Hi all,

Was thinking of you on Tuesday Stefka - glad all was ok - huge sigh of relief, I imagine!

I'm not around much at the moment: Tuesday was V-day in the Thomas household ... J had the snip.

He's not able to do much yet (and I suspect he's milking it a bit, but considering the alternative, I'm happy to indulge him for a little longer.

Also M is not sleeping - this cough means she keeps waking herself up: last night I didn't go to bed until 3am as she was all over the place, then she woke again at 5.30am [exhausted] - I need some sleep - this has been going on all week!

Off to put her to bed ... will try and catch up properly this weekend, I promise!

love to all!

p.s. M is always in the same nappy all night, unless she's pooed ... and always has been!

see you - my call has come!

Mine · 29/01/2009 19:22

needcoffee.... i'm on day 28..... it can be done!!!

May i ask what kind of course you are doing too...?? (nosey cow emotiocon!)

Inzi - i'm sorry to hear about your crap night continuing,,, i really am dumbfounded at how you still have any energy left, but i guess when its your LO you just keep going. I too don;t change Eren;s nappy once he is put to bed. He hated having a wet bum, but once he started sleeping through the night, i stopped changing him.
She is your baby, and you will know what to do best, but if changing is disturbing her sleep then don;t do it for a couple of nights and see what happens, but if it is then i guess you just have to keep going....

I had my tooth out today.... and i am petrified of the dentist! She was rough by anyones standards but got it out in the end. Now it bloomin hurts and i just can;t eat anything.... even though my stomach is grumbling

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/01/2009 21:26

Mine I have sympathy for you over the dentist I am petrified of them and I have an appointment on Wednesday....the way my mouth is feeling I am on the brink of telling him to take them all out and give me false ones lol.

HI all!!!!

Bit wierd this isn't it??

Well, I had my consultants app today and I was calm, collected and didn't cry at all!!

The midwife was fab and made sure I understood exactly what was going on and what was being said/suggested. I asked for a c-section and the consultant said yes fine as they could understand my concerns. He was also very shocked that I hadn't been seen by the hospital 6 weeks after having the tear to make sure all was well. He asked what the general surgeon had said and I said I didn't get an app through and didn't follow it up that I was a bit fed up with being poked and prodded about when they hadn't found anything wrong. (remember me having that barium enema??) He said okay that I would need to be checked out 3 months after having no 3 and to have any repeairs needed done then. I will be seen by them at 34 weeks and have a growth scan then and at 37 weeks and the c-section isn't dependednt on size so even if no 3 is small/average it doesn't effect me having a section. I asked if they could change their minds and the midwife said that at the 34 week app they would book me in but still go through all the options but would not push me to have a vaginal delivery. They asked about pnd and how was I after Henry I said fine and he said did I have the pesary (cyclogest, to regulate hormones so you don't get the drop) I said yes and he has prescribed it again for 1 weeka after delivery. I am feeling soooooooooo relieved. Part of the relief is that I made it through the app without crying and asked questions and asked for the c-section myself. I thought I would crumble and chicken out. I am so glad they listened to me and this isn't just about me getting what I wanted iyswim. I felt listened to and that my views and feelings were taken into consideration.

Am on the iron tablets though but at least I should perk up from tiredness. My bp is 100/60 which was the same as last time but they asked if my blood pressure has always been low which it hasn't, it's always been normal. Could my exercise cause my blood pressure to lower? (Alice, I think that one's for you if you don't mind x)

Bump isn't excessively huge and I think I was bigger with Henry but the midwife was lovely in that she said 'go and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy' and I think I will!!! I have growth scans but it doens't matter what they say -with Henry at 36 weeks I was measuring 41 weeks and totally panicking which really wasn't helping.

Need to find a nanny/mothers help for the beginning of July for the summer holidays now. Not sure where to start...

Speak sooon....xxxx

LisaLessLumpy · 30/01/2009 14:46

That's great news muppet

TheLadyEvenstar · 30/01/2009 15:44

Why are families so nasty? My sister saw Zacharys new photos which I love and she told me i need to get his hair cut short as he looks dirty and scruffy with it as it is.... FFS he is 16m old and I love his hair...

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 30/01/2009 17:49

Stefka - glad everything went ok at hospital.

Inzi - at the way that woman's treated your sister - am not surprised you are angry. Re nappies - Anya has hers on all night and it's usually quite large by morning but she doesn't seem to care.

FT - sorry, diary wasn't up to date last time. Anya has a hearing test on 9th - can we make it 16th? Sorry Alex is giving you such difficult nights - I'm not surprised you shouted back.

LLL - sorry ds was ill - is he better today?

NeedCoffee - well done still not smoking.

Mine - didn't know you had given up too - well done! Ouch for the tooth - at least it's out now though.

Muppet - so glad it went well at the consultants.

Anya discovered today that she can climb up onto the coffee table . She's still being clingy and attention-seeking but she's dribbling like anything. I finally have a few minutes peace while she watches BabyTV.

Ah - shouldn't have said that...

Stefka · 30/01/2009 21:23

Ahhh how do I change the layout - I don't like it? I hate the ads at the top and it is making my eyes feel funny.

TLES that is just wrong. I hate it when people put pressure on parents to cut their little boy's hair really short.

Mine how is your mouth?

Ek at Anya climing! Dareh has started to climb a lot too - another whole level of baby proofing to do.

So so glad you were listened to muppet - about time!

I know I have missed people out - sorry - I can't see straight with this new layout.

I have news - got two jobs yesterday! The part time school job is going to start on Friday two and a half days a week and I also got a freelance job with a theatre company one day a week for six weeks. I have mixed feelings - I am relieved as DH has no work lined up and someone needs to bring some money in but still feeling heart broken at having to be away from Dareh.

muppetgirl · 30/01/2009 21:37

Stefka -CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Fab news xxxxxxxxxx

CrochetDiva · 30/01/2009 21:53

Great news Stefka ... sorry to hear you feel ambiguous about it ... on the positive side, at least your dh will find out what it's really like being at home all day with lo!

muppetgirl I am very proud of you! Now, do as the mw says, and try to enjoy your pg!

A bit tipsy now, going to bed ... this has been a loooooong week!

TheLadyEvenstar · 30/01/2009 22:08

Stefka Congratulations!!!!

It looks better today for me - the new layout that is. Maybe they have sorted out some problems with it or something.

Playhouse sounds lovely! Sorry the visit was hard for you - I am sure that your Grandad got so much out of you being there though. Fingers crossed ttc wise!

I have just discovered that the freelance job clashes with a conference I am meant to be going to. It's one a very good friend is speaking at and she really wants me to be there. I also really want to be there. I am thinking I have two options - call in sick on that day - not keen on that really as it isn't honest and I could get caught plus they don't know me well so won't know that I don't usually take days off. Or I can just ask if there is any flexibility with the dates. Trouble with that is that I am sure they won't be as it would mean asking three different schools to retimetable. I think I am going to have to accept I can't go - so annoying.

FloriaTosca · 31/01/2009 12:36

Stefka;fab news about the jobs (just like buses eh?) Try not ot get upset about leaving Dareh with his dad, it is good for them to be bonding more and for your Dh to realise how much energy it takes. Sorry it probably means missing your friends speach, I'm sure she will understand ...sometimes practicalities just have to take precedence.

InziI'm glad you have seen your grandad though terribly sorry he is looking so ill Jane will bring him a lot of joy which is very important just now...I hope the 2ww brings another joy for you all to look forward to

muppet So glad all went well with your consultant I'm sure that is a huge weight off your mind ...now, as crochet says, enjoy your pregnancy!!!!!

strawberrylace · 31/01/2009 13:44

Hello everyone
DS is fast asleep in his new bean chair (thanks for the tip Floria, we had been wondering what to get cos he's too big for his baby chair and I hat him sleeping on the sofa cos I think he will fall off when he wakes up), and DH has gone to PC World (how can men spend so long in that place? its so dull) so I am MNing when I should really be doing some work for my leadership development course....

Muppet - so pleased the appointment went well and you were listened to
Stefka - great news about the jobs - though sorry you have some clashed already
Inzi - I'm sorry your grandad looked so poorly - but I know seeing Jane will have really cheered him up - my nan always loved to see Olly

Hello everyone else! Am gonna force myself to do my work now...

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 31/01/2009 15:27

Stefka - that's wonderful news about the jobs - it must be a relief. I'm sure you'll miss Dareh but hopefully it won't be too bad. Annoying about having to miss the conference though - hope your friend understands.

Inzi - glad you got to spend time with your grandad - I'm sure he appreciated it. Cross fingers for you ttc!

Not sure about this new layout - looks ok to me but finding it difficult to type without words going missing .

Central heating pump has started making really strange squealing noise - can't be good. Our plumber is out of ideas - my dad is going to have a look at it in a couple of weeks, he's really good at that sort of thing.

Have promised myself that if I get all my jobs and paperwork done today then I can have a nice soak in the bath tonight. Better go and do some then instead of posting on here .

Mine · 31/01/2009 18:15

hiya

Strawberry/Floria.... where did you get your baby beanbags from...??

Stefka - congrats on the jobs. Adjusting to time away from Darah will be hard at first but you do get used to it, but if its a short term contract then at least you know that its not forever.

Muppet well done you on getting your poit across and getting what you wanted.

Inzi i hope things are getting a bit more bearable for you my lovely.

LES - have you sorted out things with your nightmare landlord...??

I can;t remember much else... soo dense sometimes

My tooth extraction went badly. I won;t go into detail but lets just say i have a busted lip and bruise on my left cheek. luckily its fading fast.

I stopped smoking and went on a serious diet with DH at the same time.... not good at first, but certainly getting much easier. I've been trying to run 3k every other day but its a bit of a struggle at the mo, i;m sure i;ll get better. I'm planning on doing a 10k run with DH in a few months [yikes!]

DH and have been talking about TTC again, but i think we might wait until Eren is 2 years old, get this years holiday out of the way in oct and try then, but i'm already excited if that makes sense......
Off out to dinner with the family then maybe come back home and play Wii !!
