Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Gingeme · 18/03/2009 19:50

The thing I would be most worried about is what would I tell my lo's? I mean they know my friend and her family but wouldn't they think it a bit weord that Mummys pregnant but the baby won't be living here? Mmmm alot to think about eh?

madmouse · 18/03/2009 19:50

Ginge at 18-24 clothes. Nathan is still very comfy in his 9-12 month trousers!

Surrogacy - I have always said to dh that I would do it for my oldest friend who is struggling to conceive. But now we cannot rule out that Nathan's problems maybe due to my body throwing a wobble in labour I think it is a bad idea. I have told her she can always have my eggs. Although with her being dark skinned (Moroccan) and her dh being pink and blonde like me that could be difficult.

Nathan is doing some really good walking on my hands, taking big steps although crying while he is at it. That is except you can see that he will have quite a limp . But hey ho, he will walk in his own time.

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 19:51

Lol at fork in and shoveling with the other I an just imagine her.

simpson · 18/03/2009 19:51

If I did do it I was say XXX's tummy is poorly and so you are lending her your tummy for the baby to live/grow in.

or something along those lines....

madmouse · 18/03/2009 19:52

x-post simpson that is great news Molly trying to stand

Ginge I would not be too worried about what kids think, you explain they accept.

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 19:53

madmouse I looked into egg donation but I am too old, over 35 your egg development slows down, and too fat, no one over 13 stone considered

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 19:55

Yeah thats pretty good Simpson well I'm keeping my fingers crossed she does it naturaly this time . She has polysistic ovaries and her DH has a slow sperm count but hey its good excersise

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 19:57

Well ladies something for you to think about. I'm off to watch Waterloo Road now. See you later. xx

LuckySalem · 18/03/2009 20:00

What would happen if I donated my eggs? I'm over 13 stone so I wouldn't be considered anyway but if I was to go somewhere say tomorrow and donated some eggs would that mean less eggs for me or do they just keep going till menopause?
What I mean is would it make menopause earlier? erm... less eggs in the long run for me kinda thing?

I know I@m not explaining myself properly sorry.

Simps 4 teeth standing
MM thats great news about Nathan.

madmouse · 18/03/2009 20:03

Lucky you are born with all your eggs already there, but there are so many that you do not use them up. At some point they stop ripening.

LuckySalem · 18/03/2009 20:05

I see, so if I went and donated eggs then I'm more likely to use more of my share but not run out.
It's just a hypothetical as I dont know anyone who'd want them as my auntie and uncles who I thought I may be able to help by giving them eggs have split up. Probably from all the trauma they've been through.

It's interesting to find out those kind of things though

LaTrucha · 18/03/2009 20:15

Lucky - you're description of A (and you!) in the swimming pool really cheered me up!

Simpson - LO at the fork. I wouldn;t be that brave. I bet you're hovering lke a hawk! Very happy she is tryign to stand.

Madmouse - very happy Nathan is trying to stand too. Has hte physio said anything about a possible limp? Glad to see you and DH so strong - despite the spat. It will see you through, girl. Feelng pretty low myself still. Told DH today and he was a bit at first as he is having a difficult time too. Then he came and gave me the nices hug while I was giving Sabela her last feed. I had her curling round my front and him curling round my back. Lovely.

Lilyloo- are you good at choosing colour schemes etc? What kind of thing are you going for.

JKS - I would have loved to have seen the look you threw DH at that dinner idea. Sorry sleep is still so rubbish. Yes, I too have dreamed of that peaceful place!

Gingeme - I don't think I could do it, TBH. Firstly, I got very ill when pg. Secondly, I was so hormonally attached to Sabela from the very start that I don't think I could ever give a baby up. Selfish, but that's the way it is. Would consider egg donation but I'm 35 now, so...

AF finally arrived and sorry if TMI but it is a stupendous one. I don't know if I'm feeling down because of hormones, or actually that everythign is pretty crappy but I am feeling down. You ladies have cheered me up no end though, so enough of that!

LuckySalem · 18/03/2009 20:17

Glad I could cheer you up LaT. Sorry it's still so crap there. I do hope something is done soon, how long are you there for?

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 20:28

Tricky...i always said pre-dcs that i would be a surrogate for anyone who needed it. since being pg and having the boys i can't see that it's that easy. i think it if came to it, i had finished having mine, and i did pg well then i would for the right person. not a stranger, maybe a sister (not that mine needs it), SIL, very good friend. i think i would want (without anything written down) to know that i'd be involved in the child's life, even if only once or twice a year.
would make for a very strange pregnancy wouldn't it? going to scans with the 'parents' not your DH. having them (or at least the mum-to-be) at the birth? and i would want her to experience as much of the whole thing as poss, cos she's not going to get the chance is she?
sad thinking about it.

how about reversing the question - if you couldn't have kids, would you go for surrogacy as an option? i would have to be very comfortable with the woman involved.

Lucky - don't think it speeds up menopause afaik. from a quick google, they take between 10-40 eggs and a maximum of 6 times. women produce millions of eggs apparently so no major dent in the number.

Madmouse - hope you are feeling more on the up, hope the birth trauma people are helpful.

hate to break this to those of you that use that spring forward, fall back but....i find it just as logical to say spring back (into shape for eg) and fall forward (as i sometimes do up the stairs!).
sorry if that spoils it for you

need a better way of remembering it as it confuses me twice a year, every year....

G - Tom seems to be dribbling lots too atm, no teeth left to come through (other than adult ones) so not that. not bad enough for a bib but i often find myself wiping his chin, almost worse than H!
grr re medised. thinking of stocking up on calpol night, doing a 'chemist crawl'
you will have to post a family shot on here for us to see!
and the pamper day ones when you get them

Simps - yey for DD

H in 12-18 most things, some 18-24 but they tend to be roomy so he's on track.

told dh no way to dinner out so have had dinner and told him he can sort himself....not the kindest i know but he has no clue!

9,2 on the Wii tonight, the weekend's lapses telling!
but...am wearing pre-dc clothes, yey!!!

best be quiet, this has taken me ages to post!

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 20:28

LaT - a heavier than normal AF is normal with a chemical pg afaik.
sorry you're suffering though

hope the cuddles cheer you up!

simpson · 18/03/2009 20:30

LaT ((hugs))

Glad AF finally showed up as you can concentrate on TTC next month...

LuckySalem · 18/03/2009 20:31

Bloody hell JKS 18-24 months
DD is still in 3-6 month tops!! LMAO

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 20:32

well tbh they are hand-me-downs so...they have probably shrunk in the wash from before.

simpson · 18/03/2009 20:43

JKS - LOL at chemist crawl

Lucky - DD in some 3-6mth stuff too but mainly 6-9. Her cardigans, jackets etc are 9-12mth now...

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 22:38

I must do huge babys then I did actualy put one of Edwards tops on him the other day,2-3, and it didn't look particularly huge
Ah LaT that sounds just lovely. Loving hugs how sweet.
JKS I would be the babys Godmother and she only lives round the corner and I see her twice a week at playgroups so I think I would be pretty involved. Hark at me I sound likes its gonna happen !!
Rang my Mum earlier. Sounds like they are definately splitting up They had the surveyor in today to help put their house on the market. They are coming down Friday so we can chat with my sister. Theve been married 43 years !
Well sorry to finnish on a downer.
Have a good night all xxx

madmouse · 19/03/2009 08:19

gingeme, 43 years of marriage is something to be celebrated as an achievement, it is beyond sad to be seeing your parents through a divorce instead big hugs to you.

simpson · 19/03/2009 11:44

Hi

Hope everyone ok today?

Gingeme - to hear of your parents...

DD has decided to have a morning nap today Good thing a RL friend is coming to us later (rather than the other way round) as it means she can have her lunch when we come back from dropping DS at pre school.

Hopefully selling the bumbo and learn & groove activity station today to my friend whose LO is 5mths old.

Making room for George's walker!!

Gingeme · 19/03/2009 13:38

Simpson it is scrubbed and readt to go. Washed it all down in the bath and power showered it .
George slept till 5.30am and decided it was up time great he slept through not so great at the early start. Mind you the other 2 were awake at 6. I said to DH if it carries on like this I may as well put him in their room any way as the sun is coming up earlier now.
I have bought a new top for the photos. We are all wearing jeans and the boys are wearing t shirts of different shades of blue and DH bought a blue polo shirt. I have a nice white smock top with pretty flowers around the neck. I have some pretty tops but they are all very short sleeved and as much as I love my tatoos I don't want them in the photos
Off to get my hair done soon then its time to get ds3 from school then photo time
I'll pop back later and let you know what they got up to

Lilyloo · 19/03/2009 19:49

Hi caught up earlier but had to go to pre school.

Gingeme hope the photos went well! Can be an expensive trip out! at size of George M 12-18 stuff is mostly too big!

MM how lovely of dh and the rose! What happens r'e your email ?

Simps does dd still not have a sleep in the day ? Hope you get to sell your baby stuff!

Mmama sounds a nightmare with bil! Shame about your trainer.

JKS no i don't think i could do surrogate unless it one of my sis or bf ?? Well done on the weight loss! And i could never imagine eating out after 8 never mind 9!

Lucky you really stuck your neck out there on that thread

LaT glad the af has come so you can move on must have been an awful limbo! (hugs that it doesn't feel that way now though)
I pretty fail safe just neutral / browns and creams. But have gone for a flower print brown and cream wallpaper which is a bit out there for me! Will have to see what it like when it's up!

Hope everyone else ok!

M is just being a nightmare sleepwise this week. Last night she ended up in bed with us. I went out for meal with some friends and she was inconsollable when i got back.
Presuming it's a pianful back tooth although our neighbours dc have chicken pox so who knows. L plays with them but she already had it. Can you carry it and pass it on if you already immune ??

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 19/03/2009 20:08

evening all - aiming for a very early night so mustn't be on here ages (as usual).

G - godmother would be ideal
sad about your parents, do you think they are both agreed? in that case it's not as sad for them, just you & your sister.
Hope the photos went well?

madmouse - you doing ok? ((hugs)) for you & N

simps - good on you clearing out, that'll be me ..... one day! can't wait!

lilyloo - told dh last night he was mad and sooo out of touch with the reality of my life thinking i would go out after 9pm. he agreed and apologised. and i can't be too cross, he's paid for me to have a facial/massage on saturday for mother's day
(well he thinks he has, i have to ring them and find out what he's actually booked, lol)
sorry to hear about M, don't know the answer to the CP question. very likely to be teeth i suppose.

H had one jab this morning, was outraged at the time, made quite a song and dance about it tbh. went to playgroup where he mostly sat on my lap chewing his blanket. home, tiny lunch then bed, woke crying so after cuddle i insisted we went out and got some jobs done but he kept signing 'sleep' so cam home and he had another hour before i woke him for tea. didn't eat loads and then had calpol and bed at 6pm. hope he sleeps well & is better tomorrow.
don't remember T reacting to jabs as much.
mmr + pnuemo in 4 weeks, what fun.
