Hi all,

Big box arrived, got fingers crossed it is DH's computer... please please please let me have my laptop back . Am missing you all.

Books, hope you've had a better day today.

First jabs for DS today - he's already running a temperature and got diarrhoea, ho hum. DD had bad reactions to all of her jabs so suppose I should have expected it but somehow thought I'd escape it this time.

Now we've got Tree back has made me think of others missing in action - any news of FLF in RL? Did you meet with her HKZ?

Spink - glad you also not got around to bedroom activities.

chefswife for some reason I can't add you as a friend on facebook - if you'd like to, please do add me as a friend. Quite a lot of us on here are friends and it's nice to catch up with new photos without having to add them to the group.

I feel the same about co-sleeping and baby-wearing - I really want to be there all the time for him, but after a while it gets too much and I just need a teeny weeny break - that's where the swing comes in handy! Your 3 hour sleep session sounds heavenly!

hkz we had a tough night too with endless feedings from 2.30am. I am also thinking growth spurt. Slept this afternoon for an hour though as OH took him off in the sling for another tractor session so am feeling sort of human again.

We are finally back in the saddle when it comes to bedroom activities but very, very carefully!

Good luck to those juggling toddlers and babies - I don't know how you do it!

rrrayray · 10/03/2009 19:57

Most posts for days!

Esme still very sniffly and really unsettled tonight. has done two GIANT Explosive poo's today and seems like in pain... wonder if funny tummy too?

Tree Great to hear from you. Glad pukes have done.

hkz hope you have a better night tonight

Better run, she is awake again. she ususally goes to sleep at 7 and is dead to the world until i wake her at 10.30, but seems to be waking every 10 mins and absolutely Screaming.... i hate her being poorly and not really knowing whats wrong!

EachPeachPearMum · 10/03/2009 20:09

[dog] thoughts of another already!
I briefly thought of it last week- was thinking I'd like another little girl after this baby... (says she who was only having 1 child...)
But no, I could not do 3... just about managing to feed/dress/entertain 2.

DS finally got the cold- he has been v sneezy today, and sleepy, bless him- he sneezed 16 times on the run at one point, poor thing.

I finally went to register him today- yay! By myself... was first time I'd put the pram in the car... it only just fits, takes up the whole boot, and I have to take 2 wheels off to get it in... oh dear. Well, at least it will stop me buying anything when we're out- there's no room for any shopping bags

treedelivery · 10/03/2009 22:38

Hello again - big waves it's so nice to be back. How the hell have I managed without this place?

Oh yeah, I haven't!

To all the mums with the screaming toddler and new baby hell [Books your're doing it, just keep calm and carry on as they said in the war] my only support from the world of 4year gap is this : mine can vocalise her disgust with it all!!

'when are you going to look after me properly again mummy?'

'now the baby is out how come your still too tired to play with me?'

'Do you still love me or is Harriet so noisey you have run out of love and cuddles?'

No really it's tru! I won't tell you what she said about my fat......

Chiro amazing really, resulted in spinach poo. Make of that what you will!
I think I will go and read our January labour and awaiting labour threads again. I feel so out of the loop and nostalgic for those days sat about waiting for labour om poms to wave. Sigh.

rrrayray - sorry Esme still under the weather. Hope the night goes Ok for you.

treedelivery · 10/03/2009 23:06

BTW - Hope you have a much better night and day Books. You really are doing it, and doing it well. Maybe some light/heavy retail therapy? Or do something nice for yourself or all of you, get yourself flowers and so on.
And remember the cure of old - a box of chocs. Has to be a box, bars don't work as well.
I'm having two rings made for myself for mother's day and as a well done for having a baby pressi, with the dd's names on. It's keeping my morale up tbh. Mum is buying me one and I'm buying me the other if dh can't afford. Bless his boots.

EachPeachPearMum · 11/03/2009 03:12

tree- this morning, while she watched me feed him, I had ' mama, it would be best to give him milk in a bottle you know'! When I asked why, she said- 'because otherwise he might posset' Made me laugh so much. Feeding is the one thing she gets jealous about- we have had ' I wish I was a baby' a couple of times- though when I offered her to try some milk, she didn't want to.
She stopped feeding at 17mo- so it's just over 18 mo ago, and she doesn't remember consciously, but I think there is an unconscious desire there, plus of course its always nice to sit on mama's knee and snuggle.
She is a mumm'y girl still really, so it is hard for her, but she is doing brilliantly most of the time- it's hard when she's tired though.
We keeop reminding ourselves that she is only 3, as I think we sometimes expect too much of her, especially behaviour-wise- but she often meets those expectations.

Fingers-crossed- we haven't had any screaming from her tonight, though she was much calmer this evening.

sorry to hear that babies r ill
bracken seems windy and blocked up in her nose

treedelivery · 11/03/2009 09:49

How you getting on Books?

Peach, our first born's sound very similar! Mine asked to 'have a go' on the boob [my mum nearly fainted] then ran off giggling.
Her answer to getting more time with me is 'detachable boobie' - a utopia between breast and bottle feeding and clearly the answer if anyone can manage to breed us with them!
I've fairly slung her at playschool this am, dh has had the voms and squirts all night [dd1 clear for 48 hours now], and I'm starting to feel sick. So figured she was best out of the house. She is not amused.

Ought to be in supermarket buting milk and dairy substitues. But I'm here doing this. Am too tired.

EachPeachPearMum · 11/03/2009 10:06

dog- your dd made me laugh!
CHildren have all the best lines, don't they!

And I read that as tree-rings.... erm, thought of counting ages.

tree- yes, detachable breasts would be fabulous, in so many ways!
I suppose ebm is a reasonable attempt, but I just haven't time to express really. I'm sure ds would manage a bottle, unlike dd, as he manages a dummy, and is much more amenable than dd ever was, but it's finding the time to express- it's so time consuming, and the hygeine faff, plus we still have thrush, so not great- certainly couldn't freeze any.

re dairy thing- I have only stopped milk, not cheese or butter (though we had a cheese sauce dish monday, and his poo was green and vinegary yesterday)
It's very hard to cut out dairy completely, though I know cantsleepwontsleep and others have managed. I just find that I'm so hungry, I just have to wolf whatever's to hand in the kitchen, and I don't tend to have time to sort out whether it's completely dairy free or not.
Mix and match I suppose- having no milk certainly seems 'good enough' for him, so I 'm not too worried. Of course if he was still v poorly with it, I would make more effort.

treedelivery · 11/03/2009 10:24

Maybe I could try that too. I just had a look through my pantry, and got as far as no pringles, no muffins, no soup....got disheartened and stopped. All easy to grab food is dairy based it seems. Must be why cows are everywhere!

Am determined no to get too obsessed and stressed by the food thing. I just can't go there, there would be no end to it. I haven't the energy. Cue the guilt as I should have to help dd2. Sadly she is one of many in the house and I have to have head space for all of them!

Noooo time to express, and zero motiviation. I try to think about doing itm but then I think, 'I'll just stick her on and it'll be done in the time would take to sterilise and set up pump'
I do have 6 oz in the freezer for any manic moments that may overtake me. It's for special occasions, like when I scream 'that's it, I'm leaving, You deal with it' I generally make it to the car and just sit there like a numpty for 20 mins or so.

missjackson · 11/03/2009 10:26

Ahh, you guys make your toddlers sound quite cute after all!

Tree, those rings are gorgeous! Oooh, I'm excited about Mothers Day now, I hope I get lots of presents including the all important BOX of chocolates - you are so right Tree!

Dog how exciting that you are getting married! It will be lovely to have your kids there sharing your day. I loved getting married at 32 weeks pregnant because I felt like Nye was there too - we watched the video the other day and I was stroking my tummy during the ceremony!

Had the best night last night - after a 20 minute tantrum during bath time, he then slept from 7pm - 1.30am, then till 6.30am! My boobs were leaking all night long as usually he feeds much more than that. He did have his first little sick-up this morning though - sort of looked like curdled milk? - so maybe he is feeling a bit under the weather. Don't want to get too optimistic about his sleeping!

moosemama · 11/03/2009 10:28

I managed to cut out all dairy for 1 week and then reintroduced it a bit at a time starting with milk in my coffee then a thin slice of cheddar at lunch. The only time she seemed to react was when we had macaroni cheese, so am just keeping dairy intake low for now, having soya milk on cereals and substituting dairy where I can.

I think giving up the dairy also helped to limit the thrush. I gave up sugar for a few days as well to help get rid of it and found that much harder than giving up milk.

My boys have both complained about not enough cuddles so have been making a big effort to cuddle them at every opportunity. Last night I had them both on my knee, legs either side of my lap, arms round my neck, one behind the other! We were dancing to 'The Feeling' and they were loving it, it was great to see them both so happy and have definitely noticed an improvement in behviour and homework in just one week since I started really trying to make an extra effort with them both.

Stinky, yukky cold got worse last night and have now lost mt voice! DH is loving it!

treedelivery · 11/03/2009 10:45

Dog is getting married? What? Where is that? I missed that!

I got married in 18 months ago, I still day dream about it. dd1 was a sort of flower girl [the sort that is absent and sat under a table eating buns]. It was amazing, sigh.

Am feeling encouraged about the idea of limiting dairy not eliminating it! Am off for a pringle!!!!! Or 10. I had a look on the threads about allergy etc, and it was all so hardcore and overwhelming!

treedelivery · 11/03/2009 10:46

Found post Dog, how did I miss that?

Congratulations!!!!! Woo Hoo!!

EachPeachPearMum · 11/03/2009 11:24

dog you slipped that under the radar!
congratulations

EachPeachPearMum · 11/03/2009 11:27

Off to hosp now for ds' hip scan...

Our wedding was fab- New years' eve- coldest day of the year- all blue skies and ica crystal in the air... and for some reason I went for a strapless dress

elkiedee · 11/03/2009 11:35

Congratulations on the getting married dog.

moosemama · 11/03/2009 11:56

Congratulations Dog!

Can barely remember my wedding it was sooooo long ago! Do remember the hotel staff nearly called the police when all our uni friends turned up and tumbled out the back of a very rusty old transit van though! AND the sight of my ol dad on the dancefloor with a load of crusty old dreadlocked students while Jello Biafra and the Dead Kennedys was playing will stay with me forever!

Of course we are far to fat, unfit, old and boring for all that now and all the dreadlocks have turned into bald patches!

Good luck with hip scan EPPM DD slept through hers.
