JKS sounds good ques to me.

I know what you mean r/e swimming. When we stopped H swimming lesson, as he could swim and it was too expensive with L too, we decided to take him ourselves.
Have been about 3 x times!

it's snowing here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

snowing

been sunny & rainy here today, hoping for proper sun tomorrow to get bikes sorted.

Did i tell you i bought a second hand bike this week?
an old dear who bought her daughter a bike for 180, she used it 4 times and it had been left in a shed for months. had a flat tyre/inner tube. she was asking 30 for it, i gave her 40! and spent 14 on new bits, it's perfect

just need Dh to attach trailer to it tomorrow, give it a test run, then, in theory, i can cycle to playgroup with both boys
(can walk it with the P&T but normally end up driving )

LuckySalem · 28/03/2009 21:13

Snowing Who's got snow? I want snow LOL Actually no I dont I need to dry some clothes tomorrow.

Getting up DD gets into a crawling position then spreads her legs really wide and pushes up.
Re: Developement. DD was crawling before she actually knew how to roll over so don't worry LaT. Also she platoed (sp) for a while and learnt nothing new for about 2 months then suddenly walked. so?
If you want to persuade her, I used to get DD to walk everywhere holding onto one hand as I'd heard it helps balance? I'd only been doing it for about 2/3 weeks before she walked - although it may well be a total coincidence

She will do it when she's ready LaT.

Lily - I dont know how you coped with 3 kids in a changing room, I barely cope with just A! lol. She likes swimming better at the more expensive one so I'm trying to work out if we can afford to go once a week.

Went to the hospital today and apparently I dont need a general aneasthetic as its so dead it'll just slide out. Although she's said that there is a 1/5000 chance that when they take it out (Wisdom) it may hit a nerve and I'll get tingling in my tongue and bottom lip forever. Horrid idea but better than this.

Went to my aunties today and had massive disaster with DD. LMAO. I took 2 nappies and a spare pair of trousers - had just changed her before we left. She leaked onto her trousers so had to change nappy and trousers, then changed her again (no nappies left but ok cos we're leaving in less than 2 hours) WRONG. Leaked again so no nappies and no trouser Had to make towelling nappy and wrap her in a couple of towells on the way back. LMAO.

Just got home and as I walked through the door all 3 cats dissapeared outside. So put DD to bed and made their dinner, all cats came inside. Went into the kitchen came back out and counted 4 cats. Did a double check and still 4 cats. Hugo has made a friend and was sharing his bowl of food with his new friend!! bless him.

LuckySalem · 28/03/2009 21:15

Oh sorry Simps - I agree that it may be worth trying to bring the wheat back in incase it was her teeth causing the bad nappies.

Also going here on weds with DD, Can't wait. Apparently all the baby animals have been born
Question though - I know pregnant women can't touch lambs but is it ok for kids? What about the others? Dont mind about germs etc as long as their not going to hurt her.

simpson · 28/03/2009 21:36

Lucky - your day out looks great Took Dcs to a petting farm place near here a couple of weeks ago and J had a great time feeding goats etc...

My theory is if they say animals are ok to touch ie tame enough then its ok.

The place we went to had taps everywhere to wash little hands afterwards!! Just don't let her put hands in mouth afterwards!!

OK its official, I have odd children

DS did the most enormous poo just before bed!! I even said to him how does such a big poo come out of a small child He looked down in loo and said "Mummy it looks like a tree!"

DD has just woken up and was showing signs of being thirty so gave her drink and she has refused to give cup back and gone to sleep with hand wrapped round tommy tippee cup (spout closed thank God!!)

Odd children indeed

LuckySalem · 28/03/2009 21:43

Aww bless Simps - Its a comforter!!

Just checked and can't go to TyMawr on Weds cos until easter it's only open at the weekeneds. Will have to think of something else to do instead now. Maybe swimming.

Lilyloo · 28/03/2009 21:47

OOPS may have started a thread here!!

Gingeme · 28/03/2009 21:48

Evening ladies . Oh my you girls ure cna chat
Before I forget I found my quote. It is in the sllep bit titled what sleep deprivation is doing to mumsnetters and mine is ' Sometimes I fall asleep on the loo at 3.a.m to wake up freezing cold 20 minutes later' must say though I would recomend ths book its fab.
A learning curve re naps today. Edward to bed first then George 15 mins later. George was fast asleep earlier and Edward woke him up queue two tired boys at swimming and falling asleep on the way home totaly the wrong end of the day. Ho hum!
I totaly agree the getting changed bit is no fun especialy as we were in a family changing room and the biys found Mummys 'wobbly bits' very amusing
Our BBQ has been rained off tommorrow so time to think of a plan B. Guess we just have to see what the weather is like in the morning.
Well I'm off to bed now. I'm on a promise
Night all xxx

simpson · 28/03/2009 21:54

Lilyloo - Can't beleive they wouldn't give you a nappy. Am stilling LOLing about the comment someone said about the nappies being gold plated for £8.99!!

Gingeme - How is your mum getting on with flat hunt?

How much did MN book cost BTW??

LOL at your quote

Lilyloo · 28/03/2009 21:58

Simps i am still at the 'it's those who expect someone to owe them a living comment' lol!!!

OP posts:
simpson · 28/03/2009 22:16

Hi all

My darling Nathan is doing me the favour of not being so snotty and chesty for the first time in a month(!) and eating properly again. I made him a modest bowl of spag bol for dinner as he had lunch at 3(!) and anyway not eating much, only for him to lick the bowl clean and look at me with mouth open like babybird, before eating 1/3 a large jar and a pot of yogurt.

As a result my anxiety levels are a bit more manageable.

just back from singing at the church concert, 6 songs ranging from We will rock you to Fear a Bata (gaelic folk song). Fun, but tired now. Sleep's been rubbish.

Simpson I know you can get gluten free bread on prescription from GP, also Tesco and Sainsbury sell loads of that sort of stuff, most of it quite reasonably priced.

Nathan is working on sitting up from lying down, if we can persuade him to try it over his left (good) side he can just about do it. He can't sit up from pushing up on arms like babies normally do.

Oh and he has started on tantrums too. Reaches for a glass jar, I take it away, he goes bright red and wails like the world is ending. Usually it is funny but if i am feeling low I can't deal with it.

Love to all and sorry for not more personals

simpson · 28/03/2009 22:31

Madmouse - glad Nathan so much better Good on him for eating more!!

Din't know you could get gluten free bread on NHS, cheers for that

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2009 09:22

Think there may be other stuff you can get on prescription too - worth looking into.

Lily - have posted. some responses
(think they needed more info for future reference, like it not being in town for eg)

Lucky - afaik it's fine for young children to touch the sheep, just a developing foetus. but you're not going - hope you have fun whatever you do.

Have had a lie-in-bed-reading-book as i couldn't get back to sleep & a bath.

Dh & DS1 heading out in a mo for a charity walk, ds2 asleep so i best do something productive.....

Lilyloo · 29/03/2009 10:25

Thanks JKS we on nappy number 3 already here today but can see a back tooth breaking through.
Although the juice she had on Friday obv hasn't helped (back to water and milk here).
Don't you just love the perfect pc mnet brigade though

Boring day planned here. DS and dp at fotty and ds has party this aft. Hopefully dp will take him and L and M will have a sleep. Have lot's of ironing and the bathrooms to clean!!

simpson · 29/03/2009 10:38

I am getting bus today with Dcs to my mum's and DD will have to have lunch on bus and it will probably be a jar

Did any of you read the thread last wk about AIBU for judging someone to give a LO a jar on bus?

Lilyloo - 3 nappies already?!! DD done a horrid poo just now which is also a teething one, I think...4th tooth on way...

Gingeme · 29/03/2009 11:25

Morning ladies.
Erm why are jars such a problem? They are mostly what george eats still I have tried lots of our food with him bur if he refuses the jar comes out. Atleast I know hes eaten something then.
£12.99 is the price of the mn toddlers book Simpson.
Glad Nathans apetite is back on track madmouse
We are off to a farm soon. Edward asked if we would be seeing elephants
Had a bit of a lay in this morning. George woke at 6am crying. Gave him a bottle and settled him back down. Woke again at 8.30
Right better go DH getting the boys shoes on.

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2009 11:27

PMSL Simps - just need to remember to make a phone call at the same time and you're sorted

Lily - i know some people..... Does L still nap then? T only naps if ill, or if we are driving somewhere he might grab half an hour.
long for those early H days when they both slept at the same time.....

Well have been doing stuff, the sun is shining, really should try and get outside though it's freezing and T happy with beebies so may wait till after lunch.

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2009 11:29

G - the jar thing is in reference to another ridiculous thread on AIBU!!
Did all 3 boys sleep till 8.30?

Madmouse - sorry missed your post earlier. so glad to hear the N is on the mend
and you are sounding ok too.
Is it busy time for Dh at the mo with Easter?
there was a thread about clergy wives i saw the other day, could be interesting to chat on there?

Lilyloo · 29/03/2009 11:29

oops bad punctuation JKS meant to put comma after L as in dp take H and L , and M will have a nap

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2009 11:30

Oh i see Lily.
was getting v there about all these toddlers who still nap!

Lilyloo · 29/03/2009 11:30

Lol at the jar AIBU!
I wonder if all these 'perfect' mums really exist ????

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 29/03/2009 11:36

HI guys - thanks for your replies. I'm not really worried as such: curious more thananything else.

Sabela's sleep seems to be one day bad, one day good. Last night was good. She woke up first at 6am then slept in bits and pieces with me until 8.30 !

Simpson - Congratulations on the teeth. Comiserations on the poo. I didn't read that thread. Sabela is still mostly on purees, with bits of bread, fruit and cheese and chicken on the side. It makes me happy to see her eating tonnes, which she does. They're mostly homemade but the pots come out if convenient!

Lily - hope you get your decks cleared. I love that feeling! I hate it if I'm having a tidy day and I don't get it all done. Oh and FGS at some of those responses!

JKS - you should have laid in longer! Hope you did get something done.

Lucky - pettig zoo sounds fab. ALl we have here is some very smelly sheep in a pen next to the supermarket . ALthough they have passed a spare five minutes! Oh, and no, no soft play or anything of the sort here. Not even baby swimming.

Madmouse - gald Nathan is eating again. I get really wound up when Sabela won't eat too.

Gingeme - gald you got a goo dnight's sleep too. LOL at the elephant. Do you think he'll be happy with a chicken?

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2009 11:37

I seriously doubt it!

Even if they think they are perfect with regard to jars/organic homecooked or real nappies/disposables or total organisation, never leave home without half the house/disorganised chaotic types like me, they surely fall down in some other area.

(ps i'm crap with cash, hardly ever have any on me! and even if you had loads of money, that's still not the point is it? giving away an odd nappy to a mum caught short is just good customer service in such a place!)
