Floria - Happy Birthday!!! Hope you have had a wonderful day

NC - No, not harsh at all, I agree with you. As you say though, it's one thing saying it and another thing doing it!

Inzi - How's the weight loss going? I've been eating healthy and have lost 3lb so far . Glad you had a lovely day yeasterday

Les - about your Landlord. The rent is unbelievable too, suppose I am the other end of the counrty though. Hope you get it all sorted out.

Muppet - Your mil is manipulative like my mum then, they'd be good friends! She always makes out i'm saying things i'm not on the phone so my dad thinks i'm a baddy

Dylan has just emptied his bag of mega bloks all over the lounge for the second time today

Thanks again for the support and advice everyone, it really helps and stops me feel like i'm gong mad!

Hi to everyone i've missed

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 23/03/2009 20:15

Well I must admit I wasn't expecting anything for mothers day as it must have been a bit weird for dh - we had arranged a few weeks ago to go and see his mum on Saturday and he always sends a card etc even though they didn't get on. But he did get me a card (which she scribbled in signed) and chocs and he did let me have a lie-in (although all the doors were open and Anya was crashing about so I only dozed for a bit) - so I'll count that as a success.

FT - Happy Birthday . Sorry your mothers day wasn't very relaxing.

Dal - so sorry your parents gave you a hard time. It sounds like they are not going to change in a hurry, but you have made progress with them over the last few months. Maybe mothers day was always going to be difficult - for what it's worth I'd stick with it and see how they behave on the next 'non-special' occasion.

LES - think your letter is very good and considered.

strawberrylace · 23/03/2009 21:39

Happy birthday FT!!

Sorry that so many of you had mothers days that were a bit rubbish yesterday. We popped over to MILs for lunch - nice to have a roastie, but for some reason, stepFIL mashed all of DS's food up together. Which apparently he does every week when they have DS for tea. Which is so annoying cos DS has never had mashed/pureed food, and stepFIL should know this cos DS has been with them eating finger foods loads, so not quite sure why he's started doing food like this now. It's not a big problem for me - but just strange. Ah well - DS hardly touched it and begged carrots and potatoes off my plate instead. He is a good boy - he bought me a new Scrabble game for my DS

Hope you are all ok - haven't been posting recently cos sooooo busy with work, working in the evening to try and get on top of things. But i've been reading what you've all been up to

Happy Birthday Floria! Better late than never

Hello the rest of you.... Off to bed now so sorry for brief message! xxx

alicet · 23/03/2009 22:56

Just a quickie... Pretty sure now that our house sale is going through so feel free to have a neb on this link

Our house has been taken off but if you click on the Belvedere its an almost identical layout - our is actually the Abercrombie 'home of the month' they are advertising still (although we paid much less than it is on for there) the kitchen / dining room are open and there isn't a balcony on the master bedroom but other than that almost the same except on the end of the terrace (can see part of the picture of it to the left of the belvedere house!)

NeedCoffee · 23/03/2009 23:13

Alice-thats Fab, am so so pleased for you!!

muppetgirl · 24/03/2009 09:46

Alice -looks fab! Really good layout and the family room downstairs will be a godsend. 2nd floor lounges are okay but hard with very small children. Good to have a separate study which is what we are missing and finding it tough without one as Henry likes to pull the wires of Daddy's flashing light box thing You've also got more storage than we have so that's fab, we have nowhere to put the pram (currently in the dinning room/dogs room) and our hall is long and pokey.

Looks like a fab house, would love it myself as it addresses the problems we have with our house!

Dalrymps · 24/03/2009 10:40

Morning ladies!

Alicet - Looks absolutely wonderful! I would love a house like that... maybe in my dreams! Hope it all goes through smoothly without any probs

Strawberry - Glad you had a nice mothers day and got a lovely new game for your ds

WWAJC - Glad you had a niec mothers day too, mmm to the chocs!

Muppet - Hi! Hope you're back is ok today.

NC - Hi to you too,

alicet · 24/03/2009 14:03

Thanks for all good wishes - we are certainly pretty excited... Will still be a bit nervous until we have exchanged on this place but touch wood all going OK finally!

Muppet we plan to have the lounge as a children / cat free sanctuary for dh and I to defect to once boys are in bed leaving all toys and crap downstairs! of course in real life I am sure it won't work out like that but will be lovely as a thought! the dining room is big enough to have a table and a sofa in and with the double doors to the family room (playroom) we will probably live down there mostly.

Study won't be a study though - it will be my dh's bike room! He has a bike trainer he can stick his bike on inside so he can go 'cycling' on an evening / lunchtime when boys are sleeping and a fancy virtual reality thing which means he can virtually cycle up some of the tour de france climbs!

Hope you are all OK today. I am totally full of cold and have stayed off work today. Pretty shattered too - boys actually slept till 7am this am which is pretty unheard of esp for adam but I was awake at 4am for the loo, 5am with the cats scratching my door and then 6am. Always a gutter when they are actually bloody sleeping and you could be too!

muppetgirl · 24/03/2009 16:52

Alice the plan for the lounge sounds great, we kind of do that as it is a 'l' shape so we have a sofa where the l starts and all the crap children's stuff + computer is behind there. SO once you sit on the sofa you face into the room with no crap which is lovely in the evenings!

We have a study not as big as your family room that we use as a family/playroom and it works well as I can see the boys from the kitchen. We can fit a 3 seater sofa in there + Tv unit and they still have space to play as it has a bay window that gives you more of a sense of space than really is there. Henc the reason why we have no study! We are thinking about putting on a conservatory/room off the kitchen and making that the playroom as we are so desperate for a study as dh sometimes works from home and has a beast of a computer that he physically turns white if the boys go near it. Wicker baskets are separating the children from the beast but I'm sure Henry will climb over them one day!!!

Hi Dal, how's you today? xx

muppetgirl · 24/03/2009 17:00

Sorry Alice just dawned on me that you're home as you're not well

Hope you're feeling better soon
xxx

LisaLessLumpy · 24/03/2009 18:52

Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been very communicative lately, I am reading everything but just feel too tired to make the effort to reply, I know its not much of an excuse and I'm sorry.

The latest in the Ben saga is now screaming at bedtime, which we have just left him to it, and decided to try and nip the early mornings in the bud aswell, so left him to cry for that this morning too. Good news is he has slept through the last two nights but I keep waking up regardless. I am even dreaming that I can hear them, wake up, jump out of bed but then there is silence I am averaging 3-4 hours quality sleep a night, but then wake up between 2-3am and can't get back to sleep.
I have never had trouble sleeping before, so its all new to me and its getting me down a bit, I'm sure it will all change again soon, and I will be back with a vengeance
Anyhow, all those that are having problems, I sympathise and hope you can get it sorted soon.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 24/03/2009 21:00

Good grief - what's happened to the layout? Anybody else getting all the posts in a thin column on the right hand side or is it just me?

Strawberry - glad everything is ok with you.

Alice - house looks amazing - lucky you . Hope your cold is better soon.

LLL - don't blame you for feeling so tired. Hope Ben's sleeping through continues and you manage to start getting some better sleep soon.

muppetgirl · 24/03/2009 21:10

WWAJC -yep, light blue column on the left and posts all squished on the right...

LLL - really feel for you, sleep deprivation is a killer, I would say to hell with the house and sleep when you can xxx

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/03/2009 08:02
