greedygirl Hi defo count sleep ins I get so many less and when I do get one I have to fight for it so am always awake anyway grrrr DH managed to sleep until 9.30 on sun and 12noon the sunday before not that I'm keeping a record or anything

Greedygirl · 05/05/2009 21:08

I actually gasped when I read that Febes!! 12 noon! 10.30 is the latest I have tolerated up to now (although I would happily let him have longer if I thought ahead and brought my clothes etc downstairs to get dressed and go out) and then I say "shall we go and see Daddy?".

Febes · 05/05/2009 21:16

He did work until 2 am the night before but he stayed up for over an hour after he got home. I moaned quite alot after him got up that while I appreciate that he works alot and sometimes horrible hours, I was 38 weeks PG, working 35 hours a week doing all the housework, cooking and childcare.

I used to want a lie in at least once over the weekend but now i dont bother because DP takes aaaaaages to wake up, despite me prodding and poking him, DD crying through the monitor and me saying "She's AWAKE!". Even when he has got up before to give me a lie in, i just lay there anyway because i can hear them downstairs! It's easier for me to just get up and catch up on the telly i've missed or am not allowed to watch (LOL!) while he's asleep.

We did have a loooovely lay in over BH weekend tho. MIL took DD for the night for us on Saturday and so we decided to just go to the pub in the evening. We ended up leaving the pub at 11.30pm, absolutely knackered and both yawning (how lightweight are we these days?!!), but we did sleep in til MIDDAY, which was HEAVEN!!! I haven't slept that long for years!!!

Greedy - lol @ the "let's go and see Daddy" line. We say that too, although DP does like to be woken up at that sort of time so that he doesn't waste the day.

Febes - that is SHOCKING! I think you had every right to have the hump with him! Any news on your impending arrival yet?

Jet - we were almost in your neck of the woods over Easter. We were meant to be going clubbing near the docks but couldn't go in the end as DP and PIL all came down with a sickness bug. We have rescheduled it for this coming BH Sunday as i know the guy who puts on the club night. It's our little BH thing and something that we've done for a couple of years now. Have you heard of the club called The Unit (or whatever it's called these days!)?

Loopy - lucky you for DH wanting to go for number 4! DP and I had yet another baby chat last night and he said that at the moment it's a definite no-no and it's unlikely to change either. He said that by the time DD is 2.5/3 and we had another one, by the time that one was the same age - and i quote - "you'll be in your 50s and wont want to go out." Cheek of it!! As if my age has ever stopped me going out and doing what i want anyway?? I suppose i'll just have to use my slings on my teddies instead lol.

DD is now sort of getting used to the creche at the gym. She had a bit of a cry yesterday before we'd even walked through the doors because she knew what was coming. Then did the drama queen crying as they took her from me and when i picked her up she did the obligatory fake crying. I'm sure it's all part of her plan to try and make me not leave her there but it's not going to work!! I've lost 3 inches in 3 weeks so i'm not going to stop now!

RGPargy · 07/05/2009 13:06

Sorry for the long post (and i wont be in my 50s, btw, but about 46-48).

Febes · 07/05/2009 20:26

Tell DP thats why you need to have another baby now, the quicker you have the quicker you can resume the clubbing .

Still no baby!!! I'm due tomorrow so its looks like it will go over again. I was 7days late with Anabel so not expecting anything this weekend. There's already been 14 babies on the May thread so I'm of all the baby sniffing they are all doing.

Anabel is teething. Trying to get out her molars. Coinciding with my maternity leave. So last week when I was working I had to wake her up and on the weekend she woke at 8ish and all this week she has been awake at 6!! I have also started using her washable nappies again and she has been doing those really rank teething poos. Why oh why???

LittleMissBliss · 07/05/2009 23:22

Hi all just book marking will catch up in the morning.

RGPargy · 08/05/2009 10:54

Isn't that just typical Febes! You dont have to get up but they decide to punish you for waking them up by getting up early! Sounds exactly like DD when i'm really tired actually haha! DD is also teething with her molars too. At the moment it's not too bad (touch wood) but there have been nights when she's been so upset and has had to come into our bed. it's the only way i'd get some sleep otherwise i'd be standing over her cot for hours while she tossed and turned and wanted to get out! Hope baby turns up this weekend. I remember the anticipation!

Somehow i dont think DP will go for the excuse about getting our lives back sooner. it's not even that we go clubbing much because we hardly do any more. I just think he likes his (uninterrupted) sleep too much. Plus he's paranoid that as DD was so perfect, if we try for another one he thinks we will tempt fate and something will go wrong. Silly berk.

LittleMissBliss · 08/05/2009 21:03

DS cut his molars a few weeks back it was during the day, he cried for a solid hour in my arms and eventually fell asleep on me, poor lad. Glad that's over now!

Febes sending you labour vibes! Enjoy your last few days with just Anabel.
Talking of which is a lovely name, very into names at the moment. Do you have any set names yet?

RG How often do you go to the gym? Do you enjoy it? I used to love the gym but it was easier when i was fitter and didn't have broken sleep. Found it really hard after ds as it really tired me out.

Do you feel really strongly about having another? Or would you be content to stop now?

Talking of lay in, i get one tomorrow ds has gone to mil as dp and i are both working tomo. Can't wait!

Just waiting for dp to get back from Asda with the popcorn to settle down and watch a film.

I watched Twilight the other afternoon with-out dp as it isn't his thing and really enjoyed it. Tonight we are watching ghost town, so i'm hoping it will be funny. The thing is with Ricky Gervais, he always pretty much just plays himself in everything....

LMB - I have been going to the gym 3 times a week (mon, tues & weds). i do enjoy it but you are right about it wearing you out with broken sleep!! Dont get me wrong, DD isn't waking up all the time but as her molars are still coming through, i expect some more interrupted sleep for a few months yet. Did DS cut ALL his molars at once or just the one?? I think you might have more to come if he's only got one!

I do feel quite strongly about having another but i'm worried that it's only because my biological clock is ticking very loudly now because of my age (i'm 41.5). We said that 42 would be the cut off age for conceiving, but we could stretch to 45 if things didn't happen and we were desperate to conceive.

Febes - lovely names

Loopy - that's not gonna happen as i've got a coil fitted now Even before i got it fitted, DP might have been "tipsy" but there's no way he'd forget that!!! Hope DD3 cheers up soon, bless her.

LittleMissBliss · 08/05/2009 23:12

RG- No he's only cut one set of molars but he seems to cut teeth with very big gaps. Got his first tooth at 10 months and then nothing for ages. He now has six but the molars have been the only ones to really cause him distress. So just hoping the next few sets wont be quite as bad.

I hope your DP comes around soon to your way of thinking.

Febes great names!

Film was ok, nothing great. Off to get some shut eye, night all!

LittleMissBliss · 11/05/2009 16:36

Hope you are all well.

The weathers lovely today! We went to feed the ducks but ds just ate most of the bread!

Febes Any news?

I'm still here booked in for a sweep on wednesday not too worried yet but would like to see LO by the weekend.

RGPargy · 12/05/2009 23:10

Loopy - we've had a heart to heart about it quite recently but his opinion is that "we're just getting our lives back now" so he thinks what's the point in going back to the beginning now. My argument with him (other than my age and my biological clock ticking loudly) is that when DD is 3 or 4, surely he wouldn't want to go back to the beginning then? Surely it'd be better to do it now while we are still used to some sort of disturbance or other from DD occassionally at night?? Total crap, i know, but i was trying to put any point across that might hit him lol. Didn't work tho! He said he "might" feel differently in a few years. However i dont think i've got a few years of babymaking left in me! Oh well. There's always grandchildren i suppose......

Good luck with your sweep Febes! I remember how uncomfortable they are so i hope it's not too bad for you.

Hi just bookmarking -

Febes · 13/05/2009 20:00

I've been necking the capsules. Doing nothing.

RGPargy · 13/05/2009 20:54

Loopy - exactly. Sorry that DH has gone now. I hope it's not going to be too lonely and not too much like hard work for you! at DD3 preferring a pushchair!! Apparently it's normal for some babies to go on a babywearing strike for a little while. Hang in there.

Febes - wishing you imminent labour vibes

jetgirl · 13/05/2009 21:25

Sending you vibes Febes - a friend of ours went into labour today!

RG - how long are you in the area for? I must confess it's ages since I went out clubbing here (partly because of the risk of bumping into schoolkids!) but I have heard of the Unit.

LMB - We could do Bournemouth, it's so easy on the train for us. Would be lovely to meet your DS and you

Hello everyone else!
