Here we go. I thought the title was apt as ds2 has morhed into a stroppy little horror overnight. His favourite expression at the moment is 'I cwoss with you, I sceam at you AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH' .

Happy Birthday ToddlerJabber and ToddlerEli .

DD is poorly again. I swear every bug in the vicinity has some kind of magnetic attraction to her . She has a bit of a temp, headache and earache today. I need to buy shares in Calpol and Medised I think.

Aoa, hotel is a very good idea - go for a posh one so you can have a vvvv hot, deep bath!

And Castles - self-potty training? That could be a whole Gina Ford esque book in itself. You could make millions

Indith · 06/01/2009 20:39

Yum cake glad you are ok Lennied

I unclipped my bra to feed dd today and ds climbed on my lap and had a go Didn't get very far though, just put his mouth to it and looked expectant! After the feed I expressed a bit to relieve some engorgement and he came and pinched the tub off me and drank it then held it under my breast for more Far too cute for his own good that boy.

Olihan · 06/01/2009 22:29

Aw bless, Indith, that's too cute [soppy ].

LenniEd, hooray for the magical medicinal properties of cake!

Castles, dd did that too. Just announced one day she was wearing pants. Considering she was 22mo and had very little language she must have been pretty determined to do it. She did though, and was reliably clean and dry within a fortnight.

Ds2 seems to be nearly ready. If he's not wearing a nappy and starts to dribble wee, he'll tell me and go on the toilet/potty. But I don't know if I can be bothered to train him properly - all that extra washing.

He didn't even ask for milk at bedtime tonight . He did peer down my nightie this morning and asked for milk with a real cheeky grin so he was obviously just chancing his luck. I'm still a bit undecided but I'm mainly seeing it as a positive step.

Eli, 9 more sleeps......

Awww! sweetie!

Dd is still bfing for England! I don't mind really, but she gets distracted and has started to bite me whilst looking at me for a reaction. She then has the nerve to cry when I flick her!

Elibean · 06/01/2009 23:12

Aah, now I'm getting nostalgic (past broody!) Lovely boobs stories

Castles, have distracted dd2 from a) potties b) big girl beds several times now, can't cope with either for a month or two. Am v impressed with your dd though, she clearly just wants to get on with it! Was she an early walker, I can't remember? Someone told me the age they can potty train correlates to the age they can walk up and down stairs properly - one foot after the other - something to do with same muscles needing to be controlled

Got v stressy and snappy (talking of control ) with dd1 tonight, think its because dh was back at work after 2 weeks off, combined with a couple of other things today, and no more than 2 hours consecutive sleep for weeks on end. Just as well I've not got a toddler and a newborn, and a dp who works away or something, eh?! Anyway, I feel bad. She's back at school tomorrow, starting f/t for first time, and I wish I'd been better able to stay calm in the face of annoyingness

9 more 'sleeps' though, thats true!

MaHumbug · 06/01/2009 23:54

Indith - You could have him in the lead role for Oliver Twist with a little work. Bless him.

Very sorry guys about not really "being here" lately. Work and all that stuff. [pants emoticon]

LenniEd · 07/01/2009 10:36

How cute Indith

Think I might actually finally be on the way to labour. Had contractions since 11pm, slept on and off but getting stronger now. Finally conceded defeat and sent DH with DD to PIL just now. Am hoping the TENS machine I rented yesterday in a last minute panic arrives before get to point of needing to go in - had to pay £8.50 for Special delivery Talk about cursing yourself!

Suddenly overcome with nesting instinct - as DH has pointed out though, a little too late in the day really so he's promised to blitz the place for me when he's dropped DD off! Let's hope this isn't yet another false alarm! Oh well, at least I might have a clean house for it!

Indith · 07/01/2009 10:43

Hope it is the real thing Lennied! Good luck

Elibean · 07/01/2009 11:36

Yippee!! GOod luck, LenniEd

Olihan · 07/01/2009 11:50

Go for it LenniEd!

castlesintheair · 07/01/2009 12:32

Good luck Lennied, there's no getting away from it you know!

Sorry Eli it's tough for you right now but don't be hard on yourself. I screech at mine like an old fishwife at the best of times, and I have no excuse

Re: self-potty training - yes, DD2 was an early walker (properly by 10 months) so maybe that has something to do with it She is and always has been an extremely opinionated child

Hello Margo hope all's well.

LenniEd · 07/01/2009 12:48

We're going in soon - contractions 3.5 mins apart now and lasting about 50 seconds. Getting to point where can't manage the pain very easily. Sent DH out to look for postie and hence TENS machine before we go! Surely this must be it - it bloody hurts. I'm all excited!

castlesintheair · 07/01/2009 13:08

Get thee to hospital Lennied and stop chatting on MN Good luck and keep us posted.

And another thing: DD2 has decided this week is a good week to drop her afternoon sleep. Hurumph, just when DD1 has started full-time at school too .

AnneOfAvonlea · 07/01/2009 13:37

Good luck Lennied

Elibean · 07/01/2009 13:38

LenniEd, you'd better not be here reading this by now

Aaah, so exciting! Am giving birth vicariously

Castles, commiserations on the nap - dd2 decided no nap, no sleeping bag, no high chair, just at the start of the xmas holidays. clearly walking late and being incapable of climbing stairs has NO influence on opinionated-ness

Margo, are you ok? As in, good being busy with work, or not?

Elibean · 07/01/2009 13:40

And thanks, Castles, re dd1: have realized today that she was probably aiding the separation process pre starting f/t, and being pissed off with her little sister for staying home with me when she knew she wouldn't be. All unconscious, of course, and I am too bushed to have spotted the obvious

Can't wait to pick her up today, its lovely having the space but....

SachaF · 07/01/2009 16:08

Ooh, exciting LenniEd, fingers crossed this is it.

Am impressed so many of you are bf'ing toddlers. I made ds give up at 13months as I couldn't have wheat whilst bf'ing - and found out I was pg and needed to EAT. With this one I am sad to say I don't think I will last much past 7 months - she has bruised me so much! I put my finger in her mouth today to suck as didn't have a dummy to hand and, well, she is just ferocious! I left her to cry and went and got a dummy!

I know what you mean Eli about having the space but..... Today is J's nursery day, I love picking him up and seeing him again - reminds me, must print out Xmas thankyou letters for him to colour in.

Castles, hope dd2 decides this nap dropping thing is just a glitch and she's better off with them - fingers crossed. DS yesterday took an hour of putting back to bed (and then the travel cot as I was fed up) until he eventually went to sleep. He was grinning the whole time!

LenniEd · 07/01/2009 16:31

Hi all, just a quick one. In labour!! Back home for now... just as got to hosp the shoulder dystocia alarms went off in unit and lots of screaming and running about and my labour just completely ground to a halt. Cried a lot. They did exam anyway and was 2-3cm despite all the trauma so things definitely happening but decided to come home to get the adrenaline out of my system and some lovely hormones going again. Cx now very painful again so think will go back in soon once had a snack. Feel a lot calmer again. And DH managed to find postie and got TENS on the go.

Had 3 cx in time taken to type that and am having to moan a lot now so hopefully next time I'm on will have a baby!

MaHumbug · 07/01/2009 17:21

Ooh good luck Lennied!

How exciting!

MaHumbug · 07/01/2009 17:23

Oh Eli - bad re. work

castlesintheair · 07/01/2009 17:33

I can't believe you Lennied. Get yourself back to hospital and off MN !!

Sorry Margo

andaSOLOnewyear · 07/01/2009 19:01

Ooooh! exciting...

babypowder · 07/01/2009 19:57

Ooh - so very exciting! Good luck, LenniEd!

( Margo - any light on the horizon?)

AnneOfAvonlea · 07/01/2009 20:29

Eli - How did DD get on at school? I bet she is tired.

Lennied - more good luck vibes to you.

Elibean · 07/01/2009 21:01

OMG, LenniEd, I should have told you to take a laptop with you for ongoing reports....tis so very exciting!

Good luck, good luck, am thinking of you...

Margo, sorry to hear that. I suspected as much, but hoped not...any chance the New Year will bring better things?

AofA, dd very tired - strangely quiet and alternately cheeky and adorable. Her verdict on all day school and lunches, though: 'brilliant'. So we'll cope

dd2 now gasping so off to nose drop her for the first of several times tonight, ugh. Tomorrow is pre-op apt, must make list of questions because LenniEd was right, I have loads
