MMargot I am dreaming of scallops.....I made a baked cheesecake with fresh raspberries on Friday and it was gone by Sat (between me and dh ).

I am up so late. Oh dear.

Sorry I have forgotten everyone's important news except garlic8 scallops. When can I come to your dinner party, Margot*. I think I would do grilled king prawns, jerk chicken on salad and creme brulee.

MerryMarigold · 03/03/2009 21:47

sorry, forgot to say good to see you back autumnlady and my mum wishes i'd called my ds2 james (we nearly did)!!! you sound good.

dozy, what is blusher?! i don't even have a bath most days...(had one tonight hence up late trying to dry hair out, i don't own a hairdryer).

MerryMarigold · 03/03/2009 21:51

zonedout, my 3 year old still has to sleep with one of us! but we only co-slept till 7 months then he was fine in a cot till we brought the bed in (he was 2 and a half) when he started sleeping with us again (from early hours of the morning onwards).

ok, 3 posts is enough. bed now. NOW.

SausageRoleModel · 04/03/2009 01:05

really ought to be asleep not mn-ing, but yu know, seeing as I'm here "hello!"

Ruth sorry f is giving you grief - dont know if it will help any, but we invested in a baby swing for WeeT (who is colicky/windy and sometimes cries a lot in pain in evenings so wont settle) It is a godsend. You can see her trying so hard not to fall asleep in it sometimes, but she cnnot resist the to and fro and to and fro and to and zzzzz. They can be a bit expensive for what they are but luckly MIL offered to get this for us and I am so chuffed with it. May not be what Fin needs but worth a try if nothing else works?

Daisy - sorry about the return of the GB pain, but thanks for the heads up on the closer to nature bottles - I think (cautiously!) we may be on to a winner.I saw these tommy tippee ones in shop and (cynical old hag that I am) assumed they would be a triumph of marketing spin and hype over design but on your (and bumble's) recommendation, I bought two ad we did actually get her to take 30ml from one today (hurrah!!!) and without the screaming abdabs that we got when we tried any other bottle.

Now I have one week until a theatre date which will have to cancel unless we can get her taking a whole feed from a bottle so wish us luck.

The idea of being able to express some milk and have my boobs back just for one evening is such a light at the end of the tunnel! right really must sleep now - see you in the morning.

Oblomov · 04/03/2009 08:06

Morning. Shouldn't be here really. I am late. Everywhere I go. I am late.
Would be late for Monkeys scallops or Merrys prawns if I wasn't careful ! That would be unbearable !!
See you guys later.

Ceebee74 · 04/03/2009 08:49

Morning ladies

Pinky so glad you are having a better week

Zoned I hope you are ok - you sound

Rutho sorry you are having problems with Fin - always remember 'it is just a phase' I think the sling is a good idea tbh - even if it doesn't send him to sleep, at least you can get on and do other stuff!!

New jeans announcement Whilst shopping yesterday, I found a pair of jeans to rival the Hula ones....M&S do a very similar style that sit on the waist and are only £12 I bought a very very dark blue pair yesterday for 'best'

coolkat · 04/03/2009 08:49

Morning ladies.

'Oh what a night' I am shattered, Becca seemed to wake every hour last night. Fed at 2 and 6 but woke up inbetween. Got to the point where I was saying under my breath FFS just sleep so tired today. I have physio I know me and DH are heading for argument. I am sure its teeth thats causing Becca problems. Constant rubbing ear, fists in mouth, should I have given her Calpol? WWYD? She is also very snuffily again. .

Sorry for me post, be back later need to get ready

Pinkglow · 04/03/2009 09:11

Henry got up and fed loads last night at 3am but thankfully went back down again - hope its a growth spurt.

I was a complete co-sleeper and my mum was very attachment parenting with me and im quite independent and sleep well although my mum said I was still going into her bed at 5 and my parents had to then move me into my own bed before they came to bed but that was just me - my other siblings stopped doing this at a much earlier age

We might have to sell our lovely sling on e-bay though - Henry hates it, plus he hates the baby bjorn, very annoying the other week when we wanted to walk around Chessington zoo using it. Ended up just carrying him in our arms.

SausageRoleModel good luck with the expressing after finding those bottles - I see ppl using them everywhere

Morning all

Thanks for your lovely comments and for welcoming me back

J is teething now too - lots of dribble and hands permanently in mouth but won't take to a teether. He's started on some pureed food as he is a hungry man but when I got him weighed he's only 12lbs 5oz! He's just long and skinny (lucky thing!) I got told to bring him back in 2 weeks as they think he's a little underweight but I think he's just fine and healthy as he is.

Re: HV's - I can't believe what some of these HV's have been saying to people! makes me so as it's a difficult time for all of us and such bad advice is just not needed. I've only seen a HV twice since he was born and that suits me just fine. She didn't install me with confidence then so I figure I'm better off without. Everyone seems to be doing a fantastic job so big hugs all round!!

xx

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 11:07

morning all.

DH got a call from his boss this morning....the board of directors had a meeting yesterday and agreed to get us covered immediately on the company health plan (there is usually a six month qualifying period) so I can get this gallbladder op done sooner! So, I've seen my GP this morning for a referral and am meeting the consultant tomorrow and could get the operation as early as next week . I was feeling a bit guitly about jumping the queue, but my GP reassured me that most elective ops like this are done outwith NHS times so I'm not forcing someone else to have a longer wait. I got some more tablets from him as well that I can take alongside the cocodamol

Another crappy night of pain for me, and feeding for bumble (although he did sleep from 7.30 till 1.30!!) so we are having another easy day here. DH bought me a lavender wheat bag yesterday so painkillers a duvet and crap TV is the order of the day here.

Who was it recommended Lush Dream Cream? I got a trial pot and thought it was lovely and made a big difference to DDs eczema, so I bought some more. I put some on bumble's cradle cap yesterday and some of it has gone completely this morning!! and there isn't any peanut oil in it now so suitable for most skin types

OP posts:
chocolategal · 04/03/2009 11:29

Excuse me for being silly is the lush dream cream from the lush shop??
daisy you deserve to be bumped up the waiting list for your op, YOU are a priority!
Sorry for your bad night coolkat, hope you & DH avoided the arguement. I am always like that when I have had a bad night, it's like I resent his sleep. I find it's better to have the arguement & get it out of the way!

Well I am going to The Killers concert tomorrow so will be the first time I have left E overnight, I am really not looking forward to leaving him. He will be with MIL who I know will look after him well but it's still a thought.

barbareebaa · 04/03/2009 11:41

Hello ladies!

Don't know if you've seen this, but it always makes me smile...
Great news Daisy, as chocgal says, you most certainly are a priority!

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 11:50

yes it is chocolategal. It's quite dear, but a little goes a long way. There is a wash as well that I've been using on DD in the bath and that is making a huge difference to her skin in conjunction with the cream.

OP posts:
chocolategal · 04/03/2009 12:04

thank you daisy, will have a look for that now theres no peanut oil in it.

LadyBuzz · 04/03/2009 12:22

Hi everyone,
Daisy don't feel bad think of not being in pain anymore! You deserve it!

Barbs lol at that little girl

Chocolategirl hope you enjoy the concert.

Coolkat hope you get a better nights sleep.

Pinky glad you are having a better week.

I'm taking Jay to the docs today he has had awful nappies for a week and keeps being sick and not finishing his feeds which is very unlike him. He seems OK in himself but just want to be sure.

Had a lovely day yesterday with SIL, this might sound mad to alot of you but she came aand cleaned my house, Not in the traditional sense but spiritually. Said there was alot of bad feeling in here probably stemming from the previous occupants.
So there was alot of chanting and burning sage and incencse and I have alot of crystals and Rose quartz everywhere now.
She said the kitchen was a horrible dark place and hopefully will have a better feel about it now. I know its a little weird but I do believe this stuff and SIL is very very good at it. She also told me to make a little altar for my mum to invite her back into my life as she is sad not to be a part of it. I didn't realise I had to invite her so I will give it a try.

Sorry I do realise I must sound like a crazy hippy

chocolategal · 04/03/2009 12:38

I have to say i am very skeptical of these things LB but i have a couple of friends who really believe in it and it brings them comfort and reassurance so maybe i should give it a go!

Hope J gets on ok at drs

Has anyone bought or been given a really nice Godmother gift?
I'd like to get something nice and a bit different for E's??

Dozymare · 04/03/2009 12:54

buzz that's lovely. I am very much into spiritual things. how can I get it done to my house?

(I do feel a presence in our house, not a bad one but am curious as to what or who)

LadyBuzz · 04/03/2009 13:09

Dozy I will ask SIL if she knows how to go about it!
She said she couldn't feel a presence as such just alot of bad feeling.
She has just bought a house and can hear children crying in it!

AutumnLady · 04/03/2009 13:11

Dozy - your naming of DH to TH made me laugh so much that I'm definitely adopting that from now on!!!

LB - I'm a bit of a crazy hippy too and can always 'feel' something at home but can never put my finger on what it is. Have lived there for 8 years and it's still as strong as it ever was not bad, just 'something'.

Am going to sign off people and go home to my little man , back tomorrow..

hugs to all that need them

xx

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 13:28

LB, not crazy at all. My sister had a presence in her house; ornaments falling off shelves, pictures coming off walls etc, but with force/direction behind them so it wasn't just a fall iyswim. My sister also fell downstairs, breaking her wrist and two ribs (and had to crawl to the phone as she couldn't get up, poor thing) and can't understand how she did it and said it felt like she was pushed but there was no-one else in the house at the time . She had a friend round who "sees dead people" who confirmed there was a strong spritual presence. Although she cleansed the house and the moving stuff stopped, they had lots of bad luck when living there; lots of accidents, illnesses, broken bones and job losses. It was quite freaky really.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 13:32

Enjoy the killers concert chocolategal. I love the song on their last album that goes "are we human, or are we dancers". I'm sure E will be fine, and you'll come home all liberated about the fact that you can leave your baby when you need/want to without too much hassle and

one baby asleep, wanted to get DD down so I could nap...no such luck. she just screamed the house down and is now quietly wrecking things in the dining room!

OP posts:
misdee · 04/03/2009 13:40

i'm stuck at home today so thought i'd drop in.

ladybuzz nah you dont sound mad to me. think its a lovely thing to cleanse you house, can she come and do mine? lol.

tegan what size tots bots and wraaps?

lacksadaisey take care of that gallbladder, lisad123 had to have hr removed when her dd2 as very little and was very ill.

well i'm at home all day as sophie has been running a low grade fever all night, and has been sick this morning. very mucous-y again.
she is a very strange baby compared oto my others, and i dont mean that in a bad way. she doesnt like loud noises, which is hard when there are 3 othe noisey kids in the house, doesnt like new places at all, screams in terror. she is very clingy and quite unsettled at times.

also she has a huuuge attachment to my long hair. she likes to wrap her fingers in it and snugge upto it to sleep. but i'm planning on cutting it veryshort again soon. so what will she cling onto then?

Pinkglow · 04/03/2009 13:41

ohhhhhh I love all that stuff LB

my dads a baptist minister and has been called out before. Interesting story for dozymare and anyone that knows sutton - two years ago the local CoE vicar had to do 13 Exorcisms in the space of 12 months in the St Nicks centre - all kinds of werid stuff was happening in the back of the shops.
