myjob Glad you feel better ok about not getting naomi weighed, sometimes there is so much stress that actually you know yourself if she is doing ok. Sorry you are feeling poorly though. And yes should start a hearing things club! Bloody pain though as I have a hearing loss yet I hear noises that are not even there!!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2009 21:33

Yes jenwa - is good and light, although doesn't hold as much shopping as my other one!
Am loving the colour of that one.

at getting a new push chair. I made DH get me a Stokke so now have to prove that it was worth the money by using it until it falls apart. I want a pink push chair, but as we decided against finding out, we got green.

Marthasmama · 16/01/2009 21:36

Sorry, bit jibberish there, I have a cold so my brains bunged up! I meant we got green as we didn't find out in advance if we were having a boy or a girl. I know you could have worked out what I meant but didn't want to sound like a mad old bat!

heather1980 · 16/01/2009 21:37

thanks star, yes it was us that had a tumble. he was trying for ages to roll over last night but didn't manage it, bless him i think his huge cloth bum was working against him!
he went for his 2nd jabs on thursday, the first one was ok, his face fell but no real reaction but when the second one went in he screamed and did a huge poo! he seemed ok until the evening when he was really restless and hot so i gave him some calpol which he promptly threw up all over the landing carpet, i left it half an hour and gave him a second dose which he then spat out. i don't think he likes calpol!
i have a maclaren techno xlr jenwa, and i love it it's dds and is chocolate and pink, i have put ds in it a few times (he's mainly in the sling) but i've not decided if i want to replace it. boy and pink pram... what do you think?!

jenwa · 16/01/2009 21:41

marthasmama yeh I knew what you meant pushchairs are so bloody expensive!

csws yeh colour fab, its so funky although prob hard to get matching cosy toes! Understand what you mean about basket though, had a buggy when DD1 was younger and the baasket was the same. My red one has a bigger basket which is great so will alternate between them depending on how much I need to buy in town
MIL got DD2 £50 mothercare voucher so will put it towards that shame you cant use them online though! Will have to order in store. You can pay with vouchers online in next though! Thought it was the way forward now but mothercare obviously behind!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2009 21:43

If it bothers you heather then could you sling a blanket or snuggle over it so that no/very little pink shows through?

Mm - you're a mad old bat .

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2009 21:46

You might have to buy this for dd1 though jenwa .

OP posts:
jenwa · 16/01/2009 21:47

heather yeh I see what you mean, Its so expensive to change due to colour but then I am buying a new one second time round and going this colour as love it with dd1 we got big pram before she was born (like marthasmama )so got a neutral colour and now I want to go pink pink pink!!!
poor you though with DS and the calpol! next time try adding the calpol to his bottle as may not taste it although hopefully he will not bring the whole bottle up !

heather1980 · 16/01/2009 21:48

this is the one we have, the pink on the inside (on the seat part) is a reversible seat liner and is brown on the otherside, but it is very obv a girly pram.
i'm not bothered atm but we'll see in a couple of years when he's bigger!

jenwa · 16/01/2009 21:49

csws NOoooooo!!! Dont encourage me!!!! Thats fab! She would LOVE it and thats a really good price. Are you super link or something with all your fab links????!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2009 21:50

Have you seen this jenwa?

OP posts:
heather1980 · 16/01/2009 21:51

i wish he would take a bottle!
we're off to centre parks in feb with the ILs and mil keeps going on about giving him a bottle. "he needs to learn to take one" is her fav saying atm, why ffs? she is driving me mad!

jenwa · 16/01/2009 21:51

heather thats not too bad, you can reverse the pink so actually its better for you. I would def keep hold of it as they are too expensive to change, you may want something else later like you say.

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2009 21:53

Yes, looking at the pink with the brown seat showing it looks fine heather, so I'd def keep it and use it, unless you are looking for an excuse to change anyway .

OP posts:
jenwa · 16/01/2009 21:54

heather doh, sorry I forget he was BF!!! Just me forgetting as DD formula fed, ok well you cant do that then!
I only wanted DD to take a bottle incase of an emergency as I am scared of the worst case scenario etc, do what you want, She prob only wants you too so that she can feed him. MIL are scary!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/01/2009 21:54

Oh sorry jenwa - just realised that the ebay one has sold.

OP posts:
jenwa · 16/01/2009 21:54

csws its ended but to be honest I have a £50 Mothercare coucher so wont have to spend the full value

heather1980 · 16/01/2009 21:57

i wish i could change, i have 2 prams already. i have a graco travel system as well, dh would kill me if i suggested a 3rd pram!
who says that pink is a girls colour?!?

jenwa · 16/01/2009 22:03

Obv that was meant to say 'Voucher' not coucher!!!!

jenwa · 16/01/2009 22:04

I love pink and TBH boys do too

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2009 08:27

An 8 hour stretch from ds last night .

OP posts:
star6 · 17/01/2009 10:17

Thanks for all of your comments, made me feel a lot better I love MN.
Congrats on the 8 hours csws! Amazing!

Well, last night we had a big breakthrough... rocked ds to sleep in rocking chair - he was fussing and awake and not settling but kept rockign and he fell asleep after about 15 minutes at 7.45. Then he stirred at around 10.15 and I took him out for a dream feed... he fed well, then I put himback in the cot after falling asleep on my chest for 10 min. he stirred and fussed again at 12.30... instead of picking him right up and feedign him like i normally do, I let him fuss a bit and kept patting his back and saying shhh and talking gently to him.... half hour later, he was still stirring but not fussing as much.. i put the binkie ("dummy") in his mouth and he sucked a few sucks then fell asleep! He stirred again at 2, I put binkie in his mouth, suck suck suck, pat pat pat his back (only 5 min this time, no fussing) and BACK TO SLEEP! I couldn't believe it. Stirred again at 4.45am... same thing - put binkie in and suck and sleep (by the way, spit binkie out after a fwe sucks).
I had to go express because I was swimming in milk with rock hard breasts at this point. I expressed 5 oz from one side . DH picked him up at 5.15 and brought him to me on sofa where I was expressing for a feed (he prob could have lasted longer if it werent for dh!). I fed him and then he slept from 5.30-7.45am. Woke and fed. played. Just fed at 9.45 and he's back to sleep for his morning nap.

I feel VERY proud of myself. Not a "true" all night stretch... but even though I had to get up to re settle him... I didn't have to get up to pick him up or to FEED him (which is so much more exhausting as you all know). First time ever. I am so happy.
Do you think i'm now stuck for several months getting up to pat his back and pop binkie in his mouth or will he just learn to go back to sleep on his own ?

star6 · 17/01/2009 10:19

btw, great links csws - you're like a oct 08 postnatal's personal shopper - you should starting charging a fee

jenwa · 17/01/2009 10:24

star I think eventually he will go back to sleep but I was awake afew times in night with DD2 doing same thing, well not talking to her actaully just putting dummy back in and going back to bed about 4 times. Am shattered this am but hopefully they get used to getting themself back to sleep

Glad you feeling better today. Its so much better to trial things on a weekend when you dont have to get up for work
