Oh and VG I know Voltaire's Candide was a pisstake but I still live by the motto: "Everything is for the best in this best of all possible worlds."

And around the 6-7m mark I've always found my brain starts to race with work/business/world-changing ideas. The first time I was so relieved to be busy at work, the 2nd time I felt really quite frustrated because 2 small kids is v limiting (and lost my car at that time too) and this time I've just been planting the seeds in different pots in my brain to see what's grown best by the time I'm ready to get out there. Surely the working week is for looking up new jobs online anyway? Tis a good time for a change.

Popping inn to let you know we are still alive! Been mad busy with work and rl , and I've just nipped on here before the school/work run commences in earnest.

oliver now has a tooth . It arrived yesterday.

Hope you are all ok, and sazz & ts have a wonderful holiday

sambo303triesforScotland · 11/03/2009 08:06

morning all

nice to see you cc , well done O on the tooth

ts & sazzles I hope you and families have a wonderful vacation

vg well done to E on that sleep, what's your secret? DS is still waking between 9pm and 11pm for a feed then every 2 or 3 hours through the night mainly for comfort and now I bring him into our bed out of exhaustion I think he's more comfy and warm with us so this a further reason for him to wail in the wee small hours when I have tried to put him back in his cot. Tried sweet potato to no avail, what's next? DS is going to have naps this week in his own room in his new cotbed with a view to moving in there on nights this Friday. dp and me are a bit about it but I did say it frees up his little nest for the next one

hotterpotter · 11/03/2009 08:57

Morning all

Glad you're feeling more chipper today VG, but really, we can handle a bit of moaning and woe is me from time to time. I'm sure we've all done it a bit anyway.

Sambo that sounds like a good idea to get DS used to his own room. I'm not ready really either to have my lovely boy in his own room at night but I don't have the incentive of another baby to ease the transition . Still quite poor sleep here, up at least three times a night, grrrr.

Sazzles and TS have a fab holiday

Dizzy can't wait to hear

CC hope work is going OK, well done O on the new tooth

Pertelote will be thinking of you a lot over the next few days. Hoping it all goes fabulously well

Cyteen is it your driving test on Friday? Good luck! I haven't even booked my first lesson yet

PF glad to hear things are better between you and DH. Hope he keeps up looking after you

No1 so pleased to hear DS is OK . You must be so chuffed. Give hem an extra hug from me

Everyone -

Am not finding much time to post at the moment . During the day it's a fight to keep DD off the computer, and DH has been working really hard digging out ponds so I have been doing nursery run, shopping, ti hidying. Plus have found out that my job is going to be advertised from 23 March so have got to get my head round my application . Have got to go in to work on Friday to have a meeting with my boss and the other two people from our team who will be going for the two posts, hopefully will be useful to help get the forms done. Trouble is, it's all competency-based, so 'give an example of this or some other rubbish' and after 9 months off work I'm not in that kind of frame of mind. The only consolation is my job is crap so wouldn't be too bothered to have to try something else, but would like the extra money.

Bloody DD already hovering for her fishy game, may be back later...

dizzydixies · 11/03/2009 09:16

hotter time for mother/daughter matching laptops I think we got DD1 a vtech one for christmas which she loves and we sit on the couch side by side, me on MN and her counting/spelling etc

PF I understand completely, it is so hard to find quality time as a couple when there is constant coming and going and kids to juggle. DH and I sometimes put DD2 to the nursery so we can have some time with just us or just Dylan or we try to split up and give the kids some quality time or (and this is my favourite) sod the housework and bugger off out with the kids - stick at it though because in a few years the kids will all sod off and not want to spend time with us anymore1!

VG say no more but you know where we are

sazz and TS have a great time

poppy welcome back from Paris - shall text to arrange a meet up

CC lovely toothy boy! hope you're doing ok at work - don't do too much though

Sambo behave, you'll be making me broody

so last night was utterly pooped and went to bed, couldn't be bothered lifting Dylan for a dream feed so just left her and she slept from 6.15pm to 3am!!!!! lifted her through to feed her in with me and she just snuggled back in and went to sleep until just before 6am

now if we could just get her to sleep through I'd be delighted

dizzydixies · 11/03/2009 10:24

gosh, only day one and its already quiet without Sazz

cyteen · 11/03/2009 10:38

Morning all.

Joe seems to have decided that 5am is when the day starts DP got up with him, which was nice, then delivered him back to me at 7am - at which point he fed and went straight off to sleep. It would have been rude not to snuggle down next to him and doze

Still feel crap though. My head and shoulders ache like I've been drinking, except I haven't. Perhaps someone out there has given up hangovers for Lent and I've got their allocation.

I think it's just PDT (pre-driving test tension). Will be glad when the bloody thing is over, my head is full of test routes and admonitions to check blind spots/put handbrake on/brake smoothly etc etc etc. BORING.

CC congratulate O on his tooth, won't you

dizzydixies · 11/03/2009 10:47

ah feck I've just about had it on here, am now starting a barney in the AIBU threads

Dylan up from her nap so am off to do something more constructive than antagonising people by giving them helpful advice

CaptainCaveman · 11/03/2009 12:42

Sneaking in during a break..

NO1 such fab news re Marcus, I'm so happy to hear your great news. Not so great re the wee specimen, but they take 5 days to grow cultures in wee, so if you allow for time either side of that, it's usually a week at least. Bugger to have to keep waiting though.

Do you know what ladies - i am greatly comforted by the fact that so many of our babies don't sleep through the night. I would feel far worse if O was the only one who kept waking for feeds. So, inadvertantly you are all providing me with lots of support. Thank you

Re. house move. Survey being done on our house on Friday. Hoping we might get to move in May , possibly.

ataraxis · 11/03/2009 12:42

Hi

pertelote, been thinking of you this week, I really hope everything goes well.

no1 & Sausage, glad to hear the good news for both of you. no1, fingers crossed on the sample results.

hotter, I know what you mean on the headless chicken front.

vg, sorry you are feeling shite, I hope things are better today (last mention, I promise).

I had a horrible 'oh, this is it' time on Monday - the previous week had been ok but this week things have really hit home . I keep going over the situations and decisions that we have made that mean I have to be working now . I know it is downright selfish, as I have a really good job, am treated like an adult, have a huge amount of flexibility and enjoy what I do. I have just enjoyed the time with the children so much and don't want to miss out...

pf, not much I can say, but {hugs}, I hope things are better. I think you are amazing, it must be really tough with dh away like that.

sazz & ts, sorry I missed you, hope you have a fantastic time.

dizzy info please! You promised to provide full details today....

Hi ann , hope things are good with Seb.
