Hello all

UD - I was a bit worried about the 'not enough space on the board' bit too. Do you mean this thread or MN in general? I go through phases with it but agree, that some people just seem to spend their life on here. Just stick to this thread?!

PCF - glad to hear that your sickness eased in the last few weeks. There is hope! Have you had any more thoughts on names?

Reg - have you heard from Vino? Might text her in a min, she's been v quiet

Well, I fell down the stairs yesterday! Fron 7 steps up but luckily landed on my back. It really frightened me, jarred my back and totally winded me. My friend rushed round and stayed with me for the day to make sure I was OK. Rang MW and she said as long as I didn't hit bump it should be fine and I felt LO moving last night. Really really shocked me though If it's not one thing it is another eh!!?

UD - ditto what everyone else is saying - not enough space on MN, or on this thread? Either way , but much more so if you feel that about this thread. I always thought that this is much less cliquey than the rest of MN, and much less so than ds1's post-natal thread. Not that anyone except Reg was jumping at the chance for a meet up with me [paranoid]...

Wilkie - hope you back is ok, glad lo fine
PCF - mmmm, creme egg, yum
eandh - hope it works out in your favour

Had a lovely day yesterday. dh suddenly announced he was taking the kids to some railway thing with his brother, so I got an afternoon with no kids, out in the hills. Bliss. Sunny, snowy, and peaceful. Except for the bunch of teenagers sledging down the hill. That's a 2342ft hill. I was imagining ds1 doing that in another 10 years

eandh · 04/01/2009 14:33

Ud - hope you meant MN as a board/forum not us am stalking you on fb anyway )

Wilkie - omg glad you are okay and hope back feels better soon

2happy - now theres a huge difference between you and me if I had afternoon on my own I'd be shopping if you're ever any further south I'd love to meet you

PCF - saw your facebook status has dh done something lovely???

Not much going on here, girls are painting, I've cleaned up ready for tomorrow and prepared as much food as I can (sausage rolls cooked, eggs boiled etc etc got H a peppa pig cake in asda but iced her name on it for her just chilling for a bit before I start dinner

Wilkiepedia · 04/01/2009 14:50

Actually, the other day I was in town eating a Greggs hot sausage roll with J in the buggy and he wanted it so I gave him the last third and I couldn't help but think of what MN would say

2Happy - I would LOVE to meet up (missed that post??) - are you moving or stopping nearer here??

Lizzzombie · 04/01/2009 16:45

coo-ee everyone! Happy 2009!
UD - Please do drop in every now and then.
Wilkie - Nasty shock for you with the stairs, gald you & bump are ok though. I am afraid DJ has alot of sausage rolls in his diet. Its on the narrow list of foods he has approved.
Eah - Have a fab day tomorrow looking forward to seeing lots of cute photos!
2Happy - I am so immensly jealous that you have snow. We just have coldness. In fact, I think its actually warmer outside than it is inside at the moment.
PCF - Glad your MS has eased off. Must be a nightmare to cope with 2 other (or even 1 other) child and be feeling queasy. Thank God for Ceebeebies! Plus, I am jealous of your creme egg! I have not seen any out here yet. I will be stocking up as soon as I see them!
LAL - I think your wall paper is very groovy (in a good way) is the rest of your house retro looking/unusually decorated? I'd love to have the space to do things like that in our house. We do have a (blood) red feature wall, which is very badly chipped from having things knocked against it, but I can't face re painting.....eah are you up for it?

  • btw EAH - I thought you'd told the girls you had given all the paints to nursery?! - I loved that one!

Hope everyone is well.
I made it to 2am on NYE. Which was pretty hardcore I thought! Still catching up on sleep now though!

Shimmer - I saw your Blue Bell railway photos on FB. Looks lovely. We are hoping to take DJ for tea on it on his birthday.

xxx

Hey - guess who?

Just thought I'd pop in under a new email address/name and just stick to this thread. I am under strict orders not to click on Active Convos!

It was MN in general, I just don't feel like it's the same site I joined 2.5 years ago, I don't want to go into massive amounts of detail but suffice it to say that most of my "mates" (apart from you lot, natch) have buggered off and it just seems to be sanctimonious pity parties and ganging up on people now!

Sorry for the small rant there!

Wilkie - hope you and bump are ok, I tripped over when I was about 12 weeks pg and it scared the life of me!

Right, I must go and make some cakes for Z to take into nursery with him tomorrow!

laughalot · 04/01/2009 18:36

Hay you glad your back and I totally agree with what your saying. As wilkie said with the sausage roll if that had been posted elsewhere there would be a huge debate about a feckin sausage roll . It has changed loads.

Lizz nope rest of the house is being done and really the kitchen and my bedroom will be the only wild rooms . We are lucky in that its a big kitchen so we can get away with it. We are having a major revamp all new doors, new carpets, decorating every room, new wardrobes I cant wait.

Eah happy birthday to h for the morning I will be thinking of her.

Wilkie sorry to hear you have been a bit down and sorry to hear about your fall. I think its so hard 2nd time round very soon you will probably feel guilty for j that you are having another. When I had l I just used to sit and cry thinking iv upset aidan he hates me ect but its all normal feelings. Hope you feel better soon.

2happy bliss a day to yourself sounds lovely. Did the boys enjoy there outing?

Pcf hows baby bump doing ? I bought my first cream egg yesterday .

Rgee have you decided on a name yet for your little chap ?

Right need to go and make my babies lunch he starts fulltime tomorrow

eandh · 04/01/2009 19:03

lizz - thes are paint pens so no brushes/water etc involved and almost non messy proof!!

Raisan girl (((hugsssssss))) happy birthday to Z tomorrow

Nemo if you are lurking happy birthday to C as well!

Laughalot - will text you in the morning but giv A a big hug form us and hope he has a fab day at big school

Hattie didnt nap again today and coped fine went to bed in about 2 minutes at 6pm and E just gone up and all is quiet now I need to blow some balloons up and blu tack some banners onto the walls

Reggiee · 04/01/2009 19:30

Happy birthday to the big list of 2 year olds tomorrow!!

Eah sounds like you are organised as ever putting things up now .

Raisin welcome back . Glad you're stayinh. Have a great day tomorrow too.

Lal hope school goes well tomorrow. Still no names btw - want something out of the top 10 but not uncommon iykwim. Then I find there's no Official Statistics on names this year (only the Bounty ones). I am finding boys names much harder. Pip's name was ranked 600+ but I don't think it's uncommon, but I bet if I looked at the 600+ boys name it'd be something like "Boystar Blue". My fav name currently without much research is Jo(seph)

Hmm...dh is watching the darts....

Hiya Lizz! Happy New Year! Did you go out then and have one of two drinks ?

Wilkie not heard from Vino this year. THink she had a full on family Xmas time. Presume she will be back to work again tomorrow so will be around. I hope!
Glad you're feeling ok after your shock. Are you doing too much atm? Sounds like you need to put your feet up and be pampered.

Hiya PCF. How's your bump progressing?

2H were you paranoid that no-one else wanted to meet up with you or that I am a stalker . I was replying on behalf of all the Yorkshire folk. You couldn't come here and not meet up with Wilkie and Vino (not forgetting Loosh of course).

Greggs sausage rolls btw are the best. Staple lunch if I#m ever in town with the lo.

Had a really lovely day today. Dh and I took lo swimming this morning (only the third time ever ) and she loved it (for 20 minutes anyway). Cooked a roast chicken dinner plus pear and ginger crumble this afternoon with the lo's "help". Pip has been a real sweetie making me sit in her kitchen area (corner of our lounge) saying 'cup of tea mummy?' the rest of the time.

Back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

laughalot · 04/01/2009 19:33

Love the name. I like ellis heard it on telly last night.

Guadalupe · 04/01/2009 19:46

Are some of you two yet? Happy birthday! F isn't until the 21st so I have a couple of weeks to get organised. Not sure what to get him, won't be much after christmas.

Raisin - was it just that thread or have things been getting you down here lately? I started to read it but had to go and do something and it was gone. Happy birthday to Z.

My new year diet only lasted three days. Have stuffed my face today.

eandh · 04/01/2009 20:05

Laughalot I've text you twice tonight and no reply

raisingrrrl · 04/01/2009 20:18

I've just finished making Z's birthday cake - picture here, for those of you not on FB!

Reggiee · 04/01/2009 20:18

Sadly, birthday's are easily forgotten in early January . Thankful in some ways that all our relatives gave me P's pressies and cards at the same time as Xmas, so only received as small number of cards (on the day itself - none late).

My birthday most people forget (although in recent years they get not so subtle hints) and I end up with tat from the sales . DH is taking me away next weekend (child free) for my birthday .

Reggiee · 04/01/2009 20:21

Raisin that looks cool. Pass me a slice please. Nom nom. What are the pink and yellow things? Are they marshmallows?

mrsC we were tight and didn't actually get anything for Pip for her birthday as she hadn't opened all her Xmas pressies from us. I guess we officially got her a bed . Of which I am pleased to report she has taken to it very well. Hurrah!

raisingrrrl · 04/01/2009 20:22

Yes, they're marshmallows. That's actually the cake for nursery tomorrow (to assuage the guilt I'm feeling for sending my - slightly ill - child to nursery on his birthday) I'm going to make another one for the weekend when we have his party!

eandh · 04/01/2009 20:24

Commented on fb Raisan but looks fab

Hattie has that £1.74 pram set I got from a link on here and a peppa pig campervan but we are going to get a few bits for the playhouse in the summer for her.

I know how to waste my time I've just cut out 2 loaves of bread with a cookie cutter so when I make sandwiches tomorrow they'll be little round ones

eandh · 04/01/2009 20:27

oh and think we've decided what I am doing fo rmy 30th in April, dh had started arranging a surprise party thankfully 3 people who knew I would hate that sort of hinted to me so thats not happening, instead think we're going to head to London on the Saturday (birthday Friday) see a matinee of a show (am thinking hairspray, jersey boys or wicked) then off for a nice meal and if we have enough money stay overnight (although am seriously saving my pennies for mine and laughalots trip to dublin)

raisingrrrl · 04/01/2009 20:29

I got the idea for sieving the sugar over the letters from Big Cook Little Cook.

We got Z a cuddly cat bus (from My Neighbour Totoro) and he still has some bits and pieces from the IL's to open from Xmas! No idea what's in them - probably more age-inappropriate tat! Still, he likes opening the presents, so I shouldn't be mean!

WTF?! I pop away to the Debenhams (crap) blueX sale website for 2 hours, and suddenly there are a million posts!

I just had to pop back to ANNOUNCE.....
I have just eaten my first creme egg of the year.

It was too small.
I am dissatisfied.

Can't comment on all the posts but quickly:
PCF - Love that you have singstar Abba, I've not played it since we moved to our (very thin walled) terraced house! Have to wait till neighbours are on holiday. Have to say, I hope the Iggle Piggle cake doesn't look like Max!
LAL - Ahem....wild bedroom....I'm imagining all type of things!
EAH - Whats theis, paint pens?! Where are they from? I want some....for the summer, outside not near my carpet obv! I thought I'd hit the jackpot with the Thomas Aqua Draw PIL got DJ for xmas. Apart from the stress which it causes when the Thomas doesn't fit on the train tracks of the train set or go on the carpet.

Forgot that so many babies were born on the 5th!
Loving circular sandwiches and excessive baking!

Guadalupe · 04/01/2009 23:03

Aw, look at z's cake. That's great.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Chloe, Hattie, Ruth and Zac!!

Thanks for the list, eah.

Reggie - There is a puzzle I want to get him but we won't buy much. He didn't even open his farm at christmas so we've put that to one side. They don't really need much do they, not this soon aftre xmas presents. I suppose it will always be like this though.

Lizzzombie · 05/01/2009 09:21

We have snow! (well, a little bit!)
No I am proper hardcore too.

Happy Birthday to all the little people today x
