ooo pcf they'd be perfect (and just the right number) - I'll email you when I am home and will sort postage (have found a local shop that does peppa pig stuff but way £'sss than online so I'll order tablecloth and few bits online) have seen a peppa pig cake somewhere so need to go googling supermarkets later

Lizz - sending calming, non screeching, non running, sitting down nicely like a little angel vibes your way!

I have a bow tie & its a fully adjustable one too, so should be fine for J! Wil pop in post tomorrow. x

If anyone thinks its weird that I had one, its from when I worked in a Belgian Beer Bar in the 1990s. Bow ties and waistcoats were de riguer of a classy joint in the olden days!

Dragonhart · 01/12/2008 20:13

Rachel has another cold now. Fells like one of us or more has had a cold for the last 2 months, just going round and round.

Wilkie- Feeling sick and nauseaus is awful and makes you feel low in itself. Then a job that makes you miserable on top is just awful. Agree that time off might help as it did for me with Luke when I was still at work.

As for the feeling guilty about not playing with J, I have felt that since I got preg with Ruth. Felt awful sitting him infront of the tv just to get a break or getting cross when he started shouting because he wants attention, but it is not for too long. Just keep thinking that he will have a brother or sister to play with and support and love him in the future, which is definately worth a loosing a bit of attention now. x

Sorry cant help about the suit.

Lizz- I hate it when people make you feel like what your kid is doing is odd. Kids scream. ALOT. Bet hers do too but she has learnt to block it out. When my brother comes round, he finds it noisy at our house and sometimes, I just havent noticed that one of them is screaming! Our house is never quiet until bed time.

vinorouge · 01/12/2008 20:34

Wilkie I felt like that when I was pg with Sylvie and had no energy at all for playing when it was just me and Ellen. I used to try to arrange to see someone else because I found it easier to cope when E had a playmate and I had another adult to talk/cry to. If you want we can try to sort out how we can meet more often. Also I agree with E&H I was a lot more worried second time about what could go wrong with a pg, 'more aware' is a good way of E&H putting it. You know how much growing is going on inside so its only natural that you will be exhausted. Time off work sounds a good idea as will give you chance to rest and to be on your own

Sorry I can't help with the suit either.

Lizz how was the hospital? i think every kid has their 'bad' point IYKWIM, in some its shrieking, others its pushing everyone over (Ellen's current phase), others its biting or crying at everything, not sleeping well....and yes we all zone out to what our own kids do because it becomes 'normal' but then suddenly on another kid something might seem annoying enough to flip you over the edge.

Lizzzombie · 01/12/2008 20:48

Thanks girls, wise words.
I was talking to my Mum about it this evening & she agrees he is more 'screamy' than other kids. I told her how it was driving me nuts, and shes offered to help out by paying for another nursery session for me. I am soooooooo chuffed. There is no way we could afford it, and he loves it there, and I need some me time before I loose the plot. I love my Mum!

Hospital wasn't too dreadful, but I hadn't realised it was an hour appointment! Oops. The main issue I have with it was that I went in, having not really felt the knee problem that I had since Spetember, and after he tweaked it, its back again. With a vengence!!! Grr.
Nice young studnet physio though, so not all bad!

eandh · 01/12/2008 20:51

Lizz thats lovely of your Mum so when are you going to have your 'me' time (eandh counts down to next september when E at school and H at preschhol 2 mornings a week )

When we have this January meet up DJ & Hattie can have a screeching contest

Reggiee · 01/12/2008 21:01

Yup second timeround defo not the same. I have spent so much time worrying about this pg where I remember having no worries first time. Also felt more miserable cos when you're tired / heaving your guts up, you just have to get on with it rather than curl up on the sofa. CBeebies is now my good friend. Coupled with a crap job I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit down Wilkie.

Lizz your mum sounds fab . Have to ask some recent comments from you have included 'nice young student physio' and (from memory) 'fit car mechanic'

Dragon so much going around. I've been snuffling this week and have spent this evening wiping snot. Nice. Hope the famille get better soon. Roll on nice weather.

Lal just seen your photos on FB

Ok, further update on Xmas planning. I've written a list of who to send cards to. Can't be bothered to go to the PC upstairs to print out address labels. That's it for now.

DH is bored. He's had a day off work today so watched films and played computer games. And did the hoovering but our hoover is knackered.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes ladies, we had a fab weekend cost a bomb but it was lovely. Got a birthday cake inthe gordon ramsey resturant which was nice but then the bill was £ 200.00 .

Wilkie sorry to hear that you are feeling down its hard work being a mum at the best of times and then you have to contend with being pg what a nightmare. I have a black waistcoat which aidan wore for my bros wedding it was on the the small side I can send it if you wish to see if it fits j.

Rgee hows bump ? Love the pics of p on facebook.

Vino sounds like a good idea meeting with wilkie then little j will have a playmate whilst wilkie cries/ laughs ect with you .

Lizz d sounds like l she screams all the time and its a proper high pitched squeal it drives me nuts. Sounds fab fab fab what your mum did bless her.

Dragon nice to see you back on sorry to hear that you all have been ill we have had a few weeks of that in our house with aidan. Bet rachel is getting to big now.

Pcf how are you feeling ? I dont suppose alex has a plain red t shirt does he ? Aidan needs one for his nativity play but getting a plain red t shirt seems impossible.

We put our tree up last night we bought a white one this year it looks very pretty dh says its a bit girly. Its my xmas party this weekend this time of year is just so busy.

PCF - I am complete opposite of you as soon as things arent played with/to small/havent been used for a while I am selling/freecycling/binning. Eddas thinks its funny because I am such a minimalist and she is such a hoarder (we are exactly the same as each of our Mums )

Hello!

PCF - thank you for the offer but my mum has managed to find a shirt and trousers in Primark for the bargainous price of £6 total.

Lizz - thank you for the bow tie, let me know how much you want for postage

EAH - I am a minimalist too and throw stuff out all the time (or sell it)

LAL - these plays are gonna be so cute aren't they

Where's UD and 2Happy recently?

Feeling a bit better in myself which is good. Had run in with witchy witch at work but really stood my ground and asked her to stop talking about me behind my back and to tell me to my face

Yesterday and today have had smudge of brown discharge so rang MW who has got me another scan tomorrow at 9am which I thought was brilliant - am just a bit concerned but trying to chill - am 12+3 so thought I was past the 'bleeding' danger stage.

Had booking in appt today too, she took bloods and I begged her to try and hear h/b which she did eventually and we think we heard it for a few seconds but she said really it is too early. I don't have another MW appointment until 21 weeks though which seems a really long time to me or is that usual with second pregnancies? She is really cool though and said if I wanted to see her at all just to make an appointment anytime.

eandh · 02/12/2008 18:48

well sone for talking to the witch and it seems all the mums are being fab at the mo. I had bleeding on and off with Hattie pretty much throughout my pregnancy (tmi alert and lots of browny discharge) and obviosuly everything was fine. I think I saw midwife at 8 weeks booking in then 13 weeks (post scan appt) and then not until around 20 weeks (and after that maybe once every6-8 weeks and then went under consultant/hospital care at 32 weeks because of iron/bleeding etc etc)

Reggiee · 02/12/2008 20:03

Mw visits the same as PCF. Ditto bleeding til recently.

It has been snowing really heavily here this past couple of hours. About an inch outside atm. Looks sooooo pretty in our back garden though.

eandh · 02/12/2008 20:07

not fair I want snow (actually I only like snow if there is loads of food in the house and I dont need to go anywhere!)

ladytophamhatt · 02/12/2008 20:12

Eveneing all.,

Wilkie, I hope you're feeling a bit better now but I rememebr feeling anxious throughout teh whole PG with george. I'm sure you all rememebr too....
I acn I say if you feel its getting too much then you must talk to someone. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I wish I had, I knwo knwo I wasn't stable and it makes me feelo abit sad that it spoilt such a lovely time.
can you increase the AD's? I'm on 20Mg and its made a huge differnece to my whole out look.
As for teh spotting, I had that too at about 14 weeks and it was polyps or something. Brown/old blood is generally an ok thing. I hope the scan goes ok.

Lizzz, DJs screaming... He was screamy when we met up but I just assumed that was a boy+ shops thing, mine have been like that(DH still can be). I didn't think it was anything other than a grumpy toddler TBH. Is he like it all the time?

Ummm I've still got to go shopping for my secret santa present. I have seen a few bits and bobs but nothing is quite right so I'll get to the shops properly thsi week and get shopping.

Nothing much to report here. G has still got a cough/cold, its been going on for weeks and weeks now, been back to eth docs about 5 times but its all just respiritory rather then on his chest. He sounds bloody awful.
I've just got over impertigo, caught of G. I look really attractive as its around my eye!

I can't believe its december already, Xmas need to be postponed or better still cancelled this year.
Bah Humbug.

Wilkiepedia · 02/12/2008 20:16

Oh I feel so much better now you have mentioned about bleeding after 12 weeks. I bled at 6 and 8 weeks last time but was feeling confident I had got past it this time.

LTH - yes I remember you being anxious last time. I don't feel so much anxious as just low. I was always on 20mg Citalopram which DOES work better but wanted to drop down to 10mg for pg. Will go back up after bubba born.

EAH - it has snowed all day here - tres christmassy
