Hi all,

Have been very busy here, DD has had another settling in session at school and I've been busy getting uniform stuff etc. It's scary that my little girl is off to school soon, she looks so tiny compared to the others and her fourth birthday isn't until August so she's still a baby really! William has a few new words, his current favourite is 'mine', so I am watching battle commence between him and DD now...

Loopy - William has fallen out of our bed twice, the second time he didn't even wake up!

Febes - Rueben is feeding well then !

School holidays start in a week - hooray! Am so looking forward to the break.

RGPargy · 16/07/2009 21:21

lol @ William not even waking up jet!! Poor lamb!!!

No news here really. Ellie is a darling and i absolutely adore being with her - she just cracks me up so much with her little ways and the way she keeps herself busy when she's on a mission to do things, like putting the cat food sachets into her bag one at a time haha!

Much love to you all!

Oh the joys of sewing name tags on! I remember that from DS many many years ago!!

Dont you just love their little ways? Love the new wrap! What gorgeous colours in there!

No swine flu here, thankfully!!

Anyone else's DCs really REALLY fussy with their food?? DD has a choice of about 5 foods that she will eat for dinner. Everything else wont even get touched and she more often than not refuses to try anything that's new! Very infuriating!

What do you mean by being a food meanie?

Febes · 18/07/2009 20:39

Hi for all those babywearers I have just uploaded a photo of DH with both babies in our Kari me sling. We went to Leeds Castle today and couldn't take the buggy through the castle so we put anabel on the back and then slipped rueben in the front. A is big enough to walk but was tired and grumpy so much easier in the sling.

Great photo Febes! Leeds Castle is about 15 mins drive from me! Shame i didn't know you were going - we could have met for a quick cuppa!

Loopy - sounds like a very good plan! We had a bit of success with DD tonight. We all ate together (we are guilty of hardly eating together lately ) and DD ate ALL her mash, plus asked for more. When i gave her some of my mash she then said "no!" but ate it after a while anyway. She ate one pea but refused to touch the sausage or her carrots. I was quite happy to give her a banana after that (she asked for it AND said (and signed) "please" and a little yoghurt too. We are going to make sure we eat at 5(ish) from now on and just persevere with giving her what we are having. I will try your method in conjunction with that too Loopy. I'm sure it'll work a treat!

Febes · 19/07/2009 08:44

RG We got tickets valid for a year so will be back as we didn't make it to the maze so will let you know for next time. I have been but years ago so it was nice to visit again.
Well done on the eating front. I have been blessed with a child who likes eating and usually finishes her meal and then eats what ever we are eating if she is up. She has got much better at feeding herself just recently. She prefers lasagne or chicken casserole and rice type stuff where everything is mixed together and she gets loads of vege in that way. If I give her meat and vege she eats what she wants and leaves the vege usually although she loves broccoli . I find she will eat vege if it has cheese sauce or a dab of butter. Luckily she is tall and lean.

Hi all, just back from a week in Suffolk cycling and camping - lovely! Adam loved being in the trailer behind his Dad's bike (phew) and the weather stayed nice so all was good. Nice to be home though.

Was thinking about the cot to bed thing tonight but think will wait a bit longer yet. RG - Adam is fairly fussy (so much for BLW heh?!) he is on a pasta, sausage, scrambled egg rotation at the mo although I obviously try offering him other things but those are the things that he will reliably eat for his main meal. Luckily he does eat lots of fruit which makes me feel a bit better. He will taste anything you put in front of him but then spits it out with lots of drama and "yuk!". He had his first proper icecream cone on hols and he was extremely happy and most upset when it finally melted and collapsed. Think eating together is half the battle if you can manage it, my DH does prefer to eat after he has gone to bed when we can be more relaxed.

Another week off work now. Adam very very clingy at the mo. Have completely knocked day time feeds on the head so now he likes to hook his hands under my armpits (?!) and cuddle up and he seems to accept this as a substitute which is fine and dandy so long as you don't need the loo/a cup of tea/to do anything!! But he is gorgeous and very chatty (most of it nonsense) and very happy so can't complain.

Loopy - did you get the car situation sorted? Nightmare. Yes Adam is delovely and delightful at the mo so long as he is able hang on to my armpits! Like having a baby monkey clinging on for dear life.

Greedygirl · 21/07/2009 20:10

P.S. I should have been a baby wearer - he would have been the perfect candidate.

RGPargy · 21/07/2009 20:21

Febes - sounds like a plan! I forgot the tickets were valid for a year.

Greedy - glad i am not the only one who's DC eats only a few things lol. I have to admit to LOLing at Adam's armpit antics! Bless him, how utterly sweet. AS for babywearing, it's never too late to wear your baby/toddler!! ;)

For the past couple of nights we have all sat down and eaten together. DD has liked the last two meals but tonight's meal was a no-go. It was pasta (which she normally loves) but it had a different sauce on it rather than her normal Heinz tomato sauce but she munched her way through a couple of bits of garlic bread, a banana and a yoghurt, plus she drank most of her bedtime milk so i'm not too fussed.

Loopy - there is always hope - you might remember that one of my friends had a baby before Christmas and the docs were going to switch off the life support machine, well the baby is now 7 1/2 months old, goes to nursery with my 2, is thriving and utterly gorgeous. Hopefully if the docs are positive are positive about your sister's friend's baby, then things will progress in the right direction. Sending love and prayers.
Great news about your friend's VBAC.

Greedy - Adam sounds so cute. William is a monkey in all ways except clinging onto me - he is constantly up to mischief.

febes - my DD's favourite veg has always been broccoli, she's a funny one

RGPargy · 22/07/2009 20:45

Loopy - Sorry to hear about your sister's friend's baby. Sending good luck vibes and love her way x

Great news re your friend's VBAC

As for broccoli, DD has never ever liked it, even when i gave it to her for the very first time. Funny isn't it!

He was more upset than me and I ended up comforting him! He was only messing around, it wasn't in temper. Think he is getting his last teeth as he is very chewy at the mo.

I love getting my hair done, I am a bit rubbish at getting it done regularly and end up with a haystack then feel all sleek and lovely afterwards. Our LOs are at a lovely comical age aren't they?

jetgirl · 26/07/2009 20:49

Greedy - hurts doesn't it? William is quite a biter - mainly of me, he comes to me in the kitchen and bites my leg while I'm washing up! It's not malicious, just attention seeking. Thankfully, touch wood, he's never bitten another child!

Loopy - I'm getting my hair done on Thursday as we're going to a wedding on Saturday, I can't wait as it's been a few months and my hair needs sorting out.

Loving the 'not having to go to work tomorrow' feeling I'm currently having - hooray for the school holidays!
