I;m no good on geography, DH is though (sales rep!!) I'll ask him....

ponto · 07/02/2009 20:26

I'm in Cardiff so too far away for the meet up.

Thanks for all the mastitis sympathy/advice, I thought I was a bit better this morning but then had terrible pain again during the afternoon feed and got cold and shivery again. Was at my MIL's so was able to have a bath (only showers at ours due to water heater disaster) and felt better for a good soak. Just managed to feed B without crying! It's like the early days of bfing with cracked nipples all over again.

Bebejones, you can sometimes get stains off bowls, teats etc by soaking in sterilising fluid solution.

Meant to say, I put Bryony in the backpack carrier for the first time this week and she loved it. It was so much easier than having her in the sling on my front and meant I could do things like wash up and carry a load of washing to the machine much more easily (I'm easily pleased, me!)

Mummywannabe · 07/02/2009 20:36

HI all. Once again i've not been on for ages.

My Ds has no teeth either but lots of symtoms.

Think i have made a poorly one! He had bronchiolitis over xmas and has wheezed for 7 weeks but getting better now! As for weaning, doing really well but now refused his bottle little bugger! Sneaking milk in his food and getting few ounces in every now and then, He has morning feed and evening so just about meeting the 20 ounces!

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 07/02/2009 22:19

Just been sent this, very funny. Quite old so some of you might have seen it before.

Meeting up sounds fab but far to far from me

Libra- Funny video... this is a good one too :
www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM2CORdyv8k

Finding evidence now that Abigails starting to actually eat some of the food she sucks to death! Sat so brilliantly today tucking into a bread roll whilst out to a resturant for dinner.

Saw estate agents today and everything seems to be going very quickly, surveys are being done next week and they reckon it could only take about 8-10 weeks till the move!

Bought Abigail a M+P rocking cow which she absoluetly loves! Shes really good and sits on it unaided, rocking herself.
The smile everytime she goes on it is amazing!

shortshafe · 07/02/2009 23:35

oooh oooh oooh, am excited by talk of a meet up! (you can tell, it's tempted me to post rather than lurk )

mummywannabe - Isaac's the same re refusing the bottle - little bugger just about scraping in the 20 ozs- I only moved him to bottles last month as I'm back at work - now I wish I'd not bothered!
Isaac's had a wheezy chest too, after nasty chest infection over xmas, still having an inhaler before bed.

Isaac's got one little tooth poking through -been there for months though and hasn't moved at all, just gives him loads of hassle !

Ponto - sounds odd but when I got mastitis some one advised me to 'comb' my boob, firmly, with a wide toothed comb, towards the nipple - felt strangely good and definately helped with the heat and swelling.

Disney - glad Jess is better, and wow at Sam rolling - Isaac only rolled a couple of weeks ago -can't keep track of him now!

Mummywannabe · 08/02/2009 10:43

Shortshafe - just started using a humidifier for DS and seems to help with wheezing, also slept through (have no idea if this was any thing to do with it!)

Minkus · 08/02/2009 19:25

Hey all

Would love a meet up! Brum is only about 45 mins/1 hour away so would be perfect. Would be great to meet you all. (If you can remember me that is )

Whats all this too with a new layout I've not logged on for sooo long it's befuddled me completely.

Louis doing great, no teeth yet and just getting over a nasty ear & throat infection but desperate to crawl and getting v frustrated that he cant! So cute. Really vocal too and getting good at self feeding (with finger foods obv not a spoon )
No sitting up yet though- still a right old wobbler. Nor sleeping, grrrr!

DH deserves my man of the year award as he's agreed that I can stay off work for the full year so won't be going back till June. Hooray I am so pleased! Was not looking forward to it, at least if I stay off the full year I know I have no choice when I go back so it's not like I am opting to leave the boys iyswim.

Glad to hear all yours are doing well, promise to log on more regularly to find out more! Not even been on facebook recently either so will have to have a peek there too.

Have a good night all x

shortshafe · 08/02/2009 22:17

thanks mummywannabe - will look into humidifiers.

Minkus - look at the facebook group, we're discussing meeting up in Lichfield - is that too far for you? Think we'd all do Brum if you could only make there.

sweetkitty · 08/02/2009 22:24

Evening all it's been snowing all day here today, really thick now, will make tomorrows nursery run interesting and I am supposed to be meeting a friend down the park for the girls to run about the soft play, the soft play is in a complex in the park IYSWIM. DP, of course, will battle into work no matter the weather.

We have decided to postpone Bethany's christening until September for a number of reasons but mostly as in a week or two DP finds out about his job, it looks like it will be reapply for a reduced number of job and he was only promoted to his new level 18 months ago so if he's up against people who have been there 10 years or so it's a bit

Both Bethany and DD1 are full of the cold with big runny noses, doesn't help when it's been really cold and have just realised we haven't been outside really all weekend.

minkus - good to hear from you and glad all is going is well with you

shortshafe - I hope Isaac is feeling better soon too

mummywannabee - oh no another poorly baby

bebejones - I hope you got some supplies today, it's not been that bad up here with snow, we had one day last Monday but after that it's been OK up until tonight, am so for DP he always seems to miss it, he so wishes it was last night so he could play out with the DDs today, he's much better at building snowmen than me and the older ones want me out with them and of course then theres Bethany wanting me with her, I do have to clone myself. Happy half birthday to P too, looked at your photos she is adorable

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 09/02/2009 09:18

So far this morning I have had to call the AA out for my car and locked myself out of the house, and I haven't even got to work yet.....

Minkus · 09/02/2009 10:11

Oh Libra what a morning! Have you got back in yet?

Mummywannabe · 09/02/2009 10:27

Oh Libra - poor you.

Well DS slept through again last night. Thats 2 nights in a row! Never done that before. trying not to get excited that things are getting better with sleep! Wonder if its the slumberbear, or humidifier or is he just letting me think i have it sorted and tonught will be up all night

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 09/02/2009 11:16

Hello, well I made it to work. Luckily our neighbours had spare keys which I had forgotten I had given them. The car has had to go to the garage for some TLC however which is a little bit annoying as we were hoping it would survive until summer (next MOT) at which point we are going to buy an estate for when the brood expands. I have been awake since 5:45am and am a little bit tired. ho hum at work now tho so time to relax, have a cup of tea and surf the internet.

minkus - great news that you can stay off for a year (if my DH is reading this I didn't want to stay off for a year)

sk - will keep my fingers crossed for your DH job, mine is pretty shaky atm so now how you feel.

mummy - glad your LO is getting better and hurrah for 2 nights sleeping thru.

Isaidno · 09/02/2009 11:57

glad your bad start didn't turn into the day from hell libra!

raining here, but at least it's washing away the snow. I've got to take dh to the hospital this pm to see the consultant and book him in for his op.

went to morrisons this morning and Poppy sat in the shopping trolley like a big girl; she won't be a baby that much longer - she'll be climbing furniture and answering me back!

re meet up - see the topic on the facebook group, but we're provisionally looking at sat 28th march, poss Solihull.

cass66 · 09/02/2009 13:05

Hi girls. had a few friends round for drinks on sat for my birthday. it ended up with just two of us drinking black sambucca and dancing and singing loudly to 'voice of the beehive' and declaring how profound the lyrics were!!! and broke the stereo and a few bottles, hubby came downstairs on sun morning to carnage!! felt a bit hungover yesterday, but it was worth it!!

Have just put Ed in his baby walker for the first time. he is now pulling my clean washing off the radiator and throwing the toys off the tray. and can only go backwards. with a huge smile on his face. he's growing up too fast!

Sadly I think birmingham is too far from York for me. but I'm sure you'll have a nice time and take some photos for us non-attenders. Cass

bebejones · 09/02/2009 13:29

28th March out for me, but may have been too far. P's Christening is the 29th & will be in Cambs!

Phoebe is 6 months old today! Can't believe it where has the time gone? She is so clingy at the moment screams if I got out of sight which is very unlike her! She has just woken from a 45 min nap (usually 2hrs) & screamed the house down, absolutely deafening!

So sad all the snow is melting although we are due for some more tonight.

SK, think it was only really bad here coz they ran out of grit for the roads & have been using table salt!!

sweetkitty · 09/02/2009 16:37

Libra - oh what a bad day for you

mummywannabee - fingers crossed it's the start of sleepy nights for you

Isaidno - oh no the big girl bit of the trolley, it's going far too fast, B is almost sitting up herself now as well, going far far too fast

cass - glad you have a nice time

bebejones - happy 6th month birthday to P

had a nice day here today a friend came over with her two twin DDs who are nearly 4 so all our big DDs played out in the snow for a bit whilst we chatted and drank tea, house is complete tip now but DP is coming home early tonight. Thanks for your messages re his job, he finds out on Wednesday what is happening, he works for the bank that the government now owns 70% of, no bonuses this year either.

bebejones · 09/02/2009 21:23

OMG it's snowing again!!!! Yay!

sweetkitty · 10/02/2009 10:22

Snow mostly turned to ice here and it's freezing.

Had to put B in a big trolley today after what Isaid no as the baby trollies are a disgrace, theya re all bashed and today were all snow that had turned to ice so couldn't put her in, usually just plonk car seat in normal trolley bit was getting too mcu shopping. I think she loved it but was getting a bit tired and kept throwing her head back, I used a blanket to cushion her back a bit. DD2 sat beside her and read her a Peppa Pig story, don't know if that was a good thing or not.

Have put some updated pics on FB if anyone wants a nose.

Poledra · 10/02/2009 10:42

OMG!! Orlaith went to bed at 8pm last night, I had to go up and settle her again just after 9, then she slept till 5.30 this morning . That's the most she's slept in one stretch since she recovered from her HDN.

Here's hoping she can do it again tonight. And no, I didn't keep waking to check on her, I just slpet through too.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 10/02/2009 11:13

Just a quickie as I have a friend and her DS's coming over for lunch in a min, but have been thinking about our 'missing' MNetters... So just a quick 'thinking about you and post if you have time' while I'm thinking about it

Donut, Peanut, EEC, Gilly, Mcchesers, Smudge, Twinkle, Butterfly, Libralady and all the others. x

When was the last time Tjuice posted?
