I think you will get offered the job Maveta!! And then you can become part of the tartan cake and coffee gang!!

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2008 11:40

EnvyWink

Bramshott · 26/11/2008 12:02

Yes but Maveta, it is cold in Scotland. Much better that GM, Weeonion and Liath apply for jobs in Mallorca I think?!?

geordieminx · 26/11/2008 12:03

We have snow and deep fried mars bars and men in skirts and castles and EVERYTHING!!!

Doobydoo · 26/11/2008 12:06

I yum deep fried Mars Bars.We nearly lived in Edinburgh[too expensive for the likes of us]

Maveta · 26/11/2008 12:25

oh don't, it's the weather that made me move away in the first place. It's dh that wants to live there really. He'd be over the moon. Although I don't think we could afford childcare so he'd probably have to be a SAHD and, knowing him, that makes me HE WOULD DIE! aaaaaaahahahahahhaha [evil]

Yes, all round it would be better if you all just came out here. Go on, you know you want to... we even have H&M now

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/11/2008 12:35

I am bleugh (although partly my own fault for not getting enough sleep at night )
J is bleugh but getting better, just have to hope he doesn't catch anything else.

Work christmas do next week, can't decide whether I want to go, one the one hand it will be hilarious, on the other it'll mean a lot of running around. AAARRGH

Let us know how the job application goes, Maveta. It's a positively balmy 9 degrees here today, warmest it's been for a week.....

Had ds's hair cut yesterday and now he looks like a little boy . Where did my baby go .

Went to a nearby country park today. Left the car in the car park and by the time I realised I'd left the change bag in the boot I was so far down the path I decided not to go back for it and trust that ds had already done enough poo for one day . Needless to say as soon as I'd forked out for the soft play in the cafe ds started grunting away and produced the mother of all turds. There was no-one else there to blag a nappy off so I could only try and clean him up as best I could in the loo and fashion a makeshift nappy out of hand towels girl guide style then put his waterproof trousers on done up as tightly as possible round the ankles and hoof it back to the car park .

Bramshott · 26/11/2008 15:57

Oh, and I just wanted to drop into the conversation that my Granny (who lost my Grandpa in May) is in love! Not quite sure whether to be or , but it does show that life still goes on, even when you're 83!!!

elkiedee · 26/11/2008 16:41

Hi all

Belated happy birthday to young Eddas

Aaaah to Bramshott's Grandma, hope she's found a good person to fall for!

I've been worrying about D's thug tendencies too, a lot of it seems to be pushing other kids. And he's so huge some parents probably think he's 3 or something.

dp and I had quite a row last night and sort of patched it up but he grouched at me this morning, and he still doesn't understand, I don't think, why I'm narked with him. He has a laptop through work which he regularly uses, as well as a Blackberry, but has seen these much more portable "netbook" computers and wants one. The union branch he's currently seconded to work for full time will pay but in January when they start the new budget year, but he's champing at the bit to buy one right now, meaning we'd have to pay for it and any overdraft/credit card interest between now and January. I'm not happy. He's arguing that it's his money, I think it's ours (I manage our household finances because someone has to). Aaaarrrgggghhh. This conflict over a f*ing toy (in my opinion) is spilling over into everything we've fought about since we got together.

Sorry for that long whinge, I must do some more work now but I needed to moan.

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2008 17:08

Liath, absolutely pmsl at your poo fiasco. That is just hilarious Sorry! You have such a way with words!!

Elkie, sorry you and dp are having issues. Seems to be the time for it with a few April ladies.

oooggs · 26/11/2008 19:35

dts are behaving very well, Jack calls for Erin all the time, middle of the night when she is out of the room he wants her.

Erin just wants to cuddle her brothers, infact anyone who stands still long enough.

DH and I are fine [touch wood]

but...............

they are still snotty, whiney, moany, bad sleeping and struggling to eat and drink - can't have it all!!

Maveta - Scotland too cold for this southern lass

sol - what is croup??

luce - hope things are getting in order

elkie - boys and their toys

katy - how did the breastfeeding battle go?

Bramshott - ahhhhhh to your granny

liath - that 'poo' things made me chuckle

Ellie - more sleep young lady [tut]

runny - did dh get off ok and manage to pack his bag himself?

MJ - F a bit better today?

GM - snatched - yikes - too close to home

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/11/2008 19:47

but sleep isn't as much fun
M has a huge bump on his forehead. Gave him ibruprofen and all it's done is make him hyper

I like sleep - will I ever wake up naturally again?

Doobydoo · 26/11/2008 19:57

How lovely Bramshott's Granny.
Luce..Good luck with your move
OOOGGs how you cope I do not know.
POTC,,,Hope things settle in your house!
Liath
Elkie really hope all ok.
Dippy how are you.
How are you and T today SPB.yOUR DH SOUNDED LOVELY...GIVING HIM A CUDDLE AND SAYING t MUST have had a tough day.
Hi to All
Am reading about the 6 wives of Henry 8th,very interesting.

liath · 26/11/2008 20:10

Aaaw, Bramshott - that's really sweet.

Oooggs - waking up naturally?? I fantasise about things like that......that and going to the loo on my own.....or putting in a tampon without a running commentary from a 3 year old .

Dooby - which book are you reading? I like Antonia Fraser's as she describes Henry 8th as looking like a potato head and is quite sympathetic to all the wives .

I think it's about time we sent the April men on a "How to be an attentive, sympathetic, loving and possibly slightly psychic partner" course. DH was on better form at the weekend (or in other words liath finally got a sh*g) but his hours are just so long that he is permanently either working or too knackered to do anything .

Hey ho. I've had a nice big glass of vino and am watching a scuba programme which reminds me of when I used to dive - when I was young, thin and even woke up naturally sometimes...........!

runnyhabbit · 26/11/2008 20:11

Isn't it wonderful how you can feel so much better after a good rant

Dh got off fine this morning (and managed to pack his bag all by himself) Maybe I was being a bit childish last night, but heck, it now means I have one less job to do

WE're ok too - think absence will make the heart grow fonder, and he's ended every conversation with "you do know that I love you very much, you mean everything to mean" etc. But then I've been very a bit offish, and told him they are only words.

Anyway, the ds are in bed, and I need to make lamb hotpot/stew thing, ready for tomorrow nights tea.

x

geordieminx · 26/11/2008 20:25

Another poo related story...

Took C upfor a bath, took his nappy off, started to put some clothes away, reaslised he had diahorea (sp) from one end of the upstairs to the other... stood in it, up his legs, all over the floor in 3 rooms, finally got it cleaned up, realised he had left a pile on my hairdryer, put him in the bath, then he crapped in there too.

Poor wee soul is on Anti b's at the moment - that bright yellow stuff - Amoxicylin (sp) - think its that thats upset his tum - needless to say it was a very strange colour - almost glow in the dark

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2008 20:27

Liath, you have set me off again. Lol several times at your desire to put a tampon in without a running commentary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God, it is so true!

B was asking me about my hairy front bottom. I told her that when she was older she would have the same. She thought about it for a moment, and said "Keeley's 6 and she hasn't got a hairy front bottom"

Glad you got a sh*g

Runny, glad is all ok with you and dh.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/11/2008 20:28

Am loving all these funny stories
