Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

Hello Hello!
BabyBee is a proper podge - he's in 9-12, 12-18. I pretty much decided just to buy 12-18 because he'll fit those for a while and I get sick of buying new stuff constantly.
I think it's great how different they all are too! Benedict claps and cruises but only stands by accident (i.e. when he forgets to hold on) and then promptly sits. Lovely pic of Alex standing VS!
I keep meaning to put some more on, but I'm so slow at it all I get pissed off and give up half way through. Will give it another go tomorrow.
Good day here, didn't make it it in to work after all as trains on my line still rubbish despite everything website said. But got a lot done at home and DP had day off to look after DS all day without my help. I (uncharitably) suspect he was trying to make some sort of point about the possibility of me doing housework and look after Babybee, as he mopped floors and wiped up in kitchen - but that did involve an awful lot of crying from B and exasperation from DP, so maybe he understands how difficult and wearying it can be now?
Anyway, I think he (DP) really enjoyed himself, so maybe now he'll feel a bit more incentive to get his application for flexible working underway too. He's applying for compressed hours, doing his week over 4 days instead of 5 - would mean BabyBee could have another day at home with him and we'd save a bit in childcare costs.
My day off tomorrow, we're itching to get out - I wonder if local library or surestart has anything on, walking distance is a bit limited...
Bumpkin...do a test. go on. poke. go on. poke. go on..

bumpkin32 · 04/02/2009 10:25

Hi Guys, thanks for all your advice. Really don't think I am, but my periods seem to be getting more and more irregular! Altho would love to be...
Unfortunately DH has taken my car today so I can't go anywhere (to get a test - sorry)!

ScorpiowithabigS · 04/02/2009 10:27

oh bum i love live tests! Are you still BF? if you are, ont worry about irregular periods, mine have only just settled, into a rough 30-35 day cycle.

Whats everyone up to today? its peeing down here

KnitterInTheNW · 04/02/2009 10:34

We're off to meet George's friends from the NCT group this afternoon, we were going to go swimming but almost all the babies have colds so we're going to a soft play place instead. It's uite new, really clean and well looked after. AND free for under-ones.

bumpkin32 · 04/02/2009 10:48

No, haven't BF since day 7 (had blood transfusion at birth, which apparently slows milk supply and DD lost 15% in weight so went to Formula). I totally agree with your chat the other day as feel the BF support I had was cr*p!
Then bled for about 4 months after so had all sorts of tests so spose I've only really had periods for last 4-5 months. I know if I go to dr they'll say to go on pill & don't want to do that as want DH to have to think about contraception if he doesn't want anymore (altho could be a bit late)! Also blame pill for not falling pg in the first place after coming off it (after 16 years!).

Soph73 · 04/02/2009 11:56

Morning all.

When we picked Sam up yesterday afternoon he was happy enough & only slightly warm. His temp was 38.4, which I don't think is too much to worry about. He'd eaten all his lunch but hadn't had his bottle (but he's only really taking 1 bottle at night now). Got him home, he wolfed down all his dinner & wasn't wingeing at all. Although he was snotty this morning he was a bit warm so gave him some calpol. However, everywhere you go there's someone with something. He's gone to the Guarderia so, fingers crossed, he'll be OK.

Peachy - fab piccies.

Sam was 8.5kgs at last weigh-in, which was last month. I think that's just over 18lbs. He's in mainly 9-12 months stuff. We have to roll trousers up though & he's got no hips so they're always falling down. DS1 is exactly the same. However, so were DH & I once upon a long ago

EllieG · 04/02/2009 12:16

Molly is ginormous - she's got really tall and is a chubster, last weigh-in was 21 llbs! And that was about 3 o4 4 weeks ago. I win a prize for the biggest baby. She is chubby but in proportion - she has shot up and is much taller than the other babies we know at the moment, but I suspect twill not last, as me and her Dad are not massively tall. She's in 9-12 months and has been for a bit.

peachy - lovely snow pics! Your boys are gorgeous - very pretty with all that curly hair and sweet little faces. Not that boys are supposed to be pretty, but am afraid yours are. Bas looks like such a little lad now! He's all growed up [sniff]

Have you tested yet bumpkin?????

Glad Sam is OK today soph - wouldn't want anything happening to my future SIL

I spoke to her nursery today and we have booked the first induction visit
16th March.
I told them I wanted a really long induction so they could get used to her routine and she would be comfy. My first day back at work is the 13th April, so that should be long enough. And if it isn't I will postpone it for -as-- long as possible a bit til she's ready

Ellie - well I'll have to insist that Sam starts doing even more exercises if he's got to compete with his future OH It's quite amazing really because Sam is even taller than his brother was at this age. AFAIK it's quite unusual to have a tall Down's Syndrome child. Actually, no, scrap that, I do know 1 person whose son has Down's & he's tall. Maybe it depends on how severe the problem is .... who knows! I sympathise with you Ellie about going back to work. She'll be fine, try not to worry too much. I know how difficult it is though.

Peachy · 04/02/2009 13:24

Soph with mosaicism would it depend opn where the mosaic'd geners (ykwim) are?

none of mine are tall, i'm 5'6 and dh 5 10 so average yet boy are tichy

yet my sisters lads- ! she was 5 8 at 11 (never grew again after) and her dh is 6 ' 3, her 5 year iold is as tall as my ds1

missed health check with hv yesterday as schools closed: forgot to ring. She'll guess why won't she? new hv so worried she won't 'know' our family but imagione we were, erm, mentioned in hand over!

Peachy · 04/02/2009 13:27

Ellie going abck is hard (having done it three times and maybe again in the autumn if --dh- makes me if he sin't working FT then but it does have afew advantages too in terms of esteem etc and you will cope.

Soph73 · 04/02/2009 13:43

Peachy - I don't really know. I suppose that could have something to do with it. Will have to try & do some research. DH & I aren't particularly tall either, I'm 5'5 & DH is 5'10. My mum's side of the family are titchy & dad's are average. However, all of DH's uncles on his Dad's side were over 6ft, the tallest being 6'8. So that is probably where the boys get their height from. Then again I suppose they could get to a certain age & stop growing, making them short-arses in the end. Ah bless

LadyBee · 04/02/2009 13:52

BabyBee is shrinking..sort of. He was off the scale in terms of length when he was born, DP is 6' with long legs and B's leg lengths always measured long in scans (and boy did I feel him kick!), but now he's just dead on 75% for height and about 75% for weight as well - he's 10kg still. So in proportion I guess.

God I'm bored. Walked up to local surestart and there was nothing on, picked up their schedule anyway and I think normally there would be a toddler playgroup in the morning so will bear that in mind for future days home. I really want to go back swimming lessons but nothing on the day I want. Am starting to wish I had two mornings at home so could be a bit more flexible about meeting up with people/doing activities with B. He's napping now - guess I should buzz about and get some washing on, tidy up a bit etc...or (ooh, procrastination) do my photos!

Soph73 · 04/02/2009 14:28

LadyBee - doing your photos sounds a lot more fun than tidying up. I'm a great procrastinator ... as you can probably tell I only come to work so I can MN If DH does get this job & I can cut down my hours then I'm definately getting internet at home. Then I'd be able to MN & put my feet up - can't really do that at school

LadyBee · 04/02/2009 14:40

have done them! New photos on my profile...after all that effort I definitely deserve a cup of tea. I mean, may as well have one now before the boy wakes up, right?

Soph73 · 04/02/2009 14:42

Deffo

Soph73 · 04/02/2009 14:45

Those photos are great. Isn't he adorable Think the picture of him with his back to the camera & the builders bum is worth keeping till he's 18

Peachy · 04/02/2009 14:55

so cute LB.

LadyBee · 04/02/2009 15:02

I know, I love the builder's bum one too - so much his father's child (obsessed with PC as well!)

Soph73 · 04/02/2009 16:35

Well, not long to go till home time, yay! DH prepared tonights dinner last night so don't have to worry about any of that when we get in and the guarderia haven't phoned so I assume that Sam is OK. Think I've made a bit of a rollocks of this girls night out I'm trying to organise for Sat, but hopefully (fingers crossed very tightly) someone is sorting it out for me tonight. If not there are going to be some very disappointed ladies round here tomorrow so shall have to hide under my desk. I've never been a great organiser, which is why it's quite ironic that I'm a Library Co-ordinator Anyway, shall love you and leave you for now. See you tomorrow.

KnitterInTheNW · 04/02/2009 18:25

BabyBee is gorgeous! I love the builders bum pic too.

I just put a new video of George on my FB that I took this afternoon. I can't see how I can put a link to it on here...
