It's ok myjob - it's not really such a hardship to have to spend a morning on MN! I took him still asleep to the kitchen to get a drink, and he woke happily there. Now had lunch, and just trying to feed ds' hiccups away.

Marthasmama · 21/01/2009 12:46

She's gone back to sleep now and I've still not eaten. My bum has gone to sleep!

Ekka · 21/01/2009 12:47

CSWS well I reckon Matthew is trying to outdo Duncan - he has napped on and off this morning, but he does have another cold and is on ABs for his skin....

We had a panic this morning - I was feeding Matthew & felt a hard little lump on the back of his head. Of course I thought the worst and we rushed to the docs (second time in 2 days!). He reckons its just a gland that is up because of M's infection, but will keep an eye on it. Talk about relief.... After that I had to take Emily & Matthew to the toddler group as I didn't feel I had the stamina to be entertaining all morning.

I dont know about the back of the head but Poppy has a lymph node behind her ear which I've felt for about 2 months now, the doc said it was nothing to worry about and it would go down in a few months?

Marthasmama · 21/01/2009 15:17

Martha is asleep again. I think she's been reading over me shoulder and has decided to prove me wrong! Myjob, they do indeed! My DS has a really lumpy neck which has been the same since he was little. Of course I paniced the first time I noticed but we have been to the doctors (different one each time) a few times about it and they said not to worry. He's 5.5 now so seeing as he's been lumpy for 5 years, I think that if it was something to worry about there would have been other signs by now. God I sound like such a slacker mum!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/01/2009 15:27

lol at the sleep mm.
Ds had a 10 min power nap when I took him out for a little walk in his pushchair. Just like with the car he woke once he was no longer moving. Shame, as I was hoping he'd have 40 mins to tide him over til bedtime. Expect he'll manage another 10 mins when we pick dd up shortly. He seemed quite happy in the pushchair though, which is good, as he's only been in it twice, both unsuccessfully, before.

Loulou - I can relate to the cold thing. Both me and ds are streaming today. We?re feeling rotten.

CSWS ? I?ve avoided implementing any kind of routine with ds but we?ve fallen into a kind of rhythm of two naps a day, most days. He usually feeds to sleep then I transfer him into the Amby and he?ll sleep for anything from 10 minutes on a bad day to an hour or more. He'd definitely sleep longer on me.

DP gets home around 6.30 and he plays with ds then gives him a bath while I get on with the dinner. We didn?t really have a night time routine and he just used to hang out with us until he dropped off. But we recently I?ve been taking him into the bedroom for a feed with the lights down low, then popping him in the Amby when he?s dropping off to sleep and bouncing him until he?s gone off properly. In the last few days we?ve managed to get him to go to sleep around 8 o?clock and we?ve had a couple of hours to ourselves to drink wine catch up with each other. Ds tends to sleep for the first 3 hours and then its anybody?s guess what will happen after that, so we?re just taking it one day at a time.

Can I just ask ? how much time do you spend interacting with your LOs? I mean actually chatting, playing, singing etc rather than leaving them on their playmat/bouncy chair etc to amuse themselves.

Honeymoonmummy · 21/01/2009 17:15

Mine WILL NOT amuse herself. We have 2 bouncy chairs and a rubber ring thing and she cries after 2 mins on her own. However, if I sit her up in the crook of the settee and put Baby TV on she'll stay quiet for 20 mins. Bad mother.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/01/2009 17:21

OMG - I won the TV/DVD thingy here!

Will reply later re interaction - screeching from ds (in Amby!).

Nice one CSWS!

Honeymoonmummy · 21/01/2009 17:41

Woo hoo! Well done CSWS!

aubergenie · 21/01/2009 17:48

Yihaa! Congratulations CSWS!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/01/2009 18:00

Right, interaction. Varies from day to day, but prob about 80-90% of time when he's not sleeping or feeding is spent interacting in some way, shape or form. If he was happier for it to be less then he'd prob get neglected a bit more! I always talk to him when we're pottering about, just telling him what I'm doing and stuff. He likes to spend a lot of time standing on my lap and just being smiled at and talked to too, and when we have dinner he sits in the bumbo in front of me on the table (slapped wrists for me I know!)

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 21/01/2009 18:13

Oh, can't believe I forgot to say earlier, but ds rolled this morning, once when I wasn't looking and then again after I rolled him back. He was on the sofa, and I'm willing to concede that it has the minutest gradient sloping towards the back (thankfully that way round or he'd have rolled off!), but I was still impressed, especially considering how little time he's had on his back to practice!

OP posts:
pepperrabbit · 21/01/2009 18:20

DD amuses herself quite happily for a while - we have an arch that goes over her chair and as long as I change the "dangly" things frequently she seems quite happy if she's in the same room as me.
Def teething too, pink cheeks, horrid nappies, hands stuffed in mouth all the time...
Domestic crisis here - I've got a bit behind with the washing - just doing emergency loads for a couple of days - and they're mainly pink - then DH pointed out that he had to go to work in hiking socks this morning
Oops - have done 5 loads so far today - dread to think of electricity bill !

pepperrabbit · 21/01/2009 18:21

at rolling CSWS!

Marthasmama · 21/01/2009 19:26

I reckon that I spend most of the time talking to Martha, but she seems to get annoyed when I try to play with her! She doesn't like me playing with her playmat things with her, but does like the bouncing on mummy's fat belly type games! She keeps trying to roll but just looks like she is doing an exercise video. She has been very grumpy today and has been gnawing everything in sight. She grabbed a big plastic ring thing (one that hooks on to her playmat) from me and shoved it in her mouth. So I think I'm going to have to get some teething something too, at least that will be clean !

Honeymoonmummy · 21/01/2009 19:57

God I'm dreading rolling!

4andnotout · 21/01/2009 20:49

Tilly-Grace is now teething properly too, she has little red cheeks, stinkier than usual nappies and will suck her fist like it is going out of fashion She will be 13 weeks tommorow and i have my postnatal check on friday oh well better late than never
