hotpot you're making me feel guilty by mentioning wii fit! i haven't been on mine for well over a week (and we've only had it 2 weeks!) What activity do you do on there?

hotterpotter · 20/02/2009 11:01

Don't feel guilty Miamla Ours didn't come out for two months until two weeks ago, oops! I do mainly aerobic stuff, steps hula hoop and jogging. Have tried the balance games and am rubbish at them, I'm scared of the yoga and muscle exercises . DS thinks it's hilarious to see me jogging on the spot and he's awake now so better actually get the Wii out...

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 20/02/2009 11:05

hotpot right, well if you are, I will!
I'll have a quick session before albs arrives

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 20/02/2009 11:26

i've been excused from a session.. albs is on her way

hotterpotter · 20/02/2009 12:12

A likely story

All done, only trouble is I'm starving now, wonder what's for lunch?

pertelote · 20/02/2009 12:15

So we saw the surgeon yesterday, and Marianne's op is confirmed for 5th March. It's the full repair, i.e. open heart surgery with bypass machine. She'll be at Gt Ormond St for at least a week. I am as scared as I have ever been in my life.

Still, isn't it extraordinary how one can carry on with normal life and even be quite cheerful in patches even when everything is awful? I realise I am very lucky to have got to this age without having discovered this before

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 20/02/2009 12:24

ah ha, you see, i chose to have a snack whilst waiting for ALBS instead of a wii fit..that's where you went wrong hotpot!

i'm probably doing pasta for lunch here but i suspect i'll have eaten it all by the time you get down here!

pertelote i'm so sorry you're having to go through this with your little one

pertelote · 20/02/2009 13:37

Thanks Miamla. Have fun with ALBS! (Fun with Albs... I'd buy that book )

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/02/2009 15:27

pertelote I am rubbish with words, but I would like you to know I am thinking of you, I won't patronise or pretend to know what it must be like for you and how you must be feeling, But I know I also would be worried sick if this was my child going through this.
All I can say is Marianne will be in the best place, with the best people.
I hope having a date confirmed can help you prepare yourselves for it,in the best way you can. iykwim

hi,
a question: thr asnt d's the dr prescrubed were seroxat but all the stories i've heard say that they're awful - side effects, a bugger to come off. I don't know what to do. She chose those when i said I wanted ones i could take while bf but the name she used as paroxetine so i didn't twig. ARGH. am close to taking them as feeling crap (not going to tell what happened yesterday when feeling crap as i am very ashamed) and not functioning very well atm....

alittlebitshy · 20/02/2009 15:35

oops -meant to say THE ANTI d's...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/02/2009 15:48

albs
My dad takes seroxat/prozac/paroxetine - whatever you like to call it! He thinks it is amazing, suffers no side effects to speak of and he doesn't feel depressed anymore. I also had an ex who took it and he was fine with it too. So don't assume it won't be right for you. It might not be but you won't know unless you try. And .......don't be ashamed of anything you've done when down - I can assure you I've probably done worse. There are things I wouldn't say, even on here

alittlebitshy · 20/02/2009 16:36

pf as resident dr's wife, when it says take in morning with food, what would be different/a problem if i took in the eve? I've also read that taking anything like that before the longest break from feeding is a good idea, though obviously not essential.

CaptainCaveman · 20/02/2009 16:42

Oh pertelote, what a difficult situattion to be in. I will add you to my prayers, and if you don't mind, will ask the prayer thread to put you into their hearts and minds too?. I'll post you a link, come on over if you'd like some extra mn support ((((pertelote&marianne))))

O has an ear infection and ds1 is trying his best to really really annoy me by clambering all over me . O has got penicillin.

We have sold the hosue! And got the one we want!!

albs and expectant thinking and praying for both your situations too. Am currently on clomipramine and have no intention of coming off them any time soon, they keep me sane!!! Please don't feel bad about how you may/may not have behaved, the positive thing is the step(s) you have taken to acknowledge how you have been feeling. Hugs for you both too

DS1 claims he loves you all and wants to give you one of these

CaptainCaveman · 20/02/2009 16:55

Pertelote it's here

albs, the reason to take with food is usually due to how the meds are designed to be absorbed ie. in a less or more acidic environment depending on whether taken with food or on empty tummy. hth?

CaptainCaveman · 20/02/2009 17:00

Fantastic news on house offer cc vg Hi, I bet your ds feels so grown up. He really does sound sweet.

sazzles so glad you got a referral, hopefully you can get to the bottom of it.
Pasta and tuna sounds good.

Today ds as had
Banana
Avacado
Pumpkin
Prunes (tiny bit)
Orange segment

I was planning on just one meal a day for now, but he is going mad for everything, so he had had breakfast, snack and bit of tea.
Also made sure I offered BF a lot today, and it does def need to be quiet.(very easily distracted now)

Also grabbed some of my sandwich crust, didnt even chew just swallowed big chunk and then went for some more.
Also grabbed and ate the little biscuit you get at the side of your tea in M&S.
I think I have raised yet another food lover.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/02/2009 18:19

Hi All

Sazzles sorry to here you are so exhausted but at least you have a referal. Hi L great typing!

Albs - maybe ring and chat to another doc in the surgery if you are not sure about taking them.

No1 That sounds a bit like DD with food for the day - she had muesli and apple for breakfast, then she snacked on my lunch avocado, bread, lettuce, ricecakes and a dried apple ring. She also had a drink of water out fo my glass, she refused her cup when she saw the glasses arrive.

CC Am over the moon that all is going to plan.

Hi LWFH

VG Your DS1 sounds very grown up and responsible.

Training went well and I'm not as unfit as I thought just VERY undertoned Have booked another session for 2 weeks time but have to keep a honest food diary - no more peanut butter sandwiches with my daytime BF - 2 glasses of water with each feed then fruit or yogurt So in preparation MIL and I went to Cirencester for lunch! Dh just came home and the IL's are coming over at 8.15 and we are going out for a drink! This time I feel ready for it and am looking forward to going out with both my hands for me and a handbag with my stuff only in it! [bad mummy emoticon]

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 20/02/2009 18:39

DD now chatting to cat and occasionally sucking him - DH holding her and not batting an eyelid I am going to have to remove her!
