Did a huge post yesterday but the wifi connection bombed out as I pressed post so I lost it so flounced off in a paddy without saying;

Stefka; thinking of you today.

Inzi; Personally, I'd give the letter to your grandad and let him decide if he wants to read it ...what harm can being told he is loved and appreiated do?...I can't believe how alike our families attitudes are ...not talking about things doesnt make them go away.

Muppet; Quality items like that stroller keep their value when sold on ebay

Off for a nap ...my antibiotics are upsetting my tum and Alexs so no sleep again (oh, and yes it was an abcess and now the tooth has been drilled to drain it ready for a root canal next week and a crown in the near future..thank heavens for dental insurance)...Himself is having a nap so I had better join him.

FloriaTosca · 27/01/2009 16:31

NeedCoffee;Well done for lasting out 3 days...4 if you have managed today too...the cravings will be gone soon (according to my bro)Hang on in there the health and finacial benefits will be soooo worth it.

WWAJC; Hope Dh is recovering ...sounds like you are managing well and Anya is coming along so quickly. When are we going to that pottery place?

Muppet;
found it a bit cheaper here

Alice;I hope the viewing went well and you get your offer soon.

muppetgirl · 27/01/2009 16:40

thanks floria -they do a carrycot!!!!! That's made the decision for me, especially as Henry isn't walking. I was really debating whether to have a double or not but Henry is nowhere near where Ollie was in terms of walking so I think he'll need a puschair for quite a while. I was thinking of slinging dc 3 as I loved the hugabub but I need Henry to practise walking and can imagine my back would pretty soon give up at the thought of beding over + carrying another one.

Needcoffee -well done you!! My dad is an adent anti-smoker now and cannot stand the idea, smell or even the thought of smoking again. He's also very rude if anyone smokes near him quite interesting as it never bothered him when we were growing up!

Stefka -how'dit go today?

xxx

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 27/01/2009 18:22

FT - hope your tummy is better soon (& Alex's). Poor you at having such nasty dental work - hope it gets sorted quickly. Hadn't forgotten about pottery place - just haven't been very organised, but what the hell, I could be waiting all year for that to happen . How does Mon 9th sound?

Alice - how did the viewing go?

Stefka - how did you get on today?

Stefka · 27/01/2009 19:04

Hey all, it went fine. The lump is just swolen lymph nodes which the specialist thought was a result of stress. It was a long day - lots of waiting around. I am very tired!

Will catch up asap I promise! Thank you for all your lovely thoughts

NeedCoffee · 27/01/2009 20:18

Hi all, finally sat down after a hectic day!

Stefka-Great news! So glad for you, now try to chill out a little

FT-oooh sympathies, hope your (and Alexs) stomachs are beter, have you had root canal before? I've had it, twice and depending who does it, its not really that bad-nowhere near as bad as an abcess, and if it goes well you shouldn't have no problems.

WWAJC-oops, really not good then for the bills, grrr, hoe you get it sorted really soon.

Muppet-are you getting that pram then? I am so jealous! it looks great. Your non-smoking Dad made me laugh, i think i'll be like that too, keep telling people they stink

yup am at the end of my 5th day! It was so hard today as Shannon started the new nursery, was running late, and i hadn't done enough revision so was rather stressed and really craving one but just about managed to hold back. The exam did not go well and i was late picking Shannon up because the exam ran late, she was the last one-but she seemed to enjoy it, in fact when i popped in at dinnertime, she wasn't even interested in me!
Oh and still waiting for the health benefits to show-I think the tablets are messing with my sleep and also making me bloated, i look about 5 months pg, i guess the extra snacking isn't helping either.

stefka I'm so relieved and thrilled for you. Worry is exhausting. Get a good nights sleep I'm sure you will feel like a new woman tomorrow.

Dh away tonight and for once Alex has gone down exactly on time...I'm going to get an early night and try to catch up on the last few days...here's hoping

FloriaTosca · 27/01/2009 20:43

Needcoffee; Well done...my bro said the cravings went by day 7 for him ...health benefits take a bit longer but the effects are starting already and next month your skin and eyes will be much brighter (again according to bro)Sorry the exam didnt go as well as you hoped but nice that you dont have to worry about Shannon.Hope the results are better than you expected.

Inzi ((((massive hugs)))) You really are going through the mill at the moment. Worry for your grandad, your sister, your brother. No wonder you are stressed. If your grandads breathing gets really bad they will bring him either cylinder oxygen or bring in a machine that extracts oxygen from the room and pumps it to him to make him more comfortable... if it isnt being offered automatically ask his GP or macmillan nurse if he has one yet.

WWAJC;I think the 9th is free..it would be lovely to see you both ...I'll double check with DH when he gets home tomorrow ... I can see grandmothers day pressies being created already....

right..off to bed...night all!!

NeedCoffee · 27/01/2009 20:50

aw Inzi-massive massive hugs to you, I think you maybe need to try and do something pro-active...not sure what though, when are you going to be able to see your Grandad? How about putting together a collage of pictures of your family for him, and pass it on, with or without the letter, if you are not able to see him yet. At least, then, he knows, you are thinking of him, and it may give you some comfort. Am sorry about your brother too..and your sister, We're here whenever you need us xx

(btw its J20 )

Stefka - glad everything went well yesterday

Inzi - how about you send your grandad a letter with everything you want to tell him, he can read it on his own, you don't have to get all upset in person, but he will know how you feel. Believe me you will regret it forever more if you don't get chance to tell him how you feel. Hope your neck feels a bit better today and your friend gets good news like Stefka. Big Hugs xxx

LisaLessLumpy · 28/01/2009 09:23

NeedCoffee - Well done on the No smoking, you are doing fantastically

Inzi - Just reading back, I see a letter has already been mentioned. I think it is a great idea!

FloriaTosca · 28/01/2009 12:33

AAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!I truly dont know what to do with my son...he went to bed beautifully last night, fast asleep spot on 8pm....I went to bed at 9.30 ...he woke at 10.45 till 11.50...I went back to bed...he woke 12.55, I got into the spare bed in his room with him and it was like sharing a bed with whirling dervish! He wouldn't/couldn't settle, he bf'd, he flung himself around, bf'd some more, chatted to the wall hangings, bf'd, whirrled again, had a drink of water, shouted, bf'd...you get the picture..until 3.15!!!!.. when he wanted some water (he had emptied his bedside bottle) screamed hysterically at me for leaving him to refill it, at which I snapped and shouted back [bad, bad mummy emoticon]after which he had his drink settled down and slept until 6.00....so much for me going to bed early to catch up
needmoresleep are you still suffering the same way? I keep telling myself it is just a stage, it will pass...but how much more grey hair and wrinkles am I going to develop before he sleeps through?

...sorry..needed to let of steam...I'll be back later when I have had more coffee...

Inzi; I hope the doctor does something for your grandad today....

Stefka · 28/01/2009 12:33

Hey, how's everyone today?

needcoffee - you are doing so well. I really admire you - hang in there!

muppet I am jealous of that pram you are getting. I love the position where the babies can look at each other.

TLES so glad you are sorted now - that must have been horrible for you all. Glad it's over now.

Floria how's your tummy?

I am considering night weaning for the second time. Am really exhausted by the broken nights but at the same time hate the boy crying. It's difficult to know what to do.

alicet · 28/01/2009 13:16

Inzi sending you big hugs honey... really tough for you knowing your gradad is going through all this and not being able to be there for him. Also fingers crossed all is well for your sis. I see Stefka has already mailed you - if you need anymore info about what she might expect then give me a shout - I work in breast clinics all the time.

Floria sending you big hugs too - sounds like you are having a rough time wioth your teeth and alex's insomnia. This is the one thing I have found the hardest with both my 2 althoguh I have been lucky enough that it has got better with them both. Hope Alex becomes more settled soon

Needcoffee sounds like you are doing great - well done you!

Well we have had 2 viewings in the last week and not heard back yet. Yesterday was meant to be the estate agent showing them round but he didn't turn up! Luckily my cleaner who I know pretty well now was there and was kind enough to show them round as I was at work! Anyway I guess no news is not good news in this market but I'll keep you all posted...

Floria/Inzi for you both... re the shouting, Ollie has had me wailing like a banshhe the past few weeks so don't worry, it does happen (I still can be heard muttering 'it's aphase, it's a phase...)
Inzi have you tried a growbag? You may have done but Jane would find it hard to stand up in one. Floria, I have no advice but pots and pots of sympathy (not much use I know xxx)

Henry didn't want either sleep today and isn't eating much so he's in a foul mood. However, Ollie is being fab at the moment apart from a slip in the 'I want to wipe my own bottom and be all independent and get poo all over the toilet, floor, toilet roll and me.' It's a phase......

Muppet sorry but pmsl at Ollie, poo and toilet roll!

Inzi can I ask why you change her nappy at night? From your post it sounds as though you go in specifically to do that? I personally don't change Adam at all at night even if he wakes unless he has clearly had a poo. He is fine in the am. I use pampers babydry and a size up from his usual to soak up the extra wee and he is fine. If this is disturbing her why not try not doing that?

Have just been at Pilates so now aching! A bit lost at the mo as I've gone up into the next level and finding it all a bit confusing! Better last week but lost again tonight so may try and get a couple of 1 to 1 sessions to sort me out!

I am well aware that with this being probably the least of my worries at the moment I am one of the luckier people on this thread...

NeedCoffee · 28/01/2009 21:42

jus swiftly popping in

sorry to all those nor sleeping(FT, Inzi..) we've had a few bad nights too, not helping that she starts as soon as i finally manage to drift off. Inzi-was going to ask the same as Alice-we also do the same, except i don't use a bigger size, but may start doing. Shannon has had a couple of wees on her potty the last few days, she gets upset when she does it on the floor and on the potty, i think she gets confused, prob too young, but dd1 was potty trained by 18 months, not that i'm comparing Think i'll have to let her do it at her own pace.

can't remember anything else, will try and pop back later!
