bracken is pooing for engkand today theyu are quite runny she doesnt seem quite right either not feeding as well and refusing to sleep in the day today

missjackson · 14/03/2009 20:24

Am in London! Trip down the motorway went surprisingly well - he slept 2 hours to Reading, then I changed him, bought lunch and breastfed in the car, and then he slept rest of the way here - result is that he won't settle tonight but his Godmother (who is meeting him for the first time tonight) is trying her best to cuddle him to sleep!

We just picked up the BEST sushi - there's a little place in Golders Green that supplies all the major japanese restaurants in London like Nobu, and they also just do really amazing but cheap take-out sushi - I am soooo excited, I love sushi, and obviously didn't eat it in pregnancy, and where I live in Wales, I think I would have to drive about an hour to get anything decent!

Hopefully he will go to sleep soon so that I can eat and have a glass of wine!

Happy Saturday nights...

Evenin' All!

Right so MBTs. MBT Website (Masai Barefoot Technology) They are shoes/trainers which increase the muscle activity in your, buttock, rear thigh, lower limb and abdominal muscles whilst reducing stress and impact on your knees and hips.

They can help with hip, leg, knee and back problems by improving your posture and the knock on effect is that the improved posture pulls the rest of your body into line and tones the muscles.

I got some as I was walking in excess of 5 miles a day and as I already had hip and knee problems plus residual problems from SPD, the constant impact was causing quite a lot of pain.

They definitely worked for me. My posture definitely improved, my tum muscles were flatter and tighter and my legs were much more toned.

Be warned though, they are expensive and you have to be fitted for them by a trained fitter who then teaches you how to walk in them as its quite different from walking in normal shoes or trainers.

You can only wear them for 10-15 mintues at a time a first as well, as they really do tax the muscles and you will hurt like hell if you wear them for longer. The upside of this is that you know you haven't wasted your money and they are actually working!

They used to be really really ugly, but have one or two styles that are bearable now.

I had to stop wearing mine in the third trimester cos I couldn't lace them up anymore! Xmas Blush I'm thinking I will start of with just 10 minutes a day again as my muscles have lost the plot since then.

I think I will probably get some Chapa Caviar Black sports shoes as they are fairly plain and won't stand out under my black joggers. I had a pale pair last time and they are absolutely wrecked now.

DS2 has been a nightmare today, swap your 2 year old tantrums for a great hulking nearly 5 year olds tantrums, including stamping, growling, screaming and punching Mummy!

treedelivery · 14/03/2009 20:33

Have been trapped here on mumsnet all day - yipee!!

but on downside thats because if the person holding dd2 so much as moves she starts screaming. And I mean screaming. Very big man size burps and farts but still screams.

Oh my poor Harriet thankfully dd1 is off with nanna as she would take this day very personally. There has been lots of 'will you play with me soon mummy' poor thing. Am a bit heartbroken for my girls today.

moosemama · 14/03/2009 20:36

Oh yes and glass bottles.

They are not too heavy at all, just nicely weighted and they're made out of quite thick, chunky glass so don't feel at all fragile. DH and I both agree they feel a lot nicer than plastic bottles when you are feeding with them.

They have an anti-colic widgety thing in the neck of the bottle but its really easy to clean and not at all fiddley.

moosemama · 14/03/2009 20:44

Tree you poor thing. It feels so awful when you can't be there for both of them at the same time, but try to hold onto the fact that it will only be for such a small part of the their childhood. Things will get better and they will both be fine. I can barely remember the specifics of what things were like with DS2's colic now, but I know that I said very similar things to you at the time.

Also, despite him having screaming colic and seeming to be in so much pain and distress, he grew out of it and into the sweetest, happiest and most contented little lad (excusing his tantrums today that is - I think he's getting them in now because he was such a sweetheart when he was 2).

treedelivery · 14/03/2009 21:10

It just seems so cruel that she feels such pain.

And poor dd1 was a bit on edge anyway before dd2 arrived. Bless her she has a heart of gold. She keeps hugging H and saying oh I love my baby - she does it to win approval I think and to make me happy. Oh SOB! Am going to have to toughen up a bit and stop torturing self.

Can you see why I was away from mn so long? I really didn't want to post like this 24/7. And I would have done. Haven't had a day like this for a week or so so it's all progress......

chefswife · 14/03/2009 21:39

i feel very well to be running. remember though, DD is now 3 months. i also had a very easy birth and was quite active right up to the day i gave birth to her plus i've been doing pilates and yoga for 2 months so i should be getting of my butt and back to my running. i haven't heard of the toxin thing but was advised by my naturopath to give a good feed beforehand because the milk can taste funny... i suppose thats why.

about the BPH FREE bottles, etc, there is a great documentary from the CBC but i'm not sure if you can view it outside Canada. here are the links:

this is the full documentary: www.cbc.ca/documentaries/docplayer_doczone.html

oh ya! i have to brag a bit. sorry. last week, my favorite morning show, 'the mom show', did an episode called the dad show which i'm sure you can guess what that was about. they talked about what 'push' gifts they got their wives/partners. DH watched this, and not that i was expecting it, but yesterday i got one kick ass spring coat and bag! nice.

DD is gnawing the heck out of her hands, sometimes with a strained look on her face that she can't get the whole hand in her mouth. very funny. but now we have to cover her cutie pie outfits with a big ol' bib because she is so slobbery. sweet. i guess teething is coming up around the corner.

treedelivery · 14/03/2009 22:12

oh God you're so fit and motivated and I have 2 stone of PRE BABIES weight to loose. I need to bf the street. It's the only way.

moosemama · 14/03/2009 22:35

Tree I also have a stone and a half to lose from before I got pregnant.

I had just got to my target weight (after years of trying and failing) when my Dad died and I put it all back on through comfort eating. Then was just starting to lose it again (mainly through walking in my MBTs) when I got pregnant and as you know, felt so flippin terrible through most of the pregnancy that any form of exercise was just not an option.

So its a year since I was walking and losing weight and I'm back to square one.

My main motivator for the walking is actually to stave off the dreaded PND. Am hoping weightloss will be a happy side effect. (Which of course it won't if I don't stop eating rubbish.)

treedelivery · 14/03/2009 22:36

Have had a box of All Gold tonight.

Just a one layer box........

chefswife · 14/03/2009 22:43

ya... but where can i get the motivation?

moosemama · 14/03/2009 23:08

We had no decent goodies in the house tonight so prowled the cupboards for a while and ended up with two slightly stale scones with butter (no jam left) and a glass of cranberry schloer.

treedelivery · 14/03/2009 23:14

Moose thats terrible.

chefswife · 15/03/2009 00:25

you do what you gotta do. i really had nothing but some fruit icicles so i made oatmeal and raisin cookies. am currently drooling, waiting for the batter to chill enough to bake them. mmm. see. this is why i need to start running.

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:33

i think i'm going to have to do a bit of baking myself - non dairy flap jacks or carrot cake? hmmm... that'll help with the vast amount of excess weight i am carrying - despite assiduous breast feeding i swear i'm actually getting fatter... mum and baby yoga classes for me, i think...
