Am not giving up anything for Lent, I'm way too saintly already, you gotta have some kind of wicked fun in your life (sex don't count, that's aerobic exercise.) I really do love crisps so I don't buy them ever, last time I had some was at a buffet last week. Chocolate has taken me 30odd years to develop a taste for so that's staying. Alcohol - can't get enough as DH's anti-depressants stop him getting pissed with me and it's no fun on your own. Fags - I have one or two rollies in the garden with DH at night and that's my real wicked fun.

Dizzy Laxatives going ok, might up the dose tonight as it's the last one. Not sure I've lost any weight or feel any better but hey, better out than in.

Kurt still not swallowing purees properly so mealtimes are just horrid sticky mess (I HATE having sticky fingers! Curse of motherhood.)

hotterpotter · 26/02/2009 12:38

Buckets shame if you haven't lost any weight. You must have been less full of crap than you thought

I don't really do Lent either; don't have a religious bone in my body, but I always fall for the idea of cutting back in a vain attempt to lose weight. It never lasts more than a day, and the box from the chocolate tasting club arriving on Monday wasn't really good timing, he he

Let's have a picture of your new hair please Sazzles

PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2009 12:45

Buckets I'm with you - although slightly concerned by the 'one glass of wine a day increases your risk of cancer by 70%' study My one glass of wine a day keeps me sane! Not sure I want to give it up. I do need to cut down on the chocolate though, I have never eaten so much chocolate (70% dark stuff) in my life as now

dizzy HAVE YOU BOOKED THE DENTIST the ones in A&E are not the best, you really don't want to end up there

Have been to baby swimming this morning - Tobes enjoyed it after he stopped worrying and was very chilled about the underwater bit

sazzles We want pictures - I can't imagine you brunette - hope you are all glossy and swishy

Off to pick up dd, back later

hotterpotter · 26/02/2009 13:07

PF pour yourself a large glass and have a look at this article. The whole thing is very intersting; the pertinent bit about the drinking risk is just over half way down

PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2009 13:38

Thanks hotter fortunately my dh is very hot on explaining risk properly. I need to get him to look at the study in one of the journals so he can see what the methodology was like and how many women were actually in the study etc etc and see if he thinks there is really any worth in what they are saying...Anyway I've cut my risk by bfing so hopefully that will have helped

hotterpotter · 26/02/2009 14:06

Yay Dizzy your choc mud cake made it on to the roundup . See all those teeth, have you phoned the dentist?

hotterpotter · 26/02/2009 14:07

Parenting news I meant, d'oh

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 16:43

Ack - anyone want a very cute baby boy? good condition but currently tired and VERY grumpy.

bidding starting at £5.

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 16:44

do I hear five pounds?

cyteen · 26/02/2009 17:01

you'll be lucky i'm knackered enough just looking after my little monster.

got him weighed today, over 20lb that groaning sound is my back giving way under the strain.

LoveBuckets · 26/02/2009 17:06

Ooh ooh Tesco have reduced Organix! Kurt ate the legs off a sugar-free gingerbread man today!

cyteen · 26/02/2009 17:07

Joe has just demanded my toast crusts

AnnVan · 26/02/2009 17:18

ok then £4.50?

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 26/02/2009 17:58

ann no chance! i had two babies for an hour today and that was quite enough thank you very much!

dizzy do we need to find "bad teeth" horror photos or have you phoned the dentist?

sazzles you're such a tease!! you can't come swishing on here with no photos!!!

buckets loved your justifications of your vices

cyteen i did wonder what the noise was!

hotpot my ex used to do the choc tasting box. it almost swayed me not to chuck him out! Their timing this month is superb, lol

eurgh, i've got paul o'grady on and whoever's singing should really thought about the amount her teeth were on show and the state of them! its going to put people off their tea!

DS fell and bumped his head this morning. the bruise is on his bald patch so it looks particularly horrific. i feel bad but safe in knowledge that there's no way i could have prevented it other than wrapping him in cotton wool with a crash helmet on his head

alittlebitshy · 26/02/2009 18:12

just getting this back onto my list.

summary from me: theatre on mon was fab!, have given up choc for lent (sob), miamla is very lovely and did a lovely thing for me today.......

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 18:47

miamla so I need you to be rubbing some Arnica on the wee man or has the message sunk in?!?

party was lovely but will let poppy tell you all about it seeing as it was MiniPop's day

ALBS glad you had a lovely time and lovely miamla is lovely too

Ann am going no higher than £3.75 - there is a recession you know

long day which is still going so will be back later, maybe as its the invasion tomorrow [meep] and I've still about a week's worth of hidying to do

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 18:48

hotter did it?!? I don't have it yet so haven't seen it

sazz come on with the swishy photos please!

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 26/02/2009 18:56

dizz i didn't even think to [rubbish mum emoticon who doesn't follow her own advice!] i'm not even sure we've got any cream because i took tablets during pg. would it be too late to get some tomorrow? ooh, i could rub some witch hazel on him, that's good for bruises too, isn't it?

i've got mine, dizz, you're famous!!!!
Carmenere's recipe of the week: Dizzydixies' white chocolate mud cake
This may not be the most appropriate recipe for Lent, but for the rest of us heathens this sinfully sumptuous cake is a little bit of heaven on earth.

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 18:59

tis 2nd time one of my receipes has been used [preen][preen][preen]

does this mean I get the FBG crown back for a wee while?!?!

yes witch hazel ok too - you can buy arnica sticks especially for bumps and bruises which are great for kids - shall look for a link

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 19:01

right everyone listen up - this is the best form of arnica for bumps and bruises and I cannot believe the price of it, its normally about £5 so off you go and get some!!
here

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 19:02

why the feck does my fecking MIL always phone at bath/bed time I nearly had to speak to her there as DH giving Dylan her bath whilst I MN relax for 5 minutes - fortunately for me DD1 loves answering the phone and as I'd heard DH's mobile ringing I knew it would be her [tee hee hee][childish emoticon]

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 26/02/2009 19:09

congrats on mil avoidance
mine ALWAYS phones when we're dishing up dinner, doesn't matter whether its ready at 7 or 10, she knows!!!

dizzydixies · 26/02/2009 19:12

I've told asked DH to ask her not to phone before about 8pm as we're normally battling with the kids or I'm feeding Dylan in the bedroom etc - its not as if she's phoning early enough to speak to them or as if she's going out anywhere

and they're not even here yet

where's the thread rescue remedy?!?! I'll be needing it back until Monday

pertelote · 26/02/2009 19:13

Definitely FBG Dizzy! That cake looks fabulous. Think baking may be a good way to pass the time over the next week...

Hi ALBS good to see you! Glad you've had a good day.

Ann careful where you make that offer! You're probably safe here where we each have a six-monther of our own but on another thread that gorgeous boy of yours would be snapped up at that price

Miamla poor you and poor Theo - I'm sure it looks worse than it is - they heal incredibly quickly though, don't they. I was at the Museum of Childhood last week and they did have some little padded helmets that babies used to wear - don't know why they went out of fashion to be honest!

sambo303triesforScotland · 26/02/2009 19:38

no self denial here as we're committed hedonists and indulge our every whim mmm choccie cake, thanks dizzy

I had such a good night's sleep I didn't know what to do with all my sudden energy today - ended up Tidying!! Good grief

ann sorry could not even take him for free even though he is mega cute - got my hands full here

hotpot thanks for that article, damned lies and statistics eh?

very of miamla + albs mini meetups
