jodie - sorry about your job; fingers crossed something else comes up soon x

I've got to take dh to the hospital for his operation today (to fix the blockage which was a result of the vasectomy.) He's got 2 weeks to recover then I'm sending him back to work!! Whether he's better or not...

Poppy's sleep going well this week, we have had a run of 4 nights until 6 / 630 am. may it last this time!

I wasn't allowed the name Elliot because of ET, and dh also ruled out Dylan(my favourite for ds1) because it sounded like dildo.

Morning,

thank you all very much for your poo descriptions! I think we need to get A to have more water (he has more fruit than us already!), he still has 2 bf a day but he also has follow-on formula and I think that can cause constipation as well. He is having a poo once/twice a day but it looks dry and something is causing him pain.

Pigley - wow your house stuff is happening fast! fingers crossed for you.

sk - any photos of new hair? I have to admit when A pulled my hair at 6am this morning I did shriek "that's it I'm having my hair cut off"

tjuice - ohh enjoy your London Fashion Week, sounds very glam!

disneystar - you made me laugh with the tv remote story, A has all these lovely toys and what does he want to play with? whatever I have in my hand (tv remote, mobile phone, book!)

donutmum - glad you have settled into Bahrain and enjoying the expat lifestyle!

Jodie - what do you do? I am about to lose my job as well thru redundancy. Not sure what I will do afterwards. Scary isn't it?

For anyone scared of going thru childbirth I recommend Hypnobirthing. Next time if offered I will probably have an elective c/s . This might seem weird but my thought process is that I was so scared of labour last time and I did everything in my power to prepare myself for it and I got to 8cms at home etc etc etc but then had to have em cs, in my mind I feel that I did try and it didn't work out and next time I am going for (what I percieve) to be the easy option!

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 23/02/2009 09:39

isaidno - hope things go well for your DH!

pigleychez · 23/02/2009 14:59

Hi all,

Thanks for the reassurance about having number 2. I think its come to the front of my mind again because of the dream and the house move. We always said once we have moved and are settled then we would go for number 2. We didnt intend to start looking for a new house till summer but should be moving in in April. Think its made me realise that its not that far off!
I do really like the name Elliot but have a feeling that DH boohoo'd it from our list before.

SK- New hair sounds fab. Sometimes it nice to have a change isnt it.

My Abi is a tiddler too. Must be something in the name! My sister was going to throw out some dresses but when I looked at them they looked Abigails size and They are size 0-3mths! Theres nothing of her round the waist at all!

Donut/dothis- Glad your happy in Bahrain

Minniemum- Abigail does the same "bub bub bub" which sometimes turns into "blub blub blub". Very cute!

Jodie- Fingers crossed you get some more work soon!

Mummywannabe- I know what yo mean about being on the otherside of the fence. I can completely sympathis on the crying mummies when leaving there LO's for the first time at nursery!

Isaidno- Hope things go ok for your DH today.

Well we managed to get 5 hours from Abigail last night! Its been ages since we had that!
Then her nap this morning she slept for 2 hours! and then I had to wake her up!
Shes napping again now so see how long this ones for!
Im cheating and have the Roomba going upstairs so I can chill for a bit during naptime!

Off to Ikea tonight to check out some bits for the new house and have yummy meatballs for dinner!

sweetkitty · 23/02/2009 15:25

I am so tired I think I am going to fall asleep at the PC in a minute, Bethany asleep and the other two watching TV partly because they were fighting and screaming so much I told them to get downstairs or they would wake B.

Will post pics of new hairdo soon am still getting used to it, so glad I got it cut, it has lifted my face as it was so long and lank, not ot get rid of the spots.

pigley - will look forward to your BFP announcement then

isaidno - ouch your poor DH, hope he gets sorted soon, fingers crossed on the sleep front

Mummywannabee - you know he will be fine but I know it's harder when it is your baby, are you going back FT or PT?

disneystar - I am with you, quiet time always needed

Jodie - so sorry to hear about your job, what is it you did again? Do you think you will get another soon?

minniemummy - glad P is doing well, our "words" here are Dadadada and Eddie , cue the other two going "Bethany Dad is at work" or "Who is Eddie?" very funny, recent thing is one knee is coming up during carpet humping, only one then she doesn't know what else to do with it, she gets so frustrated. Love the way everyone loves Elliot, I think I will get a fish and call it Elliot only way I will get one

Dothidothat - hello good to hear from you, glad life is treating you well

libralady · 23/02/2009 21:15

I'm back from my jollies but my Nan died yesterday so am up to my ears in things to do and organise. Will try and catch up later. Hope everyone is well. Have I missed much?
LLx

sweetkitty · 23/02/2009 21:49

oh libralady sorry about your Nan

as for missing much not really just a conversation about poo

Kaz1967 · 23/02/2009 22:03

pigley some midwives provide a debriefing service after traumatic deliveries its worth asking about. There is also an organisation called birth trauma association which you or anyone who has had a traumatic delivery may find helpful www.birthtraumaassociation.org.uk

Isaidno · 23/02/2009 23:17

LL - sorry to hear about your nan - she just celebrated her 100th birthday didn't she?

DH now back from hospital in extreme agony (basically they cut open the scrotum, popped the testicle out, drained half a pint of fluid, and put it all back together again.) Will try my best nursing hat on for a couple of days.

OP posts:
TJuice · 24/02/2009 00:16

oh god, isaidno, that sounds dire.

poor man, poor nads!

libra - condolences for your nan.

sk - i checked your FB for new hair pics??? What a cutie your bethany is! she has an impish, rascally look . . .

I'm up late working on some text for a eco-sustainable luxury cosmetic line. they sent me a box of it the other day. very nice and all but a 100 ml bottle of body lotion retails at over 40 quid!!!! the lipbalm is like, 20 quid or something.

pigley - I am a long way off TTC #2 but also have worried about the birth?!??? I had a very good but very short labour with elodie and was lucky that there was an anaesthetist passing by when I was 4cm dilated. If things are normally quicker with #2, then I may have to hang around the hospital or have an inadvertant home birth (definitely don't want one of those). but seriously, you should think about talking about it, or counselling or whatever. they offered me some just because my birth was early and quick.
maybe hypnotherapy would be useful nearer the time too. ( I actually listened to fertility hypnotherapy mp3s when TTC. I had just had an mc and I conceived 6 weeks later. not sure if it was the mp3s or not but they were very relaxing!)

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 24/02/2009 09:15

Morning all, A has now started sleeping thru the night but had also now started thinking that 5:30am is MORNING and time to get up(in fact it was 5am this morning). I have also realised that I am working Mon,Tues,Wed going straight home on Wed to do sole child care until Friday morn (DH doing nights) to then go straight to work again. I'm already exhausted and it's only Tuesday morning.

TJuice - oh your freebies sound lovely, plus you get paid! (I hope!) Are you enjoying Fashion week?

isaidno - hope your DH feels better soon and has some super-dooper pain-killers (you may need them after a couple of days of playing nurse!)

LL - sorry about your Nan.

mummywannabe - I'm sure your DS will be fine at nursery, they are still young enough that seperation anxiety hasn't really hit them and by the time it does he will see his nursery carers as people he trusts.

sweetkitty - what facewash do you use? After pregnancy, breastfeeding, hormones etc maybe it's time for a change? Also hope you got a good nights sleep.

disneystar · 24/02/2009 09:48

LL sorry to hear about your nan hun x

isaid your poor dh it sounds awfull,my dh just read your descriptive post he shut his legs and said ouch so much sympathy here, and its so put him off having it done (man i was nearly there with the softly softly aproach)

i agree hypnobirthing after 6 births and very scared i tried it and had number 7 so it cant be that bad, trouble is we all remember the scary bits dont we.i love the part when they put the bubba on your tummy and its seems a miracle, and you dont give a fig about the pain then its all awwwww look.

M2L where you at hun ? are you ok ,thinking of you here

Mummywannabe · 24/02/2009 10:07

LL - really sorry to hear your sad news.

Sweetkitty/libra - going back part time. I'm lucky as i'll be upstairs in my office (well maybenot lucky as i'll be able to hear him!). My dearest best friend used to work with me and has just started back for me for a few hours in the day DS will be in, so he will have a friendly face. Also DH will pick him up at 4. I am so fortunate, will stop moaning.

DS has also started thinking its morning, today it was 4.30am , he then screamed every time i left the room till 6am! Little monster is playing me for a fool since he has been ill. Will tackle him when i'm feeling better.

disneystar · 24/02/2009 11:44

disneystar · 24/02/2009 16:56

well guys ive had the results and there good and bad good in a way that to me its not the worse news i could have recieved, and bad a bit i guess
point is i have a little heart trouble, the blood is too thick and its affecting my arteries hence the chest pains weakness feeling and fainting, apparantly all signs i need to change things and drastically,
i dont drink or smoke and am very fussy about what i eat now BUT 2 years ago i wasnt i only drank maybe a glass or 2 oevery few months and smoked 10 a day,
but that over the years and the take aways and everything else i guess has built up.
2 years ago when i changed my lifestyle i was in the cardiac ward with suspected heart attack,
but its ok its something i can watch and slow down now.
all the worry over samuel doesnt help but what can you do.
i have to go for another ecg... and see a cardiac consultant for a complete diet sheet and exercise plan, and a chat on realistic terms ....hmmmm
thanks for listening but like i said its not the worse news i could of had .
so i count myself lucky
plus my iron levels are 9.4 got to have injections....ouch

TJuice · 24/02/2009 18:47

thank goodness, disney! am so glad that its something manageable. you must take care of you, you are the center of so much.

sweetkitty · 24/02/2009 22:02

Evening all have uploaded a pic of the new hairdo and some more of the girls, including some of DD1 the same age as Bethany, twins 4 years apart.

Had a lovely day today DP was off went for a bit of a shop too, ended up buying the girls more clothes, DD1 just keeps growing.

Have put B in a sleeping bag tonight and put her in her own cot, I think we are waking each other up and she is kicking and punching DP in the night too so I think cosleeping may have to come to an end , I am also waking up and she has no covers on her hence the sleeping bag, saying that she is in her cot it is a bedside one so she is about 6 inches away from me.

disney - glad you are quite relieved about your results, looks like it's your bodies way of telling you to look after you for a change, hard I know with all your DCs, my iron was down about 9 after B was born and I felt awful.

M2L - good to hear from you

LibraJustice - facewash? ha ha ha I'm lucky if I take a babywipe round my face at night, probably why I have had a spot outbreak, I have always had greasy skin and hair.

isaidno - ouch that does sound rather painful, maybe a couple of days sympathy for your DH, just a couple mind

Hope everyone else is doing OK off to watch TV x

Mummywannabe · 25/02/2009 09:19

Morning all - off to work in a bit for a keeping in touch day. Sort of looking forward to it.

NIGHTFEEDING - am bottle feeding DS, weaning going well. As you know he was very unwell last week and has lost 8 ounces. Last few night woken up for a night feed at 3am - he hasn't done this since he was 16 weeks! I happily feed him as i know he needs to make it up somehow, however worried it might become a habit. Was thinking of doing it till weekend, then reduce the amount in the night and try to up the day amount(easier said than done -- he is so stubborn). Any one got any other ideas/tips?

pigleychez · 25/02/2009 10:42

Morning all,

Been busy doing stuff and was just about to go into town only to find Abigail fast asleep on the floor in the lounge- I havent the heart to wake up as she looks so peaceful so will venture out once she wakes. Plus gives me time to MN

LL- so sorry to hear about your nan

Isaidno- Wishing DH a speady recovery- Sounds nasty!

Disney- Glad the results were better than you expected. Still not good but you know what I mean! I know your busy but you must make time to look after yourself too

SK- Love the new hair.. looks really nice
The girls are so pretty! Bethany is such a cutey. How did the sleep go last night? Did she find her way back into your bed?

Mummywannabe- I would say just give it to him. He obviously needs to build himself back up so go with it. If he continues wanting to feed when hes better then you can sort that out later.

Abigail has been drinking much more during the day now. Shes never been a great drinker and we only got to finishing 6oz bottles about a month ago. Anyway with her cold lately she dropped right back down again and was only having a few ozs. Shes back to pretty much 6ozs again now which is great. Shes also been taking 8 ozs before bed which has been helping her sleep.
Last night she went from 8 till 1 which is the best we have had for months!! She would always wake at 11 for feed too. Long may it continue as the 3 hour feeds are getting abit much now- Theres only so much sleep deprivation you can take!

bebejones · 25/02/2009 11:59

Pigley, P is still only hit & miss with 6 oz feeds! Mainly she will do 4 1/2 or 5. But she only has 5 feeds a day & doesn't wake for night feeds. She did have a spell a couple of weeks back of draining every 6oz bottle so we upped it tp 7oz & she would stop at 6!!! She has now gone back to not finishing them again so went back to 6oz bottles coz I didn't want to keep throwing formula away!! I am sure she is way above her centile line now (being weighed today) despite not drinking the recommended amount (based on chart on box) tried upping amount & cutting it down to 4 but she didn't like that, plus it makes dinner time to early & that is difficult coz of picking DH up from work!

Does anyone know whether or not you have to switch to follow on milk, P still seems very happy on the first sort so not sure?!

Had a spot of luck re formula lately...we complained & got sent £30 worth of vouchers...dead chuffed, nearly enough for 6 boxes wooo hoo!

Also what happens about getting CTF voucher, when does that arrive or do I have to apply?
I thought it arrived when you applied for CB but as DH forgot to post forms & we were late I am worried we wont get one?!

bebejones · 25/02/2009 12:04

Oh also meant to say my insurance broker has told me I have to inform DVLA about the MS, even though docs have never mentioned it. DH rang doctor and he said he didn't think it was necessary but could see why from insurance point of view & that it wouldn't hurt. Have got DVLA forms & am really worried that I could end up with no license or facing annual reviews if they deem me unfit to drive!!! DH doesn't drive so its a complete nightmare situation & I don't know what to do. I am fine now with driving (was ok before but struggled with reverse gear & handbrake so stopped doing it til hand improved) just really scared of losing my independace, silly since my GP doesn't think it's even an issue & was really pleased that I was feeling confident enough again to drive!!

Poledra · 25/02/2009 12:24

bebe I have never switched to follow-on milk - as far as I am aware, there is no real need to. The older girls were on formula during the day when I went back to work, then I switched them to cow's milk once they were over one.

Re the DVLA, a colleague of mine has MS and does not have to have annual reviews, though he is expected to notify the DVLA of any aignificant change in his condition, I think.
