Hello all

TS Glad to see the thread meeter and greeter has reached your turf

buckets You do enjoy life don't you - any excuse to dress up as a tart

hotter Tis ok you can be nosey, I am a DH civil servant, used to be London based but working from home atm. Never been to Quarry House but I do know it obviously! Isn't there a pool there?

On the weighing, absolutely no idea what Toby weighs, have been wondering though and may take him if I get time at some point! Not sitting up here still. He has only just got the hang of rolling onto his front and staying there without complaining for a bit so I'm not expecting him to be sitting any time soon (annoyingly!) He likes to stand in his jumparoo thing though

Off to have lunch and will be going to see Slumdog later (have not been to the cinema for a Very Long Time so quite excited )

I have had possibly the worst day ever and the only thing I can take from it is that if I'm having a really shit day maybe Pertelote is having a good one

thinking of you and Marianne today pertelote

what a lovely blessing VG very apt

ataraxis · 12/03/2009 14:15

am just being melodramatic, all little things tbh but enough to make a shite day

  1. Dylan bit me during both her night feeds
  2. DH forgot to take up DD1's swim stuff - small I know but a PITA
  3. DH away to Ireland today for his dad's thing and we had a tetchy day yesterday - my fault
  4. feel bad for resenting DH going as its a nice thing for him to be there BUT its one of his few days off, I'll have to manage myself again overnight on my own and I hate it
  5. SIL has said she's not coming to christening to very valid reason but I still can't stop myself being unreasonably annoyed about it
  6. after dropped DH at airport, took Dylan and DD2 to matalan to return a top - met shift bully outside shop. She stood there all smiles etc talking away to DD2 and I just stood there with mind racing as to what to do (haven't seen this woman since I left work on matty leave) I didn't let go of DD2's hand and just walked off saying thank you, I know because she said DD2 was lovely. Heart racing, legs shaking and all because I was furious with myself for not being the better person
  7. into TKMaxx to let DD2 playwith look at some toys and she disappeared round a corner, which is fine as thats what she does when she's filling her nappy. Took her up to the toilets to get her changed only to find she'd had a very bad case of diorreha all down the inside of her trousers, into socks shoes etc - whoe packet of wipes and we left in pants and shoes bless her
  8. bought trousers and socks in Next and thought'd I'd cheer us up with a hot choc in Borders but the fecking lift was broken and the whole of the downstairs was full of mother's day stuff
  9. met arse of line manager whilst trying to leave, fortunately he's not know for his chat so that was another short but awkward exchange
10. accidently hit DD2's head with car door - not impressed in slightest 11. came home to find flower delivery man at door BUT he wasn't looking for my house 12. DD2 has had round 2 of excavation and Dylan apparently not in the mood for napping when all I want to do is curl up on sofa with vodka blanket and watch shitey tv

all this before 2pm, all ridilious things to be annoyed at but none the less it added up

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 15:16

and if thats not enough some fecking Scottish arse is threatening to tax chocolate, sheesh, how to kick a lass when she's a bit down - better stock up

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 16:46

and have now killed the thread with all my whinging

hotterpotter · 12/03/2009 17:25

Just nipping on while my meatballs simmer, yum

Dizzy you definitely win the booby-prize for shittest day today but at least take consolation from the fact that DD2 had trousers on and not a skirt . Hope things have calmed down a bit now.

Have had the house to myself for 2 hours this afternoon, while DD at nursery and DH took DS into town. Was the first time I've been here on my own since August last year and only the second time I've been away from DS for more than an hour . Was very nice and I actually got some stuff done on my application. Seems I have done more stuff at work than I thought, phew!

AnnVan · 12/03/2009 17:31

Hi ladies! Sorry you're having a crappy day Dizzy
I've met up with a couple of ladies this pm, but for some reason it just felt a bit 'off'. can't put a finger on it really.

Ineed some help. We're trying to plan a holiday. DP is thinking centreparcs, I would prefer a cornwall/devon cottage. Would need to be plenty of things to do within walking distance, and a cot, and be accessible by train. Any ideas anyone?

ataraxis · 12/03/2009 17:32

Sorry dizzy, school run and dinner (everyone fed nice and early tonight - fishfingers and chips . Does home made chips make it better or worse?

I can completely understand why you are feeling so shitey. I hope that the last couple of hours have been a bit better. It does all add up to a point where you think 'what next?'. How is dd2 now poor love?

let me know next time shift bully is around and I'll come up and 'ave 'er. I can be right scarey y'know! [growl emoticon]

hotter, lovely for you to have some time to yourself

ataraxis · 12/03/2009 17:33

ann, just show him the prices for centreparcs, that should put things in your favour

AnnVan · 12/03/2009 17:49

the prices are a bit stupid - plus you have to pay for every activity as well
Need to find a cottage that's not too expensive though, plus has decent transport.

LoveBuckets · 12/03/2009 18:04

PF A gothic Edwardian tart I'll have you know.

Dizzy Agreed, that is more than enough to ruin one's day. Bath and book when kids in bed?

Ann We are taking laptop to Centerparcs next week so will be doing a running commentary a la Twilight Surfer. This place looks lovely, though a b&b not selfcatering. I love Totnes, so hippyish, like a mini Glasto, easy drive to beaches and the b&b can do massage etc too.

Made an interesting pie today with frozen breaded fish fillets in dairy-free cheese sauce in puff pastry - basically a fishfinger pie!. Surprisingly nice (if a bit cloying) and DS1 ate loads of it.

alittlebitshy · 12/03/2009 18:37

thinking of pertelote.

trying to catch up but failing.

TwilightSurfer · 12/03/2009 18:41

well dizzy now i understand your response to me on fb. wtf! you need to go back to bed. do you have someone you can call to watch the wee people for a while?

pertelote & marianne are on my mind. anyone heard anything yet?

i need to be finishing up the packing but to be honest i haven't really started yet...only have piles of things here and there. can't believe i leave in the morning.

{{{hugs}}} and drinks for all

CaptainCaveman · 12/03/2009 19:18

Hugs DIzzy - I felt annoyed about pretty much everything when I was pregnant.....you're not are you?

Prayers aplenty for Pertelote and Marianne

Back later, family calls...

dizzydixies · 12/03/2009 19:39

good grief Ann please avoid center Parcs for as long as you can, Seb is small enough to take anywhere and a lovely wee romantic cottage should do just the ticket - you've time for all that when he's demanding to be entertained

CC would certainly explain my stomach but no, am not pregnant!

TS thanks for letting us know Sazz safe and well, good to know now get on with that packing!!

Hi Seb

Just popping on - waiting for Priest to discuss baptism Dh being very un-priesty to wind me up.

back later - on my new laptop with my new blondies highlights and short boyish haircut but I do need to wash out the salon bouffant look.

ooh here he is bye

sambo303triesforScotland · 12/03/2009 20:12

hi - can report that Marianne's op went well and she is in ICU recovering

hotterpotter · 12/03/2009 20:20

That's fantastic news am crying a little bit now. Bless you Marianne

Sibh · 12/03/2009 20:21

Thanks for that great news Sambo.
It's been hard to concentrate on much else today.

Manly pats on the back to VG and Dizzy, and its good to hear that the news for Marcus was good No1.

The house is still upside down here. The children are rattled and bickering, which isn't like them really as they are normally great friends.

I got rather daring new glasses from Specsavers and even DD2 laughed at them ... And she's teething and is projectile vomiting as a result. I've had a weird headache for a few days and so I've tried to stay away from the screen, but I've been keeping up.

Good luck for tomorrow Cyteen.

cyteen · 12/03/2009 20:22

Oh yay How wonderful. Thanks for keeping us informed sambo Continued thoughts, prayers of all kinds and loving cheer to pertelote and Marianne!

Sibh · 12/03/2009 20:23

How rude of me Oops.
I forgot to say how gorgeous you are looking.
