Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ataraxis · 22/02/2009 20:14

Me too on the 10ib by end of March (well, mid April but that gives me a bit of leeway).

Dizzy, I had you pictured as dark haired too (probably cos of your dd's).

Can I just say (hopefully without sounding like a complete sycophant) that I think it is really great the way you are so openly lovely about your DH and how much you think of him. One hears so much man-bashing all the time that every time I go into your profile to look at pics, it really warms me to know there are some people who are happy to be open about how great their partners are

PetitFilou1 · 22/02/2009 20:17

Hi all

vg We have the same carrier - dh got it out of the garage today but it is covered in mildew needs cleaning sadly

TS My sympathies re dd1 - we have also got a baby teenager here. He has been vile today. I put him to bed with no dinner tonight as I have had it up to here with his fussiness. I am on my own with three children to sort out and I'm afraid he's going to have to learn ......

speaking of which Buckets How much did you dilute the tomato sauce? I'm intrigued as ds1 also won't touch that.

Re the IBS - never tried the whizzing, processing thing. Interesting though. Things that aggravate it the most are chilli (I love chilli so really fed up about that) and raw onion but generally things do sometimes come out the same way they looked when they went in (sorry hope no-one was eating at that point)

poppy Do you have a Mirena coil or an old fashioned copper one. Pg is unlikely with the mirena but the copper one could have shifted or come out - as others have said although also unlikely is not unheard of. Plenty of stories on MN about that.....

ataraxis · 22/02/2009 20:20

poppy, I was on coil before dd and didn't have a period at all after a couple of months of it being there.

Will be doing the same thing if my damn surgery gets a doctor in that can do it, or the fp place ever answers its phone to make an appointment

PetitFilou1 · 22/02/2009 20:20

ataraxis My dh is great too I have to say ...but I would always add the caveat of 'when he is here' and 'when he is not working'

btw no pressure felt here re bfing until 6 months although I really really wish Toby took a bottle. I will probably be one of the ones continuing until 1st birthday and hoping to God (apols to cc) that he self weans after that

dizzydixies · 22/02/2009 20:29

pf shall be me and you with that then

ataraxis thank you my dh is my best friend in the world, we never argue - well he doesn't I do and he just lets me go about it he's never done an intentional mean thing to me and yet I am a complete cow I fully appreciate how lucky I am

and if we're getting all open and emotional here my hair probably should be a lot darker

right then, who's got the poopy pills and can I have some please?!?!?

cyteen · 22/02/2009 20:30

I think Sambo said she was going away for a few days...?

ataraxis I agree - dizzy it is wonderfully obvious that you and your other half adore each other

For my part, I honestly don't have a bad word to say about my partner - he is the most fantastic lover, friend and dad, he makes me proper belly laugh every day and my life is infinitely richer because of him. Ok, you can all put your sickbags away now

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/02/2009 20:30

was also thinking of sambo, she has gone to see relatives, hope she is getting some rest.

poppysocks · 22/02/2009 20:30

Thanks for all your encouraging stories about the crapness of the coil everyone! 'Tis a copper one, so I'm aware that there are risks, but they're only about the same as with the pill I think and I managed 10 years on that and 2 years off it without getting pg. I even went back and had it checked 6 weeks after fitting so am pretty confident there shouldn't be a problem. Just unnerved by the absence of period. So ladies, tell me about irregular periods and breastfeeding....please....

Sorry to hear your suffering with a difficult toddler too pf. Quite a few of us aren't there. And to think our gorgeous babies will be there too in only a few short years . Personally I can't imagine E being anything other than utterly gorgeous.

LOL that a trip to Argos might have saved your sanity this afternoon dizzy! We'll all be here with the stiff drinks towards the end of the week. What a time with the anniversaries and IL visit.

Weaning going well here. E absolutely loves the food and cries when I think we've finished so has seconds every time. Still really hard poos though. Have now cut out all cereals so she's having only fresh fruit and veg, bread and the odd spot of natural yoghurt. Tons of water drinking going on too. Foxed. Any ideas anyone?

dizzydixies · 22/02/2009 20:31

am now pmsl ataraxis as I told DH what a lovely thing you said and he's now decided to believe that I do love him as the oracle that is MN has said so

and he's now convinced I'm off to call him all the wankers under the sun

cyteen · 22/02/2009 20:36

poppy I still haven't had even a hint of a period.

Can't imagine our tiny LOs will ever be trouble Sometimes I look down at Joe while he's feeding, or while he's giving me his big open smile, and try and imagine him as a moody teenager giving me grief and smelling of socks and Lynx There must be some natural self-preservation device built in, that means us parents can't look beyond the now and see what we're letting ourselves in for.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/02/2009 20:40

cyteen no period here either.

I often think about when dd is older, and she starts slamming doors in our face etc....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/02/2009 20:41

I have just bought another pram

dizzydixies · 22/02/2009 20:44

white chocolate mud cake here

oh oh oh No1 what did you get?!?

cyteen it happens sooner than you think, my DD1 has her moments but is mainly a great good girl, DD2 brilliant, funny, loving but my god when her mind is made up thats that! DD3 is going to break my heart I think

PetitFilou1 · 22/02/2009 20:45

poppy He's no toddler, he's 5! He's still my lovely boy but he drives me utterly insane from time to time (or quite often in fact)

On the foods, bananas cause constipation. Is she having many of those? Or a lot of bread? tbh I think sometimes also some children are just prone to it. My friend's little boy had problems until he was about 3 or 4 (possibly still does I'm not sure - but even when just on formula he suffered )

ataraxis · 22/02/2009 20:47

poppy, I have been mix feeding for a while and have only just (yesterday) got my periods back.

On the subject of the older ones, the adorable child that is ds2 got his hands on dh's clippers yesterday... good thing he has longish hair that covers the bit he decided to shave.

dizzy . My dh is pretty damn fab too (most of the time), I just don't tell him or the world enough . Will go and tell him now .

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/02/2009 20:51

dizzy wicked cake
I got Loola, inc carrycot and car seat for a bargain £95. Not collected it yet though.

PetitFilou1 · 22/02/2009 20:53

and I think I already said but still no period here

dizzydixies · 22/02/2009 20:53

oh lordy ataraxis - the old head shave one of the girls in DD1's class is only just beginning to look normal as she gave herself a haircut for starting school!!!

DH is delighted you're all off spreading the love

very of your Loola No1 I think DH would be exDH if I got another pram lol

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/02/2009 20:56

PetitFilou1 · 22/02/2009 20:57

Dizzy - thanks for the recipe I am going to make it on Thursday to take with us for our Anny on Saturday, I will hide it in DD's carrycot and put loads of blankets on the tin so He doesn't see it. I have to say I love mine very much and he is fantastic in every way even when he drives me nuts and I come on here to moan.

No1 -

Periods here and have been for 8 weeks.

Quick weaning question - at 6 months an they eat philly? I want to make DD some litle philly sarnies to eat for luch when we are on our way to the ferry?

TwilightSurfer · 22/02/2009 21:00
