Oh Oooggs, what a nightmare you poor love. Huge hugs to you.

SPB, dh had a dodgy tummy yesterday, so probably a bug, albeit a mild one - thankfully.
Thought K had it, but I think it must have been teeth as I sent her to nursery today and no probs.

geordieminx · 25/11/2008 20:24

SPB, I'm so pleased you posted about T - and I mean that in the nicest possible way. I was at Luce's today and if C nipped her ds's face once he must have done it 5 times. He's twice the size of C and could have knocked him for six but the poor wee soul just stood there and took it.

I felt so bad driving home - he is being so naughty like that at the moment, and no matter how many times I tell him no, or tap his wrist he just keeps on doing it - normally when he is frustrated or not getting his own way.

He went to bite me this afternoon, so I put him down and told him he was naughty, I stood up and the little toad came walking towards me to bite my leg

I really worry taking him to play groups and such like at the moment, most parents are ok with it, and accept that its just that age, but there are a few that can be quite funny about it. The only consolation is its usually the older kids that he goes for... one of these days he's gonna get more than he bargined for

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2008 20:28

GM
Don't suppose there's much we can do apart from keep telling them. He had a complete meltdown tonight and then slapped DH across the face when we were changing his nappy. I've never seen either of them look so stunned. Then they had a "talk" and a cuddle and apparently he's agreed not to do it any more

liath · 25/11/2008 20:30

Ds bit me so hard the other day he left teeth marks. It's a funny age, they are definitely trying it on a bit.

I think the only option, GM is you come round and we put J & C in a playpen togather and leave them to it .

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2008 20:33

We're hoping T has got over biting - he was doing it loads about a month ago, luckily only to us and his toys. That wasn't in anger, more excitement iyswim. Hopefully he's over that now!

geordieminx · 25/11/2008 20:42

I think J would kick C's arse.... he's like a wee racing snake!

It was on the news that there have been 2 child abduction attempts in Glasgow this week,..... I'm pleased they werent trying in my street this afternoon... else I might have left them to it

WobblyReptile · 25/11/2008 20:51

I just wanted to echo the problems others are having with their lo's. F quite often pinches or hits ds, and today she slapped me across the face - charming.
I never had any of this sort of thing with ds, he was always very placid, so it is a bit of a shock. I always tell her not to do it and give her a row, and at this age I don't think there is much else you can do. I am sure she will soon stop if ds hoofs her back!! The thing is that he is incredibly tolerant of her which is to his detriment at times.

Eddas, hope you had a lovely day yesterday. Belated birthday wishes to you

Oooggs, sounds like you have had a rough day, hope you get at least some periods of rest overnight tonight. I was up a lot last night with F (I am sure she is teething as the dribble is just pouring out), and I only have one to contend with. Hope you are ok xxx

SOL, hope your dh is feeling better this evening. Manly illnesses are just awful

Luce, lots of luck with the move. Hope it all goes smoothly for you

Caz, hope you manage some rest with your poorly ones too. So many horrible bugs around just now. Take care xxx

Dooby, hope M is ok this evening

Ange, hope I is ok. Infected eczema is so horrible bless her xxx

Liath, lol at your threenager

That's it, can't remember any more. Have a quiet evening ladies xx

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2008 20:51

have they caught them?

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2008 20:52

T coughed himself awake and so is asleep on DH and doing the sniff-sniff-sob thing.
Feeling really sorry for him - as DH pointed out he's probably just had a horrible day

Sexonlegs · 25/11/2008 20:55

Liath, you're right - they are trying it on. K is an angel, but she has a minx side to her. She used to lie nice and still after her bath for nappy and pj's .... tonight however, she was running around the bed and laughing at me! She has also started doing fake crying to get attention

Love her!!

at babies being snapped GM.

geordieminx · 25/11/2008 20:58

C is barking like a dog at the moment too. He's been doing exactly the same the last couple of nightsbut touch wood he's quiet at the moment. He's on Anti-b's calpol and cough medicine.

Just hope he's better for Barcelona next week.

Liath - this looks nice

Sexonlegs · 25/11/2008 21:00

Snatched not snapped. Had 1 glass of wine tonight after not drinking for at least a week!!

Eddas · 25/11/2008 21:57

thanks for all the birthday wishes tis weird leaving my twenties, I'm not really fussed but I suddenly feel a lot older. I went out with friends on saturday night and all I wanted to do was come home

I'm really pissed of i'm a celeb's not on tonight

oooggs, sounds like an absolute nightmare. I hope they're all well again soon

runnyhabbit · 25/11/2008 22:17

Think I've caught up, so here goes..

ange - the best thing I've ever used for J eczema, is chickweed ointment. He gets it very bad behind his knees, but this keeps it under control

liath - good luck with move

spb/gmm - W is going through a "happy slapping" stage, but I can see that it is def out of frustration, more than anything else.

oooggs - I hope things ease up a bit for you. The other night sounds more like a nightmare x

potc - v cute pics of the boys. Don't think it'll be long, and W cot will converted to a bed (although that means he's growing up, and I'm not ready to admit that just yet)

hello to everyone else

Things a bit strained with me and dh. It's the usually story of me being taken for granted. Has really, really pissed me off this time, because he's taken advantage of the fact I have a very understand boss, and work colleagues, who don't mind me sorting out personal stuff in work time.
And the fact that he's away early tomorrow, for 2 nights, and hasn't apcked his bag. Usually I'd sort his work clothes, and he'd do the rest. But he decided to go to bed at 9 (didn't even bother to tell me) so now, I'm not going to do a single thing for him.

runnyhabbit · 25/11/2008 22:19

I'm getting very very at dh.
Just because he's the breadwinner, doesn't mean that my job is no less important.
And, ffs, he's a grown man, so it's about bloody time he acted like one

runnyhabbit · 25/11/2008 22:28

ranting to myself
not a good sign, is it

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2008 07:41

Morning all
Understand your frustration runny

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2008 07:45

Runny, hope you ok today. Men eh....

Funny I mentioned the humidifier last night.... B was up at 1 with croup!
Seems fine this morning after medised last night and steam on all night!!

Morning SPB

Must go. x

Maveta · 26/11/2008 08:52

Morning! belated happy birthday eddas

Feel for everyone with the hitting/slapping/pinching/ biting. N is a bit of a biter but only to dh and me and tbh seems over the worst of it, now he really only does it on rare occasions when he's very tired and I agree it is more excitement than temper. Although he has starting throwing things e.g. books, especially at the cat though he will stop himself if we catch him mid-hurl.

Sent my cv off for a job in edinburgh yesterday totally random and tbh not even sure we are up for moving right now at all.. but I saw it and thought, well what the hell. hahaha.. dh thinks I'm nuts. Like I said, really not even thinking about moving so not sure why I did it. And today I realised that I only put on this job and 1 previous and forgot the 1 before that , have had tons more of course but for cv tend to just put down the main 3 which account for the vast majority of time and are relevant. Anyway, on the applic form it only had space for two although there was a button for 'add more' and putting only 2 on kept my cv to 1 page, nice and concise (and tbh the 3rd is just call centre so totally irrelevant but does fill in time so now they're going to be all what was she doing for 2 years between uni and the first job listed then?)

Doh. Lucky I don't want the job tis all good practice I reckon.. at least my cv is up to date now. properly up to date that is

Bramshott · 26/11/2008 10:01

Hey all! Have enjoyed catching up but now have no brain at all to post anything! Can sympathise with you Runny - DH has now not been speaking to me for 2 days because I scraped the car bumper on Monday . And is also soo busy with work that he's home after the girls are in bed almost every day. Feels like a long slog sometimes, but I guess that's just life. Still, I have some nights out in the run up to Christmas at least .

Doobydoo · 26/11/2008 10:26

oh runny missed your rant.. grrr at dhs taking advantage of us lovely wives/partners Bramshott - bit excessive for scraping a bumper, no? I'd now not speak to him for days for being petty

Lol @ doobydoo - probably! hahah.. always works that way doesn't it? If I don't get called for an interview (which let's face it, I probably couldn't afford to go to!) I will be all awww I wanted to move and if I do I'll be all but we're happy here! we don't want to move!

Luce - where have you moved to btw? Missed that bit...

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2008 11:13

Ooooh let us know how job application goes Maveta - madness!!

Every sympathy here - things not good between my DH & I atm either. xx

to all the poorly babies. Mine are not too bad atm, but P has got a nasty cough, which woke her up at 11pm last night, poor love. Horrid.

Maveta · 26/11/2008 11:17

oh dippy sorry you have been hit by the dh/dw discord bug.. that was what dh and I were suffering from last week.

Must be xmas coming up, always seems to bring stress to a head for some reason.

This week things have been better for us. Lack of sleep was definitely the main problem so we have decided to do alternate mornings and so far is helping the general mood. Hope you all get back on track soon x
