New thread starts here!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pigleychez · 26/02/2009 19:57

Isaidno- Claires is great as in the kiddy section they do little bands and clips especially for tiddlers. They are slightly smaller than normal size clips dont dont swamp her head!

sweetkitty · 26/02/2009 20:09

Isaidno - I am forgetting you have older boys, you will be desperate to get all the hair stuff for Poppy, I am fed up with it all now, I am forever buying new clips and bobbles but still cannot find a matching set in the mornings, I look wistfully at my friends with boys that don't have to "do" their hair every morning. I have a friend whne she is round she asks to brush DD1's hair as she only has boys

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 26/02/2009 20:20

I'm so of you all talking about all this girly frilly pink stuff!!!! I would love to go shopping in Claires! 3 of my friends are having girls in the next 2 months, so they'll get all sorts of wierd and wonderful things!!! I won't be able to help myself!

sweetkitty · 26/02/2009 20:41

Jodie - it's a mixed blessing, boys cost a lot less than girls as well as the pink hair clips, theres bangles, rings and beads, all sort of accessories and tights I am forever buying tights.

I get up to two masses of frizz I have to tame every morning with the help of detangler spray and cbeebies!

Mummywannabe · 26/02/2009 20:44

Pigley - oh my, what an absolute little srumpot!
Sweetkitty - don't feel bad. Seeing your G.P is a good thing. To be honest have had moments when i wondered if i was suffering from mild PND, seems to be getting better but was toying with the idea of seeing HV.

Well Max has decided to scream as soon as i sit him down to eat . If we are out he is fine, if people are here he is fine . Think he is playing his mummy! Plan tommorrow is to get him out as soon as he creates - even if he has had nothing, Guessing he will give it up. Have tried feeding him in different rooms, chairs etc - no effect. Really stressed - which i know isn't helping. Any one got any ideas or suggestions?

On the plus side we popped into nursery today, i stayed but he loved the room and girls, i have never seen him so excited. Bless, i know he will cry when i go but i'm glad he wasn't overwhelmed by the environment.

cass66 · 26/02/2009 20:47

yes, I am constantly buying hair bobbles from 'Claires'. my 2, esp dd2 has such fine hair I need the really small bobbles. and I don't know where they all go! (prob the same place as the odd socks and the baby spoons?)! As for clips and matching, well, I've given up.

Boys are so much easier all round, nappy changes are easier (no girls bits to clean!), clothes choices easier, hair etc. But I can say that as I already have 2 girls!! I have at least 2 friends who would have a 3rd child if they could garuntee (sp?)it was a girl!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 26/02/2009 21:04

cass make that 3 friends! (If I can be cheeky enough to call myself a friend! )

Mummywannabe Glad it went well today, it's so much easier when you know they are happy isn't it! Sam got so excited when he saw the girls this morning and held his arms out to them for a big cuddle!

SK I have really bad days too, when all I dois shout and scream and rant (DS1 sat on my knee the other night and said, Oliver no like mummy shouting ) I have toyed with the idea about asking for anger man. courses It's such an overwhelming feeling that washes over me. I can't magine what it's like with three. Good luck with the doc.

Rumpel Where are you?

bebejones · 26/02/2009 21:34

Pigley - Abigail is adorable, so cute with bunches very very P has no where near enough hair & coz she looks better in darker/bright colours I am sure people think she is a boy

SK - well done for taking that first step. I know what you mean about the shouting etc & I only have P and I know she can't help it when she is annoying me & fussing but I just can't stop myself & end up in tears. Think you must be super mum to do what you do xxx

Tried giving P less milk to encourage her with solids....no difference! Still only averaging 6 spoonfuls & the toast she had this morning just got thrown across the room, one bit actually hit the cat!!

cass66 · 26/02/2009 21:56

Jodie, of course you can call me a friend!!

Re nursery. Ed is happy at his, he is surrounded by other babies and carers, he eats everything that is put in front of him, and has even learnt to take formula - his first week he took about 1oz, his fourth week he took 2 6oz bottles! I've stopped expressing at work, as I only squeezed 2oz out of both boobs, and I barely have time to do it during my working day! My supply seems to be ok and I only work 2 days a week. And Ed prefers formula at nursery and breast from me. I think I feel worse about leaving him than he does!!

disneystar · 26/02/2009 22:33

just uploaded some pics of sam im a bit mean really as i playing with it and put it in bunches......lol

thepuddingchef · 26/02/2009 22:42

I just popped on here to have a quick look and am still smiling at the image of Sam and his bunches..... Disneystar....inspired! He is looking so well....and he does win on the hair stakes hands down!
Hope everyone is well, will go and read some posts now and catch up!

disneystar · 26/02/2009 22:51

mummy wannabe why dont you try feeding him on you lap maybe it will help?
often samuel isnt happy in his chair so i sit him on my lap and hes ok then

disneystar · 26/02/2009 23:09

do any of your babies have preference cuddles as if im holding sam theres no way he will go to his daddy
and if hes holding him sam just cries and holds out his arms to me, got big separation issues here as well hes so clingy,
very cute though constantly kissing me and going ahhhhh slobbering all over me with his dribble.....lovely.
he cries when in the car now if he cant see me which is hard when im driving.

Mummywannabe · 27/02/2009 09:25

Disney - Max is going through the same, screams if his dad has him and he can see me! poor daddy feeling a bit sad about it, tried to explain its not personal.

Max won't feed on lap. Gonna try giving him a few ounces of formula first as i remember last time he went like this it seemed to help. He is obviously very hungry at moment and wonder if the delay in getting the solids in frustrates him. Trying to be a calm mummy about it today.

mama2leah · 27/02/2009 11:07

i go tmy due date
10th august, makin me 16weeks4 days today stil in shock

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 27/02/2009 12:31

Wow M2L!!!! Congrats! 16 weeks already, thats amazing. I must admit I;m abit of you!

TJuice · 27/02/2009 13:01

sk - glad you are going to the doc's - you have such a full load, i would be wrecked if looked after 3 with no help, especially if you're not sleeping. Everything seems so grey when you're tired . . .hope its useful to see doc.

MinnieMummy · 27/02/2009 13:23

I agree with the others SK I think it is a brave step to go the GP. Hopefully you have a n understanding one so it's not like s/he will automatically dismiss you/dose you up from the get-go.

Loving the bunches pics! Just a kind of Joan-of-Arc short do here!

Excellent news on the Sam-shuffle as well Disney.

Belated sympathies to LL, sorry haven't said it sooner.

Am soooooooooooooo tired today, yesterday I took both of them to London ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT (yes, I am ridiculously pleased with myself for that) and we met a friend, went for lunch and to the aquarium (pics on FB!). Unfortunately the aquarium was quite literally a building site so not too much to see but enough for DS. He's just started saying 'yes' after a year of 'NO!' so when I asked him this morning if he had a fun day yesterday he said 'Yes! Bus!'. Cute! However neither he or Poppy got an afternoon nap so they are both flaked out right now, do I do housework/stay on MN... hmmmm...!

Kaz1967 · 27/02/2009 15:56

bebejones Mum declared her MS she had to at one point she could not stand and another had double vision, and also has lost the feeling in her hands, Her GP is happy for her to continue driving as long as she is well and DVLA were fine.

I'm still shattered Kez was so tired yesterday she fell asleep in her lunch, could not be bothered with supper, and only wanted boob, so want to go to bed now as she is asleep but have builders on roof sorting chimney and slates if they were not using the power and have cable running through window I would be

piggy just realised I voted for your little one on Facebook didn't realise she was yours it is a lovely pic

Mummywannabe Kez likes to do stuff herself she will not eat without her beaker she loves finger food and her own spoon depending on what it is she is eating. If I try and feed her from a spoon she screams unless she has one too and now she is attempting to put a full one in herself too god it is messy LOL

disneystar · 27/02/2009 18:44

hi all, well all ok here but a bit annoyed at dh,job
they told him today via text message that they have cut his money down typical isnt it.

because he hasnt been able to work for 2 weeks due to his accident at work, when they got his lorry back they said it was in a terrible condition, but what they meant was it needed hoovering
alan has psoriasis quite bad and because of that theyve
took him off nights so less money
and no £20 a night for extras so weve lost around £100 a week, surely they cant do this
just because he has a skin condition to cut his hours.....
samuel doing well and will not let me hold hic cup only he can do it alone and drains it,hes got a bad tummy at the moment and a bit unwell and feeling sorry for himself

sweetkitty · 27/02/2009 21:15

Well saw the GP, got some ADs and the HV is going to contact me don't know exactly what she is going to do though

Bad night again with B she is waking up every few hours or so and demanding a boob, today was a horrific day for a lot of reasons but we went to toddlers and I had to carry B the whole time as she was shattered, tried putting her in her buggy but she wasn't having any of it, she eventually fell asleep on me, transferred her to the car seat then I thought I would take her up toe bed as seh has no chance of sleeping downstairs, of course she woke up so tonight by 7 she was utterly shattered, took her up fed her she went to sleep straight away but woke at 8.30pm, DP went to her she screamed, I went to her picked her up cuddled her she screamed, ended up with boob again, I know she won't be down for that long again.

On a more positive note food is still going great, for dinner she had baby corns, carrots and green beans for finger food, with cheesy lentils and apple and yoghurt for afters.

Anyway enough about the me post

disney - nightmare about your DH

minniemummy - well done you London with two supermum

M2L - yey it's real, 13 months apart too, I think it is fab they will be so close, DD1 and 2 are 4 and 3 now and in the most part they play well together, in some ways it takes the pressure off you as they always have a little playmate so you don't feel the need to constantly entertain them. My advice is get a good double pram, Phil and Teds are ace (I might be selling one in a few months ) so you can get out most days. Are you going to keep BFing Leah?

Mummywannabee - B is the same, DP picks her up she keeps staring at me, it will all change in a bit when she realises Daddy is the mad throw them about one.

disney - forgot to say bunches were fab but Sam will not thank you for it when he is older

cass - hello glad you are ok

disneystar · 27/02/2009 21:49

thanks sk but i cut his hair tonight and he looks like a girl no longer......
have a look at his pic new haircut in a new jumperoo.....they are so good
