eandh, i heard o the news yesterday that santander are cutting jobs across all the group, is yours safe?

I thought of you as soon as I heard it...

sendingyourpressietodayVino · 13/12/2008 09:40

see my nickname......

eandh · 13/12/2008 09:42

aww thanks lth - I am fine 95% of the jobs are going across the 3 head offices (abbey/b&b and Alliance & leicester) as most of the departments are duplicated, they sent a statement to branches to say they are comitted to keeping the retail network as its is (ie my job!) I have been looking at other jobs though as when Ellie starts school in September I need to be able to pick her up on Fridays and not sure they'll let me change my hours now

dragonhartssecretsanta · 13/12/2008 19:59

on it's way.....

rudolphtheROUGEnosedreindeer · 13/12/2008 20:20

E&H I thought of you too when I just saw about Santander.

Busy day in vino household. Again. We were at supermarket at 8.45am after having been woken at 5.15 by E. S was ok fri and yest but sick again today, very up and down, chesty cough and runny nose. Don't think its anything more than a cold, she has a bright red bum so thinking maybe a tooth is on its way?

Had friends over for lunch and chat this afternoon which was nice, but am preoccupied with thoughts of work and other mundane things. Wierd to think I will be at work on monday. DH has gone out at the mo and I had planned to do the ironing but am watching x factor instead! Can't be bothered to bring ironing board downstairs.

Dragon - have't started weaning S yet. She is 6 months at xmas so am going to start then. She slept well when I bf and then when swopped to ff slept through and still does, is a chunky thing teetering between top centiles so no need for anything else yet! Odd to think she will have veg etc soon.

UD - a friend is thinking of doing blw, would you be willing to chat to her by email if she has any q's?

Wilkie - how funny re poo and laminate. Good about J wanting to use his potty unprompted though. Hope he is ok and hasn't caught the twins bug.

Lizz - you feeling any better?

Tra la la la la la - some festive cheer for us all!

katsecretsanta · 13/12/2008 23:01

Your present was posted on Friday

laughalot · 15/12/2008 12:49

Gosh it seems like ages since I last posted I am always so busy with something or other. I will be glad when we get to thursday as its aidans last day at nursery . My little boy starts full time in jan . He bought such a lovely christmas card home from nursery it bought a tear to my eye. Its his nativiy play this week he rekons he is a camel but today he told me he is a dancer so its anyones guess.

Sorry to hear about everyone whos lo are ill, but wilkie had to laugh at little j having a poop on the floor.

Oh no aidan is killing lauren I must go.

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 15/12/2008 13:41

Crap and wank

J has a raging temperature so we are at home today and it is his nursery christmas play tonight at 5pm. If I can get his temp down with Nurofen would you take him??

eandh · 15/12/2008 13:46

Personally if he is fine in himself and you can get his temp down I'd take him, however, if he is being miserable sod unhappy little chap I'd leave him, I think there are so many bugs going around at the moment

Anyway gotta dash am off to the hotel to set up the secret presents for branch managers lunch (and spy if there is a present for me in there [winl]

Reggiee · 15/12/2008 18:23

Illness in the Reggiee household too. Colds / hacking coughs / high temperatures etc. Really struggled at work today, but only 2 and a bit more working days before I get almost 3 weeks off. Whopppeeeee!Scan on Thursday. Think we're going to find out (but not sure if we're telling )

Vino how did today go? Was it weird being back?

How's J been today Wilkie? If ok, then I'd take him. If it were me I'd probably not cos I'm lazy

Lal what will you do in JAnuary to keep you entertained?!

So Eah...was there a pressie for you?

rudolphtheROUGEnosedreindeer · 16/12/2008 12:20

Well it was and still does feel wierd to be at work (lunch time at the mo). Missed Sylvie sooo much and she has heavy cold stiull so struggling to sleep at night. I was up with her from 3ish am so sleepy today. DH poorly too and we have no heating so unsettled in the vino household. Hopefully british gas will be able to fix it this afternoon!

Lizzzombie · 16/12/2008 18:58

Ahh, well done Vino, on your 1st day back. (thats right isn't it?) I was informed recently that under the new maternity laws, you can work upto 10 days paid ontop of your 9 months smp, to ease you back into the work place. Did everyone know that?

Ok, so 3 people I know in RL are now pregnant, another one announced it at the wkend. Not to mention all the customers I have, who have kids younger than mine, and another one already or are preggers again. And of course you fertile girls on this thread too!!
I swear I don't want to go through this nightmare of toddlerdom again, but I've never actually felt broody before. Its a whole new experience. Like, insane jealousy with hormones taking over your body if you know what I mean. Its mental. And its doing my head in!
Please tell me this feeling can be cured (not by having another baby...but by, a pill or something!)

Reggiee · 16/12/2008 19:30

Oh-oh Lizz....pitterpattertinyfeet....

Vino MUCH sympathy. Bad colds and no heating = shit. More than welcome over here for a warm relaxing bath etc. Btw, notice your Xmas name didn't make it to the MN shortlist. There seem to be very familiar names there / active Mnetters but our lovely Nemo is there so all vote for her here

Feeling better today cheers all. Not too many comments yet from strangers but you still can't really tell I'm PG unless you see me lying down. Some work people were telling me how much I shouldn't find out the sex though which I thought was amusing.

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 16/12/2008 19:34

Fuck I feel like shit. DH has come down with proper flu (not the man version) and I have a really heavy cold and bad head. J has been fine today - full of beans which has made things worse cos I just want to curl up and sleep.

Of course DH's illness has eclipsed mine so I have been doing everything for J today whilst he has laid on the sofa moaning. I don't begrudge him being ill but a little effort and help wouldn't have gone amiss (but hey maybe I am just being hormonal). So it is more time off work for me - I swear my sickness record looks absolutely dreadful. Hate taking time off work.

Vino - I thought you weren't back until tomorrow? What is wrong with DH?

Lizz - have another. G'on you know that you want to

I want to stay up and watch 'Survivors' but may have to watch on catch up as my bed is already calling.

The christmas play was FABULOUS. So amazing - I cried through most of it . He was a little star turn and danced, sang and clapped his way through the whole HOUR! Bless him. Proud mumma.

eandh · 17/12/2008 07:09

Lizz - ummmm no cure I am afraid (unless you buy one of those freakly real life doll things you see on those documenteries!)

Vino - hope you had a better night with S and work wak ok, was teh heating fixed yesterday?

Rgee - find out the sex!!!!!! (well I did 2nd time so much more practical to know )

Wilkie - ((((hugs)))) hope you (and dh) feel better soon, feel for you being pg and poorly plus toddler do you need a chocolate supply posting well done J on his star performance!

Not alot going on here, dh off today as he had a few days holiday to use I was taking the girls to soft play with eddas but my 2 and her 2 are all full of coughs and colds so we've cancelled that and hopefully might catch up tomorrow, DH mentioned taking them down to Hastings so they could have a run around on teh beach and maybe go to the aquarium, however, I am not so keen on the getting cold part of that plan

Lizzzombie · 17/12/2008 08:50

Eah - A re-birth doll. Thats SUCH a good idea! I'm going to start saving now! Much more practical than a real baby! Love it!
Hope you make it to Hastings. In fact, I think you should go the extra 20 miles and come to Eastbourne!
Wilklie - You poor thing, thats pants that your house has the illness also. I think I am a bit addicted to Tesco Paracetemol Plus (with extra caffine) they are the only thing keeping me going at the moment!
Post photos of J being a star! I want to see the cuteness!
Rgee - What a surprise, cliquey mners on the shortlist. Yawn. Deffo find out the sex of the baby, then you can go mad in the sales!
Our 50% sale started yesterday on baby clothes, today on underwear and tomorrow on boys & girls. I have got a HUGE PILE put by to buy! Lots of gorgeous little girls outfits for about £8!
Right, off to vote for Nemo x

TinselCoveredWILKIE · 17/12/2008 09:32

As requested Lizz - photos uploaded

Lizzzombie · 17/12/2008 13:31

Where??!

laughalot · 17/12/2008 13:31

Wilkie I cannot see the pics have you banned me lol.

laughalot · 17/12/2008 13:32

Lol lizz

rudolphtheROUGEnosedreindeer · 17/12/2008 14:51

Rgee - I couldn't find where to enter the mn xmas name comp so lazily made no further effort. Heating is fixed hooray and we do have an immersion heater so managed some hot water to bath girls on monday (hadn't been done since thurs so they needed it) to wash up and for me to shower, but the hot water ran out on dh! oops. Ta for offer of bath though.

Wilkie - I went back to work on mon and tues this week. Am of now but working 22,23,29 and 30 Dec before going practically full time in Jan. Feeling a bit happier about it now. Pics of J's play cool. Hope DH feeling a bit brighter.

E&H- S is much better today, has been asleep for nearly 3 hours actually. I propped her cot up last night which meant she slept through instead of cough waking her up. We are going to see my brother tomorrow as its his birthday (2 hours drive away) so she will sleep plenty then, hopefully she will be ok for nursery on fri as I have lunch +wine with a friend planned! E&S are supposed to be staying with PILs this weekend but FIL has been in bed for a week with flu so not sending them if he is still poorly as don;t want them ill over christmas. I have been looking forward to chilling out with DH though so will be sad to miss that, still, well children are better than ill ones however tired I might get.

Lizz - might have to get myself to mothercare as I think their clothes are quite nice and S could do with some.

So sad, at Ellens nursery there were 2 staff pregnant but one has lost her baby at approx 25 weeks, had to give birth. I cried when they told me. She is so lovely and must be such a hard job for her to come back to whenever that might be. Then another member of staff has cancer so finishes today for 6 months while she has treatment.

Must sort some washing out and ring my mum

eandh · 17/12/2008 16:41

Well after all the discussion this morning Idecided that I would take Ellie to London for the day (I had prebooked tickets back in August to see Father Christmas in Harrods today but didnt want to ask my Mum to have Hattie again as she has been helping us so much lately) anyway dh was home so he had HAttie and we got the 9.20 train, we went to disney store and lookd at selfidges christmas display and then headed for Harrods, considering it was free I was impressed she got a huge golden harrods chocolate coin and a lovely raymond biggs snowman sticker book, only queued for about 15minutes and loads to look at whilst queuing, when we saw FC he knew we'd left Hattie at home (I think a little elf had been earwigging Ellie talking to a little bot in the queue in front of us) and he gave us presents to give to her. She had her photo taken and it was £10 for 4 pictures which I didnt think was too bad (and they took as many shots as you liked until you were happy with them) Got home about 3pm and she is knackered as we have done loads of walking (and she was supberb on the tube!)

Wilkie - love the pics how are you feeling today

Vino - glad S slept better an dhope you have a lovely day tomorrow

Rgee- are you home at xmas or having one of your wonderful trips away??

LAughalot - hope A behaves tonight at nativity play

Had a major panic yesterday as ryanair had changed my flight for when LAL and I go away from morning to mid afternoon after much panicing and almost crying on the phone lovely lady swapped me free of charge so am flying from stansted and flying back into gatwick (just need to make sure I get my brother to take me to stansted and my dad to pick me up from gatwick!!)

eandh · 17/12/2008 16:43

oh and the couple in front of us in Harrods had 2 boys (4 and 2) also had a Nanny and an au pair with them and I was earwigging their conversation and Liz Hurley was the youngest boys godmother and they couldnt catch up over Christmas as Liz already left for carribean as fed up of the British weather
