NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 23/11/2008 20:45

ah daisy i dont feel like i can complain on the SN thread, cos other ppl DC are so much worse. toms is just behaviour, at least he is normal in growth and intelligance

Sputnik · 23/11/2008 20:49

Yes did we miss your birthday Norty? Happy birthday! I was pg for my 40th too, no fun at all.

Tallulah that is one impressive bump! Have you had anyone come up with the "ha ha, are you sure it's not twins" comment so you can tell them "well, actually"

LeakyDAISYcal · 23/11/2008 20:51

sorry trace, missed your post about Chloe. sorry that the operation hasn't improved things for her

Natty, you wouldn't be moaning, just asking for advice and tips on how to handle his behaviour.

hi sputnik

Sputnik · 23/11/2008 20:54

If I were you I wouldn't hesitate to chat with the SN lot Natty, even though Tom may be mild in comparison to some I'm sure people there will have experience and tips for you handling his behaviour. IME they are all very supportive.

Sputnik · 23/11/2008 20:55

Hi Daisy.

LeakyDAISYcal · 23/11/2008 20:58

We are off to one of those digital photo studios tomorrow afternoon for a photo session. Not looking forward to it as I'm not exactly in tip top condition, but we had a gift voucher and it runs out at the end of the month.

DS2's body clock seems to be readjusting itself. He has gone from his sleepytime being midmorning to it being evening. maybe next week it'll be at night!!!!

justbeme · 23/11/2008 21:02

Hi all
Happy Belated Birthday Norty - you've joined me now!
Tallulah - wow! I feel for you!!

Sorry havent posted much recently, not had much to say - but have sort of kept up with things.

Fairy - my woodburner is going to be finished tomorrow (I hope)
Our hole was too small, so we got a builder friend to open it up, Cost us £120 and the chimney sweep who is installing it has charged us £150 plus extra parts were £150. So all in all its been about £1,100!!! Yikes. It is the Aga Little wenlock - seems to be one of the smallest.

LeakyDAISYcal · 23/11/2008 21:04

hey jbm
how are you doing?

educatingRia · 23/11/2008 21:16

Jammy, glad you are back safely, was wondering about you and the weather this afternoon.

justbeme · 23/11/2008 21:21

Im not too bad Daisy - apart from cystitus (sp?) Dont know where the days are going to at the moment - It'll be Xmas before we know it!!

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 23/11/2008 21:22

oh dont jbm, its going so fast isnt it! scary really, and shops are really busy already. glad ive done my shopping, i can put my feet up and laugh at all the people running about in december

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/11/2008 21:24

Yeah, back safely thanks Ria. But was a miserable journey. Jamlet was really really tired but just wouldn't sleep so was just grumpy and miserable all the way And the weather was wet which made driving miserable for DH.

LeakyDAISYcal · 23/11/2008 21:25

natty...re gordon's menu.

I ate prawns all the way through my pregnancy. I think they are less risky than shellfish like mussels and clams.

the brandy in the steak will have all the alcohol cooked off so would be fine, but tbh I would eat it anyway; a little alcohol in cooking isn;t going to cause any issues.

the cheesecake? is it raw eggs in that? if the eggs are lion branded they are guaranteed salmonella free so I wouldn't necessarily let it stop me either (recalls several cheesecake eating incidents in my pregnancy)

LeakyDAISYcal · 23/11/2008 21:28

Oh, poor you jbm, it's horrible. Drink lots of cranberry juice; helps to flush it all through and neutralise the burn.

Shhhhh, don't mention Christmas.....still got all my shopping to do for family and friends, although we have said kids only this year which simplifies things.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/11/2008 21:30

Ooooh, I did a load of Christmas shopping on Saturday. Got a selection of yummy treats for my DBro and his DGF

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 23/11/2008 21:31

lol daisy, i will give it a go then lol

justbeme · 23/11/2008 21:33

Where have you just been to Jammy??
I hate driving with a screaming baby!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/11/2008 21:36

Been up to my ILs JBM. We are going there for Xmas, but we went up this weekend for a pre-Xmas present exchange with DH's extended family who we won't see at Xmas. Lovely pub lunch out with them yesterday and Jamlet was a star. We even bought her her own dinner (ham sandwiches) for the first time instead of making her share ours. Of course she had some of ours as well

educatingRia · 23/11/2008 21:45

I wanted kids only (and DM&F of course) but dsis has reduced the budget for adults and kids to £3 each

now I can bargain hunt with the best, but I would rather the kids had a decent prezzie and we all got nothing. dsis earns more on a 1/2 day overtime than DH gets for a 12 hr day, so they don't exactly want for anything.

justbeme · 23/11/2008 21:50

Wow you had to be prepared early then Jammy with your presents!!

I agree Ria - I'd rather it just be children for presents. I wanted my Mum to buy LO one decent present, but she will insist on several cheap ones.

educatingRia · 23/11/2008 22:09

I don't mean to be ungrateful, whatever I get I'll be happy, but christmas is about kids, and however good their manners (or not, in the current phase DS1 is going through) I hate to see them disappointed. I know last year Dsis did "cutting back" and then changed at the last minute because she had a few weeks of overtime before xmas. I think it's the "poor relation" thing that pisses me off the most. This year her DCs are getting DSs each (combined GPs gift as DS1s was last year), so they won't even be interested in my £3 gift
