sazzles, that is a bizarre thing to remember. Were they particularly exciting conference calls

sambo, I'm with Cyteen. Just go, it sounds like you could do with it. Your dp does not get a badge of honour for being knackered, cranky and listening to his nosey knowitall sister.

Oh, New Orleans. We were there for New Year 2002 and it was just fantastic. My only trip to America and the first night, we're sitting in a small Rough-Guide recommended middle of the road restaurant and the waitress sidles up and says. 'Hi, I just thought you'd like to know that you're sitting next to Steven Spielberg.'
Apparently she'd picked us out of the queue because we'd looked the least likely to gawp.

ataraxis · 05/02/2009 22:19

Too damn tired.

Took ds1 to Taekwondo this evening. He loved it

Sibh · 05/02/2009 22:25

When the new national broadband rollout plan (the one that replaces the old new natinal broadband rollout plan ) is finished I might actually be able to post in sync with the conversation.

Is there any news from Mr Cyteen?

This is vote three for Sambo heading off to her parents. I did it lots when DS was small, not least because I was on leave and when else would I get a chance to spend time with my parents, being looked after?

Toddler rules can be borrowed very effectively here, I think. If you think someone is going to say you can't do something, just do it without asking .

ataraxis · 06/02/2009 07:45

ann, your haircut is fantastic!

We are totally utterly and completely snowed in (well, we're not cos we borrowed a 4 wheel drive for the weather, but otherwise...) well over a foot of snow on the ground here.

and all the children are still asleep

sambo303 · 06/02/2009 08:06

morning all, scalding hot tea all round, think some of you will need it this morning

ataraxis of your snow, ours is fast disappearing and dp was really hoping for another day off work

ann your hair is fab and really suits your face (how cute is Seb in his bath!)

ts read your posts on your DD1's behaviour with horror, I thought that was teenage stuff but seems I have a lot to learn

buckets we may have cracked the constant waking with the fleece - last night dp settled ds when he woke at 9.30pm (took an hour but was fairly easy with dummy and guitar) then ds woke at 1.20am and I gave him a bottle of ebm (at room temp!) then he woke around 3ish and I put his dummy in. And that was it, and then he was up at 6.45am. Wonderful. We also had a full sleep suit on him rather than a footless one and the radiator was on at a wee peep. Not going to get too excited but dp thinks we have turned a corner

I still think I'd like to stay with my parents for a few days just to get a complete break, I am absolutely knackered. Will negotiate with dp later, but feel things are looking up

CaptainCaveman · 06/02/2009 08:21

Morning Hope everyone is ok?

ann that hair really suits you, it looks fabulous - what a dramatic change

No further snow here so it looks like school is back on today.

O seems better today too

Morning

It snowed most of the night then at 3 am when DD fed it was raining not we have white out again so that has killed our plans to go to town for coffee and a swim later. I cannot even see the end of the drive and it's not that far away!

Sazzles - DH stuck his hand out the window and gently removed the snow from out sky dish - no way am I going to be in all day without a music channel or 2.

PetitFilou1 · 06/02/2009 08:58

Ok I've got three children at home today as school and pre school are shut (pf braces herself)

Oh and Toby cut his first tooth so was awake for an hour in the night

and dd got up

and ds1 got up at 545

aaaaargh

In the style of TS the tv is ON

oopsacoconut · 06/02/2009 08:59

oohh Ann just saw your piccies you look great, it suits you. What did DP think?

PetitFilou1 · 06/02/2009 08:59

annvan I like your hair and dare I say it I think it is better than previous style Looks very shiny

sambo303 · 06/02/2009 09:16

vg yes sheep skin (well, lamb actually thanks lamb!) not polar fleece - your poor ds, hope you manage to get to a GP today

ataraxis I think you can probably find out more about the LNB and how to clear snow off it, and lots more about fixing stuff over on dadsnet

pf congrats on the tooth

poppysocks · 06/02/2009 09:21

Love the hair ann. Your'e inspiring me to be brave at my hair appointment tomorrow... Can't believe how much like you Seb looks btw. Gorgeous!

Agree VG - if you're going to be snowed in, you may as well be properly. Hope you get to the GP ok though. Absolutely no snow here. A few minor flurries during the week but nothing for a day or so and beautiful sunshine today (although fecking freezing if that's any consolation ).

Sympathies pf. CBeebies is a wonderful thing. Some of it is educational...

So pleased to hear you had a better night sambo.

Glad to hear Emma was toasty last night sazzles. So hope you get some oil soon - either that, or are able to wear you entire wardrobe in one go!

Miamla · 06/02/2009 10:04

sounds like the babies have been on babiesnet and decided that sleeping might be a good idea! I think DS slept better last night. I'm still full of a cold so didn't even try him in his cot but i seem to remember fewer feeds..maybe! how ridiculous that i can't remember even roughly how many times we woke up

I am really not amused with our neighbours this morning. they're doing major building work (half way through a 4yr project) and they woke DS and I up at 8.30. I'd only just got back to sleep after DP left at 6am

buckets i took a double take when i read
"LOL you can't feel them when they're in"

off to rescue a baby who has managed to trap himself under one of the chairs hmm...

Miamla · 06/02/2009 10:05

oh and ann your hair looks lovely!
