Inzi,
It is FAB!!!! [SMILE]
Thankyou very Much for that donation!!!!!! really means a lot!
As for landlord, well last Tuesday I had a day of it with him texting me from 4.42am, screaming down the phone to me etc making me cry. Then Grant and I had a discussion and he we have decided that this is not the place to stay with a landlord who flips so easily for no reason!

Just a quickie from me... As usual been keeping in touch with what you have all been up to but not finding the time to post to forgive me if I have forgotten anything...

Stefka fab news about your jobs! can understand your mixed feelings but if you are anything like me you may find that the time away makes you appreciate him more... And it is actually nice to do something just for you agin. Good luck!

LES happy birthday!

Muppet great to hear your consultant appt went so well!

Inzi sorry to hear your gp is looking so unwell but sure seeing you and Jane will have helped. And good luck with TTC

Well we had some people come and see the house on Friday and they then came back for a second view the same day as they live out of the area so needed to fit it all in the same day. Please keep all your fingers crossed for a decent offer tomorrow! Not holding my breath but it is probably the most promising for ages...

Stefka · 01/02/2009 19:05

Happy Birthday TLES! Hope you have had a really lovely day and were spoiled rotten. Your present looks brilliant. It does sound like you need out of that place - who needs that kind of stress.

Alice hope that this is it for you and that you finally get a good offer.

Dareh is walking - well he was yesterday anyway, not so much today.

muppetgirl · 01/02/2009 19:26

Hi all

Happy birthday LES!!

Alice - am really hoping you'll get an offer soon...have you found a place yourselves or are you waiting till you sell?

Stefka -Well done Darah!!!

Well, Henry got on his knees and went forard a couple of inches but then sat back on his knees and decided bum shiffling was best. Dh saw him cral a little, I didn't and as saw as he saw dh he stopped!!!

He is still teething despite having 14 (yes 14!) teeth. He has the top four then the two either side, the bottom four and the first molars either side. Looks a bit gappy at the bottom but hey. We really have to watch him if he tries to bite! Have had to buy new vests as he looks a little 'freddie mercury' as we call it -remember the low cut suits he used to wear? We're in 18-24 months/ 2 years now. Am going to dig out Ollie's old clothes at the weekend as that'll save some money!

Ollies' friends have had or are having chicken pox at the mo so I am frantically looking each day, Ollie's had it but had some little spots by his eyes which went then appeared the other side then went, so not sure what that was but he's very tired and tearful.

Am watching dancing on ice as todd carty was soooooo funny last week

Love to all

muppetgirl · 01/02/2009 19:27

oh good grief the spelling

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 01/02/2009 19:49

Mine - ouch for the tooth extraction - hope it's not too sore. So pleased for you ttc even if it's months away yet. Well done on stopping smoking and dieting - I am truly impressed.

Alice - fingers and everything else crossed for you.

Muppet - aha at catching Henry crawling - I bet he secretly climbs out of his cot at 2am and runs laps round the bedroom. Wow at so many teeth.

Stefka - well done Dareh!

Anya has more molars coming through - on the bottom this time. She's leaving puddles of drool all over the floor and she's very tired and clingy.

And I've eaten nearly a whole tube of pringles this afternoon (they were half price) and I feel just a little bit sick .

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 01/02/2009 19:50

(Muppet - love 'bum shiffling')

muppetgirl · 01/02/2009 20:03

WWAJC - oooo, facy some pringles noww....mmmmm

We think Henry is like 'lou and Andy' from Little Britain, I'm sure more washing is getting done than I do and I'm positive his toys in his room are in different places each time I go in

Mine · 01/02/2009 21:29

is there a way of going back to the old MN layout..... this one is really annoying ......

strawberrylace · 01/02/2009 21:33

Happy Birthdat LES

And hello to everyone else! I am still trying to do my work for my leadership course - it is doing my head in cos I have a new version of Word and I can't find the things to make it do what I want it to do. So I am here for a break before I kill my laptop

Alice - fingers crossed on the house
Muppet - lol at the Lou & Andy thing!
WWAJC - now I want pringles too (I am so easily led. I could eat the lemon meringue pie I made earlier instead I suppose)
Stefka - great that Dareh is walking - Olly has much more fun at toddlers now he can actually toddle....

Right, break over

FloriaTosca · 02/02/2009 09:57

Happy belated Birthday Tles..hope it wasa fab day and that the perfect new place comes up soon

Alice; fingers crossed that offer comes through for you.

Muppet; lol at Henry doing exta washing and moving his toys! Wow at 14 teeth!(Alex has 6!)and pmsl laughing at Ollies poo antics (so has everyone I've told too!!) Glad his behaviour is improving but sorry he is still tired and tearful... fwiw a pals teenage daughter had ME and their consultant put her on a "stoneage" diet (whole foods, no processed ingredients like sugar or flour)that worked wonders ... could it be worth a try?

Strawberry; hope the course work went well...any lemon meringue pie leftif there is I'll be right over!

Mine; at the top of the page on the talk line is a customise box ...I've set mine back to classic settings with dark titles, I just couldn't get used to the internetmobile friendly version.

WWAJC; 16th would be lovely...I hope your Dh is recovering. Sorry to hear about the boiler probs, just what you want at this time of year

Stefka; Well done Dareh!!

Well we are snowed in again...Dh only just got up the hill so I havent got a hope of getting out. Alex is finally proving that the talkfirst classes were worth their money by signing "snow" ..he has been signing "milk" for 12 months and "all gone" and "light" since his birthday but his signing has suddenly escalated this weekend and we have had dog, rabbit, cat, rain, snow, bee, star and car/lorry!! He has also started 'burling' (as Inzi would say) spinning on the spot until he is so dizzy he falls over! and also trying to do head stands (not very sucessfully..he bends over, puts his head on the floor and puts his arms in the air behind his back, when he lifts up a leg he falls over!)coupled with his maniafor climbing I can see us needing an industrial sized tub of arnica cream and a season ticket to A&E!

muppetgirl · 02/02/2009 10:22

Hi Floria - Do you know you're not the only one to suggest me or cfs to me... He was very emotional yesterday up and down. We are thinking of trying allegy testing to see if we can eliminate anything but the stoneage diet sounds very good. We have him on the biobiotic drinks and I have to say his tummy has really improved since then. We have abother paed's appp in march to get the results of the blood test he had and see if he's still tired -he is.

Fab news about the signing! Henry has just started doing twinkle twinkle and we do our own sign for 'out of your mouth' so we don't have to holler all the time. Am teaching him 'more' so he can say if he wants more. Am going to do 'drink' also as he doesn't drink much so we thought making a sign out of it he might be more interested (!)

Snowed here this morning, dh has taken srare clothes as he may have to stay in LOndon tonight if the rush hour is crap, not as bad as they said it was going to be though...

My brother laugh's as where he is in Canada his car is totally buried for the duration of the winter (he has a sports car which is a really stupid idea anyway) they have that much snow. This is a little trickle for them

not doing much today, need to clean, clean, clean, oh joy!

Love to all

muppetgirl · 02/02/2009 10:23

I meant probiotic drinks

NeedCoffee · 02/02/2009 10:42

Hi everyone, aren't going to be able to remember what you have all said, but i have read through!

Muppet-sounds like a good idea to try him with the stonage diet, may be worth trying myself on it! I hope it works.

FT-thats great about the signing, and lol about the headstands

WWAJC-hope your dad can sort your boiler!

Alice-fingers crossed! you heard anything?

inzi-love your zoo pics, who did you go with? You look great

LES-did you have a good brthday? stupid landlord, i hope if you leave he geta some right twats in, that'll teach him.

strawberry-hope you got your leadership thing sorted or at least started

Mine-wow, well done, diet and stop smoking!thats so brave.

hi to anyone i have missed

well, i'm still not smoking, i went out on Sat night not realising i shouldn't drink on my tablets, what a mistake, i felt like death yesterday and bad today, real dizzy andweak, i'm not even dressed yet I'm not drinking again until i've finished the course of tablets.

Has everyone seen the meet up thread on Facebook? We need to see who can make where and when, it'll be fantastic if we could all go! I have also been looking at travelodges and that de veres hotel that has some rooms for £10, worth keeping in mind for those who would want to stay over.

NeedCoffee · 02/02/2009 19:21

where is everyone???

Strawberry - hope you got to grips with Word.

FT - Anya does headstands too. Don't think I've seen her trying to lift her leg at the same time though . Am very impressed with Alex's signing. Is it too late to start doing it now? I got Anya to sign 'milk' but then I lapsed and she now uses it as an all purpose sign (for milk/hello/goodbye/come here/I want) so a bit pointless then.

NeedCoffee - hope you're feeling better. How long are you on tablets for? Not seen the meet-up thread, will take a look...

Have all lo's been interested in snow. Anya went 'hmph' at it this morning but then ignored it since. Didn't get round to taking her outside. I went to hairdressers this afternoon - got the earlier bus there in case they were running late because of weather, then just missed one bus back, then second bus broke down, then third got stuck in traffic. I was gone for 5 hours . Don't know why I keep using buses.

Off to make stir-fry now with meagre leftovers in fridge. Really need to go to Tescos .

muppetgirl · 02/02/2009 19:58

Hi all

WWAJC - not to late to learn signs, can't remember when we started with Ollie but they do pick them up quickly. Started Henry with 'more' today and he can do it already though not generally associated with food

Dh got to Baker street today but then couldn't get anywhere else, london buses weren't running, no taxis and only 2 tube lines so he couldn't get to canary warf (been relocated) so came home. Couldn't work online as remote connection was so busy and his was deemed non-essential work! So he's been at home most of the day and isn't going in tomorrow!!!!

The snow came late this morning with a vengence and again this afternoon but still not like they said.

The dogs loved their walk though...

Oh and a lovely lady wiped doen a trolley seat and handle for me this morning as I was carrying Henry and the trolley was soaking -there are still some lovely people in the world!!

Love to all

NC -well done on still not smoking, no mean feat! xxxx

LisaLessLumpy · 02/02/2009 20:34

Hello everyone

Inzi - Glad your grandad seems a little perkier today and also that your sister is ok. Anything else happened with the crazy woman? Saw your pics at the zoo, love the one of the three of you.

NeedCoffee - well done on resisting the weekend and I hope you are more recovered this evening.

alicet - ANy news?

Les - Hope you had a good birthday

Stefka - Congrats on the jobs, sounds like your luck is changing

Muppet - my niece sounds exactly like Ollie. She is 5 in March is very thin and pale and is tired all the time. She can't even manage to have the energy to swim for long. My SiL has had loads of tests done and nothing has cropped up other than being slightly anaemic, but she has been eating all the right stuff since but still no real change I hope something gets sorted with Ollie soon though.

Wow at Henry having 14 teeth, he may be one of the slowest to walk but he is certainly the fastest in the teeth department Ben has 12 at the moment so is fast on his tail

FT - Ben sounds exactly like Alex, he does the handstand thing and the going round in circles thing he has also started walking around on his hands and feet and he is amazingly quick He also climbs on anything he can and is a whizz at going up and down stairs. Oh and his favourite thing at the moment is getting the toilet brush and cleaning the toilet, flushing the toilet and switching the lights on and off (long pull cords for Sam)

I haven't been teaching any specific signs for Ben but he knows what he wants and lets me know regardless. For instance if he wants to sit somewhere he will pat it with his hand and he has a great pointing finger He constantly amazes me with what he understands now too. I can ask him to find his socks/shoes and he will fetch them and pretty much does most things I ask. He also knows where his head/nose/tummy/toes are now and he does the cutest impression of a lion, hands in front of his face and he roars

He doesn't say any really clear words yet but the ones he says that I understand are 'all gone' 'shoes' 'toes' 'more' 'ta' and he has started shouting 'mama' every time I am out of his sight.

We have had snow on and off all day today but still only have about an inch on the ground at the moment. They reckon more is on the way tonight so we'll see. Our phone lines are down though, luckily we have mobiles.

Stefka · 02/02/2009 21:29

Just saying a quick hello! I don't think you will see too much of me over the next couple of weeks as I am soooo busy! Got loads of planning to do for the two jobs, plus three essays that need to be written. No idea how I am going to find the time. Will do my best to keep up but this is the first chance I have do get on here all day!

Dareh was delighted with the snow today which he called noh.

Hope you are all cozy!

Stefka · 03/02/2009 18:36

Hah - popped back on and it looks like I killed the thread!

Got an interview for that full time job except now I have some freelance I really don't want it. My heart is in the freelance work but obviously it isn't reliable so will have to take the permanant if I get it.

Snow has all gone here now. How's everyone doing?

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 03/02/2009 18:47

Wow, what a quiet day! No more snow here since last night and most of that's melted now.

Muppet - enjoy having your dh at home .

Stefka - understand how you feel about the full time job. Good luck anyway.

Went to see a client today and she didn't show up. But then I drove to a carpark down the road and had a very productive 40 minutes of making phone calls - I rarely get the chance to do that . Phoned the client back afterwards and she said she'd expected me at 2:30 not 4:00 (rubbish - we'd only arranged it yesterday and I can remember exactly what she'd said) and she said she'd had to go to the bank before 4 as she couldn't go yesterday because of the weather. So what she actually meant was that she'd decided to not meet me, go to the bank, and couldn't be bothered to phone me and let me know .

Ah well, hope everybody had a nice day not mn-ing .

LisaLessLumpy · 03/02/2009 19:58

Today I took Sam to nursery and it was still snowy so got some nice pictures from there (see facebook) Ben had his first foray into the snow and loved it, especially because it was all crunchy today and he liked the sound of it underfoot. It has been a lovely sunny day today so the snow has nearly all gone now.

Went to watch Sam swimming this afternoon and that is about the sum total of my day. Not done anything else
