hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

nature babies do velcro and popper natty and there are some really natty (boom boom) designs

jammy, I'd do that with the cat, but put some plastic down before her box incase she pukes or wees and it gets on your buggy!!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 25/01/2009 19:46

no your not totally mad jammy sounds like a plan, we have to things like this all the time without a car.
might get some funny looks tho..

i am very tempted by the nature babies wraps, ebay do 5 for £30 in unisex/blue/pink bundles with some nice patterns. DH would kill me tho so thin i will get just the one

which nappies was it you were selling? i was looking into getting a stuffable for nighttime anyway, as MEOS need SERIOUS boosting and make her uncomfortable so i just chuck a disposable on her.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 25/01/2009 19:47

oh and (boom boom)! very funny

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/01/2009 20:17

I'd second the Nature Babies wraps, they are fab. I would choose velcro over popper, they are much easier to adjust. I have a popper Nature Babies wrap and I fine it a bit gappy round ds's legs. Although, saying that, for this age I find pockets much easier than 2 parters, much less hassle to put on and can be boosted with an old tea towel or microfibre dishcloth (Tesco Value 85p for 2)!

Jammy, I have pictures of you as a mad old cat lady pushing your "baby" down the road in her pram! Will she be wearing a bonnet?! Seriously though I hope she is ok.

Ohforfoxsake · 25/01/2009 20:25

Natty, join the groups in 'posh' areas. I've joined Richmond and Kensington and Chelsea. Reckon you get a better class of tat

I've just set up my new PC (well, technically its DPs, but I bought it for him for Christmas - out of his money). It was a brilliant deal from Dell and it is a lot of smart PC for relatively little money. Am delighted

Ohforfoxsake · 25/01/2009 20:26

Oh and sorry, my dryer went tonight We are in SW London.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 25/01/2009 20:41

lol at better class of tat

that's why we buy our kiddie's clothes in sainsbury's rather than tesco or asda....it's a better class of sweatshop

actually that's not really funny when you think about it......

Natty, I'd need to have a dig through, but I have a couple of bumgenius V2 in pink (onesize), a Drybees in yellow with daisies on (large, 20lbs plus) and I can't remember what else. Pockets with a hemp insert might last all night, but I never had a lot of success with night-time nappies so I'm not the one to ask. I might have some others that are girly...oh, I do, I have a greenkids daytime pocket nappy that is a waterproofed cotton outer with a strawberry print on it. Very, very cute under summer dresses, but not as bombproof as PUL.

what can I do with a baby who will only go to sleep with either mine or DH's pinky in his mouth? It's driving us nuts.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 25/01/2009 20:50

Dunno what to do about Bumble's finger sucking habit. Jamlet still likes a good suck on my fingers when she's tired, or feeling poorly, or hungry, or upset, or ...

OK, bath and bed for me. Had 2 late nights at my parents so need to catch up. Night all.

FrazzledFairyFay · 25/01/2009 20:56

Hi everyone. Daisy, have you tried a 'cherry' shaped dummy rather than an orthodontic one? My DCs both sucked my finger and couldn't keep an orthodontic dummy in, but had no problem with the cherry-shaped ones. Just a thought

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 25/01/2009 21:21

tried all sorts. maybe a bigger cherry one might work!

Ohforfoxsake · 25/01/2009 22:11

DS1 was attached to my little finger. Eventually he would suck his index finger (rather than his thumb). You can try to encourage him to find his own hand.

DS1 stopped when he was 3 and at nursery. Which was fine.

LittleMissNorty · 25/01/2009 22:16

I've always used latex cherry dummies....and have the stash in for the next one already

Moses basket our in the bedroom.....nappies / wipes etc all sorted....feels a bit odd.

Sounds like a good idea re cat / buggy Jammy . hope she's ok.

LittleMissNorty · 25/01/2009 22:17

up in the bedroom I meant .

where's Ria? Haven't seen her over the w/end....unusual for her..

FrazzledFairyFay · 25/01/2009 22:34

I'm an idiot. I went in to put DS' blanket over him, on my way to bed. He was partially lying on it, so I moved his feet, and now I've blardy well woken him up. Why, oh why, didn't I just go and get another blanket?

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 25/01/2009 23:06

I'm trying to encourage him to find his own fingers foxy.....the roll of duct tape is beside my bed as I fear I might need it soon

I am having to lie next to him with my finger in his mouth and propping that arm up on my other which is supported on the bed. Comfortable it is not!

Small result tonight with a dummy though , but then tomorrow he will probably act like he's being throttled if I try it.

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 09:26

I remember turning the Moses basket around 90 degrees so DDs head was close to my hand and putting my hand across her face spider-like, to keep the dummy in

Hope your cat gets on OK today Jammy....

I've got to get out of the house today....except I'm knackered and very fat and have nowhere to go or nothing to do [sad cow emoticon]....last time I didn't have time to get like this, I was only on mat leave 2 weeks and I had her....everything is done and sorted - except housework - and I don't feel like doing that!

LackaDAISYcal · 26/01/2009 10:43

Morning Norty.

He seems more accepting of it today thankfully. Except DD keeps stealing it out of his mouth!!

Hope you can get out for a bit. Are there any local toddler groups? or a pub or cafe with a soft play attached? Wacky Warehouses do parent and toddler mornings. You sit and have coffee and cake and DD runs herself ragged. It's a win win situation

I think I am mc'ing

Don't feel good
bleeding

LackaDAISYcal · 26/01/2009 11:07

oh bugger fury

Is there an early pregnancy unit near you? They will usually scan if any bleeding. Some need a GP referral but this can be done over the phone.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 26/01/2009 11:09

I think there is... will give it a couple of hours, i don't think there is anything they can do anyway?

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 11:14

....ring the local hospital....are you at work? As Daisy said, sure they will scan you.

Thanks Daisy....none of those near me, but might look at yell.com....horrible mother aren't I....she's never been to anything like that before....my anxiety issues getting the better of me I expect....are they all full of groups of young mums sitting around chatting and kids that know each other?

I do need more indigestion stuff from boots....that'll be an exciting trip out...and swings perhaps....

Got a childcare voucher this month and it turns out my employers have forgotten to take the money from my salary....think I'll see if they realise!!

LackaDAISYcal · 26/01/2009 11:21

Fury, they can at least tell you what's going on in there. Lots of women bleed but the pregnancy carries on and equally lots bleed all the way through for various reasons. If you are in the latter category, then regular check ups will probably be in order so better to get it checked. God, I feel for you

I've never been Norty, inspite of good intentions; there might be, but when I've taken them during normal hours when DS is with us there are a mix of groups of parents and individuals. I would think your heavily pregnant state will make sure that someone talks to you whatever

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 26/01/2009 11:24

I am feeling a little bit better so will wait a bit.
Yes I am at work - will see how I go after lunch, if I am no better or worse will give them a call.

Norty - I sometimes go to soft play kind of places, there is usually a mix, some little groups of yummy mummys chatting, some parents just like me sitting there not knowing anyone!

LackaDAISYcal · 26/01/2009 11:51

fingers crossed fury xx
