So jealous of your meet-up in Glasgow. Many happy memories from there

POTC, how did the docs go?

GM, glad you had a good time in Barca.

NL, lovely to see you - things sound manic.

All ok here. K very under the weather with heavy cold and she had a temp this a.m. so didn't go to nursery.

Quick poll; dh and I supposed to be going out tonight with people he car-shares with and their other halves. I do not feel comfortable going as K is obv poorly. She has 2 ounces of her milk, gave me the bottle and zonked out. We will only be 10 mins away, but I am not sure I can relax and enjoy myself and make small talk with people I have never met before.

Thoughts???

geordieminx · 09/12/2008 19:20

Who is looking after the girls? Family yes, babysitter that wouldnt be able to comfort her probably not

oooggs · 09/12/2008 19:31

sol - I'm crap at leaving my dcs when they are well

so is the meet up on????????? I would love to be there and meet those lovely scottish mners, we instead have our own visitors from Scotlad arriving from Edinburgh tomorrow, FIL and his wife!

Coming to see Baby Rebecca (new niece) but are seeing us as well

OnceAPillockNowAnAngel · 09/12/2008 20:56

J has a suspected ear infection
Explains the grouchyness at least, but also means we can't fly. GRRRRRRRRR
Have promised M we will go at the end of term so if any of you will be around we'd love to rearrange
That'll be more time off work this week then, and more sleepless nights. Wouldn't it be nice to have just one week where one or other of the children are not ill?

geordieminx · 09/12/2008 21:20

Awh thats rubbish

StealthPolarBear · 09/12/2008 21:22

hi everyone
SOL and Pillock sorry you have ill babies, and to you missing the meet up Pillock
T has a cold and possibly a bit of an ear infection (or whatever it is before it's an infection iyswim). DH was looking after him, and he rang me at 3 to tell me he'd had to clean a load of "snot-type stuff" out of his ear Also is teething and slight conjunctivitis!! Quite apart from his general snotiness (from eyes nose and ear) he is absolutely fine and slept OKish last night for the first time in about 2 weeks.

Doobydoo · 09/12/2008 21:28

Am so sorry re poorly babies
Crap post off to lookk for lego on ebay
Hope all hae a good night.

seXMASonlegs · 09/12/2008 21:28

Oh POTC, what a shame. Poor J and poor you Hope he is better soon.

SPB, tht doesn't sound too good; snot coming out of T's ear He would have a temp if he had an ear infection??

Well, I didn't go out! Dh was a bit cross, but could see my pov. It was a friend we had babysitting, but tbh, I think K would not have settled with him, as we don't see him that often. Anyway, dh has gone out with apologies on my behalf.

elkiedee · 09/12/2008 23:06

What a pity POTC, hope J feels better soon.

SOL, sorry to hear that K is also feeling rough, glad you managed to resolve things though. I wouldn't really want to leave D with someone he didn't know quite well, no wonder dp and I don't get out much together! (not without D in tow anyway).

liath · 10/12/2008 08:16

That's a shame POTC . I was looking forward to accosting random women with 2 small children at the train station and asking them if they happenend to be a Pillock .

I probably won't be free the week before Xmas though I'm afraid. DH is on call right the way through Christmas week so I'm going to stay with my parents (unless you fancy meeting in Berwick-upon-Tweed....?).

Bramshott · 10/12/2008 09:45

Have a lovely meetup tartan ladies!!

I was out until 12 last night (unheard of for me midweek) so I am sitting here dribbling quietly into the computer keyboard . . . .

MavYourselfAMerryLittleXmas · 10/12/2008 12:31

Pesha · 10/12/2008 12:40

Just been to the Dr with Dylan and it seems he has chicken pox. It confused me because it has started all around where his eczema is, which is pretty bad at the moment, and I don't know of anyone who has chicken pox at the moment but Dr says it is going around. He has given him an antiviral drug as it can get quite bad with the eczema but apparently you are supposed to start it within 24 hours or 48 hours max and D's spots first started to appear on Monday but will hopefully do something.

So yet another instance of me taking him to the Dr for his eczema and it turning out to be something else Although to be fair I did suspect chicken pox but after gooogling last night I thought infected eczema seemed more likely. The Dr isn't sure its chicken pox, he said it could be eczema herpeterpiertpericum (or something like that!) which is caused by cold sores (J had one last week so I asked Dr about it) but thought blisters slightly wrong shape (after he googled images of it!!!) but said the treatment would be the same anyway so he can rest easy!

Poor little D though, as if his eczema wasnt enough horrible itching for him hes got pox now as well

And its completely put the kaibosh on my christmas shopping plans!!!

StealthPolarBear · 10/12/2008 13:10

poor D

jingleoooggs · 10/12/2008 13:46

Evening - I am knackered - P is teething for england, Ireland, Wales and Scotland and is completely miserable and super hard work She's already in bed , hoping she will stay there

Hope Tartan meet-up was fab - shame about your trip POTC Hoping you can rearrange....

Looking forward to seeing cute piccies of the reindeer twins Ooooggs

Supposed to be going out tonight, but practically falling asleep at the keyboard .....

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 10/12/2008 19:10

Hi all - am knackered as well after v busy day at work. Some stuff I'd pulled together went down well with the head honchos though so that was nice. B isn't teething I don't think - but she is having a fair few tantrums! Hope P cheers up soon for you Dippy!

Poor little D Pesha - hope the drugs kick in well.

Looking forward to hearing about the Scottish/Spanish meet-up

Very pleased because the clothes I ordered for B for Christmas have come. I got this and a top to match - how cute is that!

Ok that's enough ramblings......

liath · 10/12/2008 21:02

Evening all.

Had a great trip through to Glasgow. Dd & ds had a ball going on the merrygoround and seeing Father Christmas. We had a lovely chat & coffee with Maveta & GM then were treated to carol singing by kids from a local primary school. You haven't lived until you've listened to Jingle Bells sung in pure Weegie . I hope you have a nice day tomorrow, Maveta and good trip back to the warmth! Funny to think we overlapped at University.

Hope D is feeling better soon, D.

I'm bushed as well. My mum is up tomorrow so we're going to do the Edinburgh Christmas stuff. Dd asked if she was going to see santa again and get MORE presents , grasping wee so-and-so!!

liath · 10/12/2008 21:03

D clearly code for Pesha there .

Doobydoo · 10/12/2008 21:08

Oh dooby you sweetie! I'm not fussed - she is plainly utterly loop the loop! I thought my suggestion was a masterpiece of creative thinking personally
