lizz tehse are paint pens basically the paint is stored in the container and it has a brush sponge thing on the end £1.50 in wilkos and the one and only time they are allowed paint in my house!!

Am going to look for creme eggs when I next go to Tescos Hattie got the teletubbie aquadraw for xmas but has not been that interested in it yet!

She had some lovely bits £70 cash and £40 in vouchers plus a few small presents, my brother has got her this for spring ans some other clothes from other people inclusing a ladybird dressing up outfit that she has had on since 8am!! Party starts at 12.15 and everything ready now

PCF - that sounds painful I've read about SPD do you think it may be that?

rudolphtheROUGEnosedreindeer · 05/01/2009 12:29

I'm here. Knackered but here. At work so just caught up, can't find the time at home at the mo.

E&H I got that 1.74 pram set for Ellen's birthday but not put it together yet. Hope Hattie has a nice party.

Will try to catch up properly this week.

2Happy · 05/01/2009 14:34

Happy birthday Z, R and H. Hope the days went well for them all. Raisingrrl the cake looks fab, and there is nothing wrong with taking recipe ideas from Big Cook Little Cook, I keep meaning to try their boiled sweet biscuit thingies (though think they would have been better at Christmas, slightly missed the boat...)

Vino - welcome back! Hope things calm down soon
Wilkie - I had to get a family & friends railcard to go and visit my sister so want to make the best use of it and fancied a Yorkshire type meet up. York or Leeds or summat.
Reg - no I wasn't paranoid about you being a stalker !! And as for Loosh, well there's no escape for her because I know where she lives, the rest of you at least benefit from some anonymity!! How was work?
eandh - hope the party went well. I love those paint pens too, so much better than 'real' paint!
Lizz - was there enough to make a snowman?
Pink - ouch! (That was for the pain, rather than the singing )
Guadalupe - were you at somehting special today to be eating? And I'm sure diet are harder in the cold, definitely need comfort food just now!
lal - hope the first day went well today

Happy birthday all! Two years ago today and all that...(I think I was in a heap sobbing)
Eah did everyone crawl out of the woodwork and remember H's birthday? Any photos of the party yet?
Raisin how did the cake go down?

PCF love the photo. It looks remarkably similar to me How's your back today?

Hi Vino! Hope you are looking after yourself and not arranging too much socialising . Is work panning out ok?

So 2H any thoughts on when you would like a trip to yaaarkshire?

Lizz am wanting a creme egg badly. Instead I am eating my way through ELizabeth Shore's orange crisp chocs....

Back to work went fine today. Only 30-some days left if I leave as late as possible, which I may not.

eandh · 05/01/2009 20:05

evening - Rgee nope about 6 people still havent rung/sent a card hey ho never mind - pics on facebook

Update on my DS saga - I escalated the claim and it was due to end today as no response from buyer but buyer responded tonight so now paypal are reviewing the case aaaarghhh never ends but I am letting it sweep over me and not let it ruin a lovely day

Lizzzombie · 05/01/2009 20:15

Rgee - You are so much more classy than me!
Eah - Glad you survived the day, I'm halfway through a bottle of pino grigot (darling) so I will offer you a virtual glass /.
2Happy - It was melted and all gone by 11am. BUT, soooo much warmer today than the past fortnight!
PCF - We should really get our arses in gear and meet up halfway in Brighton or something, before you get too big....I'll bring my discount card!

I have NO IDEA what to get DJ for his birthday. I guess its train bits and bobs, and we were thinking a big bean bag for his room for stories. People keep asking what they can get him, and he doesn't need anything. He has a ridiculous amount of clothes, I have totally transferred my shopping ocd onto him now!
x

Shimmer · 05/01/2009 23:29

Owww just spent HOURS catching up on everything and now it's really late and I really should be getting off to bed!

But just wanted to say Hi and Happy Birthday to Hattie, Ruth & Zac for today!

Freddie's is on Thursday, I'm actually quite excited I will not be making a cake as I am a pretty rubbish cook...even following a Big Cook Little Cook recipe! (DH calls it 'Big Cock Little Cock' and I find it very hard to remember it's actually 'Cook') So F will be making do with the shop bought variety. Where does the best brithday cake do you reckon - M&S maybe?

Lizz and PCF I'm inviting myself to your Brighton meet-up. I'm warning you PCF I WILL have bump envy!

laughalot · 06/01/2009 12:28

7 this morning.Hello !!!!

Shimmer asda or m&s. My dh calls it big cock little cock too .

Rgee you can get away with eating loads of creme eggs .

Lizz lol at the pressie thing why did we have kids so soon after crimbo. Lauren had a bean bag last year but decided she could get in the zip and eat all the polystrine [sp] balls . Lauren has got the elc kitchen and the reduced pram set that hattie had.

Pcf thanks for asking about aidan he had a good day but was so tired when I fetched him. He was in bed for 7 and I had to wake him at 7 this morning. He did say last night he wasnt going today as he gets to tired . I must admit I was so looking forward to him going and it was nice but you cant help but worry about them.

Eah has the carpet man been yet ?

Right im of to strip WALLPAPER.

Katw3kitts · 06/01/2009 13:40

Happy New Year Guys !!

Thank you to my SS. A real glass of wine and a choccy as well as a pretty necklace.

Well birthday and Christmas came and went. Very nice and totally uneventful (made mental note to get chimney swept ... its not been done for a couple of years eeeek !)

If my family were like yours at christmas 2H, I'd leave them to it and go it alone. I've only met your little boy once, but he was a sweetie, and you were the perfect mum, even taking him all the way down to the sea. You wouldnt catch Reggiee and me hiking all the way down there to dip a toe in the north sea I think you need a meet up in Alnwick or Rothbury sometime soon !

Kids back at school and my front room looks like I dont have any kids in the house ... just how I like it

Still havent got my chuffin car back from the garage ... after a month they are still baffled ... and I'm having to drive around in all this snow and ice in a skitty slippy thing !

We were called up for initial speech therapy assessment during the holidays, and as you said PCF, bit of a waste of time really. I think he'll get there in his own time albeit eventually.

Speech day on friday BUT

Dr Miriam is the guest speaker, (I think she is an old girl) I read every word of her book twelve years ago... but funnily enough never even looked at it last time. Looking forward to what she might have to say though. Anyone want me to heckle ask her any questions ?

2Happy · 06/01/2009 14:23

kwk - glad Christmas/bday went well. Would love a meet up sometime - Alnwick Gardens, or have you ever been to Cragside? It's quite fun. How can they not know after a month?! Are you still in the thing that switches itself off whenever you stop?! Is that Miriam Stoppard then? I remember reading it fist pg, especially the bits where it showed exactly how the baby developped every few weeks. I remember how it felt an age before you got to the next bit. barely looked at it 2nd time, lol!
Shimmer - how're things going with the shop/childcare etc?
Reg - will almost certainly be down in April (dh talks at some anaesthetics conference in April and this year it's in the mighty 'Fax) but was thinking of coming down on maybe a saturday when dh is working (usually 3rd weekend of the month). How do saturdays suit the Yorkshire folk? Is it a dumb idea when you'll all be doing family stuff on a weekend. Can do thursdays/fridays instead too, though fridays more expensive on trains!!

Bloody knackered. dh went to a lambing last night and came to bed at 3.45am absolutely freezing so snuggled up to me to get warm, freezing me, then because he was knackered he fell straight asleep and snored like a bloody pneumatic drill the whole rest of the night .
ds1 had his first day of being at nursery "full time" today. It's only mornings, mon-fri, and we've been going every thursday for a bit, so didn't think it would be a big deal for him, but apparently he was a complete nightmare, not doing anything he was asked and just having tantrums all over the place . He had been really looking forward to going too. I'm sure he'll settle down, but I don't like the idea of him being unhappy (though also suspect the school were being very nice to him because it was his first day, when possibly he needed someone to tell him to stop being a git )

2Happy · 06/01/2009 14:25

ps haven't seen DragonH since before Christmas - hope you had a nice time (did you go to Inverness?), hope all well etc

looshkin · 06/01/2009 17:43

Happy Birthday to all ones due - Z/H ooh I forget sorry (this is why I don't post often as rubbish at keeping track!

I would be up for a Yorkshire meet if i ever get a spare moment from the work-home-family-morefamily-work merrygoround. Wilkie and I haven't even managed to meet and we live in the same town .

Our house is fairly quiet I am hoping we will get some sense of normality now that dh has had op (bowel removed) but we are back at the hospital next week to organise the next op so it will all start again. ds i fab but still not talking not even mummy so to all those with quiet ones it is fine and it will all come but in their own time although we do have the odd handy word like owl and fish which is great when he is crying and you have no idea what he wants (unless it happened to be an owl that is).

Right skips off again - by the way eandh that buyer sounds terrible dh does alot of ebay she has behaved terribly so I hope it gets reolved but try and let it wash over you....

raisingrrrl · 06/01/2009 18:39

Cake went down very well!

Kw3 - why don't ask Dr Miriam about her Nestle affiliations??

eandh · 06/01/2009 18:51

Evening - not much to report Ellie back at preschool today

2Happy · 06/01/2009 19:33

Dr Miriam has nestle affiliations?! [naive]

raisingrrrl · 07/01/2009 12:18

Happy birthday Freddie!

We're having Z's birthday party tomorrow - what is wrong with people, why can't they just fecking confirm if they're coming or not? It's not bloody difficult is it? Still, my new best mate is making her Mars Bar slices to bring, so I'm happy!

eandh · 10/01/2009 06:53

oooo I so know what you mean raisan hope you have a lovely day and look forward to seeing pics

I am going to buy some earplugs as H has decided she needs to wake every morning around 3.30am, she stays in her bed, but will sing wheels on the bus over and over (well not even the whole versus you can hear 'wheels, bus, round, round' then 'beep beep beep' then 'round round' etc etc but it wakes me up and then I cant get back to sleep, then dh up at 4.45 and H back asleep but still gets up by 6am

DH working so just me and the girls and not sure what to do with tbh????
