WWAj that is sooo rude! I don't get people like that.

New bathroom sounds fab! You need to get yourself some lush products for that first bath!

11! Dareh only has five.

Am feeling fed up with the broken nights and early starts - I want to sleeeeep!!!

Woooozle100 · 04/02/2009 10:03

yyaaaawwwnn

morning ladies. Tired as well. Gone into work today - don't usually work on wedsnesdays. Awful night - ds grizzly and clingy.. dd coughing, spluttering and gargling on her pump feed so ended up turning it right down. DH has taken her to the doctors and she has slight chest infection. Ah well. Got through one month without antibiotics (if you exclude the flucoxetine for skin infection and daily trimetheprim to prevent urinary infections)

I'm blaming teeth for everything with ds at the moment. He's ver whingy and clingy. Gums feel bulgy but been like it for weeks. Only wants to eat bananas as well. Keeps pointing at them and screeching. How dyou explain that 2 bananas on the trot is quite enough really?

FloriaTosca · 04/02/2009 10:17

Alex only has 6 ...soooo with you on the broken nights Stefka....I am absolutely wrecked Alex has had me up so much...I've got to the point where if I get more than 2 hours at a stretch I think we are doing well!
Inzi; we are doing our bathroom too ...well, actually the shower room...it is so small we have knocked down the wall into the hall and rebuilt it just 20cm into the hall(right up to the bedroom doors)just to get that little bit of extra space ...it wont have a shower cubicle this time as we are creating a wet room...we bought the travertine tiles and travertine sink this one last year but have had to wait until now to afford all the other bits tapshowerand a wall hung toilet...not to mention the special sub floor (with integral shower tray for tiling over)and underfloor heating. We are fitting it all ourselved (Dh is very handy that way thank heavens) but wont be able to go on holiday this year

FloriaTosca · 04/02/2009 10:22

argg! pressed post instead of preview the tap and the shower are 2 separate links if you are in the least bit interested ...when it is eventually done I'm going to sit on that warm floor and let the water flow over me for a week!!!!

FloriaTosca · 04/02/2009 10:32

Pixie!!! X posted.Good to see you
..sorry dd is sick again, but well done on avoiding all the miriad nasty bugs flying around for a whole month...and I thought I had a bad night! I hope she gets over this one quickly and you can get more rest
... lol at your ds wanting endless bananas, they must be very massaging/soothing for him,(alex isnt terribly keen on them despite them being the first thing he ever snaffled tasted)but like me you must be desperate for the darned teeth to come through and get the agony over with.
I hope the extra day at work passes quickly and those teeth come through soon

Woooozle100 · 04/02/2009 11:00

cheers. Yr bathroom sounds luvverly. we need to have a wet room built at some point but think we're going to wait and move house (no room where we currently are - would need to extend back into the garden and loose one of dh's beloved room of shit sheds

Yep - am trying some positive visulisation at the mo - imagining him grinning back at me with full set of gnashers! We will get there.. it will happen! (barely noticed dd was cutting teeth - she got em altogether between 18 mths and 2)

Inzi - enjoy your new bathroom - how long before it's finished?

Anya has 9 teeth now including 3 molars and a 10th on the way. Most have come through without any problem, apart from the first batch, so we've been lucky but she's really struggling with this one - she's had a temp today and been out of sorts for a few days now.

Do we get a rest in between teething and potty training??

Pixie - sorry dd is suffering. Hope you're coping ok though.

FT - lots of sympathy with the broken nights. Very impressed with your dh's handywork!

FT and Inzi - I hope your bathrooms are all fab when finished. DH is just fitting the carpet to our guest room en-suite that he did over Xmas. FT - like your DH mine is very handy at all things DIY, you name it he has done it/tried it Certainly saves a hell of a lot of money.

Well I thought the day would never come with Sam... but it has, today.... why?, why?, why?, why? aaarrgghhh!! I've had enough already

TheLadyEvenstar · 04/02/2009 20:23

Hi Ladies,

THANK YOU ALL FOR MY BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!

I celebrated by taking the boys to a soft play area and then acting like a big kid myself lol.

Have been to dentist today and have finally got to the bottom of what has been causing me so much grief for a few months...an abcess which just won't sod off and leave me alone lol. So Chris (my dentist) put some jallop on the tooth and a temp filling over it and has told me when i go back on the 2nd March he will make it all ok!!!! and I don't have to have any teeth out PHEW!!!!

Zachary now has his 3 top front teeth, 2 bottom, 3 molars or it may be 4, and 2 dog tooth lol. He also has a huge gap in the front top teeth and i mentioned it to the dentist today who said "he's going to be lucky" ????

Both he and Karl had loadsa fun in the snow, I DID didn't though as i am a kid at heart am a bit too old for all that lol

Karl went back to school today only for me to collect him early as the roads were so bad and buses so so so so slow.

Landlord I think is schizophrenic finally calming down and it seems not putting the rent up and after grant went to pay the rent the other day has not made any calls to me.

Anyways am off for a well deserved coffee, hope everyone is ok and I will read through this later to catch up on you all. xxx

Henry had us all up at 5am this morning teething...

I cannot wait for this all to be over, he's got bloody loads and yet the few that are to come through are driving him nuts.

We have soooooooooo much snow Hen's not going to nursery (over hill and dale and a very large hill they haven't gritted) and Ollie's not going to school (little country roads they haven't gritted) that's even if we could make it out of our road!!! -that's not gritted, our whole estate isn't yet we pay coucnil tax and a management fee to a separate company so we pay twice to get nothing. Will shut up about that one now as it really bugs me...

Lisa/Floria - am very that your dh's can do diy mine is lovely but cannot bang a nail in a wall without bashing a huge hole so we have to get someone in to do everything. Means things progress slowly as we have to save up for each thing.. Next to do is painting the hall and stairs throughout the house and this is booked in for easter hols after that it's the children's bedrooms as they haven't been done at all and we've been here 3 1/2 years. We're still the magnolia house! Thought it would be a good time when the new baby arrives as Olli'e room is quite rank from pick nose wiping around his bed nice!

The bathroom is a total right off but that's at the top of the house and no one need go there only the kids and they just bath there!

Love to all

will be back later as not really going out today
xxx

LisaLessLumpy · 05/02/2009 08:24

Morning Muppet.

Ben had me up at 1.30, 2.30, 4.00 and 6.30 this morning, his skin has gone really bad again and I think it was bothering him all night. I had put him to bed in a fleecy sleepsuit but I think it was just irritating him, so changed him into pyjamas and grobag at 4am and he slept till 6.30, then came in with us and slept again till 7.30 until someone phoning DH's mobile woke him up

No nursery for my two either, both involve steep hills and country roads too, I'm not risking it when the main road at the bottom of our drive has got snow on it and the cars are doing 20mph on a 50mph road. James has gone into work but he says its getting quite bad so I'm expecting him home early... after he has been and got the boys a sledge each I think it is definitely snowman day today

FloriaTosca · 05/02/2009 09:41

Wow! You have snow and we only have the dregs left from Mon/Tues! I can't believe it! Rossendale has its own micro climate , usually at least 1 degree below the rest of the country,we have been known to have snow when everyone else is basking in the sun!

LLL; sorry Ben is suffering...your night was much like mine except Alex wouldn't go back down at 6 and was demanding "boo(k)" s ...and my Dh is in Germany sleeping undisturbed in a luxurious hotel roomHave a fab time sledging

Muppet; Henry too! It seems we are all going through it at the moment. Sympathy...I think 5am was the only o'clock I didn't see last night. Lol at Ollies snot smeared walls The only problem with having a handy Dh is that things only get done at weekends so this wet room of ours has already taken 3 weeks just to destroy and prepare and we havent put anything but the special drain for the shower in. Being a plumbers daughter I'm not exactly useless at DIY myself but it isnt easy to get things done with Alex at the moment...give him another year or two and I'll have him labouring for me as Dad ahd me doing at that age [evil victorian tyrannical mother emoticon]

ooh! guess what? It's snowing here now!!!...I'd better get off to soft play quick or we wont get there....have a good day all

Hello lovely ladies!

Sorry I haven't been on for ages... We did get an offer for our house but almost certainly not enough. Dh is speaking to our financial advisor to see if the numbers add up today. If they do then we will accept but it is 10K short of what we really need in order to not eat into our deposit for a new place. We will probably be able to get a deal from a builder with a 5% deposit thrown in which we could then make up to 10% but the last time we looked the offers for mortgages like that were shite. So unless things have drastically changed we will be declining... A shame though as he is a cash buyer so unlikely to fall through but to sell and leave ourself in a position where we can't buy elsewhere without getting totally stuffed on our mortgage would be stupid. Esp as we can stay here indefinately if needed. Ho hum - will report back later!

As usual have skim read and promptly forgotten...

Someone mentioned a meetup thread on Facebook? Can someone post the info here too - I hardly ever get the chance to look on there and I know some people aren't on it so if all meetup stuff is discussed there there will be people who never know about it...

Inzi thats very cute of Jane! What a sweety!

bathrooms look fab - we had ours done about 110 months ago then gutted as they did a really shite job Oh well maybe we won't have to put up with it for much longer!

Well might not get on much next couple of days - Sam's party on Sat and my paretns are up for the weekend then his actual birthday on Mon. can't believe my big boy is nearly $3! Will try and pop on if poss but may be a couple of days so hope you are all OK, getting some sleep and happy!

NeedCoffee · 05/02/2009 14:20

thought that after many of us had said it would be nice for us all to meet we should discuss it and see where is the best place and when...

we need somewhere central, and child friendly....

I am in London, where is everyone else?

Scotland here - central belt.

Hull, but can travel, are we just doing us ladies or our other halfs and/or kiddiwinks aswell

South Wales, but can travel (within reason!) ...

Manchester here. I think we are fairly far flung!

I'd rather bring other halves / kids with me ...

Other halves and rugrats would be best i reckon!

ahhh yes, good idea, bring the men and they can look after the kids while we drink wine and chat :-

............. a girl after my own heart!!!!!!!!!!!

brum's quite central

erm weather depending I went to an ace place t'other year called Wonderland. Its in Telford park and is fab for kids (lits like a theme park for toddlers - displays and rides all based on nursery rhymes. Not v expensive either) Its in a very lovely park (picnic? - again would be rather weather dependent) and there would be other areas of interest around Ironbridge / good pubs with nice food.

Cack for scotland tho - sorry.

Other idea is if there are any chinese new year celebrations? www.wonderlandtelford.com/index.html
looks fab, i'm up for that, but its whether others can make it, needs to be as many as pos!
any dates in mind?

i've had a look at the travel lodges for some weekends in March but they're about £40. Maybe worth waiting to see if any £9/£19 ones come up for people that live further away?

I dont want to scupper any earlier meet up ideas but I seem to remember us all talking about doing the fun run (or saunter in my case) with Lisa in Birmingham in June/July... or was that my imagination?

that sounds good too Margo, I vaugely remember....Can you remember what date? We're going down to Wales on the 19th July and heading back up the next week, staying in various travelodges so i hope it wont be around then-unless its on our way back, then should be able to! xxReply to Your Post

HI all (muppet)

It was my idea to do a fun run but I can't make it now in June/July as I'll be stupidly prgt at that time.( I don't have to be there so still go ahead!!!!)

I would love a meet up and it's about 2 hrs awayf rom me so that's fine.
How about Easter hols?

I like the idea of the brum meet up but i'm almost in scotland and it's about 5 and a half hours from us, will see what other people say and what develops. We could always recreate the up north one we never got round to... I think it was me, stefka, alicet and choc... Forgive me if i've missed anyone?

I am in Derby so pretty central. I would rather have a night off from the hubby and kids and just have a girly night out.

I'm pretty flexible time wise but it will be cheaper coming on my own so whatever happens I'll not be bringing baggage :-)

I'm good for anything, anywhere(within reason) with or without baggage.
easter hols i could do but we're driving up to liverpool on the 11th of April to fly at stupid oclock on the 12th so not after then obviously and its dd1 birthday party on the 8th, so can't do round then, other than that i'm easy ;-D

same here - happy to go with the flow.

alice-see above, tried to take names out, i'm sure you can guess who wrote what mainly.

NeedCoffee · 05/02/2009 14:27

hummm, well, you get the general idea! Maybe if you say no to the offer they may up it, can't your agent mention an extra few grand should do it?

FT/inzi-hope the bathrooms look fab. Inzi, you are such a big softy!! that's real cute

teething here as well, all through the night although Shannon still only has 4 teeth, 3 bottom and 1 top

muppet-dd1 wipes bogeys around her room too, aren't they gross!

can't remember anything else, sorry!
news from here, Rich may be moving to Amsterdam for a better job and wants us to go, its a definate no no atm for us, maybe in a few years when dd1 would be able to travel to see her dad on her own, but anyway, he's looking at taking it and living over there...i don't want him to, butalso don't want to hold him back..will see what happens.

We haven't had snow since Monday, none at all.

Stefka · 05/02/2009 21:20

Just a quick hello as I am still trying to prepare for my first day tomorrow.

Lovely story about the princess Inzi! Dareh pointed to Upsy daisy today and said muama. Not sure that is quite so complimentary!

muppetgirl · 05/02/2009 21:36

good luck stefka xxxx

Inzi - Jane is so lovely!!! We jsut get 'quack' at the mo (what does that say about me?!?!?!)

FloriaTosca · 05/02/2009 23:17

Good luck for tomorrow Stefka

Aww Inzi! that is a snippet to write down in the memory book ....

Needcoffee; oh no!!!I hope you and Rich can sort something out...I understand your dilemma...it must be tearing you apart (((hugs)))There is a really good ferry sevice from Hull to Rotterdam isnt there? [grasping at straws emoticon](says she who has absolutely no idea about the distances from Rotterdam to Amsterdam) I am truly sorry.
