DS has had some major strops today after I've confiscated things he managed to snaffle (fruitapura pot, shampoo etc. (we have a downstairs bathroom). i desperately need cupboard locks.!

DH and I have had a big row as well and called each other unspeakable things which is very unlike us, as he cam home and started sawing up the remainder of the old kitchen while I wanted to wait til DS had gone to bed so DH could have some time with us all since he has hardly seen us all week. Bahhh! I just feel sometimes that he never listens to anything I suggest!

LaT it's just one thing after the other I hope your dad can get started treatment ASAP. One thing I've learned in life is if you're unhappy in a siutation get yourself out of it, don't put up with it. So if you think you are genuinely not happy in Spain... or - could you stretch to renting your own apartment for a couple of months or would that offend the MIL too much .

Ooh Lucky you reminded me I had 29 quid cashback on my catalogue so have just ordered some new skimpies as well. Except one is a v sturdy sports bra!

Cute pic Housemum she has great hair! Al still has very little!

Well Simps let's just hope the narrich go down eh.

madmouse I hope your day of rest has helped.

i get to see my mum on Sun, v about that! They up at my great uncle's old cottage in Yorks Dales, since he is now in a care home his son (my dad's cousin but who grea up with my dad so more like a brother,it's complicated) has renovated it and it is lovely.

LuckySalem · 20/03/2009 22:20

Oh LaT - I'd stick fingers in ears I really would. So for you.

I can't spend my £25. I'm not sure what to buy. I keep managing to spend £60! LMAO but not cut it down to £25

LaT - DD does that with the shoes, she brings me her shoes and coat and points at the patio door.

Have cleared my shed out today, got alot of things to skip and a few things to freecycle

madmouse · 21/03/2009 08:59

Morning all. Nathan has just been awarded disability living allowance, middle rate because his care needs are significantly higher than that of a 'normal' child his age. Feel very double. Filling in the form was traumatic, so glad it was not for nothing, but it is also confrontational . need to try and look positive. nearly £200 a month can do a lot for him.

LaT did you sleep?

How was everyone else's night?

JustKeepSwimming · 21/03/2009 09:31

LaT - really not needed.
(renting over there is a good idea? if not for the stuff going on at home that you want to get back for i suppose)

Madm - & at the same time. what will you do with the dla? any ideas? sad to address all the things he 'can't' do rather than thinking about what he 'can' for a bit but if it all helps to add to the 'can' list it's worth it.
(have you told A to apply for K too?)

i woke in the night a few times again, once with a totally dead arm, what's that about?
T up at 5.55 - which we are counting as a smiley face!

DH then totally peed me off by standing at the bottom of the stairs and loudly telling T he was going upstairs with H (me thinking, hold onto sleep he's just going to put H down for a nap then i can go back to sleep). he leaves the gate open so T comes rushing up too then he shouts to me, 'JKS, are you up?'
'well i am now....'

i went and told him i would never in a million years do that to to him on his lie-in day and his reason?
H had done a really bad poo and there was poo everywhere and he needed a hand.....
but he managed perfectly well so he didn't need a hand after all.
i said i'd ring him at 4.45 next time T gets up then and say i could do with a hand too....

...and breathe.....

Off to town in a bit to get remeasured for bras as nothing fits and i need something....well actually i could get away with nothing as have shrunk lots!
then got my massage & facial this afternoon

madmouse · 21/03/2009 09:55

JKS it was A who kicked me up the behind about doing it!

madmouse · 21/03/2009 09:57

and about dh being so 'sensitive', by the time no2 is 14 months surely he can handle a poo nappy?

LaTrucha · 21/03/2009 13:20

Simpson / Lily - see you there then

Simpson - that's very kind of you. I think we'll have to wait until we get back though. Whenever that is!

JKS - hope you're having a good afternoon. But with DH. My DH tries that sometimes for e.g. when he's looking after DD in the morning, we get, when I get up'I haven't had any breakfast yet'. I just say, there's absolutely no reason why you can't have had breakfast, I manage it!

Housemum - very cute pics. Thanks for the tip. The wet wipes thing was: why do they keep chewing them? They taste foul.

Oh. And by the way for Lucky and Madmouse, I tried chewing one. They are truly vile. The mystery deepens......

Madmouse - I can see how that would be a double edged things. But he is no different than he was before and you know how well he is. And he's a very happy boy - just think how much happier he can be now! MAybe with a trike!

Angechica- good advice. I'm thinking now I might come back in May, after SILs wedding. Yiu and DH made it up yet? Or are you haveing one of those weekends.....

Lucky - what website is it. I'll do it for you!

Undecided as to what to do. Not going to think about it today. DH off again tomorrow. He's actually going to be in our house for three days and I'm so envious! He has offered for me to go but I know I'd never come back (and I do need to go to SILs wedding). It's not worth it to me for a week.

We're going to go and look at fountains all afternoon! There are lots here and Sabela is bonkers fo rthem. I have bought her some soft shoes and sliipers and she just adores 'walking' in them.

madmouse · 21/03/2009 13:41

LaT my dh thinks he cannot cook dinner if he is on his own with Nathan how does he think i do it

LaTrucha · 21/03/2009 14:25

I asked DH if he could look after Sabela while I cooked her lunch and ironed his clothes for his trip. He put her in the high chair next to where I was ironing and proceded to have a shower, make himself coffee and have two cigarettes.

Can't ACTUALLY complain about him though, as he's usually great.

simpson · 21/03/2009 16:09

Hi all

Hope everyone enjoying the nice weather...

We have had a picnic in the garden and DS is currently digging up my flowerbed

Madmouse - great that you get the funding for Nathan....

LaT - hope you are ok today....

Must go and save my daffodils!!

JustKeepSwimming · 21/03/2009 16:53

Madmouse - i know i know he should have coped better! he knows it too.
i often end up saying to him 'i manage this on my own' but really he is very good, well well-intentioned anyway!
Don't know why having ovaries suddenly makes me more competent than him with certain things though

never mind, my massage & facial were lovely almost fell asleep as points. could really do with a proper shoulder & neck massage more often as i get so tense/carry the boys too much.

LaT - hope the fountains were fun! would be dying of knowing dh was going home and not me!
and hey if there's a meetup in Fiji count me in too
PMSL at you chewing a wipe, saves me trying out of curiosity!

Simpson - good luck saving the flowers!!

Well, went bra shopping this morning (32C now) got home to a grumpy ds1 who then threw up!
had a picnic lunch outside and he ate fine, then threw it all up before we could get back indoors.
he insisted on going to bed (and H was already in bed) so they both napped for 2.5/3hrs!
T seems fine now, will have to wait and see if he keeps tea down.
can't think of anything he's eaten that would have made him sick....

So DH had a very quiet afternoon with 2 sleeping boys and me out.
right H undoing lots of kitchen roll, best go...!

LaTrucha · 21/03/2009 20:22

I feel guilty about having bad-mouthed DH as he is usually fab.

DH keeps asking me if I want to go home. In fact, although it is difficult, I really want to finish my language course. It's always been me at home with a textbook trying to learn Spanish and it's fun and challenging being taught. I know we always lapse into English at home as my Spanish isn't good enough and I feel this is my only real chance to achieve my ambition of speaking fluently. So... at least until May, I think unless Dad gets worse or particularly wants me.

More later! Dinner time...

LaTrucha · 21/03/2009 21:07

JKS - sorry to hear T sick. Maybe he ate a wipe. Oh and by the way glad to be of service on the wipe-tasting front. Oh to be a 32 again. I was before I was pregnant and am still a 36 now.

How are your daffodils Simspon?

Just spoke to my 'other' brother - the one who got thumped. He's absolutely exhausted and p**d off. He works to support himself in retraining as an osteopath. The course is knackering. Most people on it don't have financial problems and find it difficult. He's also on his own as no girlfriend/ child. The last five months have been particularly punishing there I think.

We've had a nice day with fountains and dogs and swings. Sabela has a definite heirachy of dogs, have I told you before? Small white ones are aces, big white ones are pretty interesting. Big black one, well, just don't bother. Small black ones can raise a smile as long as they have really silly hair. Cats are very funny too! But we don't see them very often.

simpson · 21/03/2009 21:24

LaT - LOL at Sabela's hierarchy on dogs!!

The flowers were ok

Think I might let DS draw on path in front garden with chalk tomorrow if weather nice....

He is going swimming tomorrow afternoon with my mum.

Still can't believe you tasted a wet wipe LaT

LaTrucha · 21/03/2009 21:27

I had to.

LaTrucha · 21/03/2009 21:28

JustKeepSwimming · 21/03/2009 21:34

LaT - Hysterical about the pet hierarchy
Good on you wanting to finish your course. what about the renting option? is there much in the way of rental stuff out there? would it piss of MIL too much?

T went to bed fine, with calpol, H was up crying about 8pm, so had calpol & a drink too.
fingers crossed they sleep ok.
can't be anything they ate (well H hasn't been sick, yet) i don't think.
part of me wondering if we're heading for something more serious, who knows what they get at nursery/pre-school......
probably be fine tomorrow - i hope!

(& PMSL laughing at him eating a wipe!!!!)

The woman in M&S did say 'because you're so tiny around the chest you've got to have a 32'
weight loss pays off!!! except in the wallet department & buying the underwear all over again!

(stupidly only realised when i got home that i could have bought the same bras as i did in January as the knickers would still fit, duh!)

Sorry about your brother he's having a tough time too isn't he.

Simps - hope ds loves the chalk idea. we have some chalk but dh isn't keen on giving T the wrong idea
may try one day when he's not here anyway!

oops

LuckySalem · 21/03/2009 22:44

LaT - Pet hierarchy!! Aaliyah loves all animals esp those with tails to pull lol.
What do wipes taste like?

JKS - Sorry to hear of the illness Hope he feels better soon. Bras 32?! I bloody wish. Last time I had myself measured I was a bloody 40 I'm getting some decent bras before holiday, haven't been measured since before DD so am sure it'll be up again Am going to braveissimo in Chester.

Simps - Glad the daffs are ok. I LOVE dafodils.

Well me and DD did nothing today except play outside. She's already doing with the chalk (and me, haha) She's not allowed to bring in it in the house which she seems to understand so far and actually leaves it on the doorstep bless her.
I've taught her a song today with all the actions and she does it along with me but she likes row, row your boat best. Esp when "if you see a crocodile don't forget to scream" comes up, she screams and I lie her backwards she thinks its great and comes over for hugs and starts rocking on my knee with a huge grin to get us to sing the song for her.
just went looking for the new song but they haven't got it on youtube

Anyways hope your all ok.

Naetha · 21/03/2009 22:53

Hey folks, long time no speak

Sorry I haven't been on for ages, just got busy with other things!

Ben's doing great - started walking at 1 year on the dot, and is now running around like mad. We've just in the last week dropped from two naps a day to just the one, so things are a little tetchy come dinner time. Still, he seems to be loving it. He's madly in to everything, is constantly chasing our cats, and throws a tantrum every time he thinks we're going inside

We're currently trying for number two, but struggling with motivation! If we can't be bothered doing the deed because we're so knackered, how are we going to cope with two?!? Anyone pregnant again here?

I got made redundant in November (silly work - I was still on maternity leave) and I'm now taking my work through an employment tribunal which is not fun. Meanwhile I'm semi-looking for jobs while doing some ebay stuff (painting and selling warhammer models) and other bits and pieces. Ben has one day a week at baby-prison (nursery) which he absolutely loves, and gives me enough of a breather to sort the house out.

Hope everyone and their LOs are doing well, it's great to catch up on some of the news!

Take care everyone xx

LuckySalem · 21/03/2009 23:18

Hi Naetha

Glad to hear Ben's doing so well. Stupid work!! I don't understand how they think that they can do stuff like that - I dont know if you remember all the problems I had with my work while pregnant but I am glad I never had to go as far as an employment tribunal.

LADIES -- FREE STUFF here I was sure there was a catch but the only "catch" was $2.96 postage which I think works out to about £1.50 which is great for 2 CD's.

simpson · 21/03/2009 23:51

Naetha - Hi

Just checked out your pics and immediately recognised MT Sinai.

I know what you mean about horrific climb. I cheated most some of the way by camel but was horrific and by accident we took the harder route down too...never again!!

madmouse · 22/03/2009 15:44

Naetha!!! Where have you been. Glad to see you and glad to hear Ben is doing well

Happy Mothersday everyone. I am tired, because I am having a difficult mothersday. But ok.

Was nice to be in church though. DH was up front as he was preaching and the service leader invited all the children to come forward with daddies to help and get flowers for their mummies. Was just wondering, with Nathan on my arm, what to do when a friend came racing past snatching Nathan from my hands saying lets get flowers for your mummy that was really sweet. Being the vicar's wife can make situations like that a bit odd.

We had a noce lunch and are just back from a walk. Not really a family day here as our mums are abroad where mother's day is on the 3rd Sunday of May!

LaT thinking of you particularly this mothers day

JustKeepSwimming · 22/03/2009 20:19

Evening & Happy Mother's Day to all

(extra special thoughts to those without their mums )

Lucky - well done on getting A to leave the chalk outside! hope she keeps up this level of good behaviour....
Would love a decent specialist bra shop near us but have managed to get some that fit myself. have to take back about half of them, grr. i'm right on the border of 32b and 32c. so need to learn to try anything on before buying it.
never mind, was too stupid to get the different size same ones as last time to match the pants i bought that still fit, so will get them when i go back in.

Naetha - hey there! T walked on his 1st birthday too. H still isn't, he's too lazy chilled cos i really think he could if he put his mind to it!
at your work! silly them hope you get them sorted out.

Madmouse - u ok? that's lovely of your friend in church! well done them for realising. i know what you mean about being in awkward situations because of dh's work.

T seems fine after his throwing up yesterday. Both of them not quite right though T was up at 4 and 5 but asked to go back to bed each time then got up at 6.30 - whcih counts as a very smiley face here
DH finally realising how much H sleeps and is now worried there's something wrong with him
May start a thread about it but worried about being flamed as usual!
i had a lie-in - lovely, a bacon sandwich - yum and lots of quiet time as DH took T out for various things. He got the boys to 'paint' cards for me - sweet & they bought some flowers & chocolate this afternoon too
i'm spoilt & having a glass (or 2) of red to celebrate

Hope everyone has had a lovely day
