Okay DH just read that and said it sounds bad - I have no inclination to lose weight to please DH (because he loves me as I am) but am worried what this other man thinks . He finds all this random chat wierd - he asks why we can't pick a topic an stick with it for a while???

TwilightSurfer · 05/02/2009 21:25

oops tell him we have the ability to use mulitple areas of our brains at once and find it nice to be able to communicate with others in the same way.

LOL you can't feel them when they're in! I used to supply these to Virgin Atlantic's first class back in my working life, Richard Branson wears 'em! Hmmm, happy wife, super-immune baby and a good night's sleep - is he mad?

LOL at Oops's DH - this board is basically a line of post-it notes from our brains.

oopsacoconut · 05/02/2009 21:33

Thank Sazzles but that made me sleep when I was forced to do Accountancy for A-levels which matched my sciences perfectly

Buckets · 05/02/2009 21:34

Sazzles Ever read/seen en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christie_Malry's_Own_Double_Entry this?

longwayfromhome · 05/02/2009 21:38

hello all, thanks for the greetings, and let me hand round some media lunas (little croissants). DS farting on my lap, very cute.

Things going OK here, missing home a lot, but I have started working in the mornings at my PIL house while they look after DS - so I am on hand to feed, change etc, going well - my MIL takes him to the park, we've had a couple of tearful returns but OK in the end. Just takes some getting used to, and I am very lucky that they are doing this for us.

We still go to baby group - basically a load of mums in the park, so nice.

Bath and bed now. DH gone to the back end of nowhere for the day, but at least he will be back some time tonight.

oopsacoconut · 05/02/2009 21:40

it's snowing heavily here - we have had 1/2 an inch since it started 25minutes ago we could be housebound again tomorrow!

TwilightSurfer · 05/02/2009 21:46

while i was amdist the blizzardy conditions yesterday one of my family members mentioned your blizzardy conditions. now being back here we are expecting 60+ degrees this weekend. from 12 to 60+ in a week my body might go into shock.

longway, i'm jotting your comment down too, "backend of nowhere."

ladies you're on a role today with witty-ISMs.

wow oops hope you have plenty of chocolate teabags in

longwayfromhome · 05/02/2009 21:48

ooooh yes, and another vote for breast feeding here too. I got D&V, then DH got D&V but DS didn't.

longwayfromhome · 05/02/2009 21:50

not that this is a great arguement in fact.

longwayfromhome · 05/02/2009 21:50

being based on puking, but you never know

sambo303 · 05/02/2009 21:51

yes sazzles not really a lighthearted read!

longwayfromhome · 05/02/2009 21:53

Waffle. We had a nice day today. DS was mostly sunny, we got some jobs done, with only a small amount of protest he is now asleep. The house is relatively clean. I have already cooked dinner.

Still 25 degrees here, and it's nearly 8pm

oopsacoconut · 05/02/2009 22:00

Longway - I am no longer talking to you I am usually home in South Africa at this time of year

Today's random fact: It was exactly 1 year ago today we had our second scan and DD had turned from a heartbeat in a sac to a alien baby with legs and arms and the scan lady very kindly snuck me a piccie as we had been there often and we had a happy outcome Alien baby currently farting like a drunk in a pub upstairs.

la la la la la. I think that I would swap hot and humid for cold and snowy, although I must admit that it is nice just being able to leave the house without worrying about coats and blankets etc.

Off now to read a book or watch TV, how nice, a whole evening free, there are things that I ought to do, but I don't think that I will.

Lots of hugs and thoughts for those having a tough time.

PS did I say that I read the no cry sleep solution, and that I didn't really go for much of it but she did say (I think that I am paraphrasing correctly) that breast feeding your baby at night is not a negative sleep association as there is nothing negative about it, it is just something that you might want to be different, which I found quite helpful.

PS2 I might have said this before, if so, many apologies

longwayfromhome · 05/02/2009 22:11

Sazzles - did you just go and check your diary ?

TwilightSurfer · 05/02/2009 22:11

One Year AGO Today was MARDI GRAS/FAT TUESDAY in New Orleans

oopsacoconut · 05/02/2009 22:12

I is off to bed now. Hopefully for some sleep tonight.

Sazzles - fingers crossed your oil doesn't run out - it looks like loads more snow and unlikely anyone will be out tomorrow.
