Poppy I second Oops' question.

HP I've considered the new baby thing but DD1 has always been hard to handle so yes I think it is a factor but not really a huge one. DD1 is just very controling and once she "looses it" she can't recover on her own. I was able to manage when it was just her but now I have two so I don't think it's fair for DD2. Her pediatrician kept telling me she'd grow out of it.....well she hasn't. Honestly her actions and her verbal diatribes are quite like those one would expect of a teenager. But then the loss of control.....that's like a crazed lunatic.

Thankfully I am in a very good position. Both her pediatricians are excellent and her psychological eval will be under the supervision of two girls from my highschool that I know very well and admire. The therapy will take place at the newest facility in town and it's a "coaching" style therapy. She and I will be in a room together but I will have a bug in my ear so the therapist can talk me through helping her calm down.

I am really excited and just wish we could start the process tomorrow. But I think it will be after we get back from the beach.

CRAP...THE BEACH!! Sazzles that in 3 weeks. I am so not ready. I will probably be throwing things in a bag the morning we leave.

PF It's called Oxypowder pills and is also supposed to be good for IBS actually, eliminates a possible aggravator anyway. Do you do the whole 'processing' thing with hard-to-digest foods ie chopped/whizzed/cooked? I read that was supposed to help, something to do with insoluble fibre so no raw celery for example. My mum's had IBS for years, she was dairy-free for ages which helped and can now tolerate dairy, also found the Atkins diet helped so now she just knows what make her ill. Although I keep meaning to buy her a coeliac test kit as her IBS actually appeared out of the blue like Coeliac can.

News from me, my DB and family are flying home from Oz this week but not yet decided where they're going once they get off the plane! Have sent them some affordable house rental info in my area (because we are the innercity slumdwellers of the family) but if they have sense they'll go up to the Midlands where SIL's family are, it's got to be cheaper than Hampshire hasn't it?

LOL at Dizzy thinking her house is a complete state from those pics! Looked pretty immaculate to me. Sazzles Joining you on the cleaning challenge as we may have guests next weekend. I aim to do DD's bedroom and the bathroom (that's LOADS for me.)

LoveBuckets · 22/02/2009 13:27

TS that therapy thing sounds great, could have used one of those when DS1 was at his worst. Training for you both I guess! Is she sickeningly well-behaved at school or does she overreact there too? My DD is v overemotional, she's such a perfectionist and me and DH are quite lazy chilled out types, drives her mad because we just don't understand how important all the tiny, tiny things are.

TwilightSurfer · 22/02/2009 13:30

Buckets she is fairly well behaved at school. They've had maybe one or two slight-slight-slight problems but nothing like what I have. The thought there is that she's not comfortable enough with them to let it all hang out. On that note, she's actually better with me when we have had some time apart.

hello everobody. Still have the laptop here. Am secretly hoping that SIL will forget to come round and get it.
We didn't have naan burritos. DP did eventually get to the shop so we had normal torrtilla burritos. Very nice.
pertelote I think the other ladies have said everything far better than I could have. But my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

Sorry to cause alarm. Technically no chance I could be pg as had coil fitted at 6 wk check. DH just a bit when I mentioned that I was feeling sick and that made me , particularly as I haven't had a period since New Year. Am sure I'm tired because I don't go to bed early enough and DD1's been getting up earlier and earlier recently (in fact her b'day present is the clock that sazzles linked to a while ago. Thanks for that sazzles! Only difficulty has been keeping it under wraps as every morning we've been dying to tear the wrapping off and give it to her!).

poppysocks · 22/02/2009 14:44

X-post here and text dizzy!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 22/02/2009 14:51

poppy my friend has just had a 3rd child. This one and the 1st one while she had the coil fitted.
They say it is very rare to get caught, but twice.

ts glad youe back, looking forward to the new kitchen pics.
Hope you and dd1 get things sorted.

sazzles how strange the rash is worse at night and better during the day.Hope she is feeling ok.

Hi to everyone.

Marcus is doing well on the food front, we went to dh bro and family yesterday night for dniece birthday. His brother made a curry and Marcus grabbed my Naan bread and stuffed it in.
Today he ate dd tuna sandwich
Cough and chest bad again today though, Stepmum wondered if he has asthma??
Could he be allergic to the dog/hair??

AnnVan · 22/02/2009 15:01

Poppy, I was also going to say I've heard of occasional cases where people have conceived despite the coil. Maybe best to test?

TwilightSurfer · 22/02/2009 16:16

Poppy, DH's youngest brother was conceived after a similar IUD was set in MIL.

I feel a test coming.

VG Don't mean to rain on your parade but has he actually tried formula yet? Might be a fusspot like BabyCavy. I quit BFing at Christmas btw, never got totally relaxed positionwise and felt I'd proved I could do it to myself.

Ataraxis How about a plain longsleeved t-shirt with the suit? That way he can kick back and relax a bit more when he takes the jacket off. If something gets spilt on it, you can produce an identical one from your changing bag.

At last IKEA tomorrow!!!! On my own too! Shopping list includes Antilop highchair and LP storage for DH's playroom Music Room. Oh and anything else that catches my eye, let's be honest. I will then invoice myself for all this retail joy with a smear test at the GPs in the afternoon.

Pills are going fine, no drastic sudden urges, you get fair warning LOL. I did have a headache last night but that may be coincidence.

Managed to have a meal that both the kids ate tonight, I nearly fainted. Did spagbol, mixed in the sauce in two stages so DD (who hates anything dubious like tomato-based sauce) had a diluted version iyswim. DS1 has got fork twizzling down to a fine art, no manual dexterity issues there (phew). Bizarrely he is the neatest eater because he just hoovers compulsively, although DD is neat in every other way, I think she worries too much and ends up in a mess.

cyteen · 22/02/2009 18:16

Hello all Been having a nice weekend of getting stuff done, also just had a visit from friends we've not seen for a while so all has been most convivial.

Buckets sounds like your DS1 has got one up on me - I still can't eat a plate of anything spaghetti without it ending up all over my face, arms, legs, torso etc.

poppy sounds like a test might give you peace of mind! I took one recently even though the chances were virtually nil, just because the thought that I might be wigged me out so much. And as VG says there are plenty of little boy clothes available if you need them (apologies if this is No Laughing Matter).

TS re. the therapy, sounds like you and DD1 will be working together which can only be a good thing...I hope it proves a positive step for you both She is such a complex little girl, isn't she? I think she will be quite a formidable woman when she's grown.

TwilightSurfer · 22/02/2009 19:02

Spagetti must be in the air.....
That is what I am making for my bday dinner tomorrow!!!!! I make an absolute mess eating and COOKING IT. YUM YUM YUM

Reese has had peaches (puree style), a slice of cucumber (she just sucked on it), a biting cookie (that just disolves all over the place) and some fresh baked bread (which she wanted to shovel in). I think that means I've done good today with the weaning process. Her last diaper was but all good, right.

Might cold here today. The cat is looking in at me...I can hear his thinking, "COME ON! OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!!"

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 22/02/2009 19:32

ooh Dizzy - recipe please

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 22/02/2009 19:57

Buckets - can you check the packet to see if they are BF friendly? I suspect not but if they are will give them a try - I need to lose 10lb by the end of march!

cyteen · 22/02/2009 20:00

Yes please dizzy, I need that recipe!

dizzydixies · 22/02/2009 20:06

shall post receipe for you oops

bunch of cheeky sods, photo of tiny wee me now removed and as hotter pointed out I can be found on fb OR when you all come and in my immaculate stately home/castle/mansion/ etc etc in Scotland when you all come up to visit

VG lovely new car! what did you get? I fully appreciate how you're feeling re bfing as that was how I felt with DD2. I'm ok this time as I think I'm resigned to DD3 being my last although I don't want her to be so think I'll try to keep going for a wee while yet

TS kitchen sounds fantastic, can't wait to see it and also lucky you to have such great support for DD1 - I hope it brings you everything you hope for

buckets am needing to ask you a few questions re autism if you don't mind? feel free to tell me to feck off if you wish

poppy didn't make it to Argos today - had 2 lots of unexpected visitors and then DH got held up with terrible call so he was 2.5hrs late by which point I was climbing the ceiling

thank you all for your lovely comments re my dad - he is a lovely bloke even if he drives me insane I keep having to remind myself I moved 100miles away for a reason. Its a difficult time for him just now as its their anny on the 27th and his 70th on the 1st - hence the baking storm again lol

right, time for my hours worth of a gentler time with Larkrise
