Ann, your Christmas will be spent in the bathroom with kettle boiling then is it? Try and have fun.

LOL about the teatowel on head, I used to do that with DD. Works on kittens too, you know when they're flying around the room attacking everyone? Kurt's too into peepo now to try it, just gets him alll excited.

Have had great day so far, Kurt slept 9-5, DH stayed home with him while the cleaner came and I took the big two for a yomp around Lyndhurst in the New Forest to see the wild ponies. My mum's birthday tea is in the fridge ready to eat but DH unplugged the breadmachine to make tea so the fresh loaf I had planned is decidedly dipped.

pertelote · 24/12/2008 14:34

Just dashing in to say Happy Christmas!

Ann, hope little Seb is soon better and you are able to have a good day tomorrow.

And hope Santa brings us all a good night's sleep, fabulous gifts from our oh-so-appreciative loved ones, and health and happiness in 2009. Enjoy!

MerrySibhmas · 24/12/2008 14:36

Ann he catches more love than bugs from you-don't feel bad about it at all.
The news report on the radio here is ending with updates on Santy's whereabouts much to the delight of all here.

DD1 has been sent to bed though after a range of tricks this morning, one of which involved putting her hands over her ears in the car and shouting at me that I was talking bunkum. I stopped and suggested the ditch might be a nice place to sit and all of a sudden her behaviour improved [bad mum emoticon].

I'm sure there'll be more chatting over Christmas but can I take the liberty of declaring you all fecking friendship geniuses. Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones.

MerrySibhmas · 24/12/2008 14:37

That would be fecking friendship* geniuses.

Maybe the bold was blocked by pedants' corner insisting on genii

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 24/12/2008 15:13

Here here. (or is it hear hear?)
Better clock back on to real life now.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 24/12/2008 15:17

sibh lol. hehe. (the pedants are right though)

We are going to have a family steaming this avo - Me MIL Seb and his 3 yo auntie are going to boil two kettles in his bedroom and steam our coughs. Is it safe to use a little eucalyptus oil in a burner as well? I know Eucalyptus can help, but is it safe for babies?

SevenRottersPottering · 24/12/2008 16:01

Happy Christmas Eve everyone, and hope you all have a fantabulous Christmas

Am a bit tipsy here, unexpected wine drinking with my best friend so am feeling extra festive now. DH preparing kindling for the fire, just got to ice the chocolate log and stuff mascarpone cheese under the chicken's skin then bring it on

Glad to hear you sounding so chipper Ann, I hope your mass steaming has good results

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 24/12/2008 17:43

Hellooo All

Merry Christmas to you all.

Well for my birthday I got..... DD's third lot of jabs and my period It could at least have waited until the new year! On a serious note DH arranged for me to go to the local day spa for a facial, manicure, haircut and general pamper, he took DD to deliver Christmas pressies to staff. He also bought me some antique kitchen jars I have been drooling over for the last few months! Dinner tonight cooked by the lovely man at the chinese takeaway.

Ann - Hope Seb and you are feeling better especially as he needs to be well enough to open his own pressies in the morning!

I hope everyone gets lots of sleep for Christmas and Enjoy your little ones first Christmas.

Will most likely be on a some point tomorrow [saddo] when seeking solace from the in laws and their BF issues.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 24/12/2008 18:16

Ahhh oops - good luck with the inlaws and Happy Birthday!!!
Thankfully my inlaws are pro-bf, although I have had the odd comment about why you shouldn't demand feed from DP's nanna She thinks if you demand feed you then have to 'change their habits' again.
Tomorrow could turn out to be a bit of a penance as we will be going up to London, and unfortunately Christmas day will include DP's weird annoying Aunt, her total w**er of a 'D'P and their two horrible children MIL and DP's sibs are lovely though.
A very happy Christmas to you all (in case I don't get on again before then) I'm not likely to be on tomorrow due to being stuck in Nanna-land. i don't think the internet exists there.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 24/12/2008 18:50

Ho HO HO Ho
Merry Christmas

last minute grocery shopping IS NOT a good idea.

Roast Chicken with lots of sides (to hide the fact it will probably taste like crap)

I have two food back up plans.
#1. Purchased a Sirlion Tip that will be put the crock pot after Santa drops off his gifts. This is my specialty so I'm CERTAIN it will be edible.
#2. If all else fails (BURNS) the Chinese buffet will be open all Christmas Day.

Why oh Why do we go to all this trouble???

Extra little trinkets were also purchased for stockings. Apples, walnuts and PEZ. I even thought of my precious little fur balls...all four kittys will be getting a tin of tuna. YUM!

Here's a little something for you ladies.
{{{{twilight passes around chocolate covered cherries and strawberries}}}}}
Just don't know how I would have made it through the last twelve months without all of you.

Wishing all a Silent Night and a Merry Christmas Morn.

NoroomattheCaveman · 24/12/2008 19:30

happy christmas eve to all my mn buddies . Thank you to you all for a wonderful year of insanity, laughs, tears and general niceness to each other, and for always listening, and always being there, and not telling me to shut up when ranting or talking drivel . Now, pass that port....

Ann so scary to read about Seb but so glad he is home with you. Praying you are all much better soon.

We went in to Nottingham today and it was surprisingly empty - bonus! I got a new mobile as my upgrade was due today - extra bonus . Then this afty we went to the little peoples service at church then round to friends for coffee after. Ds2 now zedding in bed...shhhhh, he hasn't stirred yet since I put him down - will this be a first in the Cavey household??!!

Ds1 currently bouncing off the walls in excitement ahead of Santa's visit tonight

I still have a veritable mountain of presents to wrap for mum, dad, sis and dneice!

NoroomattheCaveman · 24/12/2008 19:31

ruddy typical - ds2 now stirring after hearing me type that last post

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 24/12/2008 19:50

DD and DH dancing around sitting room to Boney M I am seriously worried about his idea of Carols????

NoroomattheCaveman · 24/12/2008 20:02

erm, Mary's boy child? Not exactly a carol but well improvised!

Ds1 has put some carrots out for the reindeer, and a glass of wine for mummy Santa that'll be gone by 9pm!!

NoroomattheCaveman · 24/12/2008 20:11

hellooooo?

Where are you all? You'd think it was Christmas eve or something....

NoroomattheCaveman · 24/12/2008 20:13

Stop enjoying your real lives and get on to mn!.....

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 24/12/2008 20:37

LOL, CC is doing a TS

Short one from me, i still have to make crackers for tomorrow [very behind emoticon]. Mum & Dad are here, carrots and sherry are out for Santa and mince pies are in the oven so all going well in some departments.....

Can i mirror the thanks to everyone here for the past year, the virtual foodfriendship and support has been fab . Merry Christmas to all and hope those with first babes have a magical Christmas and those with >1 DC manage to survive the chaos!

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 24/12/2008 20:39

Captain, nice that DS1 put out a glass of wine. I'm having DD1 put out a mini chocolate pudding pie with sprinkles on top.

I'm heading off to take a nap. DH is all caught up in his Christmas present THAT I TOLD HIM IS GETTING WRAPPED. It's a bread maker. Does anyone else have DH or DP that has some wild desire to be a star on the FOOD NETWORK?

Will be back later to see what wonderful Santa activity is about.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 24/12/2008 20:41

Ha, Ha, here's a cracker joke for you:

Q: What is the hypochondriac's favourite drink?

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 24/12/2008 20:46

helloooo

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 24/12/2008 20:57

Gah, I NEED to know what a hypochondriac's favourite drink is now please.

Me and DS1 accidentally made up a joke the other day:
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Fingis.
Fingis who?
Fingis and fumbs.
We laughed our arses off but I suspect, like tiedye, the beauty is in the eye of the creator.

We went for a lovely walk around the block this evening looking for a crib service that didn't exist - think I must have just imagined it because it would have been nice. Does anyone else confuse reality with such mundane fantasies?

Am parched, too much wine already.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 24/12/2008 21:46

Sorry, just had to call the out of hours doc for DD1, waitiing for a call back

Answer is: Sham Pain

oh dear - just had a lovely cuddle with DP in the bathroom. Were getting into the swing of things and I burst out laughing because my bum was being burned by the radiator

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 24/12/2008 22:43

Sazzles What's up with DD1? Is she okay? Are you okay? Keep us up in the loop.
