aaargh. Someone motivate meeeeeee!!

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 09:55

ah bless VG, have another big bosomly hug from me I blame Larkrise, always makes me weepy and long for a simpler age. am glad you got a better sleep though, thats great news, here's hoping he's at least half way round the corner!!!

in terms of putting him in his own room I can honestly say it was the best thing we did - we had no choice though as our bedroom isn't big enough for her cot and she was head to toe in the moses basket ours is a small house though and it only takes me 4 steps to get from my bed to her cot so not sure if I'd be so sure about it otherwise - although I did the same with the other two!!

the HV (who I actually DO like) suggested that it was time too as maybe DH and I were disturbing her without our moving about/snoring etc and if she was in a light phase she would be woken it - its certainly helped and I don't see that it would do any harm to try it at this stage - you can always go back if you needed to

Sazz poor DD1 whether or not her skin is the reason for her waking it certainly won't be helping. Is the screaming a nightmare or are we talking night terrors?

CC am glad you had a lovely birthday very of the child free time!

thank you all for your hair washing suggestions, am not sure what to do. DD2 is very strong willed and not keen on having things done unless she's absolutely certain that she agrees to it. we have a seperate bath/shower and although she's been in the shower with me one it wasn't a huge success and as she adores her bath I'd have to take her out the bath into the shower to do her hair, its not ideal but I'll try it

there is no way I'd get her to wear swimming goggles, as much as she love swimming and can have 'swim' in the corner bath once DD1 is out of it her head is still a no go

DH has less patience than me with the whole hair washing, having had the same hair style since he was 12 he has no understanding of long hair and how to cope with it

her hair is currently in a bob of sorts and sits just below her jaw line, its such a crazy curly effort that I'm not sure how it would look short either

I suppose I'll just keep going with the washing more often until its less of a drama maybe when she's about 16!!

Expectant oh oh oh how exciting!! I announced to DH yesterday that I wouldn't get pregnant this year but would wait until next year so I have a 3yr gap again, DD2 would be in school and Dylan would have her nursery funding through - he didn't speak to me for about 10 minutes

should have been seeing lovely poppy today but due to terrible night am shattered, I also had to get DH to help with the girls this morning so he didn't get to bed till 9am and therefore I can't ask him to get up and collect DD1 at 3pm. Was going to ask my friend to do it but she already has plans - cheek of her!!! will need to be a raincheck which is very apt in the weather today!

CaptainCaveman · 16/02/2009 10:01

ann get off yo ass and get thee out the door (but do get dressed first, don't be doing an 'oops' on us!)

dizzy sorry for your rough night, here have a hug ((((dizzy)))) It's quite bright down in the Midlands, how about I send you up some sunshine? If I just stick my head out of the window and blow a bit, the weather should be with you around 1pm?

Ds1 is off to grandma's today, so I shall treat myself to a trip into town to go bra shopping. Whooppee. Need some non-bf bras for going back to work, so I don't look like some saggy breasted old sow!

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 10:07

off you pop Ann, you'll be glad you did, just don't bother reading my last post first or you'll be here till next Sunday - sorry all [blush)

CC thanks, that would be great as would be nice for a walk to blow away some cobwebs
and just so you know it'll take more than an underwire to stop my norks sitting on my knees

VG brilliant, absolutely brilliant photo!!! Am loving your DS1 carrying E in his rucksac - did DS2 like it? would he consider building up his muscles by calling both of them when I'm over in april - we'll even fling him a few Euros for his efforts!!

what a great dog too

my beauties are driving me insane this morning [grrrrrr]

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/02/2009 11:11

vg that pic is fantastic, how sweet of him to carry E. bless em.
beautiful dogs too.

sazzles your poor dd1, I bet that is really bothering her.
I agree about dermatologist too.
hope you get some answers.

dizzy my dd used to be bothered about water in her eyes when rinsing hair. (despite the fortune on swim lessons)
so i used to have a towel ready to dry eyes after every jug of water. she has learnt this week to tip head back.
cc glad you had good day and eveing.

ann i too am trying to motivate, am dressed at least

*sambo m was so much better when he went in his own room tbh.
he screamed and screamed at about 11pm lots of wind. dh said' thats it no more fomula'
he had bad wind and screamed like this last time he has some begining of jan when i hurt my back.
he then slept till 7.

*expectant thats great news, very though

*dizzy will you go for another then,is your dh the type to win over/talk round??

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/02/2009 11:14

*cyteen that card is very sweet.
i didnt get one so i am glad i didnt put effort into making one.

ts hope kitchen is coming on well.

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 11:16

No1 I've always wanted 4, never hidden that from him at. He says he doesn't want any more but then he never wanted kids in the first place and he adores our 3 even if he is shattered and worries more about the money/ providing them with things than I do.

have told him if he's serious and doesn't want a 4th he's got a year to get the snip or become celibate as I'll be coming off the pill!!

its all about the money, practicalities etc isn't it - definately not this year but will have a think about it again next yeat and see how I feel then but I've wanted 4 since I was little so don't think I'll change my mind [meep]

how is Marcus doing today?

dizzydixies · 16/02/2009 11:18

VG sponging water/ holding cloth/ tipping head back etc all tried to no avail I'd frankly bathe a cat . roll on summer when I can just throw them out the back and hose her down

sambo303triesforScotland · 16/02/2009 11:26

dizzy have you tried just not washing it and let her friends tell her she smells?

no1 good for M on the sleep front

vg what lovely boys, you must be very proud!

we've just had a 2 hour nap, feel slightly more human

sambo she's only 2 so they ALL smell of something in my experience - whether its playdoh, my perfume or toast I don't think even I can start a whispering campaign about my own dd

VG am soooooooooo tempted to buy them, have been swithering for a while now. Shall wait your opinion andtofindoutwhetherornotyoucanburnthem?!?!

was it the £50 box set? hence my swithering, if you don't mind me asking? My problem is that I'm not sure I can think of a food that repluses me there are plenty I don't like but nothing I wouldn't consider eating if the need was great enough

and preen away lady, puff out that chest, the boys are gorgeous!!

yes, absolutely - we need more cross stitching/tapestry and flower pressing like activities please!

although what a drama last night with poor Dorcus and that cad! am glad it all came good in the end

AnnVan · 16/02/2009 13:47

Feel a bit lost now. I haven't watched any of Lark Rise.

We long for the past because we view it through rose tinted period dramas. It's easy to imagine those times were simple if you think life was like being Elizabeth Bennet. But what if you were a mum of 5, 3 of whom die before reaching five years of age, and you have to work in cotton mills for a pittance, and there's no chance of medical care if you get ill, no benefits if you are incapacitated and can't work? That's how I cure my longing for simpler times

Now to pay some attention to my cross stitch...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/02/2009 13:47

dizzy I too have always said 4/5 but Dh is the sort that won't budge on things like this. we will see
Marcus seems much much more brighter today, thank goodness.
Chest still sounds a bit rough.

vg ooh excited re the cds, let us know what you think.

ann glad you went out, I have just been out with mine and dog and dsis kids and their new puppy. Feel better for it.

Just had some homemade soup too.
Made it yesterday, bit of pot, sweet pot, carrot, parsnip, orange pepper. Was very tasty.
Still scared to eat stuff, and want to keep the weight off now and carry on.
Glad you feel bit more human sambo sleep makes things so much clearer.

AnnVan · 16/02/2009 13:48

Oooh - Elizabeth Bennet. Maybe I'll dig out Pride & Prejudice instead.
Decisions, decisions
