hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

OP posts:

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 22/01/2009 21:42

sorry about the car jammy. I've always regularly "remodelled" the corners of my cars so I know the financial pain of getting it sorted!

How is DH's business going?

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 22/01/2009 21:48

DH's business is OK. They moved into rented offices this week. Not sure if it'll be a long term thing, but this contract will last until May/June I think and we'll have to see after that.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 22/01/2009 22:03

norty....the buggy is in tamworth! I love online tracking

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 22/01/2009 22:05

that's good about the business for now jammy....and you are getting your dining room back!

LittleMissNorty · 22/01/2009 22:15

....where is Tamworth then?

Quilt and pillow in the cot not going well....she's pushed both out of the way and is kneeling in the cot, arse in the air ....perhaps i will have to invest in 18-36 month sleeping bags....

Ekka · 22/01/2009 22:38

Norty, so your dd does that too?!?! Thats the only way dd will sleep. We just invested in some fleecy sleepsuits (Primark £3) and have a long-sleeved bodysuit under that and she sleeps ok. She's finally learnt that if she wakes & she's cold she can pull the quilt over herself (though normally she still yells for "dad'n" - haven't I trained her well

Jammy - sorry to hear about the car...

Baby brain is still in business here, can't remember any of the other posts I just read .... Except one - daisy HOW are you getting bumble to sleep so long? Matthew sleeps max 3hrs at a stretch. He did about 1 week of doing a 6hr stint, then back to 3hrs... Overall he is an 'easier' baby than dd, but I was naive in thinking that the sleep thing would be easy/work itself out quickly like it did with dd.... Note to self, all babies are DIFFERENT .

Must go to bed, we've all got colds and I'm feeling sorry for myself, so am going to get an early night and hope that ds stays asleep for longer... Night all

Norty - we have had a pillow for ages so that was no problem, but recently we moved to a duvet and had the same problems as you (including the arse in the air etc).

It's worth perservering!

Make sure that she is warm enough (ie long sleeve jammies and a vest) so that if she gets out of the duvet she won't get frostbite, and go with it. For the first few days we were up 5 times a night as he was crying as he was stuck in it/cold/hot etc, and it was on and off for about 2 months, but now he is fine in it and can pull it over himself etc.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 23/01/2009 06:48

Morning all. We're still using sleeping bag here. And yes she does sometimes sleep with her arse in the air

We're off away for the weekend today. DH is going to a lads' poker weekend at a mate's house that is halfway to my parents. So we're carrying on from there to go see my folks for the weekend.

LittleMissNorty · 23/01/2009 08:27

Morning

Have a good weekend Jammy

DD ended up sleeping on top of the duvet, arse in the air and I covered her with a blanket. I will perservere....I'm sleeping in there atm anyway so can keep her covered easily enough. She went to bed early last night at 6.30pm and didn't wake up once until 7am....don't know what my sister done to her, but she can do it again .

I've woken up with a bad head....taken some paracetamol and trying to keep calm, as I don't want to be admitted....I have things to do this weekend, and having a baby wasn't on the list.

One of my fish has reappeared. We bought 8 neon tetras to start the tank off, and by Wednesday, there were only 7....we had all the plants out etc and couldn't find it anywhere....anyhow, today there are 8 again......WTF???

Bumperslucious · 23/01/2009 08:58

LOL at having a baby wasn't on the list!

We do fleecy Primarni sleepsuits here too, DD is fine. We cover her up before bed. Blanket is usually off by the morning, as are the sleepsuits with a "oh do" [oh no] when we go in there (oh no, my pyjamas just fell off!).

This week DD slept 8-9.45 (sorry Ekka!) but I was however up at 6 stressing about work . DD always does the really late naps when DH is at home, though I can't complain, atm she is usually still in bed at 8am!

Got my knitting group again today! Won't be able to go much longer though as I will be working Fridays

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/01/2009 14:39

Hi everyone. Norty, sit down and keep your legs crossed .

DS wears long sleeved top, fleece pjs and a fleece suit. He sleeps on top of a sheepskin and has a cover, but never uses it. We also keep the heating on low overnight, most nights . He still wakes up with cold hands and if we don't put that many layers on him then he wakes up cold and crying. I am always cold in bed so I think he has my problem

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2009 15:15

But a baby would be nice Norty. And its going to be a shitty weekend anyway, so what else could you be doing?

Just got back from hospital with LO. She had her kidney scan following her infection last July. It was pretty hideous, but getting the cannula in was awful as they took ages, couldn't do it, had to have a second attempt once the staff had a breather. The scan was the easy bit. She is now scoffing her third satsuma in the row, said 'more poo' and prompty farted and laughed. I am such a proud mum!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 23/01/2009 15:15

ellen wears PJ's and vest, or nightie and vest, (depending on whats clean and how cold it is) she has a duvet as well. its an ikea cot duvet they dont state the tog, how do you think i could find out?
she woke up 4 times last night, just tucked her back in and she was ok, but wondering if maybe she is cold? tom has the same and he seems fine and is sleeping thru no problems, however ellen is awful atm, ive had to put the side back on the cot cos she kept coming in to me and refusing to sleep in her own bed.
maybe she is cold.
will add an extra layer, a cellular blanket do you think? or extra clothes?

toms potty training going well, only one accident today, told him that if he is going to wet himself during telly programes i will leave the telly off till he learns not to do it. he now goes in each ad break without arguing lmao!
the only problem we now have is refusal to do a poo in potty and he is waiting till his lunchtime nap to do it, and the fact he doesnt want to wear a nappy at all at night.
which is a problem cos he is no where near ready to be nappyless at night.
pulls ups dont work either he wasnt fooled!
hmm

so what is everyone doing today its gone all quiet again.

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/01/2009 17:52

Hi Natty - have you tried letting him wear his big boy pants over or under his pull-up at night?

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/01/2009 18:18

i really should be doing bathtime but both of mine slept this afternoon and are bouncing off the walls. I, on the other hand, am shattered

LittleMissNorty · 23/01/2009 19:51

Awww Foxy...hope DD is ok....and results are ok...do you have to wait long? Must have been horrible watching it - did they sedate her at all?

My BP still up but not too high so will check again on Tuesday....good news!

My DD is really learning how to have a tantrum...doing wonders for my BP....

Then I got my payslip and payroll have cocked up my mat pay, Busybees didn't give me a childcare voucher and HR are arguing the toss over my childcare when I'm on SMP

Thanks Daisy

justbeme · 23/01/2009 20:16

Evening! Havent caught up yet so hope everyone is ok.
Have managed this week to cut BF'ing down to just the morning feed in bed ( so I can still have a lie in!!) God my boobs were soooo full for a few days!! (she had been feeding up to 4 times a day - obv for comfort!)
I'll give it a few weeks like that maybe and then we'll have to go cold turkey.
I read somewhere that after 6mths only 1% of mums are still BF'ing, so I reckon I've done extra well!!
Right off to catch up!

HellHathNoFury · 23/01/2009 20:28

BLOODY TANTRUMING DS

little sod spirited child is doing my pissing head in stressing me out somewhat

Do they come with a receipt?

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 20:38

evening all

norty; feet up, no stress OK. DH should be waiting on you hand and foot this weekend!!!

I hope you like it!! and that I didn't leave anything in the pockets. I managed to sen tallulah one of DDs socks in the wellies I sent up for E

Been to the Trafford Centre today to meet up with some of my November lot. It was really nice; there were seven of us, seven babies and two toddlers. La Tasca cringed when they saw us coming but they accommodated us and all the prams nicely. We had one horrendous heartstopping moment when the other toddler went walkabout and it was about 10 mins before we found her. Her poor mum was beside herself.

Looking forward to meeting up with you there at some point foxy, and as butterfly said, the soft play is really good (I was crawling around and went down the slide several times , helping DD you understand ).

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 20:44

foxy, I hope DD's results are clear; canulas are horrible for adults, never mind children.

tantrums...oh, yes we know all about them here. When DD starts, I just copy what she is doing; it soon gets her laughing and then she forgets what she was stropping about. Well, it's working so far anyway.

Hi jbm. You have done bloody brilliantly to still be BFing. I'm hoping to let DS2 self wean...but we'll see.

He is in his cot!!! for the first time this early, ever . Mind you, he only napped for about three hours today between getting up at 6 and going to bed at 8.30 so he must be knackered.

he sleeps in vest and babygro and double blanket, but usually kicks the blanket off. His hands are ffffffreezing, but I've read that doesn't mean anything. He doesn't wake, so he must be warm enough.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 20:46

Ekka, he has gone from not going to sleep until anything between 1 and 5am to sleeping 11ish till 6ish every night literally overnight. So have heart; it might happen soon for you!

HellHathNoFury · 23/01/2009 20:47

we are having about 5 a day here. That's when there is actually a break between them; some days it's just CONSTANT

he did one tonight when I collected him from nursery, I just carried on as normal then I realised everyone was staring at me with their jaws on the floor, like I had just punched him.

I said 'what, doesn't he do this here then?' and they said no.

So now I am wondering WHY he does it ALL the FRICCKIN TIME at home but not at nursery?!

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 20:49

and as i'm obviously talking to myself .....

DD is just in vest and babygro as well, but she now has a duvet and pillow; they are from the toddler bed and we are trying to get her moved into it in stages. she slept in it for two nights, and has screamed at it ever since....mond you, now we have the second cot, there's not such an urgency to get her out of her cot I suppose.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 20:51

Hey fury

They always save the worst behaviour for the people they feel most comfortable with. When he tantrums at nursery and not at home, that's when you need to worry

grit teeth, and repeat ad nauseum...this too shall pass!
