lol ali. He did show some interest in a custard cream today at a baby class I was at!

whinegums · 29/01/2009 22:42

Deb, thanks for posting about your experience of teeth and bf. I fed him about an hour ago, and it was a lot better - maybe because he's sleepy, or maybe because I'm becoming less sensitive to it.

Sorry you feel you are drowning in chores. Is there any way you could get someone in for a few hours to clean your house, or they could do the guest areas perhaps, and then you could do the house?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/01/2009 22:44

I know where you are coming from Deb

DebInAustria · 29/01/2009 22:47

You do get used to the teeth whinegums!!Thanks for the sympathy re the chores - employing someone isn't really viable at the moment, I just have to prioritise what's important and bugger the rest of the jobs!!

DebInAustria · 29/01/2009 22:47

glad it's not just me Five

pleasechange · 29/01/2009 22:54

debs I second what others have said in terms of you are doing a remarkable job just coping with everything you have on your hands. My house is most often upside down and I have only one DS to look after the occasional visitor. Definitely bugger the unnecessary jobs if you can!

abdnhiker · 30/01/2009 07:49

Whinegums - Fraser bites now too, I tend to push him in towards my boobs when he looks like he's about to because that makes him open his mouth and pull back. If he does bite, I put him down on the floor and walk away. It worked with DS1, but I do know that some kids are determined to nip no matter what you do!

Deb - I would be drowning too - I had enough trouble keeping our house clean for viewings and I didn't have the extra chores, that would have pushed me over the edge!

Paro, wow, 19 years! Moving internationally is hard but it sounds like you've got your priorities right and Holland will be lovely.

mellymel - yoghurt is okay from 6 months I think, Fraser loves his.

AliandHerScallywag · 30/01/2009 07:53

I live in a permanent mess too. Respect to the B&B ladies.

Well, we had the best night ever: 8.45 to 4.15 so 7h30. Then slept till 6.30. I can't tell you how easy it was to get out of bed both times this morning.

spongebrainbigpants · 30/01/2009 09:08

Ali, fab news about the sleep - can Peter have a word with my little monkey?!

paro, the move sounds so exciting - Holland always seems such a lovely country too (or is that just the fact I was stoned when I went there! ).

Not liking this new look forum - posts are crowded and hard to read.

Hi to everyone else. Off to see my boss today .

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/01/2009 09:22

josey · 30/01/2009 10:51

Oh GOD WTF have they done now, its too much for my last brain cell which is like a melted welly boot to cope with!!

My poor Mum was in a bad crash this week her car was in the local paper you wouldnt believe looking at it she walked away with a bruise!!!
mums car

Oli is doing really well sickness has calmed down since her tooth came through, she is back to 3 meals a day.

We had a problem with one of those Munshkin net things, they are very good to work for her with her speech so she has been having loads of fruit and especially loved Pineapple, however the next thing her mouth was pouring with blood, she had cut the corners of her mouth there was friction bleeding on her lip and her gums she had also chewd some of the net off with her 1 tooth.

josey - so glad your mum was okay and good to know that those net feeders aren't as safe as we'd think! Fraser's got two teeth so maybe I'll put mine away... he was never that keen on it anyways.

DebInAustria · 30/01/2009 11:36

OMG Josey - your mum was so lucky, is she OK or was she in shock afterwards?

Alli - so pleased you had a better night

sponge - how did your meeting go?

you'll all be pleased to know i'm back in control this morning as ethan slept for 2 hours this morning, b+b done, small apartment beds made, tidied and hoovered half of our place.

And v proud Mummy - Stefan just came home with his results from a test this week - he was top of the class with 54/55

grizzly baby got to go

DebInAustria · 30/01/2009 12:02

grizzly baby has gone to sleep again! I don't think he can be well, as 2 hours sleep in the morning is unheard of and to sleep again so soon

Amberc · 30/01/2009 12:11

Josey - Blimey - how awful for your mum. Thank God she's OK. What a fright she must have got.

Deb/Five - I just have no idea how you manage. We have a cleaner once a week so I only do the bare minimum on the days she's not around and that I find difficult to fit in! Deb if an agent and potential buyers come round , I find shoving things under beds/into wardrobes works well - we have the same problem!

Had a lovely afternoon with Puree&pearls and babypearls yesterday. I have never seen a baby laugh as much as Luke when he saw their little doggy Nugget jumping up and down. We were in hysterics! He went all red in the face and even did the silent laughing that adults do! Utter joy!

He's had another bad night though - three in a row now - beautifully timed to coincide with my return to work. Hey ho.

bitofadramaqueen · 30/01/2009 13:37

Glad I'm not the only one with a midden like house. Sorry if I depressed you deb Still packing - got to run!

Ooh, new look MN!

neenztwinz · 30/01/2009 13:42

Could it be teeth Amber? Are you giving him Calpol? E woken in the night four nights on the run, she had a really sore bum so think it was that. Well last night she slept through but Theo decided to wake! Gutted. I think it is his teeth cos he had red cheeks yesterday.

Did I tell you I went to see the Infinity Pro car seat? It was too loose unfortunately, it wobbled around and the seat touched the buckle when it was upright so no good really. It was a real faff to secure the seat belt round too, I have the easyfix base at the moment so i am used to it being really easy and not bothering with the seat belt. I have bought the Maxi Cosi Priorifix instead, that was the next best seat on the Which survey and it got the same marks on the impact tests as the Infinity pro. It was £194 tho against £130 for the Kiddy. Expensive when you need two!

pleasechange · 30/01/2009 16:21

neenz I've got the Maxi Cosi Priorifix as well but we want another one to go in DH's car. I know, at the price

A still has the runs after 6 days . Am seriously getting bored changing nappies every 20 mins, I am not exaggerating. I think he is teething as well to top things off

josey your poor mum, hope she's ok

spongebrainbigpants · 30/01/2009 19:43

Hi guys, well meeting went ok except they have asked me to consider working Mon-Weds one week and then Weds-Fri the other week, alternating . Would any childminder consider these arrangements even if I would? They assumed I would be using a nursery, but a nursery wouldn't do this either surely .

Anyway, I said no! Now need to speak to HR and clarify exactly when I need to start back - and also keep fighting for my occupational mat pay which they're refusing to give me at the moment .

josey, that crash looks nasty - how frightening for your mum .

Amber, sorry Luke is finding nights difficult - cute laughing though .

Right, I'm off again, dh is out and Alex is refusing to go to sleep .

Amberc · 30/01/2009 19:49

Neenz - Luke is constantly teething. Does teething ever stop? We have been dosing him up with Calpol. His face is also very itchy with the eczema - worse than I have ever seen today. That can't help. Asked the doctor and he said it wasn't bad enough for HC cream (I saw him on a good day) and he told me to take photos when it was bad. What a nob. That was yesterday. I have taken photos of Luke's poor face and I shall shove them up his arse. Trying out Diprobase cream now so fingers crossed.

parofleurmapu · 30/01/2009 19:51
