Eah - Oooh, well done E. Harrods FC sounds fab. maybe next year?! Get you hob nobbing with the rich & (almost) famous!

We have slipper issues in this house and DJ refuses to wear them and constantly had cold toes "coldie coldie!" as he puts it. In Asda this afternoon, I picked up some cute little chocolate brown 'faux uggs' for £6. He's made no fuss at all and been wearing them for the last hour saying "cosy, cosy!" Very cute!

ladytophamhatt · 17/12/2008 18:10

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.
My secret santa is soooooooo clever!

Chocie, which is always good.
Jewelery which is great as I'm trying tio make more effort to wear fancy/girlie stuff.

and

Pink sea fishing lures.

I laughed out loud when I saw them, how ever you are I'm in awe of your memory and/or detective skills.

Not sure if I was meant to open it yet...it actually arrived on monday but I kept forgetting to come on and say, its fab anyway.

eandh · 17/12/2008 18:15

Eah off to usual inlaws over Xmas for much spoiling - can't wait. No other trips planned so am looking forward to ages off work and doing very little. Hurrah!

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 18/12/2008 08:58

Reggiee - no lemsip just paracetamol as much as you need (am taking 2 tabs every 4 hours as directed by MW)

Just a quick post as feeling shit. Am a bit worried too as have mild period pains, very mild but still not nice. Any ideas?

theSuburbanDryad · 18/12/2008 09:18

This thread is amusing me!

I have got vomiting bug and bladder infection so off to doctor's at 11:20. Joy.

Blardy winter. Full of illness.

Katw3kitts · 18/12/2008 15:13

My SS prezzie arrived this morning too. Thank you very much. When are we opening them?

Its quite irrational but I got really excited when I put it under the tree.

I dont think its fishing lures .... (or at least I really hope not )

God, you all sound a sickly lot. Keep taking the paracetamol, and I think ibuprofen is ok too... but dont take my word for it !

Wilkie, I got those pains you are talking about. My MW said its your uterus stretching again and is quite common with subsequent pregnancies. Eeeeww sounds horrible !

we went to tumbletots this afternoon. Not the usual session we go to and there were only 4 of us.

But all 4 tots had their birthday between now and the 8th of Jan. So they all got a card and a prezzie. How wierd was that ?

A bit like being on here I suppose .....

2Happy · 18/12/2008 15:52

Wotcher.

Katw3kitts · 18/12/2008 15:58

Hey ... where've you been missis ?

2Happy · 18/12/2008 16:15

Well I would love to say I've been to a place where kids sleep all night, wake up in sunny moods and never ever have tantrums; where mothers are listened to and respected; where fathers understand completely how much work being a mother is because sometimes they're actually home long enough to find out for themselves; where supper cooks itself and kids don't piss on the toilet seat. And where flipping amazon deliver in time for flipping christmas.

Still, clearly no such place exists, so shall just have to say I have been... around. Meant to post ages ago when reg sent me a nagging friendly text. And then when my SS present arrived. Hopeless.

Reggiee · 18/12/2008 18:55

Blardy hell you exist . Welcome back. Sounds like you've been having fun....

Kat I always forget your lo was born before Xmas. You do anything for his birthday?

Wilkie I keep having all sorts of stomach pains. Although I think it's constipation related in my case and relieved after a rare poo(tmi perhaps).

Feel even shitter today . Can't get warm, face and head hurts, nose is a permanent tap.
Went for scan this morning and cried . Then had to hang about for an hour before another pointless visit with a consultant. Interestingly, lo is "very big". My dates are def right, but am on/above 95 percentile. Soneone has to be I guess, but am starting to worry about diabetes. Have a glucose test at the end of next month, but all urine samples so far are fine.
Anyway, after scan came home and went to bed rather than returning to work.

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 18/12/2008 19:08

Ey up 2H. You sound full of Christmas cheer

Reg - how did scan go? Text you but you obv are ignoring me haven't got it

Reggiee · 18/12/2008 19:13

No text here yet Wilkie. Don't foget rubbish reception in our house so prob won't get it until tomorrow morning!

Am off to bed now. No doubt in time for a good kicking from Junior

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 18/12/2008 19:14

DID YOU FIND OUT SEX???????????????

Reggiee · 18/12/2008 19:17

Might have done

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 18/12/2008 19:18

Please tell me (or text me)

I had SUCH a vivid dream at about 1pm when I had a nap cos felt shit that you were having a boy - hence why I then text you!!!!!

2Happy · 18/12/2008 19:29

Wilkie, I think it may be too late for RGee to learn about the birds and the bees

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 18/12/2008 19:29

Bet that VBAC isn't looking so appealing now with a big bubba?? Ha ha

I have decided mine is coming out of my tummy button...

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 18/12/2008 19:30

Arf arf 2Happy

2Happy · 18/12/2008 19:32

Reg, you can't possibly be far enough along for them to start spouting about big for dates, scans are horribly unreliable for that even when you're nearer term. MN is full of people promised gargantuan babies who ended up sneezing out 7 or 8 lbers.
Wilkie - deffo lots of crampy period-like pains second time around. And BHs are much worse second time around too. Congrats, BTW )

laughalot · 18/12/2008 21:42

Come on rgee tell please I cannnot wait.

Reggiee · 19/12/2008 08:51

'Fraid my lips are sealed Lal and Wilkie . I may tell later on, but not just yet...

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 19/12/2008 09:33

Okkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyy

Yorky · 19/12/2008 09:57

Hello all, I haven't been on here for the last 23 months but live on the Nov 2008 (now post-natal) thread! Not sure I could keep up with 2 threads!

Bit of background - DS was born Jan 2007 and has a 1month old sister and he's been fine with her, apart from very enthusiastic cuddles which scare me, and hurt her but its hard to tell him to not hug her, just wish the moses basket was higher out of his reach!
We also moved house last week which he seems to have taken in his stride

My issue at the moment is the time he wants to get up in the morning. He is really good at bedtime and is asleep between 7 730 and mostly sleeps through, but some days he shouts for us at 5 or 530. If there's only me home he gets a hug and milk if he asks for it, then put back in his cot until I think its a reasonable time for morning to start (not before 6, preferably nearer 10!) This admittedly, means that I am back in his room every 10 or 15 mins until an acceptable time is reached. If DH is home he takes DS downstairs to watch the idiot box, and says its easier and he doesn't lose any more sleep than running between our room and DSs for an hour. Has anyone else got this problem, or any advice on how to get him to sleep longer - it is too early for him as he has now gone down for a nap so I'm dreading late afternoon.
Need to work out if its DH or DS I need to train as DH is on leave for the next fortnight.
Also as I'm having broken nights with baby is it not such a problem, I'm just not coping cos I'm tired anyway? I'm finding two hard to juggle atm.

Sorry this is so long, but thanks in advance for any suggestions
