My DH promised to come home early today so I could have some time to have a long bath and relax. Of course he hasn't actually done it yet but fingers crossed!

Actually he's just feeling guilty because he's off to the states again for a week, and knows I'll be knackered and stressed by the time he gets back so he's trying to get brownie points ahead of time.

I do think it is lovely to focus on all the fab things our babies are doing, so often I find I just moan about Jamie's inability to eat/sleep so its good to point out how adorable he is instead.

Rolf · 28/01/2009 11:53

I feel your pain 5gomad. my girls were up between 4 and 6.

thanks for all the advice about thea's leg. i took her to the gp (on advice of pharmacist) and she has a hydrocortizone/ab cream.

Had such a fright with the stacking rings. Looked over to find Luke had the smallest one completely in his mouth! I panicked!! Fished it out and have removed the next three sizes just in case. Why do they put such small pieces in? Maybe Luke just has a huge mouth...

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 28/01/2009 12:10

LOL about Luke having a huge mouth!!!!!

I took ds to creche this morning and the lady who looked after him said he was cewing her arm! Luckily she didn't mind and said he must be teething as he was really dribbly and showed everything he could in his mouth!

This morning DP took ds down stairs, changed his nappy and made him some toast. That was nice.

pureeandpearls · 28/01/2009 12:53

Amber- LMAO. Luke does not have a huge mouth. At least no larger than babypearls who managed to fit her entire hand plus the chocolate cake it was holding into her mouth on Sunday.

Genius idea, this loveliest thing. Made meget out and update the Baby Record Book last night and I got all sentimental.

Yet to be impressed by lovely DH as he headed out to work super-early. Am sure he'll come up trumps later

5gomad- eek. Poor you. And poor anyone else who is up at that hr. It sucks.

Can we put loveliness and Creme Eggs in to thread title? (Sorry Amber.)

Now- must start blogging again.

spongebrainbigpants · 28/01/2009 15:52

Hi all, PP lovely to hear from you - and if you have mastered the art of changing nappies while R lies on his tummy please share cos nappy changing is now becoming a stressful battle !

My dh is always lovely - but he is doing pretty much all the night wakings at the moment (cos I'm struggling to manage my insomnia) so he's especially lovely!

Rolf · 28/01/2009 16:17

does anyone know where I could get a snowsuit - lots of shops are sellingspring stuff

bitofadramaqueen · 28/01/2009 16:19

Crap! Completely forgot about the baby record book. Also long overdue some blogging. On my iPod again so keeping in short.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 28/01/2009 16:20

Pull ups if you are not using resuables.

Rolf · 28/01/2009 17:14

You know those dollies that look frighteningly like babies? Well, I saw one of the mums in school today casually holding one very lifelike looking "baby", and I did a double take before saying "I thought that was a real one". And the woman said "yes, it is, I had it last week". I thought she was joking so went and poked it and it was a real one . I had no idea she was pregnant and I was so flustered (I was late for school) that instead of gushing that I couldn't believe such a perfect and immaculate baby was real, or that she didn't look like a newly-delivered mother,

I just gibbered hopelessly and made it all worse. I didn't have time to shower this morning so I probably smelled, too.

Amberc · 28/01/2009 17:21

Rolf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't laughed that much for ages

Amberc · 28/01/2009 17:23

By the way - took Luke to the swings today for his first ever go on one. OMG - It was sooo utterly lovely. He went mad with joy and laughed and laughed. I can't wait to go back again! It is actually amazing that you forget you were up at 4.20 when you have things like that happen.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 28/01/2009 17:23

SPonge also sit on the floor with Alex between your legs and literally pin him down by putting your lega over his arms.
Giving him a toy to distract him may help aswell.

neenztwinz · 28/01/2009 17:38

LOL Rolf!!! Those posh mums round your way...

Lovely things my babies did today... Esther sat on the mat giggling away to a toy cube she loves. Theo bum shuffling!! My mum was here and she nearly gave me a heart attack cos we were having lunch and she suddenly said 'where's theo?' He had been sat on the mat down to the right of her, I couldn't see cos the table was in the way, he had shuffled all the way up to the table and she couldn't see him cos he was almost under it. I honestly could not remember where I had put him - I couldn't stop shaking after cos for a moment I really didn't know where he was!!!

Been to look at the Kiddy Infinity Pro car seat today. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in my car properly, it is too loose. So it is the Maxi Cosi Priorifix for us I think. That was the next best seat in the Which survey. It is £194 tho whereas the Infinity Pro is £130. And I have to buy two!!

Esther has started waking in the night again - hasn't been eating well in the day but when mum was here today I thought 'if anyone can get her to eat, mum can!' and she did. It seems Esther just likes to have lots of attention when she eats. If you sit there with the spoon poised you can get quite a bit in. Usually I am busy with Theo so offer him a spoon then her a spoon and if she refuses I go back to Theo, but if you wait a few moments often she will open her mouth. She just doesn't like to open it on demand - only when she is ready!!! So I paid her more attention at tea tonight and she did eat better. So fingers crossed for her sleeping tonight. I know they say it is not connected but I think it is with my two for sure.

neenztwinz · 28/01/2009 17:40

Amber, we have one of these which the DTs love.

5GoMad, did you post on the wrong thread there?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 28/01/2009 18:01

No Sponge is having problems changing nappies, I was replying to her.

poppy34 · 28/01/2009 18:03

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 28/01/2009 18:22

Rolf that is funny! What size snowsuit do you need?

spongebrainbigpants · 28/01/2009 18:22

5gomad, thank you for the reply - we are using reuseables to pull ups won't do, but will definitely try the pinning down and toy distraction.

rolf, hilarious - I just had such a fantastic mental image of the woman left standing there wondering what on earth just happened!!!

Amber, that's sooo cute - swings are lovely. We are very lucky and have a park right at the top of our road so lots of park time.

Amberc · 28/01/2009 19:18

Rolf - maybe try ebay for a snowsuit? I tried to find one on the net and found nothing in Luke's size just really small sizes.

bitofadramaqueen · 28/01/2009 19:28

at Rolf

Ooh, I love that swing neenz - what age does it go up to? S would love it I'm sure.

I haven't seen my DH today and he wont be home till 11 so nothing to report on the loveliness front.

I have a mountain of chores to do though so I'd best get started.

Amberc · 28/01/2009 19:35

Rolf just checked and loads of snowsuits on ebay new or used.

abdnhiker · 28/01/2009 20:57

rolf I'm so laughing with you!

on the loveliness front, can I tell you how sweet my DS1 has been? We're getting the boiler replaced so have no heat, but have some electric plug-ins from the construction company (so we're not freezing, it's all okay). However, Fraser's crawling now and keeps heading over to see the very hot heater and I'm not used to having to watch him. DS1 has been watching out for him and making sure he doesn't get burned by calling me over and holding his brother's hand gently away. I'm so proud of my big boy! Especially since we've had some tough times lately where he's been too rough with Fraser, this is such a lovely change!

parofleurmapu · 28/01/2009 21:18
