dizzy when I was little I hated having my hair washed and brushed - it was very thick and tangly - and I'm afraid in the end my mum gave me a two inch crop out of desperation

Buckets the cinema trip sounds brilliant

no1 glad to hear Marcus is picking up a bit. Did the docs ever establish why he wasn't weeing?

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 18:10

I might also mention that DS1 was on hungry baby formula and was probably on 3 meals a day at this age. But ... he is on the autistic spectrum and in hindsight it was almost certainly compulsive eating on his part! I have always dreamed of having a fruitbowl on the kitchen table but it will never happen because if it is out, he will eat it.

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 18:23

bucketss cinema sounds fab

when I say upping the hairwashing I mean from never to about once or twice a week but shall start singing mermaid songs and if it still doesn't work shall head off down the style a la Cyteen!!

cyteen · 16/02/2009 18:24

dizzy I should warn you that I never forgave her for it

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 18:27

lol, her hair is lovely when its washed too, all shiney soft curls - I just cannot stand it when its full of snot/food etc and I have to wash it

CaptainCaveman · 16/02/2009 18:32

buckets the cinema trip sounds wonderful, glad you were all able to enjoy it

pertelote I agree with the other ladies - the dietician is speaking from his/her rectum. Please please go with what you think is best for her, after all, you know her better than anyone, especially someone who is regurgitating out-dated claptrap.

vg how are you getting on with the officious letter? Do you have some mn headed paper?

Got O weighed today at babyclinic and he is now 16lb 10oz. I thought he was quite big, but no, lounging around on the 25th centile having previously been on the 50th . The HV very politely said I obviously breed children who have digestive systems like race horses and that adding a few extra calories to his food may help him sleep better. Theory there being that he doesn't get enough calories during the day therefore is waking at night to get some more. So tonight, at her suggestion, I added a tablespoon of creme fraiche to his tea which was hoovered up with the usual enthusiasm

Had a slightly higher offer on the house but really hoping to get a tiny bit more! Prayers much appreciated.

CaptainCaveman · 16/02/2009 18:40

Good gracious - it's nearly new thread time AGAIN! Either some time this evening or by tomorrow morning I reckon?

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 18:44

well Sazzles says she'll be on later so I'll bet on tonight!!!

sat down to start listing some stuff on ebay - am now unpaid matty [meep] and have realised have left sodding camera at my friends house - ah well, all good intentions lol

Dylan sat at the table in her new Anitlop IKEA high chair tonight and LOVED it, she didn't have any solids today as was too tired and too interested in her sisters to be bothered but the chair is a very welcome addition to the junkinthisbloodyhouse dinig capacity of Chez Dixie

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 20:05

No1 - lovely soppy moment Dylan strokes me when she's feeding and I have to admit its the best part of my day

cyteen · 16/02/2009 20:07

Ahhh lovely, I love the milk drunk look We still get it occasionally and I make sure to cherish every one as you never know when it'll be the last

AnnVan · 16/02/2009 20:21

Seb still does milk drunk. but then he is younger than your LOs. So note to self: enjoy it while it lasts.
no1 I have been having several 'he's getting so big, he's growing up' moments myself over the last couple of weeks.
Little man at MIL's. Am going to pop over and pick him up, although I have to tak a fresh vest and top as he has apparently weed all over himself.

No1 - we still occasionally get the milk drunk look - it still malts my heart. tonight I just watched her sleeping in my arms thinking she had grown so much but I must not forget she is still a very little baby.

CC- praying the slightly higher offer comes forth soon.

VG - yours boys are adorable.

Dizzy - DD loves her sntilop too - she can sit and watch me in the kitchen whilst truing bits and pieces of what I am cooking.

Buckets - pleased you managed to relax and enjoy the cinema - what did you see?

We had baby yoga today and DD and I had a great time. She is sitting very well on her own now and loved the other babies - she yelled so lound in excitement at the first LO to arrived she made her cry. She also has horrid nappy rash she is a stealth poo-er and it doesn't smell so inbetween the ned of baby yoga nad getting home, about an hour, she did a poo and when I got her home and changed her she ahd a huge welt on her bottom where the poo wasn't on the liner. I have washed her in Rooibos tea tonight (my mum swears by it apparently it is antiseptic and drying too) after her bath we dried her bottom with a hairdryer then plastered it in lansinoh to keep the wee off during the night.

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 16/02/2009 20:26

I apologise profusely for my atrocious grammar and spelling I have absolutely NO excuse.

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 20:27

at your Antilop Dizzy but no way am I going near our new Ikea til next week (so cunning of them to open just before half term.) Think it will make a big difference to Kurt's eating though, he so loves to watch the others. Currently rocks back and forth (and sometimes round the room) in his rocking/bouncy chair in a complete joy-frenzy at mealtimes. His laugh still sounds quite unpractised and shy though, not the filthy Sid James gurgle his big sis had.

Did anyone see Morrissey on The One Show tonight? Must make DH get his new album. Nobody would let me have Morrissey for a middle name for either of my boys - it's not too late to add it to Kurt's name is it?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/02/2009 20:30

Aww oops glad you enjoyed baby yoga. about nappy rash.

sazzles any news on dd1 rash or cure??
How is she feeling??

cc I too will pray for a better offer

dizzy Marcus strokes too, his arm/hand comes up and he stokes me in a circle motion every time he feeds and on both sides. It is beautiful and soo sweet.
oh I am teary eyed again goodness what is happening to me.

what happened to the 3 sixty highchair??
I love the ikea one but dh wont have it so just ordered a trip trap look alike thing.

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 20:31

Ooh Oops Rooibos eh? Have heard of chamomile tea on wipes before. We saw Madagascar 2 which I thought was hilarious but DH disagrees. But he's happy because he came home with a Picturehouse popcorn box he fell in love with and says he wants to laminate and convert into a lampshade.

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 20:32

my friend went yesterday Buckets so she dropped it in today - I had asked her to get me a tray for it but she's forgotten so I just pushed Dylan right up to the table inbetween DD1 and DD2 - they were ALL so amused it was lovely, I doubt that will last though

oops was going to ask if you were a bit tipsy

absolutely NOT too late to chuck Morrissey in there Buckets - as a woman who has named her DAUGHTER after a musician with a very male name I wouldn't dare have an opinion on it at all!

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 20:32

No1 Are you sure you're not pg or pre-menstrual?

poppysocks · 16/02/2009 20:35

Hope the Dixie ladies are all tucked up in bed, Dizzy .

So sorry to hear about the dietician's pronouncement pertelote. Nothing really to add but DD2 (who I think was born the same day or very close at least?), is onto three 'meals', but only as of today. A bit of baby cereal for breakfast, some mushed veg for lunch and some mushed fruit with yoghurt for tea. That was today but yesterday 'lunch' was a few non-buttered corners of my roll and 'tea' was some offcuts of the peppers I was chopping for our meal (although that didn't go down well!).

Glad you and Marcus are feeling stronger now No1.

Lovely, lovely boys VG.

Good day today with NO tantrums from DD1 and DD2's weigh-in shows that she's put on more than a pound in a fortnight! Hate to say that a HV is right, but the decent weight gain has coincided with weaning. 15lb 9oz! Don't get me started on the vaccinations though... After much argy bargy, E is being 'fitted in' for her 3rd lot tomorrow, 3 months late .
