Here we go. I thought the title was apt as ds2 has morhed into a stroppy little horror overnight. His favourite expression at the moment is 'I cwoss with you, I sceam at you AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH' .

Happy Birthday ToddlerJabber and ToddlerEli .

DD is poorly again. I swear every bug in the vicinity has some kind of magnetic attraction to her . She has a bit of a temp, headache and earache today. I need to buy shares in Calpol and Medised I think.

Aoa, hotel is a very good idea - go for a posh one so you can have a vvvv hot, deep bath!

Oooh we stayed at Thornbury Castle just before DS was born, 7 years ago! Remember being very hot in the night from roaring log fire

Blimey, we don't have pre-schools round here until the year before school. DD2 could really do with it too. I have to cart her to a playgroup or gym every day ... probably doesn't help my state of mind much

Thank you for saying it is seasonal Oli. Xmas was really hard. Really don't want to go back on ADs as coming off them was a nightmare plus I have put on so much weight ... 3 stone more than I was pre-DCs . Was looking at bacp website to find a shrink but the website just went awol. Am on the case though.

andaSOLOnewyear · 04/01/2009 23:12

Pert breasts there Olihan! Very nice

I'm thinking about trying to potty train Dd...I'm nearly out of nappies and have bugger all money...I trained Ds on his second birthday in 4 days. Within two weeks, he was toilet trained. He was a Summer baby though which made it easier and I think he was ready...not sure Dd is yet...but I'm skint. WWYD?

babypowder · 05/01/2009 08:48

Oli, remain and at your cake-baking skills (I bought the book you recommended, and will try to emulate you at some point!)

Solo, it's worth a shot! At very, very worst it might put back potty training by a few weeks, but realistically it probably means nothing more than some soiled clothes and extra washing. That said, my DD is nowhere near potty training yet, so I may be some way behind you.

Castles, sorry you're dealing with depression. An alternative practitioner may be able to help? Be kind to yourself.

LenniEd · 05/01/2009 09:45

Oli - I am absolutely in awe... and still pregnant Cake modelled on your good self of course.

Castles, glad you on the case. Can understand not wanting the ADs - but wouldn't rule it out. Sounds strange, but what about taking up some kind of sport/exercise? I find walking (with DD) lifts my mood and wears her out, and is less stressful than some of the playgroups (although have a few I love). It gives us a chance to 'chat' too, and she doesn't seem to strop when we're walking.

Eli - are you there? All ok?

Worth a shot Solo - we're not too far off (DD tells me before she goes etc) but potty/toilet still frightening so don't think we'll be going there for a while. Plus, small issue of a baby en route. Although don't think the baby knows he's meant to be en route, bloomin thing just keeps causing me agony for no reason.

castlesintheair · 05/01/2009 10:25

I have the potty out. DD2 sits on it quite happily but hasn't produced yet

Thanks Lennied, and commiserations Exercise is really great for me and the return of "the routine" tomorrow should help. All that walking! I would love to take some proper exercise but it is impossible as I have DD2 with me the whole time and cannot afford any childcare.

Eli, how are things? Keep checking on here to see if you are ok?

Yes Oli, I presume you modelled the bird on the Ferrari on yourself ?

Indith · 05/01/2009 10:28

What do you mean still pg lennied? Honestly get going and have a baby

Castles sorry you still have no answers

Bebe I hope ABs are kicking in.

AQ you are lovely. Hope some of it fits, most newborn is pretty tight she is in mostly 0-3 heffalump that she it Mum is coming up Sunday, do you still have her number?

Potty training?! Wow is all I can say. Ds will run around all day with a poo in his nappy and never mention it.

Eli counting the days with you.

I finish Abs today, dd on Thurs then thrush treatment all round! Sh slept so well last night though. 9 til 12.30, 45 min feed then til 4.30, short feed and off til 7! First 2 bits were done next to me instead of on me so I feel positively rested

AnneOfAvonlea · 05/01/2009 10:54

Olihan - cakes look great. I especially love the Kipper one.

Castles - sorry you are feeling low. Hopefully as the weather starts to improve, so will your mood. I found a lightbox helped me at the end of Winter last year.

Lennied - have you still not had that baby yet?

babypowder · 05/01/2009 14:15

OMG, must stop eating. I've been doing nothing but eating crap since this morning. AAAGH!

How are you, LenniEd?

Elibean · 05/01/2009 14:26

Urgh, sorry, nights from hell, no time to MN....thanks for asking, am ok, but really really tired. Not sure how we'll cope when dd1 back at school (Wednesday) and I can't have that extra hour's catch up in the morning. dd2 has cold, perky in day but bad apnoea/cough at night and gets quite distressed..can't just leave her to gasp, so am up and down giving sips of water/Medised/nose spray/cuddles. Had help arranged for today, but she showed up with sore throat and cough so...expensive way to have no help! Not her fault, obviously, but pity.

LenniEd, thinking of you and hoping all well! Castles, how frustrating - though relieved to hear nothing wrong, in a way, wish it'd been something easy to fix. Did they offer any tips, at least?!

Hurrah for sleeping dd, Indith, and hope the thrush gets no worse till tx arrives.

Glad to see am munching (4am peanut butter sarnie [blush) in good company! Will continue nightly snacks till I get to sleep instead

BP, how are you?

Elibean · 05/01/2009 14:27

Apart from hungry, that is?

LenniEd · 05/01/2009 15:36

Phew, you're here Eli. One week left. Pre-op Thurs was it or Tues?

Elibean · 05/01/2009 18:45

Thursday

And you're still here too, eh?!

LenniEd · 05/01/2009 20:03

Yep - eventful evening, not in the baby producing sense though. Will explain all later, food first. Need to catch up on everything too...

Olihan · 05/01/2009 20:35

You okay, LenniEd?

Countdown is nearly into single figures, Eli, hang in there!

OP posts:
LenniEd · 05/01/2009 21:02

Yep, fine now.

Hadn't felt any movements since I woke up so by time it got to mid afternoon was starting to panic a bit. Called MW who couldn't understand why I hadn't been seen over the weekend for monitoring (looks like a bit of a miscommunication between her and the hospital) and got told to go straight in. Baby was ok but very quiet so left on monitor for ages (got a sore arse from sitting still so long ) and given copious amounts of iced water to drink. After an hour a few twitchy looking people arrived and MW started discussing induction and I started to worry a bit more than was already and then bubs woke up and did a lot of dancing around making pretty patterns on the trace so they all breathed a collective sigh of relief. Left me on for another hour (hence sore arse) and did some kind of blood flow scan to check placenta. All ok. Got to go back in morning and if they get a good trace then I am free to remain pregnant for another 2.5 weeks if I choose otherwise looks like my days are numbered. (Guess they are numbered anyhow..)

Hope pre-school went well AoA and DD2 enjoyed herself and you enjoyed yourself even more importantly

Glad DD is sleeping Indith, and you sound well.

Elibean · 05/01/2009 22:10

Phew. Add that to the collective sigh of relief

andaSOLOnewyear · 05/01/2009 23:11

Well, I went and bought the value nappies from Tesco. Don't know what they're like, but at £1.47 for 20, I thought I'd give them a go...Dd did not want me to put it on her though, so they must feel very different! Indith, Dd will also keep a rotten nappy on all day if I fail to smell her. I'll play it by ear I think and go from there...

When is baby due LenniEd?

LenniEd · 06/01/2009 08:42

A week today BP Going to midwife now then monitoring, lots of movements though so sure I'll be back.

babypowder · 06/01/2009 10:44

Solo, the Lidl nappies are very good, if you can get hold of them. More like Huggies than Pampers.

So pleased you're OK LenniEd! Good luck with MW (if you're not back already!)

MaHumbug · 06/01/2009 13:33

Oh I'm glad everything is alright Lennied.

LenniEd · 06/01/2009 14:13

Thanks Margo and BP.

Back from monitoring, everything fine except my blood sugar which is very low. Yippee!! Cue cake! (Actually meant to be eating low GI foods throughout day but cake sounds like a much quicker solution )

Will be back later, DD just removed her nappy. Think she wants a new one thankfully just wet!

castlesintheair · 06/01/2009 14:38

DD2 has decided to start potty training herself. Should be interesting

Pleased you are ok Lennied. Hugs Eli: not long to go.

andaSOLOnewyear · 06/01/2009 15:42

A week! lucky you!!!

I put Dd in a Tesco nappy last night and it was a bit swimming pool like this morning. I did over sleep though, so it may have been ok if I hadn't.
I tried Aldi nappies on Dd when she was tiny and I think they were a bit big so didn't hold much in. If I could drag myself off to Makro, I'd go and buy Pampers, but I'm really not feeling great and shopping is not what I want to do...Pampers from Makro would probably work out as cheap as Aldi nappies. I have a few Pampers left, so may just use those at night and cheapies through the day...

Elibean · 06/01/2009 19:03

good nappy people. I had such good intentions of becoming a nappy addict, too. One life goal sadly blown.

LenniEd, am so glad all is well, and you get to eat cake too - the best possible outcome hope you made/are making the most of it.

Thanks, Castles, and to you....no, not long, and if we don't catch any nice new bugs at school (which starts again tomorrow) we're all set. NHS allowing

LenniEd · 06/01/2009 20:14

Have rather overdone the blood sugar related eating , however feel a lot better so to DH when he inevitably raises his eyebrow at me later.

Have you a lot of questions for Thursday Eli? Will you be able to stay with DD2 in hospital the night after the op? How long will she be in for? I am excited and apprehensive for you, excited because I'm sure it will make such a difference. Make sure you rest as much as you can this week though, you'll need your energies when you bring her home first and she's needing a bit of TLC. Just think, by the spring she'll be running around like a loon and sleeping like a baby man and all this will be behind you.
