Bit bored so thought I would start the new thread

OP posts:

what lovely posts about nice things!

My baby is lovely today because she thinks I'm the funniest person ever and laughs manically every time I smile at her!

she was less lovely on Sunday though, when she did a poo in the bath...

Rolf · 27/01/2009 19:31

Oh, forgot to say that I think paro's dress is lovely

bitofadramaqueen · 27/01/2009 19:44

Ok really, my baby was lovely today because he was so well behaved for his daddy, gave me the widest smile when he came home and has the most infectious laugh I've ever hear. Oh, and he's hilarious when he refuses to lie on his back for nappy changes for daddy and tries to clamber from his changing table into his cot while his exasperated daddy is trying to put a nappy and clothes on.

He wasn't so lovely yesterday when he vomited on me from a great height. Which reminds me I need to wash my jeans again!

Thanks Ali I'll look at that. I love gadgets. All ipod touch tips welcome.

parofleurmapu · 27/01/2009 19:50

Lovely posts today and lovely photos AH

Fleur is lovely today because of the way her face lights up when i get back from work. And because now she has learnt to wave and now waves at everything and anybody including the dog and cat!!

Re baptisms neither of us go to church etc I am baptized but Dp not. Family had been asking what were we doing. SO we've decided not to have her baptized but we are including her in our wedding ceremony by giving her a charm bracelet and welcoming her as part of our family when we give each other the rings.

parofleurmapu · 27/01/2009 19:52

oh and thanks all for all the comments on the dress I hope its still there in July as im going toplanning on losing some of these many extra pounds!!! (yeah right)

parofleurmapu · 27/01/2009 20:06

Me again was just looking at some previous posts and wondering where people were. Anybodyy know where last list of births etc is?

And ive lost all my saved tabs so lost all blogs can we link to them pretty please

whinegums · 27/01/2009 20:15

Hi all. DP and me have made up - he realised the error of his ways... (again!).

Awww, what lovely things you've all posted. My baby is lovely today cos he is just such a little charmer and we had a lovely couple of hours snuggling together in bed this afternoon.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/01/2009 20:17

My baby slept which allowed me to pay the tax bill, the painting bill and do the books.

spongebrainbigpants · 27/01/2009 20:19

AH, beautiful and I second that you have gorgeous children - proud mummy you must be!

Amber, poppy, HH, and anyone else wondering about christening/naming ceremonies - we feel the same way about the church thing so we're having a naming ceremony and IMO I think you can make it just as special. It's about the people you invite and the sentiment behind it - we're having Alex's legal guardians and two of our closest friends making pledges to him about the role they will play in his life.

The ceremony for us, and obviously this is intensely personal, is also a way of us saying thank you to all the amazing friends who held our hands and dried our tears during the hellish five years that we tried for Alex. We couldn't have got through it without them and we want to tell them that.

poppy, doesn't surprise me about the christening/school thing - in some areas of the country it's pay or pray if you want to get into a good school!

paro, I was thinking the same thing about some people disappearing - e.g. the green fairy? Where did she go?

Oh, and your dress is gorgeous - but I love Monsoon dresses!

spongebrainbigpants · 27/01/2009 20:21

Alex has been lovely today because my mum has been looking after him while I've been painting, and every time I popped into the room he gave me the biggest smile ever and held his arms out for a cuddle!

Rolf · 27/01/2009 20:32

My baby has been gorgeous today by thrashing madly in the bath and looking so pleased with herself. Also because she just adores DH. All the other children hated him as babies (I'm not very sympathetic though!) but she loves him to bits. He is so happy. He still doesnt do any baby jobs, it's just an instinctive connection.

DebInAustria · 27/01/2009 20:38

so glad I started the lovely baby thing, it's so nice to read about all our lovely babies.

Paro - love the dress

gorgeous pics Abdn

DebInAustria · 27/01/2009 20:40

Rolf - Ethan's started doing that too- - splashing in the bath, not adoring your dh!(which is so sweet)

abdnhiker · 27/01/2009 21:12

poppy crap that your local church is so paranoid about school entry! I'd be avoiding baptism on principle there...

paro love the idea of including Fleur in your wedding ceremony!

Thanks for all the comments on my boys! I feel all lovely inside.

The blogs I've got bookmarked are:

following Fleur (parofleurmapu )
Domestic Goddesque
Park&Park&Park&Park
something about all of us
Spirit of Place (abdnhiker)

but I think I'm missing some (almost forgot to add mine to the list!)

pureeandpearls · 27/01/2009 21:37

[Hums] "Then I look at you, and the world's alright with me..."

Cecily has been lovely today because she always wakes up smiling and laughs when we go tot get her. Of course it deteriorated steadily from there and ended with me tripping over the excitable-and-idiotic-hound and spraining my ankle.

Off to bed as DH watching Lost and I just don't get it!

DebInAustria · 27/01/2009 21:55

Hope your ankle's OK Puree

Thanks for the blog reminders Abdn.

I haven't got one but I have put 2 new photos on my profile instead.

neenztwinz · 27/01/2009 21:58

I feel like crying with all these posts! Rolf, that is lovely about your DH.

Sponge, LOL at pay or pray!

Poppy, no it is not normal for 8 to be baptised at once. It would put me off. It is a shame when vicars get cynical like that.

PenguinProject · 27/01/2009 22:30

I'm lurking again...

BDQ - I have now learnt, not thru choice, to change a nappy backwards (ie: R lies on his front). Wriggly little things babies...

My baby was lovely today when he was all wrapped up in the baby bjorn on his dad. With his hat on, he looked like a beautiful teddy bear, which matched his Dad who is growing a beard. (Deb - what a wonderful, wonderful question to ask! Thankyou).

Only skim read a few pages, but spotted the rows. Perhaps we ought to try this question with our partners tomorrow? What did your DH or DP do that was lovely, or did your DH or DP do anything lovely?

Back to lurking...

AliandHerScallywag · 27/01/2009 22:31

Ooh, I really need to update our blog. We have a new video to add. Will do it tomorrow.

About a week ago I started writing the loveliest moment of each day down in my diary. I thought it balanced out me obsessively jotting nap times down. Today's moment was at lunch when P wedged some cucumber sideways in his mouth and was grinning at me. Then he realizes that there was a another baby reflected in a glass door who was doing the same. He kept on turning and laughing at the reflected baby. 'Twas v cute.

Maybe we should build the "lovliest thing" concept into our next thread title? We are going to need one quite soon.

ahedgehogisHibernating · 27/01/2009 22:55

Loving all the lovely things.

Took Isaac to Guides tonight for chinese new year celebrations. He was so good, smiling, laughing and ... eating spring rolls. He did go for the fortune cookie as well, but I wasn't sharing that.

DebInAustria · 28/01/2009 06:15

Ally - like the diary idea

HH - Guides sounds fun, I don't remember doing anything like that in the brownies!

PP - your baby teddy bear sounds so sweet.

Now for your question, something lovely dh has done today, nothing yet, he's still in bed, I will report back later.

(Deb whispers very quietly, Ethan slept through last night - yippee)

Amberc · 28/01/2009 06:21

Might struggle with lovely today as Luke has been awake since 4.40 and is now playng on the mat and farting loudly!

abdnhiker · 28/01/2009 07:19

Deb - Fraser's still sleeping too. This is the absolute first time for us!

We have started giving F a cup of the Hipp Bedtime drink before bed & his bedtime breastfeed around 7pm. It seems to be helping him sleep, getting those calories in right at the last minute. He's only taking about 60mL from a cup, but it seems to help.

As for my lovely DH, he's taken out all the recycling for me this morning.

ahedgehogisHibernating · 28/01/2009 09:10

Morning all,

deb Yeah for Ethan so happy for you.
amber Sounds lovely with Luke playing, although not sure about the 4:40
AH well done to Fraser for still sleeping as well

Something Lovely DH has done.....[hmmm] set the (wrong) alarm for 6:45 this morning, so when it went off I thought it was the smoke alarm , he has gone to do some voluntary work today and had to be there at 8:20, and has taken my car, as his overheated on his way back from football last night. Although he did bring me a cup of tea in bed this morning.

Isaac is currently playing with the changing bag strap, despite putting him on the floor at least 3m away from it. But it beats him playing with the laptop cable.

ali loving the diary idea

AliandHerScallywag · 28/01/2009 09:21

DH's loveliest thing was being happy when P woke up at 8.30 last night as it meant he got to give him a cuddle. James is really missing seeing P in the evenings now that he goes down before 7. Then this morning he got up with P at 6 and took him downstairs for an hour before work so I could spend a bit longer in bed.

Welldone Ethan and Fraser.

PP we miss you!

HH your day in London sounded great.
