Dizzy - you beat me to asking for a re-cap

so far I think there has been
poo or lack there of
a medieval (sp?)chicken
no sleep for some
lots of sleep for others

then I got lost.

We had an amazing weekend away the food was outstanding. DD ate with us every evening developing a taste for the little tasters we had before each course. Her favorite by far was the butternut soup with truffle shavings and truffle oil - the chef was amazing he made her little portions of most things without the salt or too much spice.

We gave her some spinach, swede and apple on Friday and it seemed to block her up and we too were poo-less until this morning (from Friday) when she squealed loudly at breakfast I went to change her and there was a tiny little claylike poo then she squeaked and emptied they entirety of her stored tummy contents onto the nappy that was folded beneath her [phew] much happier baby all around.

We went to a garlic farm when away and DD loved garlic bread and ate huge chunks of lightly roasted garlic too. So for dinner tonight we have had smoked garlic soup with mini parmesan tortellini (made by me )
pudding is orange curd on toast

No1 - thinking of you and M

Hugs to those who need them {{{{HUGS}}}}

Will go try and catch up properly now.

dizzydixies · 02/03/2009 21:36

gosh, there's a very strong smell of garlic coming from the thread for some reason

had NOBODY had the decency to mention the resounding success that Scotland had at the weekend

VG tell MrGardenia that I hope they're running scared for next weekend

TwilightSurfer · 02/03/2009 21:36

will catch up in a moment.

just popping on now to say
I LOVE YOU MIAMLA!!!!!!!!!!!
i have just single handedly postponed my IL's visit using Miamla kind tactic (yours, of course was for good....MINE...FOR EVIL ha ha ha).

you see MIL has a very bad stomach bug. the ILs are due in on saturday. that's just 6 days before we leave for a 9 hour drive to the beach. i politely pointed out they don't need to travel while ill nor do they need to bring us a stomach bug just a few days before our vacation. she replied immediately saying, you are right...we should reschedule our trip.

I CAN NOT CONTAIN MY JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a clue what my kitchen looks like. I had the guys put up a plastic curtain this morning to keep the dust out. It's black so I can't see in. I hear them working. All my appliances are here in my dining room, sitting all around me actually. I'm kinda getting that HOME MAKEROVER vibe so I might WAIT to peek until it's all done and the appliances are back in place.

Oops . Although I did have an illicit fry-up brunch in Sainsbury's cafe today with Kurt so it aint all gruel and manglewurzels here.

TS Smooth move.

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 02/03/2009 22:17

Sazzles - we didn't go anywhere posh just to the Isle of Wight, we stayed in a pretty foodie hotel and it was DBB so the amazing food was all included. DD also loved asparagus which led to some interesting smalling wee.

What is a manglewurzel buckets??

Dizzy - what's wrong with DD2's arm?

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 02/03/2009 22:29

hi oops, i wasn't sure when you were back but now i know you are, i'll stick a little parcel in the post for you tomorrow glad you had a nice time, the food sounds amaing. was the hotel expensive?

ts pleased to have been of service but i'm not sure how i helped! explain please!
yeah... do a pull down the curtain reveal!!! but make sure your laptop's close to hand so that we can all be there for it

buckets hmm fry-up! haven't had one in months!

sazz what openers/latches did you go for?

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 02/03/2009 22:33

Miamla - it wasn't too expensive £700 for all 3 including DBB in a family suite and ferry included but it was our anniversary and the IL's paid as a gift to us which was very nice and unexpected.

TwilightSurfer · 02/03/2009 22:38

miamla...your dp's 80 year old grandfather....ring any bells???

what a lovely gesture from the inlaws! were they your neighbous or was your room change successful?

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 02/03/2009 22:40

ts but he's not ill! he's old and, in my mind, not good enough to do the drive. but ok, i can see how you worked it to your advantage! congrats!

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 02/03/2009 22:41

Room change very successful - they were as far as the hotel could put them from us BUT they did babysit DD for us on Saturday and we had a grown up dinner and wine and real conversation.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 02/03/2009 22:43

excellent news! did they comment on the change?

TwilightSurfer · 02/03/2009 23:05

I am going to turn on the news and see if something happened to the UK. I've never gotten up this late to find only one other post.

shhh, I'm sneaking on whilst at work (in lunch break obv!).

All going well although I don't have a flying clue what I'm meant to be doing. 9 months off has rotted my brain . As luck would have it, I am now in the same building as the Head of Midwifery, and she just happened to mention that because I am still bfing, work have to make allowances for this, and allow me time to go to nursery and feed O!! That is just brillianT! Am seeing my manager later so will slip that in......

Going to catch up later .....

Waves to TS Nothing happening here apart from rain

cyteen How are you feeling? It is the tiredness you know. I actually whimpered at dh last night - I don't think I've ever whimpered before I also had a mini tantrum last night and this morning - dh was away all week last week, then did an on call last night and is on call this Sat. I AM FED UP WITH IT. However, I can cope as long as I am not tired. But I am fecking knackered so the depression sets in when that happens. All I can say is talk to your dp and tell him exactly what he can do to help. Dh did actually act on some things I said at the weekend - and it usually falls on deaf ears.

Other news to report is Tobes really hates cauliflower cheese and blows raspberries when I try to feed him with it....

PetitFilou1 · 03/03/2009 13:17

oops Where were you staying, food sounds great (but WHAT are you doing making your own tortellini - come over and sort my house out if you have time to make pasta!)
