I've got onto freecycle.org and found my local group, which I joined ages ago, but I can't actually see any posts. I think I might need a lesson in getting onto it! Am I looking in the wrong place? freecycle.org.uk is the one I found, then I found my area, but can't seem to log in or do anything.

Am I just incompetent?

Crayon found! Didn't fancy having to explain red scribbles all over my landlord's wall!

Foxy, my freecycle is a yahoo group that you have to join.

question for sputnik...

iirc you have a sidecar cot don't you? how do you deal with the gap between the cot mattress and your mattress? I have set up F's cot and bearing in mind the advice about sofas and gaps between cushions and sofa frame, there is a potential squidgy gap between the two mattresses. I am probably worrying unnecessarily, but he could, in theory get his face stuck in the gap.

no idea about freecycle foxy. I joined and then haven't used it.

wax crayons banned here too....it's coloured pencils or nothing.

We are having retro 70's tea tonight....chicken kiev, chips and peas followed by Vienetta.

phew caught up and forgotten everything. Tis good to be back though.
We have had ceappy electrical item failure at every turn (PC, DVD player the week I had a DVD to watch for my course) and are the house of the sick. DS2 managed the dress rehersal (I brought him home straight afterwards) and yesterdays nativity performance, then the school rang while I was looting in Wollies to say he was ill (despite being told twice to call grandad if they needed him), anyway they are all pale, ill and naughty. No idea if they're going back to school next week and christmas has just become a big stressful thing I am dreading.
Plus I had a crying hissy fit this morning when I discovered a puddle in the conservatory (DS2 had stood in it) and rain coming in the roof and running down the wall. Plus the house was a shit-tip when DF came to see what he could do (nothing til the rain stops)

I am sorry you missed my week of euphoria and I have come back as a moaning minnie

DH got a job!!!! He has been back at work 2 weeks. And he is back inot full-on 12-16 hour days 6 days a week, with a manager who fucks off whenever they feel like it leaving DH and the other staff to cover when the owners want them. He is going to try and stick it out though cos it could be the best job in the world if he can oust the managerment couple for being lazy feckers who are incompetent, and get the top dogs-bolleaux job! I will try and link the place to my FB later tonight. I should wash up now (DH tidied the kitchen when I was at Morrisons)

sorry for mammoth post.

thats ok

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 13/12/2008 19:20

That sounds like an idea natty about the foam. We might buy a cheap mattress pad from IKEA (DH will be pleased to make another trip there ) but for tonight we'll just use a flat sheet and tuck it in really tightly. We can't tie the cot to the bed unfortunately as our bed has a sprung base not a pine frame.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 13/12/2008 19:49

ah so u got my poor explanation?? i can picture it in my head but i cant explain it

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 13/12/2008 20:13
