hi sorry once again for not being on much i do try to read posts but your all to quick!

chloes now 19m and am feb up with the paeds pushing us, can i ask how many words your lols are useing and are they clear? also how much they weighing? i know imay have asked befor but the speech and nurses wanting more from us, but i just think its cos we under them, dont think myself shes that behind please be honest! chloes says 3 words but not clear and weighs 17lb 8oz

Sputnik · 12/01/2009 15:46

Trace, my DS says mum and cat and possibly car. Not clearly really, and pigeons and dogs are cats too as far as he's concerned. DD was just like that too, and her speech didn't really kick off til she was gone 2. Can't shut her up now!

He weighs, erm, a lot. Maybe about 33lb.

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/01/2009 15:50

Hi everyone. Ria that's so crap. I'm no expert, but will resigning not affect his benefits? It might be better to go through the grievance procedure.

Natty, that is also crap.

Hi Trace. I have no idea of DS' weight I'm afraid, although he seems large for his age. He's wearing 18-24 clothes, if that helps. He says about 10-15 words but none very clearly. We understand what he means by the sounds but I doubt anyone outside the immediate family would understand many, if any, of them. He does seem to understand most of what I say now though and will follow requests (when he feels like it!) eg "please go and put this in the bin", or "show me where XX's room is". I hope they get off your back soon.

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 15:50

Hi trace. I have no idea what baggins weighs but he is not a talker at all, he is a squeaker and pointer. He says Mam, Dad, I think Grandad (but that's favouritism cos it's my Dad), he says "ish" which means, socks, shoes, keys. car, tractor, nana, bye-bye. Maybe cat and dog. Bah is a favourite. But he doesn't use them all all the time, those are all the words he's ever said. He sometimes makes a noise like DS1&2s names too. He is a fat porky though he is eating again today

DH has an interview tonight when he finishes work. He has rung the number on the job ad too (as it is not his immmediate superior, but the catering director, so hopefully will find out about how to proceed), he is holding off written resignation til tomorrow, but he did give verbal notice this morning (i think it was his alternative to "feck off") I am a little bit annoyed with him, but he does have a fair point (just a long story that I won't burden you with)

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 15:54

oh,and he has no contract (when does he ever), was up for pay review next month, so I suppose maybe a trial period? I think he has so long where he can go back on benefits with no hassle, but I may be wrong. ARSE!

trace2 · 12/01/2009 15:56

thank you like i said i think its cos we under so many people they just dont want her slipping through the net! as for her weight i now shes under but she is now putting little on

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 12/01/2009 16:16

tom didnt speak at all till gone 2, but then he has got SN.
ellen speech is FAR advanced, the HV told me to stop comparing tom and ellens development as ellen is far beyond what she should be and it wasnt fair on thomas. (preens at ellens super babyness )
dont worry, she will pick it up, alot of ellen friends only have 2 or 3 not terribly clear words.
at least they are trying with you tho, im not getting ANYTHING out of my ppl, getting rather frustrated with the whole thing.
he had his name down for this developmental group thing, they tried to tell me last week that we were no longer in the catchment area for it, i went mental and told them that i had been waiting so bloody long he could have gone 3 times in the time we had been waiting whilst in "the right area"
they have agreed to him going mainly cos i burst into tears and told them if no one helps me with him i was going to leave him somewhere
iknow ellen weighs a little under 2 stone, dunno what that is in baby weights

im sick again

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 12/01/2009 17:59

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 18:10

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 12/01/2009 18:11

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 19:32

Charlotte Church has super taste in middle names

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 19:42

baggins went to bed at 6.30 tonight, no tea and only a tiny bit of milk. I think feeling better was maybe too much for him today.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 12/01/2009 19:46

I am such a stupid-head!
We couldn't decide what to have for tea - defaulted to our fall back of fish finger sandwiches. Off I went to the corner shop to get ingredients and came back with fish fingers and reduced price cinnamon bagels but no bread! So DH went back to get some so I didn't have to admit to the lady in the shop how foolish I'd been

LackaDAISYcal · 12/01/2009 19:57

mmmm jammy, cinnamon bagels with fish fingers sounds delightful. We had kedgeree tonight; yum!

your timing was off for me natty...too busy with tea/homework/baby. sounds like the system is letting you do somewhat natty.

trace, DD is quite chatty, but a lot of her words are indistinguishable to people outside of the family and even DH gets them wrong sometimes. She can do simple sentences like "mummy pooter away" . It's good in a way that they are looking after you, and I suppose if they have no real idea of why she is having the fits they are probably wanting to make sure they aren't having any long term effects on things like speech. But, after nearly two years of it all, I can understand how poked about you are all feeling.

ria, I hope DH has some job luck soon. His industry seems a horrible environment to work in (having known a few chefs in my time).

Got the Wii Fit out today. My Wii Fit age is 32 .....but my Mii is a little pudding (although she is rather cute I think )

Daisy are you still doing the Usborne books? There are some I'm interested in.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 12/01/2009 20:19

I have no idea about jamlet's weight, but quite a lot. But she doesn't say much that's understandable, even to us. Mum, Da, yeah, and a sort of sqeaky "meh" noise whenever she wants something. But she babbles away a lot some of the time at least and does seem to understand a lot of what we say.

HellHathNoFury · 12/01/2009 20:32

Can I show off?

just caught up.... DS is HUGE - he is just starting to get in size 4 clothes, we have been buying 2-3 years but they are getting...'snug'. No idea what he weighs. Too much. Just had to buy a maclaren xlr as he is seriously too big for the normal one. He can't sit flat in it. He's not fat... just huge

He says about 100 or so words, can't shut him up. Just beginning to form sentences like 'coffee hot' and 'more orange'

HellHathNoFury · 12/01/2009 20:36

then again, he does eat more than me. I only wish I was joking.

HellHathNoFury · 12/01/2009 20:41

just discovered this

LackaDAISYcal · 12/01/2009 20:45

Wow fury...sounds like a big strong boy you have there ...but age four . DD is still mostly in 12-18 months

I am still doing the books Sputnik. I need to get my arse in gear and try and get some events booked though. I need to check, but I'm pretty sure that if you order them through my templated website you can get them delivered to mainland europe now.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 12/01/2009 20:49

Hi Fury. Just had a quick look at facebook to remind myself what your DS is like. Nice pics You should add some more recent ones though - Sept is ages away now!

HellHathNoFury · 12/01/2009 20:53

Daisy - yes - but I really had no ieda if he's 'normal' or not, since the only other babies I know of that his age and comparable are the babies on here.

I have endless battles at nursery, at they insist on keeping him in the baby room because of his age, but he is BORED!

The only thing I can think of is that because he is an only child he gets more attention/teaching/direction etc as we have more time. That'll soon stop

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 12/01/2009 20:53

Oh for those with DDs (unless the DSs wear tights!) - is it just me that finds they have ridiculously long legs? I know DD pulls on them so stretches them even so, I have only just thrown out her age 3-6 months ones and the brand new age 6-12 months ones fit perfectly!

Otherwise she is wearing a mix of 9-12 and 12-18m stuff, with a couple of age 2 tops picked up in the sales where we know those brands tend to have small necks (she seems to havea gigantic melon for a head, lots of tops get discarded because she has outgrown the neck hole way before they are too snug round the chest)

HellHathNoFury · 12/01/2009 20:54

jammy you are right, will do. As soon as I can find the card reader... still in a box somewhere no doubt!
