PMSL at you story inzi! She must be very clever to know how to play hide and seek!

NeedCoffee · 07/03/2009 00:41

just quickly

Hi Alice!
Hope house gets sorted soon, bloody people, what they messing about at?

Inzi- i really did LOL, clever girl that is so cool

Ft-also lol (sorry) @ 1 2 3 Boo!

Maybe our next title shgould be about little piggies not oinking, not moo-ing but Boo-ing, or sommat like hat.

Am a bit possed, went out for a meal, we had a 2 for 1 on main meals for the restaurant we went to, couldn't decide what we wanted, so had a starter each, and got 2 mains each (well, it was bogof!) and the staff where very amused, and said if we ate ALL of it we wouldn't have to pay, so we stuffed ourselves , then they brought us coffee and desert(i got coffee, Rich got dessert(pudding stomach apparantly)) then they decided to tell us that they didn't mean we got the whole thing free, they meant dessert and coffee! HaHa, ended up cheaper than it would have been though, also went to see the new Rene Zellwegger(sp) film-was OK, but not brilliant-and her face doesn't move when she smiles or talks...botox or something, anyway nighty night xxx

alicet · 07/03/2009 07:55

pmsl at jane inzi! That is fab!

Also lol at NC filling her face with all that food! Sort of thing I would do too

Well the house situation is like this. It took them just over 2 weeks to tell us there were some problems on the survey and they wanted a builder to check them out. Fair enough except they won't tell us what the problems are which is very frustrating. Builder came on Wed and they haven't been in touch since and are not answering the phone to the estate agent. Now rational head says they have done nothing out of the ordinary - naturally they want to make sure there is nothing majorly wrong before spending a wad of cash, and the not answering the phone could be due to lots of simple reasons (mobile out of charge, not at work / home for call etc etc) but I am getting an increasingly bad feeling about this. For people who wanted to move quickly they are certainly dragging their heels. And we have now less that 2 weeks to make the exchange deadline on our new house which will now be almost impossible. And we have spent over 1K on searches and reservation charge none of which we'll get back and to progress our purchase any more we need to cough up another £600 for the mortgage valuation. Just don't really need to be throwing away that amount of money if they are going to piss us about.

Dh and I have been racking our brains as to what the problem (s) can be - we moved in 5 years ago and there was nothing much wrong and we haven't done anything to the house to make anything much go wrong. Some of the windows need to be fixed / replaced and there is a bit of damp in the kitchen due to the sealant on the tiles being done badly and water leaking down the back but to my mind there is nothing that is not immediately obvious when you view the house (and they came 3 times before their offer). Not knowing firstly what they are concerned about and secondly what kind of timescale we are looking at is driving us both mad!

Still I guess patience is a virtue....

alicet · 07/03/2009 07:57

Should add that it's been over 4 weeks since they initially made their offer because from my post it sounded like less. Not ages really but given that they wanted to move quickly and we have done everythign possible to progress things asap we are a bit miffed that they are dragging their heels and won't tell us why!

FloriaTosca · 07/03/2009 09:43

Alice; That is dreadful! I can't see what advantage they gain in not telling you what is wrong and I have to admit, in your situation I'd smell a rat too, I dearly hope they prove us wrong it would be appalling if they let you spend all that money only to let you down....everything crossed for you that things start progressing again.

Inzi Wow at Jane!

dh home from walking the dog ...must go and make him a hearty breakfast....

muppetgirl · 07/03/2009 19:08

HI all

Alice - arrrrgggghhhhh for you x I can't understand why anyone would be so quite cloak and dagger the builder they sent could be a 'friend' and say anything about your house!

Inzi - Jane is so cute but you must have been terrified!!!!

Had a strange day as Dexter our black lab has been limping since wed, didn't want to go out for a walk on Thur and yesterday I made a Vets app for today as I can't take him on my own -he's so scared he poos in the surgery, is a bit erratic and I can't lift him in the back of the car. But during the day he got worse and worse, not wanting to go out for a walk but struggled to get to the front door and pooed on the doorstep. I phoned the vets and rescheduled as I felt he couldn't wait -he'd not eaten all day and not really drunk. I had to hand feed him some ham. Dh took him and the vet said he was dehydrated, high temperature and major joint sewlling in his shoulder. She thought it could be sceptic arthritis and that would need an operation to clean out the joint but he's old so there is a concern about the op itself. She said it would come back but he could have up to 2 years. She also said she couldn't make a defnitiive diagnosis until the swelling had gone down.

This morning we phoned and he's still in a lot of pain, the ab's hadn't started to work and the swelling had gone down his leg and he was still really struggling.

Just now they said that it had gone down a little and that she thinks maybe it's an absess so she's going to take some of the fluid and test. Hopefully she's going to phone back tonight to let us know.

Dh very upset as Dex is his 'firstborn' and we wroked out that he's about 12 (we've been syaing 9/10 for years it seems!) I've been trying to consol him but he' missing him and so is Stan!

DH has done so much with Dex bearing in mind he wouldn't stay in the same room as a stranger as he was so terrified of everyone. I met dh and Dex would go upstairs and it took months for him to trust me. The kids love him and even Henry has just learned 'De-der' which he said this morning as if looking for him -we always let the boys out in the mornings as they sleep in what should be the dinning room downstairs (It's an empty room ) and H was looking for Dex. I miss his loud snoring and can't wait to complain about it again xxx

alicet · 07/03/2009 19:43

Just a quickie...

yes I don't get why they won't bloody tell us what they are looking at either but nothing I can do about it which makes it worse! If we don't get any answers from estate agents on Monday we're going to ask our solicitor to get in touch with theirs to get some straight answers. We want this to go through and don't want to do anything to jeopardise this but if they are going to mess us about we'd be better to just put the house back on the market.

Muppet thinking of you and dex xxx

Hope that Dex is OK and he comes home soon.

That is so frustrating Alice - I don't understand why people make these things so difficult.

Shit mummy alert here. DH was washing Dareh's cup and discovered all this crap inbetween the valve (it is a no spill) and the spout. I didn't even know the valve bit came off. It was all this mould shit - it was horrible and Dareh has been drinking it every day . I feel horrible, I should have been more careful.

Going to bed - Dareh keeps getting me up at half five.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 07/03/2009 21:06

Inzi - lol at Jane's "boo" - Anya can hide for quite a long time but that's very impressive. Congrats on your dh getting a new job. Lots of big hugs to you this weekend.

NC - good grief at eating a starter and two main courses ! I could never have managed that!

Alice - how frustrating for you. You're right, there could be loads of simple reasons why they are not in touch but that's very annoying. Hope you hear from them soon.

Muppet - really hope Dexter is better soon.

Had such a lazy day today - apart from Anya being up at 5:30 - usually she goes back to sleep but not today. I shall be getting an early night then .

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 07/03/2009 21:09

Stefka - x-posted. I wouldn't worry about Dareh's cup. When you think of all the crap they put in their mouths that they pick up off the floor, a few germs in the water won't have done any harm . Hope you get a good night's sleep.

alicet · 07/03/2009 21:16

Stefka i have done this too with beakers. both my boys are still alive and well to tell the tale! i second WWAJC that they put all makker of crap in their mouths from the floor etc so try not to worry!

hi all, thanks re dex. Not heard from the vet but no news is good news {I think )

I always think in terms of hygene that Stanly licked Henry's hand and then Henry stuck it in his mouth YUk!!! Henry's survived that so I think he could most things

looking at prams as we thing we will need a double and dh is fed up with pushing round my £5 pram from ebay it rattles like you wouldn't believe and he's embarassed by it! (It's the same make as the one he broke when we had Ollie but it's the model before the one we had so is really old)

Like the phil and ted's as we can use it for Henry, then both and then convert it back to just a pushchair when we don't need it for Henry anymore (wishful thinking at this rate!) It's not a permenant double which I think is good. Have read mixed reviews though...

Dalrymps · 07/03/2009 22:05

Alicet - Sooooo anoying what the buyers are putting you through. The least they could do is to let you know what exactly it is that they're deliberating over! Hope the mystery is cleared up soon and everything can't move forward without any stresses.

Oh and to answer your question, yes, we're ttc at the moment

Muppet - Get well wishes to Dex, hope they can make him all better quickly and he'll be back home snoring away soon.

Stefka - Don't worry about the cup, I noticed the spout on Dylan's tommee tippee drinking cup is really manky too. Only thing is, it's a free flowing one but I haven't got a brush small enough to clean it out. Have tried sterilising it and boiling it but still got crud in there

Dylan has started waking at 8am, not early but earlier than he usually wakes so I think it must be to do with the lighter mornings.

WWAJC - We had a lazy day too , I had a sleep in whilst dh gave Dylan his breakfast and his bottle then we both had a long lazy cuddle in bed whilst he had his morning nap

NC - Lol at the restaurant story, dh and I would have done exactly the same thing

Pixie - Hi! They put allsorts in their mouths don't they

That remonds me, Dylan has learnt to pick bogeys out of his nose and offer them to me so I can wipe them off his finger

LES - Hi, hope you're doing ok

Floria - Hope the sleep is going ok... Lol at 1,2,3, boo! (not so funny when you're trying to sleep I expect]. 'bye bye this' is also a classic!

Had a nice day today, took Dylan to a local park but it mostly had climbing things and no swings so was a bit old for him. Ah well, he enjoyed sitting on the car on a spring thingy. We had a wander round town too and then popped in to see the pils for a bit.

Saw a pretty now mobile phone in the O2 shop I want to upgrade to so now i'm counting the days till the 21st when I can have it. The space key has gone on my phone and texting is driving me mad!

Hi to everyone i've missed, hope you're all having a lovely weekend

Dalrymps · 07/03/2009 22:07

Muppet - I have been looking at double buggies too with the future in mind. I can't seem to find the perfect one for me... I love the phil and teds but wish you could turn the seats around. Are you looking at tandem ones or side by side?

muppetgirl · 07/03/2009 22:08

dal -What! Literally at this moment??????

blimey you're great at multi tasking!!

(tee hee xxx)

muppetgirl · 07/03/2009 22:09

tandem ones as I think the side by side will be quite wide

Dalrymps · 07/03/2009 22:13

Am I doing what at this moment? Oh gosh what did I say lol

Hmm, off to look at tandem ones...

Dalrymps · 07/03/2009 22:18

Not many good ones to choose from. The Phil and teds is definately cool

There's the Jane powertwin, not sure what the reviews are like.

Therea's the icandy pear but I heard it's quite heavy and the seats are small. It has a good combination of seating positions though...

TheLadyEvenstar · 07/03/2009 22:41

tut you ladies who need a double I have solved it!!!!
